"So, Alycia wasn't the monster's target after all...they were using her and Sharon - to get to us?"

It would appear to be just that, Delilah. Alycia was one of our most important liasons to the "normal world"...and Senator Kelly was an outspoken opponent against the anti mutant/meta human agenda. Her own HUSBAND was a meta human...he was killed by sentinels years ago....

and now, that Alycia has uncovered this information, on top of her running interference following the Citadle caper...she has been deemed a threat that must be eliminated. We have to help them as they have helped US so many times in the past...and....though i hate to admit it, we may BENEFIT from Haleigh's involvement in this matter. it spans far beyond the Super Soldier ..and although she has a personal stake in this...this matter is bigger than ALL of us.

We could be EXPOSED ...our lives ruined and endangered....and there would be no immediate way to fix that!

::looking at the monitors::

Meanwhile, the creature has begun moving around the lake and through the forest. He's looking for us. He's picked up Alycia's trail. We need to lure HIM into a trap...and hit him with EVERYTHING we have!

<< holding Sharon's hand as she looked on, Morgan was thoroughly shocked as Alison pieced together a terrifying picture of corruption and the far reaching threat of MysTech>>

our goverment, in league with the most powerful commerical entity on the planet. Im not surprised. its a symobiotic relationship and BOTH parties benefit...but i dont have to be an intelligence specialist to know that MysTech probably has its hold on several OTHER countries across the globe....but no doubt America's government in its arrogance will think IT has the upper hand in all of this.

<< frowning as Alison conceeded that Haleigh's input and involvement would be a tactical bonus right now, Morgan shook her head...looking at the monitors>>

it moves so slowly..yet deliberately...its almost like it KNOWS that no matter what..itll eventually find us.

<< nodding >> we have to do something about him...we have to KILL HIM!

Alycia and Sharon can stay down here...ill place a warding spell on the entrance to the bunker. But we definately need a plan...powers or no, we cant just go up there and face this thing half assed...

<< standing up....>>

options?

[ As she listened to Guardian's words, Delilah paused. She sensed something, her powers over sound noticing something was off. Spreading the fingers on her hands, she "felt" the air, scanning the room, looking for...something.

Near the console - something. Was it just interference from electrical apparatuses in the bunker? One way to find out.

Focusing intently on the spot of the disturbance, Morningstar slowly tightened her fists. Transforming the sounds her enhanced body was picking up into light. A pinpoint of light became visible, growing and getting brighter as the light emanated from the center. Finally, there was a bright flash and the shape of a man was visible. He wasn't complete - more transparent - but Morningstar's light was illuminating him just the same. Dark haired and reasonably attractive...but not someone Morningstar had met before. DEFINITELY not someone who was supposed to be there. ]

<< Spellbinder turned as Morningstar took action...>>

MorningStar...WHAT!?

<< she turned and looked in the direction of where MS was directing the light.....having to shield her eyes. after the flash of light...the shape of another MAN was revealed....>>

we were FOLLOWED!?

<< gritting her teeth>>

well he wont get away with this!

<< extending her hand. a halo of violet enegy forms and with a "ZAP" sound, the man who is actually Adrian is immobilized...bound by mystic "chains" that tightly encircle his body and prevent any physical movement>>

::standing up as well...::

there is a presence...but its like QUICKSILVER..so elusive its not necessarily bound to this plane of existence! but yet...its NOT an enemy per se...

::Guardian had to concentrate...for this man was more anomaly than simply human::

Its...its ADRIAN LOCKHART! But he's CHANGED!

::her voice was sparked with surprise and annoyance...that he had been able to get so close...and SLIP through Alison's "sight"...and now he was among them...AGAIN, probably going to be as ineffective as he was before::

well now,

:: she said as she walked up to the now disoriented and immobilized Bane::

not man enough to show your face after the bang up job you did back at Wyndemere so you decided to follow us like shadows in dark corners?

This is NOT the time for your cloak and dagger routine, Bane.

::yes, Alison knew his code name and called im out for it::

you may have escaped my notice momentarily but you were NOT able to escape that of MorningStar...whose "light" will reveal ALL that is here physically.

WHY are you here?

::she glared at him with her cobalt blue eyes::

we are in the midst of a terrible emergency..lives depend on us...and we...we have to depend on EACH OTHER more than ever now....your grand standing is NOT wanted here!

Adrian paid no heed to the others around him; he concentrated on the figures showed on the screen, analyzing with computer-like efficiency the encounter, the variables involved, and of course, the strategims of the monster, though the movements were too brief for any remote disection. Immersed in this display, Adrian momentarily forgot he was surrounded by superpowered women who had the means of not only revealing him, but ending him.

