:: Cameron arrived at the restaurant with his sister and Ava in tow as they headed towards the maitre'd allowing him to compell the man to sit them in the VIP section regardless of their lack on reservation. They made their way to the plush section of the restaurant as he pulled out the chairs for both of the ladies before sitting down himself. ::

"I am absolutely famished. This is one of the best restaurants in town. Though I am certain your distinguished pallats will find it a bore."

:: Soon the waiter arrived as Cameron ordered a nice bottle of champagne while everyone was looking over the menu. It truly was great to see his sister and Ava after they had been jetsetting for awhile but he knew the real reason they had come. They knew something was strange in Raccoon City and it wasn't the name of the town. ::

:: Looking at his surroundings. Part of the problem was that Mystech was monitoring pretty much everything in the entire city. They kept tabs on everything and everyone. They knew everything. That was one of the reasons people dissappeared. He was a little scared to talk about the strange things he had seen in his dreams and the things he felt while working in his office downtown. Not to mentioned that he got a physical SENSATION everytime he saw a bottle of Rejuvenation and not just because Morgan Victoria was on the box ;) ::

"I reccomend the seared Ahi Tuna... it's delicious! On a more serious note, while it's nice to see you, I can't help but wonder the real reason you've stopped to visit... I have my ideas... If you'd rather not talk about it I understand..."

Mike's jaw STILL stung a bit. She hit a like dude...a cock-strong one at THAT. But there was something else...a halo around her hand, a flash of power in her eyes. There was no doubt that she was a super.

That made sense, Mike cursed himself for not seeing it sooner. That would explain why her daughters actually survived their encounter with whatever-the-fuck in the woods. He sped off, back to the office to pull up old files.

He STILL had dreams of that night, of the shit they encountered. It wasn't so much fear as loss...Haleigh was a good person, a sharp CO and they were all rather close, despite the businesslike atmosphere of their interaction. The fact that she gave herself up for them and no one seemed to level with them about what was going on made him want to shoot up the place, go rogue at times. But he still felt the need to work from within, to uphold law and order, and so...for now... he stayed.

He the turned to Karen Victoria and her file. For someone so well-known, her file was extremely thin, and so he tried to access further.

CLASSIFIED.

CLASSIFIED.

CLASSIFIED.

What was it about her,...why so many secrets. Clearly she was hiding something, and she clearly hated the RPD for not investigating further into her daughter's attack...little did she know that cost his CO her life. He studied everything else he could find and then he stood quickly, deciding that he needed to see her, see them in a less-formal setting. He knew it was a risk, with the likelihood that everyone in their party was a super, but he also knew that he needed to get to the bottom of things, and Karen Victoria was ready to crack, in spite of her hard exterior. If not her, maybe her daughters would be of help. surely they would want to figure out who attacked Blaze and bring justice to them.

Mike went home and showered, changing into appropriate attire for the evening and getting into his car. He would have no problem getting in anywhere; all of the security worked out at the same place, and most of them spent more time listening to his stories and sucking up than training.

the restaurant

:: Alison and Cameron had powers that afforded them similar results. She was a precog/witch and he was a powerfull telepath. Both could anticipate other people's moves and manipulate the outcome of circumstances and events accordingly that is how they both came to be so fabulously wealthy and while they were brother and sister they had starkly different lives. He was a business man and playboy, she was a lofty jet setter who preferred to travel abroad than be hampered by the uptight, hypocritical ways of America. Besides, being a "super" in america under the shadow of MYSTECH was a risky prospect no matter who you were. thankfully for the siblings, their powers allowed them to live in plain sight.::

:: their lives in childhood were secrets they kept from everyone, even those closest to either of them such as Morgan and Ava. but their adult lives were the stuff dreams were made of. no one knew the root of the success and as far as they were concerned, they werent WRONG for using their powers to carve out comfortable, successfull lives for themselves.::

:: Despite Alison's psi screen, Cameron had access to her mind via their bond as siblings. she STILL had the mental discipline to keep him from freely scanning her mind though...but even inspite of that, Cameron was smart enough to know there had to be a reason why Ava AND Alison suddenly appeared in Raccoon City at this of all times. He was right...it had something to do with Ava's sister but even he didnt know how far reaching this was going to go. ::

:: as t hey were seated and began to scan the menus, Cameron offered his recommendation and KNEW that Alison was ALREADY bored with the selection this restaurant had to offer despite it being one of the BEST and most expensive in town.::

there's something about sampling authentic cuisine abroad that just makes most american fare seem a bit...FLAT?

