Haleigh's Apartment

:: Cameron had decided to go for a run after the giant meltdown everyone had in the attempted training session earlier, he had been at it for almost an hour, not really keeping track of the distance he had ran, instead he just decided to run. His heartrate was bumping as was "Black and Gold" by Sam Sparro on his bluetooth when the song stopped suddenly and alerted him to a text message. ::

Emergency meeting in my apartment! Get here ASAP, please

:: Thankfully he was rounding the corner to Melrose Place and after a few moments he was in the courtyard. Running up to his apartment, he grabbed a bottle of water, and began gulping it down as he made his way to Haleigh's apartment, a place he had decided earlier he would try to completely avoid if he could. But the team was more important than his own personal problems, so he took a deep breath, grabbed the knob, turned it and entered her abode. ::

"Hey, what's going on?"

:: Cameron pondered as a news alert hit his blackberry, informing him of the situation at LAX, his eyes widened for a second. ::

"Nevermind, looks like it's got global coverage..."

It was a pretty intense danger room session, one that kept Ava's mind thinking and body moving non stop since the blow up between the group and Sharon. Laying down in the middle of the now empty silver room, the simulation was over and the danger room reverted back to it's 'normal' plain metallic state. Covered in a sheen of sweat, Ava panted in labored breaths feeling like she had just ran around the city of Los Angeles.

"Maybe I should have continued training while I was on Arie....I just whipped my own ass."

With a short laugh, Ava shut her eyes and began to slow her breathing in an effort to cool down. Part of the roof was still blown apart due to Sharon's sudden departure, giving Ava the chance to bath in some warm sunlight in the middle of the very cold metal room. It was serene, and the ideal way to take a bit of a rest before heading back to Melrose Place.

Haleigh: Emergency meeting in my apartment! Get here ASAP, please

"Uuuughh."

Huffing out, so much for that idea. Sitting up, Ava gathered herself to her feet.

"Lock down Danger Room."

The artificial lights all shut off, leaving the room dark [except for the single beam of sunlight]. Disappearing in a tornado of winds, Ava reappeared in the courtyard of Melrose Place. Walking over to Haleigh's apartment, Ava entered; still wearing her workout attire she had on earlier.

Cameron: Nevermind, looks like it's got global coverage...

"Global coverage? What happened?"

Looking to the numerous monitors floating around Haleigh's livingroom, they all showed various angles and vantage points of LAX. Lowering her eyebrows, the scene was hard to take in. A plane had completely destoryed half of LAX....but the most shocking part...ZOMBIES were there, terrorizing what survivors had survived.

"Christ.....how the hell did this happen?"

Alycia: Look around us...There's no way for us to get out of here. We have to get undercover and ....call for help.

"Undercover? You want to go DEEPER into LAX as opposed to LEAVING the zombie filled airport? Brilliant plan there Barnett!"

Dragging the senator with her, Claudia grunted out in frustration as he struggled to keep up with her. Finally, they reached the lounge, which was already filled with some survivors. Dropping the senator into a nearby chair, he was getting on her last nerves with all his complaining. Rolling her eyes, if he didn't shut up soon, the zombies would be the least of his concerns.

Senator: Hey...love birds! I'm a united states senator! you HAVE to protect me!

Alycia: This is YOUR fault, Davis. If you hadnt continued to FUND and BACK WilPharma, pushing for INCREASED deregulation of theire activities on united states soil and overseas...these BIO TERROR events that are CLEARLY linked to their products would not be HAPPENING!

Senator: You seem AWFULLY angry, Miss Barnett. All work and no play making you even more of a bitch than you were during your days as the D.A. with your friend Sharon Kelly, better known as the mutate terrorist SILVER SWAN?

Will: CUT IT OUT, Davis. You're in NO position to throw stones. And in case you didnt know? Alycia is the best qualified person to address the problem we're facing. she SURVIVED Arklay Mansion as well as Master Mold, incidents that were caused by MYSTECH which SHARON KELLY fought valiantly to take down. Too bad the same cant be said for you, so either you SHUT UP or your leg isnt going to be the ONLY thing "injured" in the next few seconds.

Cocking her gun, Claudia placed the barrell of it against the senator's temple.

"I have no reason to protect you Senator....in fact, I would thoroughly enjoy putting a bullet in your head since you just fucked up my Milan vacation. So unless you shut your mouth and KEEP it shut, you can tell all your friends in Hell: Claudia Zacchara said hello. Capiche?"

Giving him a toothy grin, Claudia roughly pushed his head away with the barrell of her gun before walking over to the sealed lounge doors. She could easily hear screaming coming from the airport, a long with other disturbing noises that most likely were coming from the zombies. So far, they hadn't tried to get into the room....too many victims for them to pick off in the open airport. However, that would most likely change as soon as their 'meals' were gone.

[to Will] "Hey, you...help me move this couch in front of the door."

Holstering her gun into the back of her pants once again, with Will's help, Claudia began to push one of the large couches across the room, placing it in front of the lounge door. It wouldn't do much, but it would atleast buy them some time.

