Ikaris

Guest
In a large series of caverns, hidden through the darkest of magicks, Ikaris sits at a desk in his study area, reviewing a list on a sheet of parchment. Books and scrolls line the walls. The few visitors that he allows here understand that without a doubt, this is one of the most extensive magickal libraries to be found. Rising from the desk, he adjusts the open purple robe that covers his midnight black silk shirt and leather pants. He pulls his jet black hair back and secures it in a pony tail. Grinning evilly, he leaves the study and goes into his magickal work area. Approaching the ironwood altar in the center of the room, he lifts a smoky grey crystal from it and turns it over in his hands. With a negligent gesture towards the area directly before him, he ignites a fire that burns with no visible fuel. He begins to hum to himself for a few minutes as the fire burns, then calls out:

"From dungeons low to castles high,
Let these so named now hear my cry
Before me assembled they shall stand
Lest smote they be, by mine own hand."

"Kurama Sutro"
"Tobias Halliwell"
"Sati"
"Euthalia"
"Sydney"
"Amarisy"
"Maia"

With the uttering of the final Name, Ikaris throws the crystal into the fire where it shatters releasing a noxious green smoke which dissipates quickly. He smiles evilly to himself, knowing that each of those summoned will be in increasing discomfort until they answer the summons.

:: Euthalia shimmered into the tavern. She looked around trying to identify where she was and then noticed Ikaris. But remained silent. ::

First one here....

:: Elsewhere in MoE, Sati felt the tug of her summons. She tried to ignore it for a moment, slipping off her jacket, and letting her dark hair fall loose from its elegant ponytail. Her eyes glinting with violet, she dropped the clip onto her jacket, sighing as the tug of her summons grew increasingly uncomfortable ::

Just when a girl's got plans...

:: Abandoning her current activity, she faded out, fading back into view before Ikaris. She glanced at Topez, but, like the other girl, remained silent ::

:: Kurama had been at work in a library, studying, when he felt a tug that was becoming more and more uncomfortable. In a swirl of rose petals he left the library and in a second swirl appeared in between Sati and Euthalia. He nods to them and seeing as they are quiet kept his eyes on Ikaris ::

Noting those who arrived first, Ikaris gestures towards his "guests" and a tray bearing chilled drinks and goblets appears floating in midair, as if carried by some invisible servant. Turning his attention fully back to his guests, Ikaris addresses them. "Be at ease, all will be explained to you presently."

:: Kurama looks up at the floating tray and with a twirl of his fingers a goblet floats over to him. He catches it and takes a sip, very refreshing. Kurama looks to Ikaris and listens ::

"Very well."

:: Tobias is practising his Martial Arts in the comfort of his large crypt. Tabitha is out scrounging in the forest for wolves and other large beasts of the like. They both feel the tug of the summons but they are not in a hurry to get to the meeting place just yet. Tabitha goes in for the kill of a wolf-cub - her dessert for the night and Tobias is beating the hell out of an innocent he had captured earlier in the day. When Tobias finally kills the innocent with an energy ball Tabitha waltzes in looking rather proud of herself. They both fade out and into view of the cavern. Tobias glances at Sati and gives her a 'hey!' kind of nod and then waits patiently ::

:: Nodding at Ikaris, Sati raises one hand, summoning a chilled drink towards her. She raises it to her lips, taking a grateful sip. Just then, Tobias materialises ahead of her, and she smiles slightly, before turning her eyes away, following Ikaris's movements. Outwardly patient, she nevertheless hungers to find the reason for this ::

:: A large crack ripped through the grounds of the caverns, as blood red smoke seaped in from it, spiraling slowly into a midsized horizontal tornado. As it spun faster and faster as seconds passed by, a faint image of the figure of a tall alluring woman materialized inside. She stepped out through the tornado, just before it returned to where it had come from. The crack closed, as if there was nothing there at all ::

"It's good to be back in the game..."

