<< the night comes and goes, bringing a new day. the uninterrupted splendor of the ocean, the morning winds and the sun. the island and its inhabitants both human and otherwise began to stir.>>

<< Tinkerbell and the kitten made sure to arrive in their mother's room and climb on to her bed, casually walking on her AND Nicolas as hey mewed softly...announcing it was time to feed them and all across the island...everyone would awaken to a new day. Though it didnt mean there wouldnt be any turmoil through the day>>

<< and so we watch>>

Haleigh rises shortly after daybreak [a rather lazy, late wakeup by HER standards] and sets about making her preparations for the day. She is expecting Mike for breakfast and plans to be exceedingly ROUGH with him in the training session well into midmorning, effectively 'breaking him in' and simultaneously warming up for sparring with Nicolas. She is still blithely unaware that Alison is on the island, though she DID shudder at the fleeting sensation that she was being watched last night....

Seeing no need to change from her red silk kimono, she slips on a pair of flip-flops and ties her hair back into a sloppy bun as she heads across the compound to the kitchen, where she pours a glass of iced tea and forages in the fridge for ideas for breakfast.... Mike was going to need all the strength and stamina he could muster and so, Haleigh wanted to make him a five star feast.... it wasn't often she cooked for others, and it had been SO long since she'd cooked breakfast for a MAN that she'd forgotten how much fun it was. As a technopath it became like a game to juggle the tasks of preparing pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, and toast with surprisingly little difficulty.

As Tinkerbell walked on Nicolas, his eyes opened immediately. One advantage of his power was that he recovered rapidly and needed almost NO sleep, a necessity when your girlfriend can bench-press 70+ TONS and she hasn't had her fix in a while.:p

Getting up smoothly, Nicolas pecked Morgan cheek as he telekinetically raided his own fridge, getting Tinkerbell and the kitty fresh fish chunks to eat and milk to drink. He nuzzled the cats and set them down to feed. He showered quickly, returning to give them an additional helping. He whispered to the cats as they ate.

Sorry, but I've gotta run. Gotta go train with Mike and Haleigh. Don't tell Mommy, let her rest, deal? We will all hang out again real soon.

With that, Nicolas put on a pair of workout shorts and and matching shoes, walking out to the open air where he met Mike....

who had taken the opportunity of a very giving Karen to have an early morning interlude, gently yet quite satisfying all around. He left her sleeping as he showered, put on his own outfit and met Nicolas where they landed last night.

You ready, Nic?

The question is, are YOU ready Mike?

I'm not afraid of hard work.

Good, because she can and WILL be merciless. Let's not keep her waiting...

With that, Nicolas and Mike left the rotunda...

landing at Haleigh's doorstep, as it were. Certain that she would sense their presence, they waited patiently for her to let them in... until they both smelled breakfast cooking and then decided to call for her. LOUDLY.

Open up, girl! That food smells far too good to miss!

Rotunda- chamber of dreams

<< After a tender evening with Nicolas, Morgan felt less forgotten...less lost. She slept peacefully for the first time since arriving on Aerie. Trusting enough to allow Nicolas to share her bed, as she never truly slept soundly when a men was present in her home...the scars of her father's terror had left a deep mark on her psyche, one that Nicolas had gotten a glimpse of the first time he (or just about ANY telepath for that matter) had accessed her mind on the astral plane.)>>

<< perhas it was the loss of a sense of time, no longer having to pop up aft 5 am and engage in AS GRUELING a work out....whatever the reason, "sleeping in" seemed to come easy to the sorceress. even when her babies arrived and began to mew softly for their breakfast, she did not hear them. Nicolas however did. After lightly kissing her on the cheek, he feeds her babies and whispers to them not disturb mommy so she can rest. Tinkerbell was most likely to have actually understood, but she was too busy enjoying her delicious fish and milk.>>

<< as Nicolas met with Mike and the two men left to meet Haleigh for a training session, Morgan simply turned over , still sleeping peacefully as the sunlight slowly circled the room through the carved out "windows" high above near the domed ceiling.>>