Haleigh and Delilah had taken a step in the right direction, but before they could go any further, Haleigh had been called back inside the danger room. Which could only have meant one thing: Nicolas had called her. Delilah shook her head and got into her car.

She just drove, finding herself at the one place in LA she didn’t hate. She had taken the twisting, narrow roads through the hills to Mulholland Drive and just went. She turned the radio up loud and took in the expanse of the one calm place in this city.

She had pulled off the side of the road in one of those deserted spots where it was illegal to do so but you did it anyway. She just sat in the grass and looked out over the city below. The stress of dealing with the others was getting to be too much for her, but here the anxiety just faded away.

She got back in the car. Making her way back down the hill, her phone beeped, telling her she had a text. She waved her hand over it and it displayed the new message from Haleigh: Emergency meeting in my apartment! Get here ASAP, please.

The radio had switched to a news report – some disturbance near the airport – and she quickly switched the channel. The last thing she wanted to hear about was more of the city’s problems.

Arriving back at MP, she sauntered in to Haleigh’s apartment, and seeing the others assembled there (save Sharon, thank god) she gave them a quizzical look.

“What’d I miss?”

Nicolas: Already here, Haleigh.

Haleigh looked up at him, a million things running through her mind. The inside of her head sounded like a crowded room. The news coverage, the ramifications, possible strategies, and other things as well. Haleigh's mind could process all these things at once, thanks to the TO virus. It was far more than any human mind could think clearly about. But as she looked up at Nicolas, she toned down the other things, making the 'noise' dim and tolerable so that he didn't have to listen to a hundred screaming thoughts at once. She focused more clearly on his condition. He seemed much better than he was earlier and, as he could usually be counted upon to be, he was focused on the task at hand. Still, they were alone… and some things needed to be said BEFORE any other telepaths arrived.

"Nicolas! I'm glad you got here first. About this morning… I'm sorry I walked out. I honestly thought it would IMPROVE the situation if I removed myself from it. If I had realized I was leaving you unprotected… I would've stayed to keep her from… to keep her anger focused on me."

She paused. There was something else she felt guilty about to, and she did not overlook the way he was looking at her. As if there was something wrong with her, or something off…. He seemed wary, and she knew why.

"And about the other thing… [dropping her gaze from his, then casting it to a monitor for something else to look at] I don't know… I don't understand it. It could be an extension of the dream… or my imagination, or some subconscious… or it could be…. The TO virus… further asserting itself…"

Her voice drifted into a mix of guilt, embarrassment, and self-loathing. She took a deep breath, her gaze flickering over to him to gauge his reaction.

"I would really appreciate your discretion. I don't want to alarm the others. I'll do… WHATEVER it takes to… control myself. I know it’s a LOT to ask but--"

The shame was written on her face. She didn't get a chance to finish, as behind her, Cameron entered. Haleigh's expression immediately went blank and for a split second, so did her mind. Then the noise quietly returned, and she directed Cameron's attention to the many screens she had up. Ava and Delilah showed up only a few seconds later. No one knew yet.

Cameron: Never mind, looks like it's got global coverage.

Ava: Global coverage? What happened?

Delilah: What'd I miss?

Haleigh switched the main monitor to the previous news footage from inside the terminal, and told them all to watch for themselves.

Female reporter: coming to you LIVE from LAX terminal where what can only be described is a NIGHTMARE unfolds! humans ATTACKING one another, but something worse! it appears that some of them were ZOMBIES and now they are crawling in the airport even as we broadcast this LIVE!

<< and they can see the chaos, people running, screaming, zombies bitting. as the reporter talks, her camera man's hand can be seen POINTING behind her as a zombie is closing in on her. she stops, breaking form to ask him WHAT his problem is...and then its too late, she is attacked and BITTEN live on the air, before the camera is dropped and the signal is lost.>>

"And if THAT weren't bad enough, there's THIS:

The screen went blank for a few seconds, and then switched to some live footage being filmed by helicopter. A man's voice could be heard over the otherwise silent feed

Reporter: As you can see, the plane HAS come to a rest halfway into the terminal that was affected by the outbreak. There's NO WORD on what went wrong with the flight. Now based on what Air Traffic Control has said, the plane was on approach when they began transmitting some broken and unintelligible radio calls. Then it became clear to the Control Tower officials that the plane was being flown erratically and drifting off course. They tried to redirect the pilot but there were NO more transmissions from the flight crew. We don't know if ANYONE survived, as the military have set up a perimeter for containment and the rescue crews are NOT able to get in. No one can tell us what disease we're dealing with and it's NOT SAFE for anyone to go in.

[sighing] "Before you all arrived, Nicolas suggested taking a mental 'look'… seeing if there was ANYTHING or anyone to be saved. [to Nic] To answer your question belatedly… I'm afraid there won't be many survivors. In a busy airport terminal with no warning, among CIVILIANS with no experience…. the virus will spread FAST. IF anyone survives the initial outbreak, it will only be because they are either superhuman, like us, or they have prior experience dealing with something like this. IF anyone is still alive, then maybe they were smart enough to hole up somewhere. [pursing her lips] I'm going. I have to DO SOMETHING… but the rest of you… it's your choice. I UNDERSTAND if you decide not to go. I can black out the cameras and reduce the exposure risk, but if anyone sees us that shouldn't… and then of course, there's the goddamn zombies. They'll be EVERYWHERE."

