so SAD. R.I.P., Whitney

It's always sad when people pass away, especially too early.

R.I.P Whitney

[Screen Legend]

I was just about to post this. Aww, this is a real shame.

[Foxfire]

I was with my mother when my older brother texted her to inform her Whitney passed away. At first, I was like "no, it's gotta be a hoax, like with Bon Jovi." When I got home I saw the news on CNN. I grew up with Whitney's music as a child of the 80's, and even continuing to become a fan in the 90's. She was a powerful singer, and nobody could touch her vocally, at least I felt that way. Whitney set the stage for other singers, and performers. I'm at a loss to find out the news is true, and she is dead at 48. Such a horrible loss, she will be greatly missed. RIP Whitney.

This is so sad! She was only 48 years old....She was truly one of the most amazing voices of all time. The definition of a true singer. RIP Whitney.

[Persephone]

Effortless! Just effortless. She sings like a person breathes.

the uplifting dance track from "The Preacher's Wife". It was written by Annie Lennox, who also provided backing vocals to Whitney's pristine vocals! ahhh the memories from that year, 1996

Her rendition of the Start Spangled Banner was the best I have ever heard of a classic singing if the song. I happen to also be a fan of Marvin Gaye at the '83 NBA All-Star game, but that is neither here nor there in this thread.

She will be missed.

I heard she was with Ray J and he found her. Damn.

[Karma]

It's been confirmed that Ray-J was no where near when her bodyguard found her.

This features a great montage of Whitney's different looks through her long, illustrious career & the song is from her "Preacher's Wife" film. She has roots in gospel music & her mother was a gospel songstress.