As a flash of light flooded the immediate area, Adrian's eyes widened. It took him only a moment to realize he had been found out, and before he could prepare himself, mystic chains flew forth and bound him to his location. He should have known his location would be betrayed sooner or later due to some earthly element outside of his control -- in this case, sound. Focusing on Alison as she walked toward him, Adrian's otherwordly gaze looked through her.

To the group, this man was a stark contrast to the sex-personified Adrian of before. Other than mundane differences such as his eye color, he had visibly changed. There was no cockiness in his stance; his eyes were unassuming. He was the antithesis of the passion and heat that had embodied the previous Adrian, and it now showed through his words.

"Alison," he said, smoothly ignoring her catty comments, "I am not here to sabotage anything. I am as much as aware of the dangerous situation we're in as you, and like you, I want this abomination dealt with."

His gaze swept from Alison to Morgan. "Though this super soldier may be impervious to numerous elements, it still has a soul, and I happen to know something about.. the other world, which will no doubt prove useful in combating him."

Adrian gently passed through the mystical chains as his body turned into a purely etheral matter. As soon as he had escaped them, Adrian solidifed, his beautiful green eyes now regarding Alison once more.

"It is time to put aside old hatreds. I have a feeling that we have only scratched the surface of what has transpired, and you will need any and all resources at your disposal. I only want to help, Alison," he said. Though this man had committed atrocities that would make Satan blush, it was apparent that this Adrian had spoken truth. His words were measured, crisp, and to the point. The creature drew ever nearer above them, and this was no time for petty bickering and reminiscing.

[ MorningStar waved her hand, and the light subsided. Apparently Morgan and Alison did know this person, and didn't think much of him, for what she could gather. She stayed on guard - this one certainly was an enigma.

His powers intrigued her. If they ended up on this journey together, it would be interesting to see what he could do. When he wasn't getting busted by the women in this room, of course. ]

:: Alexis saw Sharon and Alycia...they were brutalized. Staying back as Morgan and Delilah began to help the woman, she saw Alycia's cold glare set onto Alexis. Parting her lips, she went to speak, but hesitated. ::

"--It's Alexis, Ms. Barnett.."

:: Pressing her lips together once more, Alycia didn't have a reason to trust Alexis in this new forum, but hopefully once she revealed that it was in fact someone she knew, and someone she had helped numerous times in the past, she would feel more at ease. But there was no time for that, suddenly, her attention was on the monitors. The monster...beating the woman. God what a monster. Narrowing her eyes, she too saw the blimp in the screen, and before she could point it out, Delilah quickly revealed Adrian, who in fact was standing right next to her. Jumping to the side, she gritted her teeth. ::

"Jesus Christ..."

:: Huffing, she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, hearing his words. Shaking her head, if he wanted to help, that was fine. As long as he didn't get them killed in the process. ::

"I can be decoy. I can glamour into Alycia and lure that thing into a trap. It's the best option...it's after Alycia and as far as we know, it doesn't know we are here."

:: Deciding to take action instead of butt heads with Adrian, Alexis suggested a plan of action to the woman. ::

Alexis is right...her decoy would be the perfect lure. Morgan, Delilah and myself.....::catching herself:: AND Adrian can position ourselves in the open area above ground where the entrance is. Morgan will cloak us and when Alexis leads him here...Delilah can dazzle and STUN him with a light show.....allowing us all to bombard him with our energy projection...doing as much damage as we can. Morgan can then split him in half with a stepping disc....and ill freeze/blow up whats left of him.

But Alexis, youve got to be carefull...fast on your feet and NO HEROICS. lead him to us so that we ALL may deal with him. This is for our sake as much as it is Alycia and Sharon.

if we agree, then Morgan can send Alexis right into the cabin via disc...and she can "act" as Alycia.

::Guardian waited to see if everyone was in agreement::

::Alycia was so weary, when Alexis informed her that they HAD in fact met....it didnt immediately click. the gala , a month ago. Sharon and Alyicia had been been introduced to Alexis by Morgan::

::she was helped over to a bed, and she lay down. Delilah and Morgan had helped her physically...but she'd definately been through a trauma and needed to rest::

Th.....thanks...all of you.

::she exhaled slowly, breathing easier now, as she laid her head down. She couldnt help but to fall asleep....for she had been through something that would have KILLED most ordinary human beings. credit to her for being a tenacious woman who didnt give in easily, for she managed to escape certain death toinght::

::the woman fell asleep...as Guardian's voice was the last thing she heard. she would be safe down here...and Morgan's warding spell would prevent any access from the entry point of the underground bunker::

:: Alexis nodded. As far as she was concerned she wanted to get in and get out; Heroics wouldn't be an issue. As she waited for everyone to agree, she began to study Alycia's body, clothing, everything. From as small as a mole to as noticable as what kind of shoes she was wearing. She needed to be perfect, exact. Narrowing her eyes, she took one last glimps of Alycia, nodding to herself. ::

"Is it a go?"