:: she said laughing softly a bit as her brother knew her quite well.::

and i'm sure they don't serve HEMLOCK here either.

:: she said with a pouting tone.::

I'll try your suggestion , baby brother. but I'm sorry....

:: letting her arm fall down and her hand open beneath the table, she TELEBLINKS a bottle of ::

Hemlock

I simply can't drink these bland mortal concoctions. its a shame...

:: she said in a low tone::

that you two are mystical supers...you'd LOVE the taste of this elixir...it's simply wonderfull!

:: quitely bringing the bottle up to the table. Cameron would ensure that the waiter would not notice the additional bottle.::

Cameron said:
On a more serious note, while it's nice to see you, I can't help but wonder the real reason you've stopped to visit... I have my ideas... If you'd rather not talk about it I understand..."

:: Alison took a drink from her goblet and her facial expression became a bit more serious. she looked at Ava and then at Cameron. She decided to let ava answer the question in a way she felt most comfortable, that would be the only for Ava to get in better shape mentally...by TALKING about it. The deeper details they would discuss soon after.::

:: for her part, Alison's sense as a precog allowed her to see multiple time threads from most probable to most remote and now as as good a time as any to clue Cameron in on why they were there. ::

Arriving at the restaurant, the trio were immediately taken back to the VIP suite and seated. The benefits of being 'special'. ;) The establishment was quaint....not exactly the five star restaurants in Paris or Milan, but it would due. Thanking Cameron as he pulled her seat out, Ava crossed her legs at the knee and sat back, getting more comfortable.

Cameron: "I am absolutely famished. This is one of the best restaurants in town. Though I am certain your distinguished pallats will find it a bore."

"I'm sure it's fine, Cam."

Cameron: "I reccomend the seared Ahi Tuna... it's delicious!"

Closing the menu, Ava didn't want to take any chances with the sea food in midwestern United States.

"I'll stick with the salad."

Taking a sip of the champagne Cameron ordered, it wasn't half bad. But Alison opted on sticking with her Hemlock.

Cameron: "On a more serious note, while it's nice to see you, I can't help but wonder the real reason you've stopped to visit... I have my ideas... If you'd rather not talk about it I understand..."

Glancing over to Alison just as she looked over at her, Ava swallowed the swig of champagne she had in her mouth and placed the glass down on the table.

"We're here because of Haleigh. The circumstances surrounding her supposed 'death' don't sit well with me. And this....STARS company or whatever the hell they call themselves, are doing a half-assed job at best at trying to figure out what happened to her."

Ava's tone was sharp and bitter at the thought of the people who were trying to 'help' Haleigh.

"My sister's like a cockroach, Cameron....and I say that in the most loving of ways. She is resilient as hell and hard to get rid of. She's still alive, I KNOW it...but for how long is what scares me. She's somewhere in this godforsaken town, and i'm afraid if we [herself and Alison] don't find her soon, she WILL end up dead."

in the restaurant

:: Alison was a bit more serious at this point. Having "mentally" asked her brother to divert any possible attention to their table from wandering minds and eyes nearyby away with his psi powers.::

:: As Ava spoke, Alison followed up.::

You know me, Cameron. I'd NEVER come to a town like this, even for vacation but now that I'm here...i sense something monstrous building up. this entire city is a facade, its citizens...are unknowingly marching toward oblivion.

:: an ominous statement indeed.::

I couldnt let Ava come here alone and I have determined that in order for us to dig deeper in our search for Haleigh, we'll need help...YOURS Cameron, along with Morgan, another witch and her sister.

:: she KNEW that Cameron was aware of the unusual vibe that permeated Raccoon City. His psi powers must have made him privvy to some stray thoughts etc. She also knew that despite his success and stature here...he was still one man, and a mutant, if outed, there was no telling WHAT would happen to him.::

:: she plide her well manicured hand across the table and placed it on her baby brother's hand::

There is extreme risk. My magick tells me that even WE are not guaranteed an easy or even a successfull attempt but Ava is my friend...I couldnt let her do this alone and we need your help. There are people here who will try to halt our efforts.

We don't have time to "follow the chain of command". They failed Haleigh and they will be of LITTLE use to us.

You might want to take a few days off..."personal days". I see us coming to the conlusion of this in 3 days...

at the restaurant

:: Cameron listened as both of the women confirmed his suspicions that they were looking to see what really happened to Haleigh and he felt comforted to know that he wasn't the only one who felt in their bones that something BIG was brewing in Raccoon City. He took a sip of champagne as he continued the mental block he had on other patrons in the restaurant to keep them from listening in on their conversation. He let out a sigh. ::

"I have to say I am relieved that you are here. For the longest time i've had my suspicions. I don't think Haleigh is dead either, Ava. STARS must have been close to figuring out something about.."