:: She wore an appropriate fighting suit with her long chocolate brown locks tied into a french braid. With her finger, she telekinetically directed a drink into her hand, there she took a small sip. She smiled and awaited for further instructions from Ikaris ::

:: A sudden flash of bright red light strikes, almost like lightning yet, far from lightning. The flash, bright, drawing attention to itself. As the light clears away a large shadow appears, and out of the shadow a familiar figure can be seen. Tall elegant women steps out of the shadow, which is slowly flowing away. Her long ravishing red, blonde highlighted hair flowing along her. A cold small breeze collected around the familiar face, Sydney, as the shadow and breeze slowly drifted away. ::

Self: Late, as it seems..

:: Wearing an appropirate outfit for fighting, she glanced at who was here.. Giving Maia and Kurama a small smile.. As she regonized them the most.. And then turned her attention to Ikaris. She did not bother to take a drink... But instead she waited to see why she was here.. And for further instructions. Remaining silent.. She let her eyes trail Ikaris, waiting. ::

*Amy had been fighting in the open training when she began to feel pulls in her mind...she was being summonded. Purple flames erupt in a circle under the ground. The shoot up towards the ceiling forming a dome shape, and as the flames die down and the smoke begins to dissapate, you can see the figure of Amy. She walks out into the dark area, and looks at her fellow MOEs, nodding her head. She wore black boots, leather pants, and a sleeveless leather v neck top. She walked over towards the group an smiled at them. She blinked one of the drinks to her hand and look at Ikaris, studying him and waited for instructions.*

Turning towards his "guests", Ikaris smiles at them, a smile the warmth of which never seems to quite make it to his eyes.

"As you may or may not know, the Darkchilde is one of my former students and continues to be a close associate. She and the other leaders of the Masters of Evil have singled each of you out as having, shall we say potential? Darkchilde has asked me to undertake a new phase of your training. You will be tested in areas of physical combat, magickal expertise, teamwork and problem solving. The very real possibilty will exist of your dying during this training and that is as it should be, for only the strongest and most clever survive in battle against the forces of Light."

Ikaris looks at this group as he says the last. He pulls a sword shaped pendant from beneath his shirt. As the firelight reflects off it, the careful observer would note that it is an exact replica of Darkchilde's Soul Sword. The pendant begins to glow and with a sudden flash, all the occupants of the room vanish....

Ikaris and the trainees appear in what appears to be the middle of a desert. The sun beats harshly down upon them and the sudden birghtness leaves most blinded for a moment. The landscape is dotted with barrel cacti and in the shimmering distance an enormous mountain can be seen. Near the foot of each member of the party lies a backpack and for those who use specific weapons find a copy of their favorite atop the pack, for those who would normally rely on magical abilities a short sword lies atop their pack.

"Listen to me now, I set upon each of you this quest. At the top of that mountain in the distance, lies the castle of the sorcerer Belasco, an adversary of both mine and Darkchilde's, who has become an annoyance. You shall seek him out and take from him a mystical amulet called the Eye of Fire by whatever means necessary or you will not be able to return to the earth dimension, you will be trapped here forever.
I have plotted a route for you that will require your travelling through several pocket realms as it is nearly impossible to reach the mountain by travelling directly towards it. The gate way to each of these realms is marked in such a way that you will not mistake it for anything else."

"If you are wondering why you couldn't simply transport yourselves there, I have cast spells that prohibit all of your transporting powers. To reach the castle, you will need to walk. I have also banned any familiars that you may have from entering this realm. Another condition set upon you is that your magical powers may or may not work in any given realm, and in some realms the results of magic are unpredictable. Your magical weapons are have all been nullified and are now mundane. You will need those weapons to survive as their are numerous hazards between here and the castle. To give you a fair chance, I have provided each of you with a pack that will help you survive. You will find ration bars and dried meat in the packs along with a skin of water. The ration bars and meat will be replenished each night but the water will not be. You will be responsible for finding your own fluids. I have also included a small medical kit including bandages and one antidote potion."

"I would suggest you get moving, " Ikaris laughs as he fades out of sight.

Left alone, the party seems rather surprised at Ikaris' abrupt departure. In the direction of the mountain an outcropping of rock can be seen, apparently some several miles distant. The cacti seem to be the only other form of life in sight, which is really not surprising to any of them as the blistering heat continues to bake everything as far as the eye can see.