"What the hell? Do zombies follow us around or something? For chrissake!"

Delilah was watching the footage and pacing. Could they ever have a MOMENT's rest from disaster? And for that matter, who kept letting this stuff LOOSE?!

"What do we think, bioterrorism?"

Haleigh said that she was going - and it never had occurred to Delilah to not go, or that any of them wouldn't.

"I'll transport us over there. How do we contain this? The last thing we need is that stuff spreading to the entire city."

Haleigh was guilt-ridden as she tried to explain about earlier.

"Nicolas! I'm glad you got here first. About this morning… I'm sorry I walked out. I honestly thought it would IMPROVE the situation if I removed myself from it. If I had realized I was leaving you unprotected… I would've stayed to keep her from… to keep her anger focused on me."

That would have only increased the risk that she would've hurt you. That I could not tolerate. It happened in the best way it COULD have.

"And about the other thing… [dropping her gaze from his, then casting it to a monitor for something else to look at] I don't know… I don't understand it. It could be an extension of the dream… or my imagination, or some subconscious… or it could be…. The TO virus… further asserting itself…"

And here I was hoping that you still just wanted to put your mouth on me again...

He quieted the dirty joke as another wave of shame washed over her. He looked upon her with compassion and...the same care he always had. She tried to explain again.

"I would really appreciate your discretion. I don't want to alarm the others. I'll do… WHATEVER it takes to… control myself. I know it’s a LOT to ask but--"

They were interrupted by the entrance of the others and Haleigh obviously was wary of Cameron intercepting their talk. Nicolas pulled another trick he had up his sleeve...Haleigh received from him a stream of 0's and 1's - binary code- but at first the words were unintelligible...at least until she received one word correctly in English: Navajo. Nicolas was conversing with her in binary-encoded WWII Navajo military codespeak, something that she ONLY would be familiar with. As she began to understand what he was sending, he spoke to her again, knowing she could do more than one thing at once.

No apologies necessary. Your secret is safe with me. Whatever you face...I will be there for you.

Haleigh then spoke to the group, now assembled.

I UNDERSTAND if you decide not to go. I can black out the cameras and reduce the exposure risk, but if anyone sees us that shouldn't… and then of course, there's the goddamn zombies. They'll be EVERYWHERE."

Delilah spoke to what he was thinking. Who here would NOT go? Even AVA would want to watch her sister.

"I'll transport us over there. How do we contain this? The last thing we need is that stuff spreading to the entire city."

Nicolas answered her.

I still have more of these from the lab. I made some a while ago just in case. better than the last set.

Nicolas produced more injectors filled with the cocktail based on the one from when they faced the zombies at Arklay. He handed them out.

If you get bit, use this at the site of the wound IMMEDIATELY. It will slow things a LOT while we get you to Aerie or wherever you need to be. I am certain that Alison will be aware if she is needed. As far as containing them, can you create a a ring of extreme cold weather around the airport, Ava? I think it will deter them enough for us to try to get them all before any get out. My analysis form precious encounters suggests that cold will be an...inconvenience for them. It should give us time to work and keep any extra prying eyes occupied. I would suggest we split into two teams: me and Haleigh on one team and then the rest of you on the other team. We'll cover a heck of a lot more ground that way.

Nicolas' plan would also help them keep Haleigh's secret.

Delilah: "What do we think, bioterrorism?"

"It seems like it. There's no way a full blown zombie would be able to board a plane without causing some sort of scene; not to mention killing everyone on it before takeoff. It sounds like someone was purposely infected with the TO virus and it happened to ravage their body in mid flight....the fact that the plane crashed into LAX is just a coincidence in my opinion."

Haleigh: "I'm going. I have to DO SOMETHING… but the rest of you… it's your choice. I UNDERSTAND if you decide not to go. I can black out the cameras and reduce the exposure risk, but if anyone sees us that shouldn't…"

"If people throw a shit fit because we're saving them from zombies, then they can kiss my ass. I'm going."

Nicolas: As far as containing them, can you create a a ring of extreme cold weather around the airport, Ava?

"No problem. I have to be there in order to manipulate the weather, so when Delilah teleports us to LAX, i'll do it."