<< after a while, the cats climbed on the bed, happy and content, they groomed themselves and each other...purring with contentment as they curled up near their mommy...and soon, they drifted off to sleep too. a very serene sight indeed.>>

another area of the Rotunda

<< the doctor did not recall having such IN DEPTH intimacy, even with her husband Christopher. Though her time with chrisopher was indeed "loving" in the beginning, he was not NEARLY as adventurous or as creative as Mike. Karen enjoyed herself like never before, appreciating Aretha's anthem "Natural Woman" on a whole new level. She even allowed herself to be led into new territory with "early morning encounters" with Mike, something she never did with Christopher. She'd always known that a younger man could definately appreciate an older woman but now she knew it AND felt it.>>

<< she lay sleeping, looking far less poised in bed than she would if she were back in her loft in Soho. She had had a wonderfull evening, and she was reminded that it was OKAY to feel and enjoy these things. She was not just a doctor, a mother or a witch...she was first and foremost a WOMAN with needs, which Mike was happy to fullfill and she found herself being easily willing reciprocate.>>

<< Mike left her to sleep as he showered and prepared to meet with Nicolas. Unknown to Karen, he was meeting with them for training and the production of a new suit of armour to augment his physical skills. She didnt care for Haleigh in the slightest, but she was willing to risk trusting that Mike was not nearly as dispicabe as Cameron and would not allow the woman's bad communications to corrupt his good manners.>>

<< and so as Mike left, Karen continued to sleep, her daughter doing the same thing in another area and level of the rotunda.>>

Haleigh finished emptying a skillet of bacon onto a large serving plate with the sausage links and eggs as Mike and Nicolas arrived at the lagoon. She heard them calling from across the compound and called back as she emerged from the kitchen onto the patio and brought out the eggs/meats plate and a fresh fruit spread of peeled and sliced mangoes, kiwis, pineapples, and strawberries.

"Good morning Boys! I hope you brought your appetites. Help me set the table? Dishes are in the glass cabinets above the counters, you'll see them."

The guys could definitely get used to this. They just spent the night romancing beautiful women to wake up and be served breakfast by another beauty in a sexy silk RED kimono before their workout. Smiling, they gave her a respectful but appreciative once-over, then obediently moved to retrieve the place settings. Nicolas did not used his TK this time, hoping to set a trend for his training with Haleigh. Haleigh would also notice a large trunk that Mike carried containing his combat suit, and he set it near the table.

As they returned, they set the places for them all and Nicolas pulled out Haleigh's seat for her.

This was TOO much, Haleigh. Allow me to reciprocate this evening for dinner.

The trio sat and began to enjoy the feast as Nicolas poured Orange Juice for Mike and himself and whatever Haleigh wished...

Aerie

:: Alison didnt sleep much normally. She was up shortly after Nicolas and Mike. Wearing her blue corsett and black mini skirt.::

hmm..too early for hemlock.

:: she said absent mindedly as she slowly combed hair now longer, auburn streaked black hair. she looked at herself in the vanity mirror and her cobalt eyes seemed to stare back THROUGH her.::

:: Morgan and Karen were sleeping, best to let them rest...none of them was at Illustra and no one had any pressing engagements. Even Alison had a more relaxed schedule now that Minerva's soldiers and she enjoyed a trusting bond and Pandora was safe and secured.::

hmm what to do now?

:: she knew she'd be having a late lunch with Morgan and Karen but she had several hours to spare. she could spy on Persephone :D, or watch the training session without being seen...but something within suggested that maybe the best thing to do was to ::

visit Delilah.