:: Kurama finds he and the others transported via something that looks like Darkchilde's Soul Sword, to a incredibly hot desert. His body aclimated at once to the new temperature, one good thing he had been able to train his body to do when he was in the rainforests. He saw the backpack and on top of it was an exact replica of his rose. He picked it up and struck it to the side, it extended to its whip form which he latched onto his belt, just in case he had to be ready for a suprise attack. He looks at the pack and opens it with TK and looks through it and once he is satisfied puts it on. He looks to the others ::

"Alright lets get moving"

:: Kurama heads out knowing they will follow, knowing they would not have time to waste ::

:: Tobias looks down at the pack. Memories rush back to him when he sees his axe laying on the pack. ::

I'd forgotten about you....

:: The axe is long and made with oak from the tree in his foster parents' back yard. It colour of the wood made it look like charcoal, but it was more than strong enough to withstand many battles without even splintering. The arched blade was wrought from pure silver and looked like a chinese boat when placed horizontally. He wanted it gold plated but he decided against it...he didn't want to bring attention to himself at the time - the time before he joined MoE, when he was alone, fending for himself on the streets. He put the belt on around his chest and back and slid the axe down between his shoulder blades, the belt held it securely in place ::

:: Tobias opens his pack and glances inside, satisfied with its contents he slings the pack over his shoulder and sets out following Karuma. ::

"Yeah, we haven't got any time to waste, if we want to escape this dimensions."

:: He catches up with Karuma and gives him a curt nod, remembering the time they fought each other in one of the training lessons ::

:: Euthalia seemed a bit stunned and stood still for only a matter of seconds after Kurama had said those words. She picked up her dagger that was on her backpack and slid it into her pocket, she then carefully put the backpack around her back. She began moving as soon as Kurama did, fanning herself with her hand. ::

"Hmm.. I wonder how we'll be able to tell which realm we are traveling into... Will there be a big neon sign or something? Since Ikaris told us we couldn't mistake then enterance.."

:: She said aloud, also thinking about it. ::

I guess we'll know when we get to one.

:: Sydney looks down at the packs, and spots hers.. Walking over to it, she spots something which looks to be of a note, but it may have just been an illusion.. In this scenes, any type of Illusions could be possible because of the heat. She slips it into her pocket, and then picks up her pack.. Slinging it on to her shoulders.. As she seems the others start to lead off, she pulls out the 'note'.. And reads it. She nods to herself, at what the words say.. And suddenly the note is gone... As it turned into sand, and blended with the scene.. ::

Well that is interesting indeed..

:: Sydney had indeed never been on a quest like this.. But she had been an Assassin most of her life that she was on her own, her body was trained well.. To do and survive well in whatever place she was put. She begins to follow Kurama and Tobias, but makes sure to look behind her.. And make sure the others, who haven't yet grabbed their bags don't get to far apart. They couldn't afford to get split up. Taking note of everyone.. She then turns her eyes.. And contuines to walk on.. Maybe she was walking into her death, but that was not even a thought that lingered in her mind.. ::

"We must indeed get going, for we have no time to waste. But right now, we don't want to leave anyone behind.."

:: She motioned to the others who had yet to grab their pack.. This would be quite the adventure. ::

" Your correct Sydney... "

:: Euthalia replied as she looked back, to all of the stragglers. ::

"There is no time to dilly- dally.. I and I'm sure the rest of you would like to strip this sorcerer of the Eye-of-Fire before anyone's lives are lost. "

:: She said taking a bossy-tone with them, being bossy was her nature at times.. along with being stubborn. But she hoped that wouldn't create any bad heat between herself and anyone else. This quest would be quite an adventure, and probably not one of this group's lasts or atleast she hoped it wouldn't. ::

:: Kurama nodded to Tobias and saw as Syd and Euthalia caught up. He sent a message to the others telepathically ::

Guys if we don't hurry the longer we have to be in this sun

:: He turned and winked to the stragglers. He turned back and forged on, keep a close watch on the surroundings and on his whip ::