Melrose Place

<< Sharon had arrived to her apartment sight unseen and was now in her battle armour with her adamantium wings retracted and hidden.>>

<< having heard more than one source of distress and that terrifying new broadcast, Sharon decided she would go to the airport. She felt a STRONG NEED to go there but didnt quite know why. this EMERGENCY overrode her hatred of Haleigh and her hostility toward that turn coat Nicolas and that holier than thou Delilah but if she could she'd slip out BEFORE they saw her, that would be better.>>

<< her blonde, silver streaked hair was down and she grabbed her silver eyemask. it was time to go and get to the bottom of what was going on and get to the bottom of this.>>

<< she couldnt help but think back to when she was drawn to Arklay Mansion. Only THEN it was because of her son! What could it be NOW at the airport?>>

<< how could zombies appear in such a populus place? hadnt they ERRADICATED the T and G virus!? Something ELSE was happening now and none of them knew quite what yet. AND there might be people to RESCUE!>>

<< after preparing herself as best she could mentally, she was ready to leave and so she exited her apartment. it was now early evening but she could get to LAX in mere MINUTES due to her beyond super sonic speed flight. If there was anything that TRULY would work against her, it was the unknown that waited for her and the number of zombies in the terminal but she'd worry about that later.>>

<< she tired of being judged by people like Delilah and Haleigh and she would not tolerate further betrayal from Nicolas. She had power and now she was going to use it :D >>

well...here I go...

<< she said softly as she prepared to take off to the airport at top speed.>>

Glancing toward Haleigh's front door, Ava heard Sharon enter the courtyard and head into her apartment. Normally the rift between the six and Sharon wouldn't bother Ava; not unless it escalated into who would kill who first. Everyone was entitled to liking or disliking who they pleased....case and point, her, Nicolas, and Mike. Ava couldn't stand either of them. Nicolas because she still held a grudge over how he screwed over Haleigh and Morgan and basically caused their already strained friendship to fracture, and Mike because he was just a useless ass. So if Haleigh and Delilah hated Sharon, or Sharon hated everyone, it didn't much matter to Ava. However, like the 'no killing team members policy', when there was a crisis such as the one they were facing now, Ava KNEW the six would be better off working with Sharon than without. There was a reason she was here, despite what everyone thought.

As everyone discussed the situation at the airport, Ava took a few steps back from the group and quietly disappeared out of Haleigh's front door. Seeing Sharon dressed in her battle attire, it was obvious she had heard what happened at LAX also.

Sharon: well...here I go...

"Sharon, wait."

Though they didn't know each other well, Ava could relate to what Sharon was going through. She was feeling alienated and betrayed by everyone; abandoned. And despite Haleigh being her sister [which most likely automatically placed her in the 'foe' category in Sharon's eyes] she owed it to the team to at least APPEAL to her.

"Look...I don't know you very well; in fact, i've only ever known you as the Silver Swan. But I do know what you're going through [scoffing softly] I of all people SHOULD. I was brought into this timeline against my will. I never wanted to be here...with these people [the six]. I HAD a family of my own; people that I loved more than my own life. People that I would DIE for. But instead, they died. My timeline was destoryed...my life as I knew it was over. So I HAD to stay here. I HAD to make this life my own. I had to merge with my crosstime alternate. I had to start working in unison with the six. I had to rebuild my life...a life I never wanted, just like you. And you better damn well believe I resented the HELL out of it. Now i'm not saying our stories are exactly the same, but I can relate. And while you may not want anything to do with Haleigh, Delilah, or Nicolas right now, we NEED you. You're a valuble member of this team; valuble enough for Morgan to appoint you co-team leader. The situation at LAX is a hell of a lot bigger than this civil war going on within the six. So i'm appealing to you, as someone who understands where you're coming from, for you to join us and not go off alone."

For all Ava knew, it would be like speaking to a brick wall. But she had to at least TRY.

Melrose Place- courtyard

[ she heard avacoming. but as long as it wasnt Haleigh, Delilah or Nicolas...she had no reason to lash out...YET.]

[ having already donned her silver eye mask, the Silver Swan was ready to take off...but then...]

Ava said:
"Sharon, wait."

What is it, Ava?

[ she asked frankly but surprisingly without any hostility in her tone as she turned to look at the elemental.]

wow. really?

[ someone ACTUALLY getting off their high horse and not being a judgemental bitch?]

[ Sharon heard what Ava said and their stories WERE similar. Another life, one that EACH was happy with. Trauma and Tragedy that changed that life. Loss of family and loved one. Being brought/returned against her will. Not knowing what to do, how to start again in a new place with new circumstances...being RESENTFULL.]

Ava, we've both suffered the loss of family. It's something you never forget. I lost my husband and son to the same people that ended up murdering me , then bringing me back from the dead as THIS. I LIKE who and what i've become now...but to be JUDGED by the same people i dedicated my and ultimate gave my life for as a senator...simply because I'm no longer the same woman they knew...its more than i can take...or TOLERATE. No amount of Amazon training can allow me to suffer their [gesturing toward Haleigh's apartment] judgement.

[ sighing.]

...Thank you for speaking to me like a HUMAN BEING.

There are moments where I wonder why I'm here, why i came back from Themyscria...I thought I knew until recently with all that's be going on... [especially referring to Nicolas' apparent betrayal of her]

But You're right. this is bigger than any personal problems we have amongst ourselves and...I will rejoin the team for this.

[ Ava was right, Morgan had trusted Sharon and obviously given her a vote of confidence the others didnt. Sharon owed it to Morgan to proove her right REGARDLESS of what the others thought.]

I'm ready to go.