:: He didn't dare say the name Mystech outloud ::

"About what goes on around here. And I'm not sure STARS will do any more good with that hotshot Michael Armstrong at the helm of the organization right now.. i'm not sure how much time there is left..."

:: As the food arrived, all conversation subsided for a moment as Cameron took a bit of his meal, savoring every delicious bite. He may not be as cultured as his sister but he knew when he was having a GOOD meal. ::

"Living in this town, with the abilities I have been afforded in life have made me more than aware of some things that have been going on here for a LONG time. People I have KNOWN to be "super" dissappearing, unusual crimes. Some of the thoughts here scream so loud that it's all I can do to keep them out of my head. Word to the wise, if you ever become able to hear the thoughts of others, do NOT drive by Raccoon City Hospital."

:: Taking another bite of his Seared Ahi Tuna he looked to his sister. ::

"This is extremely dangerous, Alison I know. But as much as you may not like this place. For the time being, it's my home. I can't stand by any longer and NOT know the truth, not knowing if the next person on the list of deaths to be ME. I am on top of the personal time. I informed my secretary Penny before I went to lunch that you and Ava are in town and I expect to spend as much time as possible with the both of you."

:: He placed his fork down, and wiped his face with a napkin and took a swig of the champagne on the table. ::

"As for the subject of Morgan and Blaze, while I think both of them will help and I would love for them to... ::smirks :: They might be a little resistant. I've sensed some kind of change in both of them lately. I can't put my finger on it but I have a feeling it might all be connected. Plus the fact I am neither of their favorite person.."

:: Cameron let out a small laugh ::

"My attempts over the years have been less than admirable I guess..."

the restaurant

<< at that very moment, zooming from one angle to another and across the VIP dining area, Morgan , Blaze and Karen had been seated unaware that thier friends were in the same space as them.>>

<< This was a posh establishment and only those who could afford it would be here so the likelyhood of those of the "upper crust" bumping into one another here was not terribly remote. still, it was definately more than a curious coincidence.>>

<< the sisters and their mother sat, quitely mulling over the menu. Morgan opted for a garden salad, like Ava. She was thinking of her figure...in a most irrational way :D Karen, who hardly had an appetite following the events of the day so far ordered a salad but allowed herself to splurge by having fresh cut, grilled chicken brease slices added and Blaze, being the most liberal of the three when it came to dining out, ordered what she will.>>

Mom...

<< Morgan said as they waited and sipped on their beverages.>>

Are you okay? your eyes...they look a little strained.

Karen: << sitting prime and poised and looking out of the one picture window onto the streets of the downtown area.>> Oh...its just this hazy air. I had an early morning at the hospital and the pollen count is much higher today than usual...

<< another lie, Morgan knew there was more.>>

no...mother, please. stop shutting me...US out! you've been running yourself ragged for days...WEEKS. you don't talk to us anymore...not like you used to. we may be grown, but we're still your daughters and we love you. I KNOW something is wrong! we share a bond remember? << a bond that goes beyond any psi screen.>> but you keep doing your BEST to block me out. its been like this ever since...what happened to Blaze.

Karen: << looking at her daughter in disbelief, she immediately begins to stonewall.>> oh for heaven's sake, child. << in an exasperated but contained tone.>> is this what you invited me here for? what do you want from me? what more can I possibly do?

Morgan: i want you to TALK to us! we're your daughters but we're also grown women, what's so WRONG that you can't come to US of all people?

<< Karen looked stern from across the table.>>

Keep your voice down, young lady. We're here to dine and talk amonst ourselves not put on an impromptu dinner theatre performance of "terms of endearment".

<< at that moment her hand held device in her coach purse began to chime. she was receiving an alert. breaking for a moment, she reached into her purse and pulled out the device. her opal blue eyes scanned the alert and information that scrolled down the screen.>>

the research facility. HE's making progress!

<< Karen would have to journey once again to the secret research facility which was actually inside the mysterious Arklay Mansion deep within that spooky forest. but not yet...>>

<< wanting to proove her daughters wrong at least once for the first time in a while, Karen calmly place the device back in her purse.>>

Listen, I appreciate your concern...its just the stress of my profession, something I knew I would have to shoulder coming into it...

