X-factor Investigations

is the latest incarnation of the X-factor team that began w/ the reunion of the original five X-men back in '86 & later was revamped as a federal authorized mutant strike force featuring Havok, Polaris & Forge among others.

since 2005, Peter David has been writing this title & while once again I'm late getting on board, thanks to my library, i've had a few tpb's to read that showed me what i was missing! WOW. Peter David is a good writer & this current roster is the perfect motley crew of strong/maladaptive personalities.

I LOVE the fact that the team is now based out of Detroit! :D

I also love that M is on the team. I'd say she & Siryn are the team's most powerfull. It also features Wolfsbane, Strong Guy, Madrox (formerly 'Multiple Man', also the leader of the team), House of M holdover - Layla Miller, Rictor & Longshot

M is still the bitch she's always been since her debut in Generation X. She's grown, gained depth & all...but she's STILL a bitch. I always wonder why she doesnt get a chance to shine on the front lines w/ the X-men but I realize that she'd be too much for a repressed asshole like Cyclops to control & her former headmistress, White Queen already knows what's up.

Still, the writing in this book makes the characters very interesting to follow. I love the acidic interaction between M & Wolfsbane- who has come quite a ways from the religious repressed little girl she once was on the New Mutants...if anything she's a bit of a freaky tramp now LOL :haha: ; Madrox's fluxuation between being a leader w/ courage & being a man totally unable to make a descision LOL; Layla Miller driving everybody insane w/ her cryptic monologues; Rictor, who tries WAY too hard. Siryn, who's quite aggressive.

Anybody else reading this title?
 
I actually like this book a lot, Peter David is really working the title and doesn't look like he's going to be leaving it any time soon. I just hope it doesn't follow in the cuts that are hitting Marvel now. About five books have been canceled (X-23, Wolverine, Ghost Rider, Black Panther and Alpha Flight) It's popular i just hope it's popular enough
 
I just heard about Alpha Flight's cxl but not about Wolverine's. Well i guess saturating MU w/ him has finally come back to bite. X-23 rocks...but I dont think she's able to pull off a solo title. I'd love to see her in a "birds of prey" style book w/ 2 or 3 other awesome yet dysfunctional women. perhaps magik, moonstar & surge?

yeah peter david is doing a great job! i hope x-factor sticks. arent havok & polaris supposed to return to the team? i thought i saw them in the line up post Schism. & w/ Longshot back...I'm hoping for a reunion between him & Dazzler, who's on Cyclops' Xtinction time.

Meanwhile, it's taken me YEARS to stop dismissing Layla Miller as utter crap. I HATED her in House of M & she came across like a poor plot device that Bendis couldnt do a better job of pulling together. But POST house of m, especially when she busted out Peitro's ass to Callisto & Marrow & later had to defend herself from Peitro & that weird robot girl, I started to like her a BIT.

Still...if she's not a precog then what the hell is she?
 
you needed to read X-factor to find out, I can't remember the issue itself but at the time it made a decent and intelligent enough twist that i found it to be a little brilliant. I'm not spoiling that for you.
