Zach nodded as he sipped the longneck slowly, watching both girls and their emotions as a force of habit. Sydney seemed to be recovering quickly, no doubt on a high of the emotional rollercoaster that follows a death in the family. Sarah was more reserved, and quieter, content with allowing her sister the attention. Sydney was the outwardly curious one, and Zach satiated her to a safe degree.
"Oh yes, that woman's been around the world. Perks of the job, you know?" He agreed in a deep, slightly playful tone as Sydney confessed to wanting to know what Haleigh looked like before. Zach gave a lopsided smile to the chattier twin, tossing a look to Sarah before standing up and joining Sydney at the fireplace. He was considerably taller and had a more massive, muscular build than the girls and it gave him a strong presence that was amplified by his confident personality.
"Your father never showed you a picture?" He asked, looking along the mantle until he stopped on a framed 5X7 on the end. He picked it up and turned towards Sydney. "Here... this is her and your father in Central Park with the dogs. Poor Echo looks so sad... she had to get him fixed because he couldn't be kept AWAY from Norma." The picture of Haleigh and Cameron was candid, of them side by side playing fetch and frisbee with Delta and Norma. Haleigh had striking red hair, bright in the sun, it brilliance surpassed only by electric blue eyes. [CI: Nicole Kidman] Her thin, lithe figure seemed fragile next to Cameron, who'd shed his shirt in the summer heat. Zach seemed to behold this picture gamely, though it showcased the obvious attraction between the two in the way they looked at each other, all smiles. Zach chuckled softly as Sydney made a guess at Haleigh's 'real' name...the one she'd been born with, before she came back from being 'dead' the first time, when she started up CI.
"Something like that, yes." He responded. Zach, like Haleigh, was careful with information, no matter how trivial it seemed. "Even I haven't known her long enough to call her Rebecca... I'm kind of surprised you know that...but then... i don't guess she kept very many things from your father." Zach gave a start as Sydney accidentally swept the vase off the mantle, but didn't seemed overly concerned as the crystal threatened to crash into the floor... Haleigh wouldn't be too incredibly broken up about it. Sarah, however, reacted instinctively, and Zach immediately sensed she was surprised at herself for saving the vase in such fashion... and wondered at the timing... the distress of losing their father and the feeling of vulnerability must have triggered the manifestation of their powers... and Zach could only speculate as to how confusing this would make things for them.... but they had to know Cameron had powers... and that they one day would find theirs.
"Looks like you're coming into your powers. Maybe you ought to avoid swinging your hands around like that... I've seen your Aunt BLOW BODYPARTS UP... and I'd just as well like to keep all mine, thank you." He joked, trying to ease Sarah's tension and quell her uneasiness. "Just relax... the worst thing to do is panic... i'm sure Alison can help you both learn to control them, when she's feeling better."