:: Turning to the others. ::

<< Spellbinder really had no choice but to accept Adrian as he was now. He had a valid point and the team WAS under manned...MorningStar and Bane were necessary to ensure that the group was successfull and that no one lost their heads...LITERALLY>>

<< sighing with slight exasperation at the fear and hightened sense of uncertainty that hung in the air...everything from "the shape"'s unpredictability, to Alycia and Sharon being so badly hurt[even though they were now healed and safe] to the fact that Adrian had been able to follow the group so closely without ANYONE noticing until now>>

allright..But Bane, do try to make yourself USEFULL this time. this creature will require ALL of our best efforts.

<<as Guardian created a quick plan, playing of Alexis' idea...Morgan nodded>>

a sound move...Ill send Alexis into the main living area of the cabin. and we can keep an eye on her with Guardian's "sight" or my scrying pool. once she gets him out in the open area in the forest...we do our best to NAIL him.

<<raising her hand>>

good luck Alexis....be carefull!

<< a chime and thunder sounds off as Alexis teleported above ground and into the cabin...she is now in the dark cabin in the living room.. the moonlight shines through the windows as a haunting breeze blows. there's broken glass and disarray all around..clearly there had been violence and conflict here...a few blood spatters on the floor too>>

<<she was alone...and in the house....there was cold feeling in the air...and the house itself seemed to be devoid of any "life" or "warmth"...as the cabin settled..there was an eerie creaking in the air..>>

Meanwhile: << as morgan made sure that sharon and alycia were safely sleeping..she rejoined the others at the monitor and control counsel>>

she's inside...all she has to do is pretend to be Alycia and draw his attention. we better get up to the surface and take our positions. ill cast a cloaking spell...and seal off the entrance of this underground hide out with a warding spell.

<< raising her hand, another disc opens horizontally and the group is teleported above ground...now standing at various points around the opened wooded area ....she quickly waves her hand...and a din of rushing flames is heard as a pentagram of silver mystic flame forms around the entrance of the bunker....the warding spell is now activated>>

everybody get into position....MorningStar, get ready to dazzle the creature was soon as Guardian gives the word.

<< once again...with a gesture and a chime...the three women and man with them were now suitably cloaked and able to position themselves>>

<<whispering>>: its up to Shockwave now...

<< the fog drifted along....as the winds flow through the leaves of the trees all around...the forest looked so forbidding and dangerous under the moonlight>>

:: Nodding to Morgan, Alexis waved her hand as a swirl of white lights and orbs surrounded her body, until finally, Alexis was now Alycia. A perfect replica of her, down to the smallest detail. ::

"Alright, lets do this."

:: She said taking a deep breath in. And with that, Morgan had transported her to the cabin via stepping disk. Looking around the room was still and silent. Papers, furniture, objects, laying everyone showing sign of struggle. Stepping forward, her heals softly clicked on the beautiful oak hardwood flooring. Looking around, her expression showed fear. She needed to act like Alycia would otherwise this thing would see right through her. Gulping, she quickened her breathing making it sound as if she was terrified yet still in control. Her eyes were widder then normal, her body stiff, and hands clenched into fists. As she slowly, but carefully, made her way through the livingroom, she was even fearful of where this being was...she felt like she was in a teen horror movie where Mike Myers or Freddie Kruger would pop out somewhere ready to slash her to bits......but this was real. There really was a killer out there, and she was it's bait. ::

:: Quickly walking up to the large floor to ceiling glass doors that overlooked the lake, she quickly locked the doors, making herself look like Alycia was trying to keep the monster out. Quickly closing the vertical blinds, she was hoping she was as convincing as she thought she was being. Turning her back to the now shaded windows, she looked into the pitch black cabin. Only the smallest hint of light allowed her to see where the furniture was, but that was it. Placing her back against the window, she took a deep breath in. ::

"..Okay...."

Adrian looked mildly surprised. He had expected to fight with them because they were infamous for their iron will. But, if anything, their somewhat reconcilitory mood only highlighted their peril.

As Alison dictated their plan, he stayed silent. No, he hadn't been included, but it didn't bother him. He knew he was better at defense than offense, and he was content in simply accompanying them and intervening if necessary. Though, on that same vein, Adrian himself still had untapped resources to discover, despite his one year under the tutelage of a mysterious, omniscent man. It would definitely take him a while to understand the primordial force that had chosen to reside within him.

Flash!

Wooded area. The sun peered through the trees, and a light, fragrant breeze whispered and rustled amongst the leaves. Adrian and his tutor were running across the branches, defying gravity when they lept up into the air and cleared twenty feet in a gentle glide. "But what is it? It is a creature? Does it have feelings?"

