“X-Men: Schism” is a funny sort of event where we already know how it ends. There will be two groups of X-Men, one led by Cyclops and the other by Wolverine. That’s practically the selling point of the event: see Cyclops and Wolverine finally go at it.

In recent years, I've found Cyclops to be increasingly harder to tolerate. He already destroyed his credibility w/ how he treated his wife Madelynne & his child in favor of Jean & that was YEARS ago. Then he threw Jean over for the White Queen. I'll admit, he definately held it down during X-men: Second Coming. I was impressed by his skill handling the immense threat of Bastion & The Human Council. But I think he's been toeing the line even during that time w/ his ethics & his view of himself as the "leader of all mutants." Even Wolverine has balked @ some of his behavior & THAT is telling. He did USE Wolfsbane & X-23 in ways that were almost callous & his obsession w/ Hope made him come across like the leader of a CULT rather than trying to keep mutants together & working cohesively. He totally shitted on Rogue following the conclusion of Second Coming even though she was key to them winning their finaly battle on the Golden Gate bridge.

Now...I'm REALLY pissed. He's incarcerated several of his own, INCLUDING MAGIK in a high tech prison 500 ft below the sea. So now HIS judgement is final?

Has he forgotten what Quentin Quire did @ the x-mansion, not to mention during the X-men: Phoenix Endsong story? Quentin is an omega level psychic & totally sociopathic. His latest return prooves that he's no less given over to deadly & destructive behavior but Cyclops wants to continue to harbor him? Yet he would throw ppl like Rogue & Magik who were justified for what they did under the bus.
