so Spiderman 3 blasted off in theatres with much success. there have been other comic to movie crossovers that have aquitted themselves well like Fantastic Four, which has a sequel soon to launch; Superman Returns, picking up where the original franchise left off and making an affectionate nod toward the first two original films; Batman the beginning, Hellboy, Sin City etc.

there have been many others that weren't so well received: the X-men movies, Incredible Hulk, Daredevil and its spinoff Elektra, Catwoman!

there are MORE on the way ....Wonder Woman , after more than a decade "in development" is trying to come to the screen and there's talk of movies for Emma Frost (the White Queen), as well as a "prequel" for Magneto and a "spinoff" from the X-men series for Wolverine.

But with comic to movie treatments coming faster and more "developments" being started for future characters...some of which really dont seem to WARRANT the "big screen" treatment...i have to wonder, which comic-to-movie project do you think has been the absolute WORST

Catwoman had to be the worst of them all. The story didn't really flow as nicely as other movies like Fantastic Four or Spider-Man and the costume was well...it should be stored away in a Dominatrix's closet and never put on the big screen ever again.

i had the highest hopes for a catwoman movie for years..but i feel like they too to long to bring that to the screen. by now, Michelle Pfieffer was not being considered (and was reported not interested in reprising the role 14 years later)...and they really didnt promote it properly or give the movie going public a REASON to care about seeing this film.

Halle Berry? i think we've seen just how FLAT she falls when playing female comic characters ( storm anyone?) Halle Berry is a dramatic actress, she doesnt fare well in lighter roles.

Catwoman was originally portrayed by a black woman on television (Eartha Kitt) and while there was nothing wrong with casting a black woman in the role for the big screen..it should have been someone OTHER than Halle.

AND the writers/producers..whoever was involved SHOULD have stuck to continuity and mythos. WHO THE HELL was Patience Phillips? what happened to Selina Kyle? the storyline made little sense, was relevant to nothing and not worth caring about.

the IDEA of a Catwoman movie rocked...several years ago i read a CatWoman paper back novel and it was so dark and so engaging..i carried that book with me all the time and read it every chance i got. I wish the writers and producers had taken the time to develope a truly decent story worth of Catwoman.

I had too go for Elektra, seriously, that was no Elektra in my eyes, must have a seriously malfunctioning LMD (life model decoy)

Totally out of characther me thinks, very predictable too, i was always 2-3 steps ahead of the movie, knowing what was gonna happen.
If i dont remember right the Hand ninjas actually did just vanish once killed, that was good though :D

Fantastic Four didn't impress me in any ways either, a bit booring actually.

Catwoman was comparatively sub-par to me also, but the one thing about that movie that REALLY pissed me off was people hating it more because there was a Black Catwoman. I understand saying the catsing was weak (good point), or that the plot was stupid (another good one), but to hate her for trying to be woman o color in the role when Catwoman is "supposed" too be white was infuriating. I had the same issue with the role of Kingpin in Daredevil.

i never heard that around me. most people immediately figured that having a black cat woman was a nod to Eartha Kitt who played the first Catwoman on TV (although Julie Newmar, the 2nd [and white] CatWoman probably gets JUST as much recognition for the role as Eartha). i couldve cared less WHAT color she was...But HALLE shouldnt have played the role. she cant play super heroines. STORM prooves that lol. anyone who was that rigid to think that a black cat woman was the reason the movie failed is just stupid and doesnt know much history.

Alot of GUYS that i know of wanted to see the movie if for no other reason than to see Halle Berry and Sharon Stone FIGHT. Sharon had the best insults in the movie, but they were wasted on characters who couldnt even BEGIN to match her wit. not even the "highly anticipated catfight" between Halle and Sharon could save that movie.

Daredevil? that movie failed because Ben Affleck CANT ACT his way out of a paper bag. Michael Clark Duncan was probably the ONLY person worth watching in the film beside Jennifer Garner.

I agree on both points. I will simply say that I have encountered resistance to her race regarding the role on another board.

i can almost guess which board. as if any of THEM was THAT into the catwoman continuity or her reach into pop culture? these are the same people who think Wolverine conquers all.

but dont let me get started on THAT lol.

Still can't believe they didn't want Joss' Wonder Woman, really disappointed me.
I don't know which movies were the worst, I loved X-Men but I haven't read too many of the comics so I'm not really qualified as a judge, heh..