[ She said as she walked with Ava back to Haleigh's apartment.]

The airport needs us.

Delilah took one of the injectors from Nicolas with trepidation. These were fine for them, but what about the thousands of people who didn’t have them? She was glad Nicolas suggested using Ava’s control of the weather, though – she was not looking forward to trying to sustain a giant forcefield around the airport.

Sharon wasn’t with them, and Delilah was frankly glad. She refused to work WITH them and so would just end up a liability. Delilah didn’t have a problem with Sharon usually, but she was acting like such a stuck up, self-centered bitch that Delilah didn’t even want to bother trying with her.

She took a deep breath.

“Everyone ready?”

She looked around, and noticed something was off.

“Where’s Ava?”

The goddess came in, Silver Swan in tow.

Silver Swan said:
I'm ready to go.

Well if she was ready…but what the hell was she wearing? She looks ridiculous in that outfit...

But as long as Sharon act civil, it was fine by her. She didn’t have to talk to the woman. But if she endangered this team god help her…

Delilah spread the fingers of both hands out in front of her, threads of royal blue light emanating from the tips and weaving a portal that would take them directly to LAX.

Delilah nodded to the others that it was time to go.

FINALLY, it seemed like her words actually got through to Sharon. That was a huge step in itself...hopefully one that would transition to the rest of the team.

Sharon: ...Thank you for speaking to me like a HUMAN BEING.

"Thank you for listening."

Sharon: You're right. this is bigger than any personal problems we have amongst ourselves and...I will rejoin the team for this.

Nodding, one crisis down, one to go.

"Good. The more people we have to contain this situation, the better. Lets go."

As Ava walked back to Haleigh's apartment, a tornado of winds funneled around the goddess before she reached the front door. Her workout attire had changed into her new battle attire [disregard the yellow, everything's black. and the red 'X' is a silver lightning bolt]. With her transfiguring whip wrapped around her hips like a belt, and mystic daggers holstered one on each thigh, she was ready to head out to LAX.

Haleigh gave Nicolas a grateful smile but said nothing else on the subject, as pretty much everyone disregarded Haleigh's warning and decided at once that they'd all go. Haleigh was beyond relieved. She didn't want to have to go alone, but also didn't want to force anyone into it, after what went down this morning. Delilah asked if it was intentional bioterrorism. Ava agreed but mused that the plane crashing into the terminal was a coincidence. Haleigh shook her head.

"I don't think that's a coincidence at ALL. Think about it. A protest against possible illegal and unethical testing being done by the Wilpharma corporation is going on at the airport because a senator tied to Wilpharma is coming through the B terminal. Zombies take over THAT VERY TERMINAL at LAX and within MINUTES of that attack, a plane scheduled to land at LAX mysteriously malfunctions and crashes into THAT TERMINAL? No. This HAD to have been well planned and expertly executed and when we're done cleaning this up, we'll need to look into who's behind it."

Delilah: How do we contain this? The last thing we need is that stuff spreading to the entire city.

"The humans can't be trusted to deal with this on their own. However, we can reduce the biohazard to a level they can handle. The TO virus needs a working, undamaged brain to reanimate and operate its host. Destroy the brain, 'kill' the host. Without operable hosts, the virus will be weak enough for the CDC to contain. WE must make sure there are NO remaining active hosts."

They make plans. Delilah will take them there, Ava will give them cold weather. Haleigh, of course, will make sure NO electronics work within a ten mile radius, creating an effective blackout that will keep them from being filmed, and keep the humans distracted while they work.

"Nicolas, you telekinetically seal ALL entrances and exits so no one gets OUT. Doors, windows, AIR VENTS, anything and everything. Cameron, you subtly deflect anyone interested in trying to get IN."

Haleigh considers having Cameron contact Sharon. She didn't really LIKE the idea, but this affected Sharon as well and it seemed irresponsible to 'neglect' to notify her. But then, it turned out she wouldn't have to bother. Sharon came back to Melrose and AVA, of all people, slipped out of Haleigh's apartment quietly to intercept her. Haleigh didn't call attention to it. Delilah asked if everyone was ready and then noticed Ava was missing. As if being summoned back, Ava returns, with Sharon right behind her.

Sharon: I'm ready to go. The airport needs us.

Haleigh kept her cool, professional demeanor. If Sharon wasn't going to START any shit, there didn't have to BE any shit [right now anyway].

"Very well. Nicolas had suggested we split up into teams to cover more ground an I think that's an excellent idea. Unless anyone objects, Nicolas, Delilah and I will start at the west end of the terminal and Ava, Cameron and Sharon can start at the east end. We'll meet in the middle."

