There is a new major version of the board software out, and that means that many of our old modifications will not work with the new version.

I wanted to gauge people's feelings about the Account Switch, and how people would feel if we didn't have it.
 
What kind of stuff does the new version have? And what modifications wouldn't work?
 
As of right now, karma comments (though one of our fabulous members might code it for us if they get a chance). The account switch. Conversation search though there might be another one made already I'm not sure. The chat box, though I feel like that will get made pretty quickly. Same with the Six Guide wiki. Max posters, the quotes.

It’s new, so it will take the hack authors time to port their stuff to the new version, though not everything may get ported.

Okay I just saw a shoutbox for sale posted, and the wiki people who made what we use for the six guide are working on a version to work with the new software.

Also the top posters thing has been coded.

Ohh I don't know if I like that. I mean, I don't use that many accounts, but with everyone else that seems like it would get annoying really quick.

I mean, is it a necessary upgrade? Are there any new additions that are really cool? Or would be it bad to stick with this version that we currently have?
 
I'm down but would it be possible for us to wait until a decent amount of the mods we use have been ported to the new system? A lot of the things we would be missing are things I personally use very frequently lol. So I would be PMing your ass all the time for passwords and stuff lol.
 
So I wanted to circle back around on this. Still no account switch feature available, and the person who has one for this version says they don't plan on making it for the new version. Bringing it up mainly because since we aren't active right now, it's obviously a good time to do an upgrade, if people want it. But we would have to log out and log back in to any RP accounts until such time as an account switch is made. Which could be next week or never. The end of life from the developer for the version we are on is May 31, which means that after that there will be no further updates to this version.
 
Since there's no other updates to this version after May, maybe we should upgrade to a new version. It's up to you Clara, i'm okay with whatever call you make. :)

I just need to change all my account passwords to something super easy lol
 
I'm wondering if we could use the change post author hack instead? So you would post from whatever account you're logged in front, then click on a link in the post to change the author to whatever character's account.
