Melrose Place 2.0 [ official reboot]

I am so glad that if they couldn't get someone like Lexi or Amanda to be the Landlord that they got SYDNEY! *squeals like a girl*

I am not okay with Ashley Simpson but I think they were just trying to get a name attached to the project.

And Vil I hate Lisa Rinna too but I really loved Taylor McBride haha! I can't wait..

This makes me more comfortable with the remake! ESPECIALLY with Michael Mancini! *drools* He is like Brenthon and Cameron's long lost Brother haha!

dang! LOL why do you two hate Lisa Rinna? She was so cute and even sexy on MP but i'll admit that NOW she looks rather freakish. Still "Taylor Mcbride" was hysterical with her attempts to ruin Amanda's life, steal Peter and play Michael Mancini like a harp from hell.

I remember one episode where she drugged peter and then wanted to make it look like he had BEAT her so she slammed herself in the face with the door (after Michael refused to hit her LOL) LMAO and Peter thought he had "rage epilepsy"

But unfortunately I think the body in the pool is hers... There is speculation that she is murdered and the first season revolves around that.

see, you just HAD to ruin the moment...didnt you?

lol! :p

it appears they arent using the original MP set either (it was probably long since broken down, after all pieces of it apppeared in Halloween: H20)

but thats alright, im just REALLY excited to see it...despite Brandon's horrid speculation! :p

I hope it's not true either but that is what I have been hearing from a number of sources.

The set does still have that Melrose Place feel though, it just seems a little refreshed like they rennovated the complex haha.

I did like seeing Michael and it really does still have that MP feel to it.. and with Michael Mancini still on it.. with a son, things should get interesting haha. ;)

I'm totally looking forward to this now! Especially after seeing the scenes with Sydney and Michael!! I just hope they really don't kill off Sydney's character [AGAIN]....I would be pissed off. They need a vet on that show as the landlord.

haha spoilers ;)

So I did some digging and I found this juicy little tid bit for your viewing pleasure.

Melrose Place is back to its old dirty tricks. The CW's forthcoming reboot of the classic '90s sudser will launch this fall with the kind of bombshell revelation that would make Kimberly Shaw's legendary scar bust open. Unfortunately, unlike that iconic cliffhanger, there ain't a chance in hell this twist will remain unspoiled before it airs in September. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if this thing leaks in the next week or so. Or today. Or right now after the jump. (Yes, that was your warning. Seriously, this is a gigantic spoiler, so head for the exit if you don't want to know the bombshell at the center of Melrose 2.0.)

The Melrose pilot -- snippets of which were unveiled to advertisers at The CW's upfront presentation this morning -- has been shrouded in the kind of secrecy more typical of an episode of Lost than a trashy primetime soap. "The pilot script isn't being released to anyone -- not even to writers who are meeting on the show," an industry insider recently whispered. "There's apparently some twist involving Sydney that they're trying to keep under wraps."

It's under wraps no more: Someone murdered Sydney! Again!

Sources confirm to me exclusively that the dead body found floating face down in Melrose's trademark pool in the opening minutes belongs to none other than Laura Leighton's bitchtastic ex-stripper. I'm told her death will set in motion a season-long murder mystery that finds nearly all of the show's principal characters -- particularly Syd's ex, Michael (Thomas Calabro) -- a possible suspect.

I know what you're probably thinking: They brought Sydney back to life only to kill her off in the first 10 minutes?! Sorta. Yes, she dies (for real) right out of the gate, but Leighton will be sticking around. An insider confirms that Sydney will be seen via flashback in multiple episodes. Said flashbacks will explain where's she's been and what really happened after she became road kill more than a decade ago.

I know what you're also probably thinking: Is this the story Heather Lockler was pitched and ultimately turned down? Yes, that was supposed to be Amanda Woodward's bloodied corpse floating in the pool. But when Locklear nixed the offer, producers approached Leighton. (Mystery solved: Locklear killed Sydney!)

Thoughts on the latest bomb dropped in TV's most famous courtyard? Does this make you more or less excited to see Melrose 2.0? And are you relieved Locklear turned her back on the gig since this means Amanda will live to raise hell another day? Sound off below!

I would have liked to have seen Amanda but I can understand why she declined to reprise her role. I won't be watching this. Heather was the real reason I watched the show. I mean come on they have cast Ashley Simpson a role for the show! Seriously? ASHLEY SIMPSON?! The girl couldn't even remember her own lyrics lol. Bad choice lol.

wow...now im really upset. NO WONDER Heather Locklear passed on this and turned down the pitch. Bringing bet a beloved vet of MP to kill her off in the pilot? WTF?

these producers are IDIOTS. I agree w/ Heather...i will watch the pilot but that's it. Sydney was one of t he MP greats the CW fucked up with this idea.

I'm actually really excited about the new MP. I still don't like that Ashlee Simpson is in it, but I think the rest of the cast--especially the vets--looks great. I can't wait. :)

Josie Bissett Returns to Melrose Place!

Via: http://www.pinkisthenewblog.com/2009/06/melrose-place-alum-josie-bissett-signs-on-for-the-redux/

Looks like Melrose Place is getting more tenants – Josie Bissett is returning to her old haunt as a guest star, PEOPLE confirms. Bissett reprises her role as Jane Andrews Mancini, sister to Laura Leighton’s Sydney Andrews, in at least one episode and may do more, according to a source. Bissett joins original Melrose castmates Leighton and Thomas Calabro when the new incarnation airs on the CW network this fall. Meanwhile Bissett’s ex-husband, Rob Estes (also a former Melrose alum), appears on the CW in 90210.

They just keep snaggin' the alums left and right! Even though Jane wasn't my favorite character, it's still nice to see some old faces around Melrose Place. :)

... Jane... *dies* That's retarded... I hope she's done something to that hair.. and learned how to act.. outside of her horrible ABC Family movies.

Yay! It premieres soon! Has anyone changed their mind on watching the premiere? I am definitely going to give it a chance, I mean I know it will be nothing close to the original but I have to at LEAST see for myself and waiting for Farrah's SCATHING review on how horrible it was to follow the next day!

No, I refuse to watch this because it will give The CW to remake even more shows that do not need to be touched. Apparentley a Dawson's Creek remake is in the works...