She really HATED that division, especially Ava being on the other side of the split, but it was not wise for Delilah, Haleigh or Nicolas to be isolated with Sharon right now and if Ava went with them, it'd leave Cameron and Sharon short-handed. In addition, Ava seemed to have found a way to relate to Sharon amicably, so logically, this was the best set up. Each subdivision of the team had a telepath and they could contact each other with the speed of thought and regroup with the speed of light, so splitting up into team that would be able to work with the least possibility for argument was the best idea right now.

suprise

<< the tension between Haleigh and Sharon was thick. But the more time that passed the more it seemed that Sharon might actually hate Delilah and Nicolas MORE than Haleigh. With HALEIGH, at LEAST it was one specific issue between them. But Delilah's judgement and Nicolas' Betrayal, THOSE things were utterly intolerable for Sharon. What that would mean in the long term would have to wait and Sharon was prepared to object to Haleigh's plan of action because they didnt have a precog and Delilah's "wormholes" werent quite as multi functional as Morgan's stepping discs. Seperating the groups was a BAD idea but that would become apparent soon enough.>>

<< the team gathered together, each in their latest battle outfits and ready to go. Delilah's dazzling wormhole effect manifests and as they take their first step in, they are transported at light speed across a vast distance to arrive at the terminal, just inside the blockade.>>

<< it is on total lockdown with military units and local law enforcement everywhere along with the CDC and other hazard management entities. curiously there are also WILPHARMA trucks carrying supplies of an alleged (and still highly experimental) ANTIVIRUS that is reported to REVERSE the effects of T Virus infection and even zombiefication. but the well publicized results, released by Terra Save in a bold strike against WilPharma, showed that most test subjects (all children and youth, and all overseas) had DIED in the process. Some had saw the virus halted and zombies [who had been purposefully infected] were rendered...LESS dangerous but died in a transitional state. >>

<< the Six saw the chaos but the USMC were doing a vliant job of mounting containment and rescue efforts AND bracing for a possible battle with zombies. the legacy of mystech from its beginnings until Mastermold was evident. things that had once been thought to be only in horror movies were now all too real.>>

<< before the Six could embark on their dangerous attempt, they were NOTICED and approached by a woman who from the looks of her appeared to be the commanding officer. She was. the ELITE group of the military operation here was the Special Response Team and She commanded them. >>

Commander Angel Miller: Black Widow, Silver Swan a.k.a Former Senator Sharon Kelly...I'd recognize either of you anywhere.

<< She was JUST as knowledgeable and well connected as Haleigh and Sharon had been in theier earlier days. in fact, they would recognize HER as being one of the survivors of ALYCIA's FORCE WORKS squad. She was present during the Arklay incident, guarding the road and blocking all outside access to the path that lead to the mansion. MUCH had changed for her since them.>>

I'm Commander Miller. << shaking Haleigh and Sharon's hand>>

Truth be told, you're just what we need right now. We have survivors in there, our sensors have detected HUMAN EEG activity. Follow me.

My unit is prepared...we've encountered this before when we worked for....Alycia Barnett.

<< she said Alycia's name with a haunted, mournfull tone. It was the first time many of the SIX had heard Alycia's name in a while as well. How unfortunate that a situation like THIS would bring forth her name.>>

<< the tall, toned, beautifull brunette woman leads them to the command center. inside was pretty impressive hardware, both weaponry and other technology. just as they arrived, one of her officers quickly summoned her.>>

Officer: Commander Miller, we're receiving a transmission from INSIDE the terminal. Someone is trying to contact us.

Angel Miller: Establish a channel, quickly!

<< she looks back at the new arrivals.>>

we could go in there ANYTIME, but WE cant...im the ranking officer but I'M being told to WAIT by some IDIOT in Washington and I can't go against orders.

<< Haleigh could see the frustration in Angel's face.>>

But YOU are civilians and YOU can get in....and get those people out. But that's ALL I can look the other way on. The rest , you HAVE to leave up to us.

<< she hoped Haleigh and Sharon would understand. at that moment, the channel was established....and what a SHOCK Angel, Haleigh, Sharon and the rest of the Six would get.>>

Officer: This is United States Marines- Special Response Team.

Alycia Barnett: THis is ALYCIA BARNETT! I have six other survivors here, including Senator Ron Davis and a child who was ORPHANED during the initial outbreak in the terminal! The Senator is hurt and the child is in shock and needs medical attention! We need help getting out of here!

<< Alycia's voice! it was really HER! Angel Miller, who had a composed demeanor about her looked VISIBLY shaken.>>

Sharon: ALYCIA!

<< the mutate exclaimed at the sound of her dear friend. Angel Miller held up her hand for silence.>>

Commander Miller: Alycia, this is Commander....ANGEL. Where are you?

Alycia: Angel! we're the V.I.P lounge.

Commander Miller: Alright, We know where to find you. Stay hidden, Alycia! and we're on our way.

<< the officer closes the channel and Angel draws the six over to a LARGE blueprint of the terminal.>>

the VIP lounge is here.

<< pointing to a large circular area facing east.>>

the jet is lodged in this other portion of the terminal and right now, containment is established. any creature that comes near the doors of the terminal is shot down. we can verify if they are alive or not with the eeg scanners...surviving arklay forest and mansion...and learning what i did from my former commanding officer, Alycia taught us a few things.

<< she looks at them.>>

your best option is to go to the roof and enter DOWN, undetected. you can use this hall to get to the lounge and bypass the majority of the bio hazards.