<< a half truth.>>

That pestilence, Michael Armstrong of the R.P.D. came by my office today. He was fishing for something that wasnt there. If only they had been as EAGER to "investigate" when....when Blaze suffered through her ordeal. At anyrate, I sent him on his way. No wonder Delilah took a personal leave of absence. If i had to deal with him...i'd want to leave too.

<< the man was infuriating, but beneath that, there was a genuinely good heart , Karen sensed that, which made the idea of her almost "coming out" to him with her secret burden ALMOST tolerable but there was too much at stake....for her and her family's personal safety. she knew what had happen to OTHERS...like Robert Kelly and others beside him.>>

I'm just...tired is all.

what about the two of you?

<< she asked in a softer tone.>>

Mike entered the restaurant, nodding to the security head as he spoke quietly to the host. Mike would be allowed the basic run of the place. He was there on pleasure but would be happy to cooperate in a check of their security systems. Mike was shown to his table, in a very good area with a view of the main dining room as well as into the VIP. It was a table that the gossip writers preferred for that reason.

It was there that he saw Karen and her daughters huddling together, although by the looks of things, not particularly happily. He ordered a 10-ounce steak with lobster and baked potato, a salad to start things off. This was where his profession REALLY came in handy as it was all "on the house".

He studied them further, his eyes taking a bit of time of look over the pretty doctor. She looked twenty years younger than her ACTUAL age, but the worry in her face took away from that. He knew she wanted to speak to him today, but she still was holding back.

He ate his steak and wondered what he should do. He was tempted to go over, speak with them all, but it was clear that they were a somewhat insular bunch, and the last thing he needed was to get himself killed by a trio of supers who had no idea that he was trying to keep them safe.

And so he waited for an opening...

the restaurant

:: the arrival of Michael Armstrong would go unnoticed by most of the normals and even Karen and her group but Alison and Cameron both detected his arrival. his thoughts and memories of Haleigh stood out to Cameron and his actions, what he was planning to do were apparent to Alison. He played a key role...both as a would be protagonist AND a potential victim and just as he was seeking out answers, he would soon be SOUGHT for questioning himself.::

:: as Cameron spoke of quiet relief that his sister and ava were now in town and his own not so quiet nagging suspicions about what was hanging over the town itself, Alison nodded while she lightly ate from her plate. ::

i sense it too. i sense something coming, like a temporal wave building across the dimensions...ready to crest and explode upon arrival.

:: this was the most serious she had sounded yet...but she immediately stopped speaking after this sentence. it could be both upsetting and infuriating to those unfamiliar with her tendency to reveal cryptic, ominous warnings as a precog but even for Ava...she'd never heard Alison speak so GRIMLY of an entire city and its inhabitants. WHAT could be coming? and how did it tie in to Haleigh's mystery?::

:: at the moment, Alison was unimpressed with the flavor or consistency of the food BUT it wasnt as though they were eating under the tuscan sun or some other exotic locale and so she took it in stride...knowing she'd never have to eat here again after this...indeed, this place would probably not even BE here in 72 hours. Cameron spoke about Raccoon City hospital and the painfull beacon of human thoughts and emotions he perceived from there. ::

WE don't have time nor are we interested in Raccoon City Hospital. We'll need to go to the source...my magick has allowed me to view a place hidden in the forest on the outskirts of this town, in the mountain range called "Arklay". This place is a house of lies and unspeakable horror waiting to be unleashed. HOW it has existed this long without being noticed...

:: Alison shakes her head, realizing that this town is woefully unaware::

I see in all time threads that this place is where we'll need to be going. but we will be in mortal physical danger...

:: Cameron also shared his feelings about Haleigh and the S.T.A.R.S team.>>

The members of STARS, they are actually apart of the R.P.D. but they are largely catspaws..unwitting at that...only two of them will matter to us..the rest are either dead or will be. but again, WE'RE here for Haleigh...and while I see a great disaster coming for this city...that is not our problem. we will attempt to complete our mission and escape with our lives. that includes YOU baby brother... this may be your home right now, but i'm not leaving you here. we must convince Morgan and Blaze to join us...and FLEE the city if it becomes necessary as well.

but for now...let's just take the time to settle and blend in. Ava and I obviously dont look to be from "around here" and once people see us with Morgan, they'll KNOW we're not among the common crowd.

:: looking around slowly, casually, she spots a tall, strapping man eating a rather LARGE dinner by himself. his location in proximity to them is awfully convinient...for HIM. ::

that man over there...he is a person of interest to us. i see it.

:: and she wasnt just talking about his obvious potential for a roll in the hay ...although THAT was apparent to both herself and ava :D ::

he's a member of that STARS team.

