With which characters do you resonate?

From the people who brought you "The Greatest Artist", and "Greatest Stories Never Told", a new thread, daring enough to ask: which comics characters do you sympathise with? With whom do you share a common spark? Feel you have the anachronistic nobility of Thor, the misunderstood misanthropy of The Hulk, or the megalomaniacal monomania of Doctor Doom? Let us know!

I, myself, feel myself to be conceptually closest to Spider-Man. I am quite shy and retiring in person until you get to know me, which means that often people just see a geek. But I have something else going on, something much more interesting, which is that I write and draw (and am proud of both), that people don't know when forming opinions about me.

Other characters that I admire or like are the Silver Surfer, Thanos, Wolverine and Reed Richards, although they have to be written well, as there are elements within each that I sympathise with.

So, over to you. Who are you? Who are you like?

When trying to be romantic/suave I'd honestly say I'm like Gambit (and have been told that by my geek girlfriends, though they may have just been trying to patronize me LOL).

I'm very proud of who I am and who my ancestors were, so in that respect I'd say I'm like Black Panther.

I haven't gotten laid in awhile, so I'm like Frank Castle. ;) (man I'm tired to be posting stuff like this)

Really, the character I resonate with the most with though is Gambit. Not because I look good in a trenchcoat, but because much like him I go after what I can't have and want it because I know I can't have it. I use my humor to diffuse serious situations, love to gamble, think life is a game, have a six o clock shadow at the moment.

Magik- as a young girl she was as innocent as the first snow flakes in the air...no wonder her brother called her "little snow flake". but she endured such hellish nightmares in Limbo that transformed her into a woman and a powerfull sorceress. She was always on the side of "good" but Wolverine would have been proud of her lethal instinct.

I identify with her not only because people say i look like her, but because i can see why she acts the way she does...going through one thing after the other...it makes her hardened, vicious, cold and hostile.

Warbird- another blonde who is out going, able to take charge and very capable, but she's also one who wont HESITATE to kick your ass. She's got a strong will and personality much like myself and even wolverine labled her a ball buster once. In her day's as BINARY she would've given Dark Phoenix a run for her money at least in terms of her blood thirsty, dominant, agressive attitude and her POWER was off the charts...literally. and anyone who knows me well knows that if i get royally pissed...all HELL is going to break loose! :vamp: :lec:

Nice thread. ;)

Hmmm, I'd say Wolverine. He's grouchy, angry, and sarcastic and sometimes he has difficulty controlling that inner beast of his. I do the same and I often act before I think. And I'm very passive - aggressive. And he can be a bit of a loner, which is me. I like to be independent and play off as "tough" but deep down I need others, whether family or friends.

The second character is Shadowcat due to her bond to Magik, who Farrah resembles. The way Farrah and I used to act heavily resembled the two best friends. They lean on one another through thick and thin. And Kitty is clever and cunning, yet someone to lend her shoulder to cry on.

And lastly, I'd say Jubilee, mostly because I'm the baby of the family and for it I'm left behind because I'm "too young" or I'm coddled, which I hate. My older brother has his freedom but I'm constantly compared to him and babied for it. :blah: Not to mention, I love shopping, its my second home. ;)

Sadly I feel like I’m more like Jubilee than any other comic book character. She’s never been one of my favorite favorites, but I relate to her so well. Except for the parents being murdered thing. I like going to the mall for no reason even if I don’t have any money. I don’t really dress as colorfully as she does, obviously, but I do have style. *smiles* Just kidding about that last part. I always feel like I’m treated like a child. Maybe because I AM treated like a child. Maybe that’s because I AM sort of a child, but I still don’t like, like, being treated that way…yeah.
It seems like I’m always trying to do grown-up things like driving my mother’s car or putting money in my bank account. It never works out well, though. I used to get SO jealous because my ex-boyfriend [if you can even call him that] got to drive before I did. *pouts* I like candy, too. The was random…anyway, yeah. Whatever. *rolls eyes like Jubilee*

I find myself, in terms of political viewopint, to be most like Green Arrow in that I hate tyrannical overlords who use force to impose their beliefs.

In terms of attitude I'd asy I most resemble Xavier in that I think all can get along.

In terms of look I'd say Cannonball and his natty goggles.

I am the biggest Hulk fan. I like the overall Frankenstein/Jekyll&Hyde premise to his story. I am not always happy with how they treat him in the comics (he is usually a beatable doofus in mist comics other than his own, unless the chips are down) but I am really a sucker for all things Hulk.

Nomad during his Lone Wolf and Cub incarnation a displaced out of sorts guy just trying to find what's real to him.

Wolverine because every guy wants to be him just little bit.

Silver Surfer when he's not getting his butt handed to him by Thanos and few other people who should be able to do it to start. Just for the sheer ability to leave the earth behind and see what lies beyond the stars.

Well I think I resemble many characters mixed into one. I am like a Peter Parker. I didn't say Spider-Man because when Pete puts on the mask, his personality changes completely. I am VERY shy. I can hardly talk to people sometimes. I would say I'm also kind of like Spider-Man, I am a joker and very sarcastic. I find my self always helping out in any way I can, so that resembles Spidy as well. As much as it hurts to say it, I am also like Cyclops. I am a boy scout in many ways.

If I can be like anybody, I will try my hardest to become like Tony Stark, Iron Man. Tony Stark is a billionaire playboy, with a perfect personality. Iron Man always fights for good and stands up for what he believes in. And I someday hope to achieve the will power Tony Stark has. I would say that’s his greatest asset, his will. He can do ANYTHING if he wanted. I would like to be like that.
