What's missing from music today? Yes there are some obvious things to be pointed out but i mean with the industry in general!
everday you can pick up a magazine and read articles on truly talented, interesting artists, bands etc. I actually get SPIN in the mail and thanks to that mag, ive been able to try artists i might not have known about otherwise. and yet on the radio THESE days, you end up only hearing the same no talent hacks.
an artist like Chrisette Michelle or Amerie is passed up for someone like Beyonce' for massive radio play and there's no real variety anymore.
every decade has its highlights...particularly the 80s and 90s...but from the 00's onward, its all been down hill. autotune, copycats, and the marketing of the lightly talented "new" instead of the truly talented and established "old" has left alot of people cold on buying music.
what could the industry in general do to get the excitment of the people back? what are some "trends" in the music business that are better left by the wayside?