Cameron: I don't think Haleigh is dead either, Ava. STARS must have been close to figuring out something about.....about what goes on around here.

"From what Alison explained to me, the only members of the STARS team that is of my interest are Delilah Travelen and Michael Armstrong. They were the last people to see my sister alive, and i'll be damned if I don't get to ask them what the hell happened."

Placing her fork down, Ava had her fill of salad for the evening. It wasn't that good and she wasn't that hungry to begin with, so she wouldn't continue to be 'polite' and force it down. Topping off her champagne, Alison foresaw a mansion that they had to go to in all possible timelines. It would help them gain the answers to the questions they sought out, and most importantly, it would help them get to Haleigh.

"I'm not leaving this city without my sister....I don't care how dangerous this all ends up to be, she's my blood and I would die for her. [Ava sighed] I just hope it doesn't come to that point..."

Both Cameron and Alison knew how dangerous this entire situation was. That the probability of dying was very high. She also knew that they didn't HAVE to help her....but the fact that they were spoke volumes to how much they cared for her.

Alison: but for now...let's just take the time to settle and blend in. Ava and I obviously dont look to be from "around here" and once people see us with Morgan, they'll KNOW we're not among the common crowd.

"That could work to our advantage."

Alison: that man over there...he is a person of interest to us. i see it.

Ava's sapphire eyes shifted over to Michael Armstrong.

Alison: he's a member of that STARS team.

Finishing off her champagne [that she just poured :p], Ava stood from her seat.

"Hopefully he's not privvy to the international fashion world."

Departing from the table, Ava ran her fingers through her loosly curled locks of sunkised chocolate hair and approached Mike's table, taking a seat before he even had a chance to offer it to her. Smirking to him as she 'smiled with her eyes', Ava leaned forward, closing the gap between them.

"How would you like to get out of here?"

Forward and to the point, Ava wasn't fooling around. She wanted answers and Mike was the one to give them to her.

"How would you like to get out of here?"

Mike looked at the brunette and smiled. GORGEOUS. Tall, thick where she needed to be, thin elsewhere, eyes that screamed bedroom and a mouth made to kiss. Mike smiled at her, finishing his food, and leaned back, regarding her.

You are incredibly beautiful and your offer is tempting. But the only thing that I would like better than sleeping with you right this second...is finding your sister. And right now, I am watching my best lead, hoping that I can convince her to speak with me.

Mike knew who she was! He let her digest that for a moment as he continued.

Or more to the point, you have no intention, right now at least, of sleeping with me. I suspect that you are as gifted and special as your sister, and that you suspect that I am not doing as I should to find her and you want answers. You figure you would be pretty, I would be TYPICALLY male, and you would interrogate me at a place of your choosing with that pretty brunette friend of yours, also likely super.

Mike was very sharp and aware, as Ava would find. He was not a super, but she would see why Haleigh would trust him and regard him highly.

I will tell you and your buxom friend and even Cameron King...where did HE come from (a residual of Cameron's mental machinations), who I see...brother and sister, I should have known about him...whatever you need to know, all that I know. In spite of your sisterly bond, no one here wants Haleigh back more than I do. I could care less about my job, but it gives me the cash, toys, and connections to try to get to the bottom of this before I get the fuck out of here. Haleigh was my CO, would die for her team, and we for her. She trained me, and she was my friend.

Mike leaned forward. Damn she was fine. He'd HAVE to make it to Europe if all the ladies looked like THIS. Any other time on his life and he would already be plowing this field...

So you come all the way here to seduce an American boy? I don't think so. What do you want to know, Ava?

Mike: You are incredibly beautiful and your offer is tempting. But the only thing that I would like better than sleeping with you right this second...is finding your sister.

Ava's eyes narrowed just slightly as Mike spoke about her sister. He obviously WAS privvy to the international fashion scene....which either meant he was very good at his job, or he was gay. ;) Hopefully not the latter considering he had a body that rivaled most Gods.

Mike: And right now, I am watching my best lead, hoping that I can convince her to speak with me. Or more to the point, you have no intention, right now at least, of sleeping with me. I suspect that you are as gifted and special as your sister, and that you suspect that I am not doing as I should to find her and you want answers.

"Had you been this insightful the night of my sister's disappearence, perhaps we wouldn't be in this situation, no?"

Ava stated coldly. She could see Mike was good at his job; he certainly liked to show it off.

Mike: I could care less about my job, but it gives me the cash, toys, and connections to try to get to the bottom of this before I get the fuck out of here. Haleigh was my CO, would die for her team, and we for her. She trained me, and she was my friend.