Get them out. Bring Alycia back safely! << Angel's own emotion showed in that statement>>

Let US deal with the rest. and take these!

<< bringing out Alycia's custom designed golden Desert Eagles and hands them to Sharon.>>

give them to her [Alycia]. she gave them to ME when she and Will were planning to escape the Captiol with their lives. give them BACK to her. She needs them now more than ever.

I'll see you all back HERE when you get out.

<< meaning that there was MORE to this than a rescue mission. and for the Six, the rescue mission just became THAT much more urgent and personal. Alycia was BACK in mainstream world, alive and HERE of all places. But HOW? Why hadnt she contacted them? How did she come to be at the airport during THIS disaster? Important questions [and just a few among many] that would have to WAIT. For NOW, they had to get to her and the others and they STILL didnt know CLAUDIA was among the group with Alycia. Angel Miller seemed to be on top of her game and was more than willing to work WITH the Six as long as they played by HER book and they could understand that.>>

Delilah ushered the others through the wormhole before taking one last look at the peace of Melrose Place and following. Coming to the other side, she snapped her fingers and the wormhole closed, leaving them there surrounded by the chaos.

She was actually quite impressed with the police and military efforts she saw in place already. They had brought SWAT in, and Commander Miller led them into the control center. She was actually giving them the *winkwink* go-ahead to mount a rescue op, which was surprising. It made for a nice change.

They were able to view the distress call from the inside, and Delilah gasped.

“Alycia!”

What was she doing there? She had to fight the urge to tear up as Angel produced Alycia’s trademark weapons. They had to get inside, and quickly.

“Okay, so how do we get to the roof?”

Lax

:: Before he knew it, everyone in the Six (including Sharon, much to the dismay of some) were on their way to LAX to face something they really didn't know the gravity of. Even though the travel to the aiport was instantaneous, Cameron got the psychic impression that there was more to this. He may have not been a precog like his sister but he was a strong telepath in his own right, and as soon as they touched ground in LAX, he felt like somebody from everyone's past was about to resurface, he just wasn't sure who and in what capacity. He kept his thoughts to himself. ::

:: The scene was entirely "official". The entire aiport was on lockdown and was swarming with law enforcements and other variations of government ogranization, among them the Marines. It was strange being among all these people who were EMPLOYED to save lives, to protect the country, when Cameron and the Six had been through unspeakable things, all in the name of protecting those who didn't know or care who they were, all without medals of honor or rewards, most of the time, their battles ended in strife, in tragedy. ::

:: A few moments later, they were noticed by a woman who introduced herself as Commander Angel Miller, who seemed to be in charge of the entire operation. She was tall and beautiful and had an almost eerie sense of tranquility about her admist the chaos that was unfolding hundreds of feet away. She spoke of the current situation. ::

Angel Miller: My unit is prepared...we've encountered this before when we worked for...Alycia Barnett.

:: It was the first time he had heard Alycia's name in a very long time, and it took him a few moments to comprehend why he hadn't heard it sooner. He knew she was away, but he also knew she was closely alligned with the Six, perhaps their biggest watchdog, protector. He admitted to himself that it did seem a little odd to be surrounded by military and government officials and have Alycia be absent. Suddenly an Officer announced someone was trying to make contact with them. Angel Miller flew into action, establishing a connection. And then he heard her voice. ::

Alycia Barnett: This is ALYCIA BARNETT! I have six other survivors here, including Senator Ron Davis and a child who was ORPHANED during the initial outbreak in the terminal! The Senator is hurt and the child is in shock and needs medical attention! We need help getting out of here!

:: Cameron was floored. Alycia was in Los Angeles? What for? How long had she been back? There were too many questions and not enough time for answers or speculation. In this case, Cameron reiterated Sharon's response. ::

"Alycia!"

:: He was reminded of when Alycia was captured by Rick Riley. She had been captured and Cameron had left his mind open, hoping she would try and make contact, and being the resourceful woman she did. He felt the same joy in knowing she was alive then as he did now, and this time, he would be there to see through her safe rescue. Alycia Barnett was a woman who had laid her life on the line more than a few times to protect them, and a woman who seemed to have a knack for getting into sticky situations. He often wondered how she was able to endure the things she had been through and still be a functioning adult, but somehow she had, and right now, she needed their help. ::

:: Commander Miller explained the situation to them all carefully and gave them a plan of action. Cameron was impressed by this woman's intelligence and tactical skills. He didn't see anything wrong with the plan and he was ready to go in and face whatever to rescue those that needed it. ::

"Alright.. Let's Go.."

Arriving at LAX, the six were greeted by a woman who formally worked with Alycia Barnett. She breifed them on the current situation and how there were in fact civilians inside LAX that were yet to be infected by the TO virus. As everyone headed over to a state of the art communications van, a very surprising twist suddenly happened. Alycia Barnett was one of the people trapped within LAX.

In unison:

Sharon: "ALYCIA!" Delilah: “Alycia!” Cameron: “Alycia!”

Far less enthusiastic.

[deadpan] "Great."

