Revamping the Game

Hold on a sec before you get too far into this. I'm not sure that there is a real need to expand the species power base to level 9. Basically after level 6 you are able to do just about anything you want to with either your species specific power or with spells. As for the general power table, I think we may be getting rid of it completely. Joining the MoE would grant the fireball or levin bolt power(which would expand in strength as levels progressed) and the blinking/shimmering/teleporting power. Any other abilities would be gained through the species they choose. Pulling much more from the general power table brings us back to the same problem of generic demons. What is the point of being a metamorph or siren if everyone gets your powers at one level or another.

Also Meg, there are also the water affinity sirens to include. I have a list of the species and am working on updating them as well. I will start a species thread so that we dont clutter up this one with species discussion since there are so many.
 
we should polish up what we have...rather than expanding it. I think it would be better to narrow things down rather than blow things up. members seem to have a hard time with so much at their disposal......and again, NOT every character type should have the same powers. we have such an array of character types and so their powers should vary as well. to end the confusion we once had as well as the clutter, we are DEFINATELY getting rid of the Generic MoE power table........we dont need it really..and some of the powers for the generic table can be divied up among the character types BUT not everyone is going to be able to everything........hence the need for a team. granted some BASIC things like "blinking/shimmerin/teleporting", and "energy balls" will be common amongst ALL MoE but thats it. this will create the necessity for a person choosing their character type to choose wisely for there will be NO switching allowed this time around.


Ikaris and I had begun talking about polishing up various character type power tables a while back and he was giving me very helpful suggestions...including his idea for sirens with a water affinity (based on the sirens of myth rather than the ones from charmed) which i thought was an excellent idea. the revamping of character types will take some time.......and is best NOT to be rushed. lets fix up what we have BEFORE adding too many more new ones....so we wont have the problems we had before.

The Darkhold is also going to be redone and ORGANIZED this time round and that will take time as well. we also have to work on restyling the whole of MoE in terms of its color scheme, banners and buttons.



to begin with...........im moving the Generic Power Table thread in here.......and Ikaris and I can go through to divide the powers that should be kept among the character types.

Does anyone here want to try their hand at redesigning MoE's look?

I will pass on changing the look, I get too easily distracted and unfortunately am not as artistically talented as I would like to be. :) I do like the idea that Ri is using for the GoL header, the Halliwells on the one side and an angel drawing on the other. The effect is lovely.

I am working on the Darkholde as we speak, dropping redundent spells, combining effects, clearing up language, etc. When I have finished with that I will be puting them in order by level. It should be done in the next day or so depending on how distracted I get.
 
That is a Nice Effect, I was thinking something with the Staff in it, their AI's.. I know all of them except yours Jay

oh lord....you minimized the impact of Ikaris' boy toy.....hes going to have you on the carpet for that im sure!:D

Ikaris, take your time with whatever youve decided to do. i dont want anyone feeling pressured right now.....and if we take our time.....then things will definately be done the best way possible :)


Brandon.....if you want to try for a new scheme, be my guest.....you know me.....i want something that is stylish and cutting edge.......i often favor metallic and sparkling effects as well.....Tash caught on to my concepts perfectly for the newly redone Blaze as did white star for the main GoW forum.

but make sure that we keep the black background for the general area of MoE. for our main banner, i dont know about having our images .....besides the fact that Magik would be animated while everyone else's would be a real actor/actress........ id like a banner for the main MoE forum. we shall keep the one we have for Blaze (if we need to change the color of it.......fine) and something a little more stylish for Midnight Plaza (but i want Madonna in there lol).
 
Since the MoE won the rights to the Elemental Fortress in the AHBL thread, perhaps we can set Blaze up there? Just a thought since Trent and Ri also helped in the slaughter, we could share it with everyone.

I am taking my time with the Darkholde, I still should be able to be finished fairly soon.

Question for everyone. Can we open the MoE to everyone to post in? Not have anything going on in the AHBL forum, but still give them the chance to interact in our forum. It might help make for a smooth transition as well as keeping interest up while we work on things.

And btw, I really like the sleek look we have for MoE now. Its very clean looking. Whoever did it did a wonderful job! Kudos to you!
 
We could open MoE for posting, it would certainly make people much happier ;) There's a chance we may have to close the MoE for a short while in future though, I guess..? If we need to do any major updates.

Good job on the new scheme. Banner's lovely, although I AM wondering why we have the world largest forces of good on the banner of the masters of evil :p

the new look of MoE was my brainstorm last night, and Kris brought it to fruition. she's waiting for me to submit our header to her so she can make new thread/reply buttons to coordinate with it.

but im so glad you used the words "sleek" and "clean" ikaris......that was exactly what i had in mind. and the banner we have up right now..is just a place holder....i asked Kris to put it up because i liked it so much (mostly because of Prue b eing there lol)


as for Opening MoE.........I'd like to do a bit more cleaning first before we reopen our forums, i started last night...and today im going to clean out some old or outdated threads so we can start fresh again.......with the major change in the power tables and character types as well as the darkhold, i think that is needed.

the new scheme for AHBL is going to be in place soon, Kris and I found something i think is quite suitable ;)

Promoting: I dont know a thing about how to make banners and such, Im going to ask Kris if she can send out a board email promoting the newly redesigned GoW but if any of you who own or run boards could help out with drawing in fresh (and hopefully competent) players to the game, that would be so awesome!
 
I could possibly consider informing people in some way at X-Evolution...? Whether it be email, thread linking here, or, I don't know... I'm sure Lee will agree that X-E would love to help in any way it can.
 
oh and by the way, i just put a note to kristin to make sure you have access to Hollow's Crypt as well as Ikaris , the Dire Wraiths and Evil Incarnates.


just to REMIND everyone, Dan (Sheraco) still has access to the War Room, as he is now a special guest star. Im going to contact him to see if he will help promote the newly re designed game as well.
 
Out of curiosity, what's the situation with Solitaire - does she have special guest star status here in MoE?
 
apparently she asked for and was given "special guest star" status. it happened while i was away but i was okay with it being that she was a good member in time past and she was unable to come over when we first moved here.

she's expressed an interest to go over to the GoL and help....and Irene doesnt have a problem with that so i think perhaps ill send her over.....but i havent had time to think it through yet.
 
I remember her being a Mastrix back at WBD, she was a good member back then and no doubt would be now. No matter which side she was on ;)

Did we allow people to switch sides during the WBD / AD move?
 
As far as I know, we weren't allowing a for a mass crossover. I believe that Ri is asking if Christian and Rayden can join the GoL since they are both rather involved with her but I am not certain about that.
 
no, we ARENT allowing a general "switch sides" type deal for the players of the game..........Ill have to talk to irene about those two you mentioned Ikaris because i dont even know who Christian is lol.


and as for Soliatire, she was a mastrix (thank you for reminding me). i know she wants to help out where ever she can, but with Riana and Trent having moved over to GoL, we definately need to keep our strongest members here and if she plans on returning, Im going to let her know that i would prefer her here.
 
Christian was on the WB from what I gather. Not sure about much more than that other than he shows alot of promise, was interesting enough to have come into the Hellfire Club and is one of the Undead.

BTW. What is everyone's opinion on the Club as far as shouldwe open it to the general population or should we keep it exclusive and look more more promising members to invite.