Parting her lips with her tongue, Ava closed her eyes while sighing. She could tell Mike's concern for Haleigh was genuine. And eventhough she did lay part of the blame of Haleigh's disappearence on him, she softened her cold demeanor just a bit.

Mike: So you come all the way here to seduce an American boy? I don't think so. What do you want to know, Ava?

Finally lifting her eyes, they met with Mike's. Her voice was no longer longing or seductive. No longer cold. It was direct, if not desperate for answers. Like Alison, Ava was usually a cocky, flirty, sexually open person....but Haleigh's disappearence hit the elemental hard, and it was apparent to those who knew Ava. And despite her best efforts to keep up a 'front' with Mike, it would be apparent to him as well. But regardless of her state of being, it would NOT derail Ava from finding her sister and getting the answers she wanted.

"What happend that night. I have an idea [via Alison], but I want to hear YOUR version."

the restaurant

:: Alison stayed seated, calmly looking on as Ava excused herself from their table to go directly to the man.::

:: she looks at Cameron and tosses some of her blue/black hair back, with a smug grin::

I taught her everything she knows! :D

:: referring to Ava's bold approach. She relaxed a little in her seat and leaned back. she KNEW Michael was there watching someone else, a woman from whom sensed a powerfull mystical aura. TWO of them...mother and daughter.::

Morgan and her mother, Dr. Victoria are here.

:: she said quietly.::

But leave them be. They are having a heart to heart family discussion.

which will lead to nothing really...but still

:: the precog thought to her self. With Ava establishing contact with Mike, the seer knew that his role in all of this would place him in a key and dangerous position. his choice though...he'd have to see himself through.::

:: Alison decided to carry on talking with her brother. She hadnt seen him for nearly a year so while this visit was bitter sweet, what better time than the "prologue" to the nightmare in order to talk? ::

So...tell me more about this town. For it to be in such an unremarkable area of the country, it certainly boasts extreme cutting edge technology and a strong commerce. One of the countries most recognized models (Morgan Victoria) is here and the products she promotes are popular nation wide. But it all feels artificial.

And you...i know you like taking risks and your telepathy has allowed you to make great strides in your professional endeavors...but why HERE Cameron?

Karen, Morgan, and Blaze's table - Lipstick Lounge

Blaze slammed her fist down onto the table roughly causing a few of the other tables to look over curiously. Her eyes seemed infuriated by Karen's answers.

"No, mother, you need to listen to what we have to say! We've tried to be patient, understanding, and loving. But enough is enough. Morgan and I have concerns. We're WORRIED about you and your strange behavior."

Reaching across the table to grab her ice water with lemon to take a few sips before continuing.

"Ever since I was attacked you've kept your distance. Mother's are supposed to be there for their daughter's not run away, avoid, or side-step questions or concerns." Blaze's voice was rising slowly before he turned to look down at the table cloth.

"Yes, I was attacked. I can't SLEEP because of it. I try to grasp any ounce of normalcy I have in life. But what I'd really like...what I really need...what Morgan and I need is you. Here. Not there. Not with the company you spend all of your time with."

Blaze felt slightly slighted by Karen's job. Not much was known but Blaze had been suspicious and observant of a few facts. As each of them ordered Blaze ordered a soup and salad. Usually she was liberal but her appetite was beginning to cease since her attack. Eating seemed like an effort. Blaze had lost significant weight without trying due to her post traumatic stress she suffered.

Reaching for her purse to unzip it, the mutant pulled out a bottle of pills that were prescribed to relax her. She had been on edge despite her own raw strength and courage. Taking two with a glass of her water.

Reaching across the table for Karen's hand and reaching for Morgan's in the other. "We're a family but there was days when we don't feel that way from you. Why can't you let us in?" The fire elemental's green eyes searching through Karen's. The conversation here was not light and full of humor but deep and emotional.

She was hurt, shaken by the loss of her sister. She was angry, perhaps dangerously so. But most of all, she just wanted to find Haleigh, just like he did.

"What happend that night. I have an idea [via Alison], but I want to hear YOUR version."

Mike looked into her eyes, his lip tightening. He was both upset and shamed at Haleigh's loss. He was the best of the best, the only non-super who worked with supers and held their secrets. He wasn't supposed to lose ANYONE, and she did it likely to save his life. He exhaled, then spoke.

WE went into the woods to investigate an attack, claimed to be animal, but we were sent to be sure. It was me, Delilah Trelevan and Haleigh. We found the crime scene and took photos, studied evidence there. Found little if anything, closed the case.