It wasn't any secret Ava wasn't a huge fan of Alycia Barnett's. She found her hostile, obnoxious, and far too confident for her taste. But apparently everyone else was super excited she was back. With Angel Miller taking command of the goverment side of things, the six were free to go into LAX and do what they did best. But first, Ava needed to reinforce the outter perimeter of the airport, just in case the SWAT, CIA, FBI, and police teams couldn't do their job.

Everyone would instantly notice the warm California breeze drop in temperature as Ava manipulated it from 70 degrees to a chilling 40.

"I have it at 40 degrees around a 2 mile radius of LAX. That should slow any zombies down if they happen to escape."

With the outside dealt with, now it was time for them to actually enter ground zero.

Commander Angel Miller: Black Widow, Silver Swan aka former Senator Sharon Kelly… I'd recognize either of you anywhere.

Haleigh turned at the mention of her callsign. Angel approached and Haleigh recognized HER too. She used to be with Force Works. It was nice to see the woman had survived and found a new unit to be effective with. Haleigh could recall that angel had an exemplary record and definitely deserved her new position. The Commander reached out to shake hands and remind them of her name. Haleigh took her hand gently, wearing a smile that looked vaguely of approval.

"I know who you are. It's good to see you here. What an excellent turn of events. [glancing around at the effort] It looks like you've done a very good job, I'm impressed. I guess I underestimated the human response capability. I've never been more pleased to be so mistaken."

Officer: Commander Miller, we're receiving a transmission from INSIDE the terminal. Someone is trying to contact us.

Miller: Establish a channel, quickly! [to the Six] We could go in there ANYTIME, but WE cant… I'm the ranking officer but I'm being told to WAIT by some IDIOT on Washington and I can't go against orders.

The commander admitted with great frustration. Haleigh smiled slyly, pointing out a loophole.

"Well, the thing is… [gesturing to her team] WE don't take orders. Free country and all that."

The commander was already going there, and agreed to look the other way as they snuck in. Shortly thereafter, the connection was established and a very familiar voice announced her situation. Alycia Barnett and six others were holed up in the VIP room. A couple of her teammates were visibly and audibly surprised. Haleigh kept a stoic expression. Well that's a bit freaky. The Commander here is the first person to say her name in MONTHS and suddenly, here Alycia is. She traced the transmission, sure enough, back to the VIP lounge. The voice sounded authentic enough. Haleigh tossed a glance to Nicolas, who confirmed with a nod that it DID in fact appear to be Alycia in his mental check. Haleigh turned her attention back to Commander Miller, who was giving them a fast-paced brief about the status quo and the best route to the VIP lounge. Haleigh smiled to herself, not stopping the woman, despite the fact that Haleigh had already downloaded and memorized the floor plan. She also didn't mention the fact that they weren't worried about trying to bypass any biohazards. If something happened upon them, the threat would be dealt with. This was NOT their first rodeo. Haleigh didn't care to make the woman feel obsolete. She was trying to be helpful and the assistance was appreciated. It made a rescue attempt easier, if they didn't ALSO have to worry about eradicating the outbreak.

Delilah: Okay, so how do we get to the roof?

Well, they go commandeer a helicopter and get dropped off, but that might draw attention. Haleigh pointed to her 2 o'clock as the temperature began to drop, no doubt due to Ava. Not only did Haleigh's breath come out in wisps of steam, but heat visibly radiated from her body.

"There's a fire escape that's also used for roof maintenance access right over there."

Ava: I have it at 40 degrees around a 2mile radius of LAX. That should slow any zombies down if they happen to escape.

[nodding, then turning to Angel] "I'm going to shut down all the press equipment, but I'll leave you and the military with open lines of communication and operable surveillance equipment. I'll record some footage of the inside so you have up to date intel for when you go in. [adjusting an earpiece] If you need ANYTHING, call me. I'm on your secure line."

Lax

[ there was so much she heard, on a level beyond anyone else present. she could be back in Arklay with the sounds she heard here. But it was different. the humans present, they were all focused, PREPARED in ways that those who had been assaulted with this bio hazard nightmare in the past were not. Sharon KNEW that the the more efficient response to these now termed "bio terror" events was due in part to HER sacrifice. It was encouraging to see how things had changed since her death and even more since her return from Themyscria. ]

[ the moment she heard Alycia's voice, Sharon was touched on a personal level. Unlike other people on this current roster of the Six, Alycia was a true friend, and they were now Amazon sisters as well, forever changed by their themyscria. Sharon would lay down her life for Alycia and Alycia would do the same for her if necessary. As Commander Miller handed Sharon Alycia's trademark weapons, fully loaded, Sharon took the weapons.]

She'll have them back. I'll see to it.

[ as they now prepared to make their way to the terminal itself Sharon listend and spoke up.]

Once we get to the fire escape, Persephone can generate a wind strong enough to carry everyone who can't fly up to the roof top. that will save us precious time. I'll fly up top and get the hatch open and deal with anything that might be lurking there.

[ Sharon said matter of factly. She was ready to go and save her friend, unaware that CLAUDIA was among those OTHERS needing saving too.]
