Not really, it makes for individual demons rather than a hive of highly powered grunts. If I get MA at level six for my species and at level 4 in the general demon table it really doesn't make alot of sense. Repeating the powers and making them available to everyone is genericizing the members so that everyone is the same. There is no individuality and if the GoL come up with a means to beat one, they defeat the entire MoE.
Also I have seen a bunch of things written about different types of magic, Asgardian, Eldritch, etc. What ever happened with that and could anyone explain what it was all about. It sounded rather interesting.

I agree with Jay, many things are double in the species tables and the general tables.. i.m.o. they could be removed so that you only have your species powers, this would make things less confusing for the members.

I actually agree with Irene and Jay.. It would actually mean something to be a Species instead of having everyone get your powers..
I mean the only ACTUAL species that has really unique qualities are the Siren and the Elementals.. That is pretty much it.. the rest of the species powers can be acquired through the general power table..
So sorry but I gotta agree with them lol. It makes sense!

There should be some things that are generalized like the teleportation/movement abilitiy. Eveyone would get that upon joining as well as some sort of fire or energy ball type casting ability and perhaps lower level telepathy at say level 3. Not able to cast psi bolts but able to communicate with others.

Sounds like a good plan to me, they need to have something to start out with and the telepathy.. I feel they souldn't get that right away.. I see members using it at level 1 and that is not right i.m.o. Riana only got it after she got to level 3 herself

Yeah personally the telepathy always bothered me because Brenthon is a telepath and so for every member of the MoE to just be communicating telepathically all the time.. It was annoying lol!
Yeah I agree because most lower level demons and witches on Charmed always had energy balls and movement powers!

one of the things i had been thinking on intently was actually the subject that Ikaris brought up.....about nixing the generic power table for MoE.
Ive come to agree with him that its better to have a group of diverse and powerful members rather than everyone start to rest on their laurels because if their character type doesnt have a certain power at some level, then they might get it via the generic level ladder.
this will give us the chance to go through and root out any redundancies in the power tables of the species as well. we definately need to clean out the darkhold. how many people think we should organize the spells by level? its been suggested before but ive been reluctant to go through with it.
this goes back to staffing issues in a way but Training MUST become vital as it once was which means we will need trainers who are consistent and reliable and that is ALL they will be responsible for so that they can devote time to it. tournaments must be reintroduced at regular intervals along with special bonus matches with the offer of incentives.
tailsmans: we have an impressive array and i think we should keep most of them......is there any that anyone feels should go? explain why. I loved Dan's idea of enchantments but i think we need to include them in one of the shops........so that the shop owners of Midnight Plaza can share some of the responsibility.
allow members to switch sides/covens? if we do that...GoL may not have anyone left but its an idea the ADA/FGB used once....and since we've been around for over a year...why couldnt we try it?
set up and design for BOTH covens: its time for new looks all across the board.......and new sets ups. we need to make sure we are only using the space we NEED and not cluttering up too much so that bandwidth does not become an issuewe need artists.....people who can do banners, buttons and other GoW related art....reliable, dependable people that i can tap into and get timely results.
FRESH faces: we need staff all across the board......NEW people but people we can trust and people with credibility. i dont have many contacts on other boards any more, but if any of you do.....please refer them to myself and jay. id like to get a FULL staff for both covens this time round. we also need a new way to lure new players into the game as well as the board...when we first arrived, Tru Calling experience a boost in activity across the whole board and not just in our own game.

I am going to be the first person and possibly the only person to vehemently say NO to that. I witnessed the FGB / ADA switching week first hand, and let me tell you, it was an absolute NIGHTMARE. The FGB lost 20 members - ADA lost 2. The same would happen to GoL and the LAST thing we need is for GoL to loose half or more of their membership. I highly advise you not to take that route. However, if you decide to go for it, I'll support you... but i urge you to reconsider that option.
That would work *nods* It just means that we'd have to build highly upon the species power tables... because they only go up to level 6...?
Also, could we possibly consider giving out talismans at every level to off set that? Because there are some species who are going to have no kind of projectile power, or no kind of mental powers, or whatever, and the talismans would allow them at least some choice...
I think they need to be organised SOMEHOW. How, I'm not entirely sure, but by level seems like a good idea in my opinion...

About the switching sides.. Farrah I know you talked about creating a character for yourself and go into GoL... this may sound wilde coming from me and my love for MoE but... I was thinking what if Riana turned GOOD and crossed over to GoL?
I think I could really do great work there with Tash and Will and they need someone strong like Riana there.. tell me what you guys think.

well, im glad you shared with me your personal observation of the ADA/FGB swap. it was really only a loose thought but now im not going to consider it. I was in the original ADA as was Ikaris and Sheraco(Dan) .....we clearly had the more appealing side back then and i see that much hasnt changed.
getting rid of the generic power table, would allow us to divide some of the powers in that table among the character type power tables. keep in mind, all the character types SHOULD have various strengths and weaknesses...it makes for a better selection and the idea is that a team is stronger than the sum of its parts. but the hard part comes in deciding, do we stay with six levels at each table and offset that loss of power by granting tailsmans at each level as Sati said OR do we build three levels into each table?

its funny that you bring that up because i already asked Trent to go over to GoL. He could keep his character and we would create a sort of "explanation" as to why he ended up being displaced (quite by accident) into another time and space (the gol) I planned asking Tash if she wanted to step down because i KNOW her online duties are many ...not to mention whatever else she has going on....but if you want to go over there, I actually would say YES simply because we need a healthy, active staff and you definately know what your doing. you've had time to get used to being a leader and then you even were able to fill in my position in my absense. You, Trent and Will....(with at least two other people) would round it out.

Okay ... I'm going over then.. I allready talked to this with Will and he thinks it's a great idea.. but if possible I would like to keep my own character and powers (as water elemental) you know I won't share the MoE powers with them.. that is something I won't use against you

Actually out of all of the people to do the switch, I would have to agree that Riana is a Good choice. You seem to be the most amiable with the GoL staff, and you have some great ideas!
I say go for it! The only way to go is up!
Personally, I think the Darkhold should go by Level, because I remember when I joined I kept having to remember the page number and just keep searching and searching, and sometimes it discouraged me from using spells.. So I think it's a great idea!
As For Fresh Faces? AMEN to that! We have many Talented Rpers on the boards and I think we should try to honor them or find even new people that haven't been apart of the game for a long time to just freshen things up.. However, I don't want to lose Riana, she is a big asset and who could POSSIBLY replace her?

But seriously, I am confused on how this will all work. You will be put in positions of Mistress and Master of Light? Like actual leaders of the game?
Cause I know they only have a Staff of Three, and I haven't seen Liza in over 6 months, so they probably need the new staff a lot.
Personally, even though I hate to lose BOTH of you! (Now Trent and I can't ***** fight over the Color Red! ) I think it is for the better of the game.. and hey, you guys are braver than I am! lol!