Mike qucikly grabs her and kisses her on the mouth, then whispers in her ear, his hand on her knee.

Excuse me, but the man to our 7 o'clock is using a cleverly concealed directional mic. Smile and nod like I am the smoothest motherfucker you have ever met. During the investigation, we came upon a train, no record of it needing to be there. We went inside and found...the biggest goddamn leeches you would ever seen. One would eat your pretty little ass up in 3 bites. We swept the place of those only to have the vics we found on the bus come alive...like ZOMBIES. Haleigh was in one car while we were in the other. She detached her car with the majority of the baddies and left before we could catch up. It went into the tunnel and exploded. Haleigh was not found, no matter how long we searched.

We wanted to get to the bottom of it but RPD tried to shut us down. Since then I have been working on a doctor that does research for them, trying to find out where she is. She was too tough to let a little fire get her, and I think she is out there somewhere. Where, I don't know but I will find out. Someone tough as shit must have her for her not to contact either of us.

Looks over after Blaze slams the table...

And it looks like my witness is having a bad night with her daughters. I will make sure you have all of my files. I keep them in my car in a secret compartment. They will fill in any other blanks. Meet me in 1 hour. I hope to have a lead if you guys don't by then. But right now I am being watched, which means you are also. I don't want to give you any more trouble than you may already have.

Mike leaned back, smiling as if he had just landed the catch of the night. He picked up the charade for the spy.

Make sure you call me, sweetheart, OK? We'll hang out later tonight.

in the restaurant

:: Cameron listened intently as Alison explained the situation and how her point of interest was a place called Arklay. He had heard of the place but never detected it psychically. He honestly didn't think it existed. Soon after the surfacing of Michael Armstrong, Ava decided to try and get answers from him herself. He wasn't going to budge at all, he agreed with his sister. ::

"Yes yes you're both maneaters!"

:: Alison asked him about why he stayed in Raccoon City and more about it. Cameron cleared his throat for a second and thought. ::

"Well Alison Raccoon City has been setting itself up to be the next New York or Los Angeles, regardless of how everyone feels about it's name. It's setting the standard for the medical and technological industries, both businesses are somewhat recession proof. And what better place for someone in my profession to be than a place where I can have a front row seat to the next possible Microsoft, hell perhaps even NASA. I may come across as a playboy, but there is a big part of me that is a downright geek. Science and Medicine are my hobbies!"

:: He took a moment to take the last sip of his champagne before waiting the waiter for another bottle before continuing. ::

"I stay here I guess because I feel like I haven't yet fufilled my purpose. It may be artificial here but at least it's new. I've done some jetsetting myself and while they may be a lot different in the United States, this place has some kind of energy that on one hand scares the crap out of me but on the other hand knows it's something exciting. Plus have you SEEN Morgan Victoria sunbathing by Circular River? I've made SCULPTURES, Alison!"

:: Cameron laughed. It wasn't often he got to just catch up with his sister. Yes there were dire times ahead but Cameron figured if they were going to die, they would die side by side, standing up for one another, and that made him content. ::

"But now.. on to you Alley Cat. When are you going to settle down and make a home for yourself.. All that jetsetting has to get old at SOME point right?"

:: a few more nibbles on her plate here and there before she happily returned to her hemlock::

:: she couldnt fault him. what enterprising business savvy man wouldnt eye a place like this with such opportunity? she had to admit, there was a sort of intrigue here. the cityscape was very cutting edge, the technology was high end but then again considering the entity behind it...the entity that made its own home...or perhaps "NEST" would be a better word...here, sight unseen. THAT was what made it all so bad.::

:: Alison frowned a bit as Cameron recalled Morgan's apparent topless sunbathing on the Circular River. Her brother was as red blooded and MALE as they came :p but As she thought about Morgan, she saw some very unfortunate things in the woman's near future as well as her recent past.::

If Morgan could, she'd leave Rejuvination. I see that clearly. She and her family, while it may seem they have benefited much from their endeavors...they are painfully burdened by them as well.

and as for this town? all i can say is...

:: looking across the way to Ava and Mike::

be ready to let go. nothing is worth your life....

