This is going to be a VERY long rant....you can read it or not, I don't care, I just need a place to vent. And seeing as how I don't have a PHONE (which i'll get into during the rant, believe me), the only way I can vent is through the computer.
Let's see...where should I even start! Okay, I was living in Jacksonville FL; moved there in April of last year. My mother hated the area, for whatever reasons, and decided that she wanted to move the family all the way to North Dakota. She also had some valid reasons as well, such as Jax was extremely expensive, the crime was very high, ect. So my mom wanted to move out into the country, and set some "roots". So my mom found this house in Maddock ND and decided to rent it from the guy, sight unseen. AGAIN! My mother did this when we moved from PA to FL; got some house sight unseen, and believed every damn word out of our renters mouth, and when we got there, it was a complete dump. So we actually moved again, a month later, to a different house a couple of minutes away. (BTW, that renter screwed us over so bad....but karma bit him in the ass. He had a heart attack and died.

).
Anyhow, I kept telling my mother, don't do this, it's stupid, you don't know these people, they just want to make a profit out of you. But noooooooo, why listen to a 19 year old girl who doesn't know "anything" about this world. Right. Well we traveled 30 hours.......
30 hours. Actually it was slightly more than 30 hours...but 30 fucking hours, cross country. From 75 degrees to -13 degrees to North Dakota. Beautiful state, very flat and snowy...no problems with the state, other than the fact I enjoy cities. So being in such an unpopulated area just doesn't appeal to me. So as we're driving through ND toward Maddock, my fears were slowly growing thinking, oh god....i'm going to be living in bumble fuck. But what kept me going was the fact, okay...i'm going to be living in this beautiful house. I just have to deal with everything until July, and i'm moving out.
So we arrive in Maddock, the actual town. I never been in a town like this....and quite honestly, I didn't even know towns like this existed anymore. This "town" has 4 very lonnnng streets going north and south....THAT'S IT. And first street is the street with all the stores. "All" as in 5. They have a post office (I have a PO Box address because the mail doesn't come all the way out to this town), a cafe/bowling lanes. There are only 4 lanes I might add. A hardware store, a food store....not much of one, and town hall. Oh it's delightful, really. So, after realizing that i've died and gone to a very bitter cold hell, I kept thinking, okay, the house is going to be awesome, it's going to be pretty. WRONG.
The house......oooooooooooooh, the house. The first room we walked into was the kitchen. If you even want to CALL it a kitchen. It looked like a damn nuclear bomb went off in the place. The floors were completely torn up and cracked. There were NO kitchen appliences at all. The cabinets were broken and some were gone. The entire kitchen was a run down dump. And dump is an understatement. Then you walk from the kitchen into the diningroom. Now the guy said the entire place had brand new carpeting...he lied. It was all hardwood flooring; which normally isn't bad. But the wood flooring is from the 1900's when the place was first built, so it was dindgy and scratched and old. So it wasn't too appealing. The diningroom was the nicest room in the house...which isn't saying much. But when you go to the left, you walk into a 12 foot hole that's supposed to be the master bedroom. And from there is a bathroom, that the guy BUILT himmself. And it looks like it too....the tialing is uneven, you can see plaster on the corners of the walls, the painting isn't even done. My ten year old sister could have done a better job. The only nice thing in that bathroom was a brand new whirlpool tub, that doesn't even WORK. Turning to the right (from the diningroom) is the livingroom. It's dark, gross, creepy, and cold. And then some.
Then you head upstairs where the house is actually carpeted....with carpet that looks 50 years old. It's torn, stainted, and clinging onto the tack strips for dear life. You turn to the left and you have my sisters room; rightfully known as the blue room. Why you ask? Because it's the bluest blue i've EVER seen in my life. Mind you, we have floor plans with this house before we came here (and pictures...which were a complete lie I might add. How they did it I have no idea...), and the room was not the size the man told us. In fact, it was less than HALF the size. Then you go into the middle room, which is mine, and it's again, half the size he told us, but still relatively big. And the to the left, you have the last room. The yellow room. It's the size of a shoe box (no really...it is), with no carpeting, and no heater. So it's like a yellow ice box. And of course the bathroom, which was disgusting and looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the 70's. Pretty much smelled like that as well.
So here we have a house, that we're supposed to live in, in a town so isolated I had to cancel my cell service (for free because Verizon even saw how remote of a town we lived in) because there isn't a tower within a 60 mile radius, in a state where we have no family or friends. And the house was a complete run down dump. Now my discriptions can't even do what my family walked into, justice. Escalate it by 20 and you might get the picture. But oh nooo, that's not the end of it. No no no. Why should it be? My life as of right now is pretty much shit, why not fuck it up some more. We have no water. We have water in the toilet, but we have no water coming out of the pipes for the sinks and showers. And because of the snow, a plumber hasn't been able to come out here and fix it....so I haven't taken a shower in 5 days. I'm about to throw up myself, yes, thank you, don't say anything rude because I might snap your neck. We have no appliences, as I said, so all our food is out in the snow...that is our freezer. The people had the nerve to leave their trash and furniture in the house as well for us to clean up, because we didn't have enought to clean up as it was. AND, the place is infested with flies. Not normal black house flies...these weird striped, long flies that live in the old wood and come out to get warm.
But this isn't even the best part yet. Surprised? Why should you be! Well, my mother was pregnant...key word, WAS. She got pregnant back in January (my parents were trying for another baby for over a year), and finally, she got her wish. My parents were excited, me and my sister were sort of shocked...but anyhow, yeah, she was pregnant. The stress from the cross country move and the condition of this place when we walked into it. And the fact that we knew no one, had no family, or even a hotel that we could stay in that wasn't 45 minutes away; not to mention our furniture was arriving that day, that my mom miscarried and lost the baby. So now, my mom wants to leave again. Hitch a U-Haul, pack only the necessary things, and move back down to FL.....another 30 hours. But not to our old house...no, to live with my grandparents until we get situated enough that we can go find another place to live. God knows if this will actually happen...but knowing my mother, it will. This has been the week of hell, on so many levels, it's not even funny. I can't tell you how stressed (and disgusting *gag*) I feel right now. Thank god for the internet otherwise I would be loosing my mind.
But there you have it. My move from Jacksonville FL to Maddock North Dakota, in a nut shell. It's been fun ladies and gents....now i'm going to go watch my soap.