His master suddenly swerved to the left, but with that same assured light step, Adrian adjusted himself accordingly. "It is something more, Adrian. You are it and it is you. A very close relationship, yet one that will have its difficulties. It is not human. You must think outside of earthly interpretations."

"Yes," Adrian replied, as they both jumped up high into the air and began running on leaves.

When the four were teleported to the forest, Adrian immediately felt his muscles relax. He had a strange affinity to the moon, and its glimmering presence comforted him. He looked on with a lazy calm, waiting for the monster to make its presence known and, in the process, seal its end.

"He approaches," Adrian whispered softly and suddenly, his green eyes focused on the bunker entrance. Although the situation was nerve-wrecking and the circumstances unseeming, Adrian felt at home in this world of wood, fog and shadow.

::the fog rolls along..seeming to climb up along the walls around the outside of the cabin.....the breeze whistles as leaves on the earth outside and around the cabin begin to rustle....and wind chimes play a "not so soothing" melody in the air for "alycia" to hear. as she smartly tries to barricade and block off entrances , she notices that a large shift and lengthening of shadows pass through the cracks of the blinds...almost like a large "shape" was drifting past.::

::it SEEMED that he had gone right past the window that "Alycia's" back was facing...and the slow, heavy foot falls seemed to trail off. perhaps he'd moved on in his hunt::

CRASH!!

::MASSIVE, embattled hands smashed through the walls and the glass window......attempting to grab hold of Alycia and PULL HER THROUGH the glass window...he didnt have a total grasp on her YET but once he got it..he would brutalize "her" again if given the chance::

:: Suddenly what light was left in the room dissapeared as the large figure passed the windows. Alexis quickly stopped breathing....everything was silent. Until suddenly two "hands" came crashing in from the window, grabbing ahold of her. Alexis SCREAMED in terror as she dove forward escaping the shapes grasp. Scrambling back, Alexis' eyes widden as she saw how truly massive this thing was. It's red eyes glaring deep into hers. Shit...snap back into character.... ::

"HELP!!! SOMEONE HELP ME!!!"

:: She cried out as Alycia, further convincing the shape that this was it's true target. Scrabbling to stand up, Alexis quickly ran through the dark livingroom, trying to dodge the furniture as best she could, but unfortunatly, as she looked back to see if the shape was following her, her hip hit the side of a cherrywood end table, causing her to fall to the ground. Wincing in pain, her leg had a large gash on it. ::

"Shit!"

:: Scooting herself back, her hand came upon a fallen lamp. Grabbing it she hurled it at the shape. ::

"You fucking bastard!"

:: She yelled as she managed to get back onto her feet. Grabbing a wooden rocking chair that was aside of her, she managed to throw it into it's path as well, trying to keep as much distance between the two of them as possible. Darting for the door, she pressed the palm of her hand onto her gash, trying to releave the pain as she ran. Pushing the screen door open, she quickly ran outside. ::

::Alycia was fast...and despite the fear she mustve felt...she didnt lock up like most victims::

::the super soldier SMASHED throughthe wall...standing tall as the night breeze and fog came through the gaping hole in the wall...he smashed into the house and began coming for Alycia. slow but steady....and focused on her as he glared down::

:: he hurled the couch aside even as Alycia tried to increase the space between them. but as he raised his fist...to pulp her, SHE responded with the defiance she was KNOWN for as she slammed the large lamp into his face...and then threw a wooden rocking chair...he stumbled back just a few steps..the flash of light from the lamp taking him by surprise for a moment. Alycia darts out the screen door and out into the open....::

:: he turned...despite his face being enshrouded in shadow...his eyes seemed to flash with irritation. He WOULD get Alycia...and he would BREAK HER. No one escaped the Super Soldier's wrath...he was the best at what he did....KILLING::

::Guardian , although cloaked, remained hidden behind a large tree....she kept a firm "EYE" on Alexis/"Alycia" as the terrifying "cat and mouse" game with the shape began::

everyone stay in position!! He's made contact with Alexis...and hes GUNNING for her. She has him convinced that SHE is ALYCIA...and she will be successfull in leading him here!!

::the sounds of commotion and screams could be heard in the distance...but Alison admonished everyone to stay put::

:: Running into the woods, she began to dodge branches and jump over fallen trunks. Trying to catch her breath, she stopped for a moment, looking behind her. The only thing that could be heard was Alexis' fast breathing. Gulping, she began to run again, finally reaching the large open area in which Morgan, Alison, Adrian, and Delilah were. Stopping in the middle of the large brush, she didn't see any of them, they were cloaked and in positions. She continued to act as Alycia would. ::

"HELP ME!"

:: Of course, this was a stupid move, screaming help in the middle of the woods, knowing the creature was near by, but of course, Alexis was trying to draw him near, not loose him. Backing up, she continued to hold her palm against her gash, looking around frantically. A look of utter fear on her face. ::