:: she trails off looking out of the window, she saw people walking this way and that....and in a flash, zooming in toward her colbalt blue eyes, she sees

this very same area but night time...destruction...fires...sirens wailing and those same pedestrians she sees now...are staggering, lumbering, drooling, gurgling creatures...these THINGS...these ZOMBIES! one lunges at HER in her seer's eye...mouth open wide like a snake yearning to make its kill. ::

:: this powerfull vision causes Alison to visibly shiver as she drops her goblet on the floor and it shatters, several tables look HER way now. the sound jars her back into focus as she blinks a few times, trying to push away the severity of what she "saw". she couldnt tell them yet. the fear it would generate would prevent any of them from trying to do what they needed and she herself wasnt sure JUST what this meant.::

:: shaking her head.::

well...I'm so sorry about that

:: she says to the attendent who quickly comes to sweep up the glass.::

Cameron, it's time we were going. We'll finish our conversation later this evening.

:: standing up, she noticeably ENDED their discussion for now and was all about leaving this place::

I'll get Ava.

You pay the bill!

:: she winks. any one of the three could easily afford the bill but Alison decided that Cameron should remember that not every woman he buys dinner is going to get in bed with him :p::

:: grabbing her purse, Alison stands and walks with a confident but slower paced strut toward Mike and Ava. Patrons in the restaurant take notice of her and its obvious she's not from around here. Wearing a low cut blue corsett, black mini skirt and black open toe, sling back high heels, the precog closed in on Mike and Ava. reaching the table, she clears her throat.::

Excuse me, Officer Dreamboat. Interrogation time is over.

:: smirking at her own joke and knowing that he'd wonder how she'd know anything about him like his status as an officer she immediately turns to Ava and reveals a more serious look.::

Let's be on our way.

:: she knew Ava would recognize the look and tone. Alison hands Ava her clutch and begins to walk away with her, not addressing Mike again.::

Did you have fun with beefcake back there?

::gently nudging Ava and smiling a bit::

I have to talk to you...but not here. We'll talk in the limo. Cameron is paying the bill now so we'll wait out in the vallet for the Cameron and the limo.

Ava listened carefully as Mike began to discribe the evening of her sister's disappearence. But in a very surprising move on his part, Mike KISSED Ava, completely taking her off guard. With her brows furrowed, she was about to deck him across the face when he quickly explained that they were being watched. Her narrowed eyes softened as she began to express her 'pleasure' with him showing her such attention.

With a sexy grin.

"In any other situation I would have ripped your tongue out."

Ava laughed, making sure to keep up appearences. As Mike continued to explain to her about the deadly leaches and the train, Ava made sure to carress his hand which was placed on her leg. He told her that Haleigh had detached the cabin she was in from the rest of the rest of the train, and that's where it disappeared and exploded. Closing her eyes, Ava nodded, pressing her lips against his cheek before pulling away. A little flirty kissing never hurt their cover. ;)

Alison: Excuse me, Officer Dreamboat. Interrogation time is over.

"I'll see you in an hour.."

Mike: Make sure you call me, sweetheart, OK? We'll hang out later tonight.

Giving him a sly grin, Ava stood from his table and proceeded with Alison toward the exit, her alluring facial expression melting away into a stern, 'woman on a mission' look.

Alison: Did you have fun with beefcake back there?

[smirking] "It was strictly buisness. [nudging her back] I'm meeting with Mr. Beefcake in an hour. He has documents that could help further shed light on what's really going on in this city, and how it ties to Haleigh. [looking to Alison, the precog looked tense] You okay, AM?"

Alison: I have to talk to you...but not here. We'll talk in the limo. Cameron is paying the bill now so we'll wait out in the vallet for the Cameron and the limo.

"Okay...."

She could tell by Alison's tone that whatever it was she needed to tell her was important.

<< Morgan looked unhappy and Blaze slammed her hand on the table. Karen's eyebrows lifted in astonishment before he narrowed her eyes and leered in total disapproval.>>

She's just frustrated, Mother and she has every right to be.

<< Morgan says as she circles above the rim of her glass with her perfectly manicured, red painted finger nail.>>

Please talk to us. TELL US what is going on! You always taught us to stay together and to depend on each other as a family...that we [as supers] HAD to be able to depend on each other in this ever increasingly intolerant world. But now you're pulling back from us...youve been doing it ever since Blaze's attack...even BEFORE really.

What's so GREAT about this...MYSTECH? It's like ever since Christopher died, you became MARRIED to this company. You spend more time being a doctor than anything else...but aside from US...its taking a toll on YOU mother and if something , someONE is vexing you like this...I want to know about it.

<< she was truly concerned for her mother...AND Blaze.>>

BOTH of you are suffering. Blaze can hardly sleep, she barely eats...and I'm afraid to let her out of my sight even for a MOMENT. You've become cold and distant...look at us! we're NOTHING like we used to be.