:: she finished brushing her hair, and continued to look at herself in the mirror...she still felt badly for how harsh she h ad been with her dear friend and thought it dismayed her to no end to think of herself as "going soft", she felt the need to check up on the mutant and see how she was doing...to see if THEY were still okay.::

:: and so she BLINKS out of her guest chambers in the Rotunda and moves across the island, a pair of cobalt blue eyes flickers briefly in the sky above Nicolas, Mike and Haleigh as Alison zips over to Delilah's home which is closer to the ocean than some of the others on the island. instead of just APPEARING inside, Delilah decides to offer some discretion and knock on the front door. it was quite a nice little home, fitting of Delilah's personal taste.::

Delilah was used to late nights on stakeouts or Six disasters, so she was accustomed to sleeping late. But since they had been on the island, she had turned over a new leaf, often rising early (for her, at least). She had already done Tai Chi on the beach earlier, and now she was cooking a breakfast of eggs and turkey bacon when there was a knock at the door.

Turning off the stove and wiping her hands on a dish towel, she moved through the patterns of sunlight on the floor of the front hall to the door.

"Nicolas, I appreciate the help but you HAVE to stop TKing me things for the house - someone's going to start noticing..." she called through the door, stopping abruptly as she opened it and saw that Alison was there. Her face became serious and then attempted a nervous smile.

"Alison. It's good to see you. Come in."

She moved aside so the Seer could enter.

"I was just cooking breakfast - can I get you something? Something to eat, or drink? I just made some fresh iced tea."

But Delilah was nervous. WHY was Alison here, after all this time? It couldn't be good, whatever the reason. Something was surely wrong.

:: Rays of warm sunlight showered in through the numerous windows of Persephone's bedroom, while a cool ocean breeze swept throughout from the open french doors. The white netting of her canopy bed blew ever so slightly around her king sized bed as both Ava and James laid tangled in white satin sheets. It was a blissful night to say the least. After their 'swim' in Ava's own personal natural hot springs, they made their way back to the villa and continued with their night of passion. It seemed EVERYONE was having a stress relieving night....except for Haleigh and Delilah. :D With her arm draped across James' torso, Ava laid sleeping on her stomach with her head resting on his chest. James was already awake, his head propped up on some pillows and positioned to see the wonderful view of the ocean. Finally, Ava began to stir; the sound of a couple loud seagulls flying by the window drawing her out of her slumber. Opening her eyes, Ava turned her head up, seeing James looking down at her. ::

James: "Good morning." [Ava smiled sleepily as James placed a finger under her chin, lifting it a bit more so he could kiss her. After a few moments, their kiss ended.] "You stay here...i'll go make us some breakfast."

:: Lifting herself up allowing James to climb out of bed, Ava held the white satin sheet up by her chest. Running her fingers through her long loosely curled locks, they was a bit messy...but it looked like she had styled it that way on purpose. ::

James: "Belgian waffles with strawberries and cream?"

"Mmm...and coffee."

:: James smiled, giving Ava a peck on the lips before leaving the bedroom and heading to the kitchen to make them breakfast. Falling back into bed, Ava closed her eyes, taking a deep breath in before sighing out. If this was any indication of how life would now be, Ava would of exposed them all long before Conner had the chance. :D ::

As Nicolas sat enjoying his breakfast, he noticed that a presence form last night was still on the island. A FOREIGN one. He smiled as he realized that he and Mike weren't the only lucky men on the island today. However, he knew that this situation would be troublesome, so he sent Ava a proposal...

Good morning Ava. I noticed that you were entertaining last night. I am glad for you, James is good people. However, I am concerned that you are exposing him to great danger in the future. I will let you handle when/if/how this gets out, but I am proposing something that will help him as he returns from this island. If you like, I can telekinetically "tag" him so that I can locate him if he gets in trouble. I can also, with your consent and his cooperation, partition his memories of you and here so that they cannot be forced from him in confession except by a telepath of greater skill and might than I. If someone tried to get information on us, they would get nothing form him no matter what. Additionally, any concerted attempt will alert me and render him safely unconscious. I offer this as a safeguard in case any of our new deeds attract attention. People like him will be the first targets for anyone who wants info on whether we in fact still live. Mike had the same situation for years, there is no risk of harm to him. What do you say?

Haleigh thanked Nicolas gracefully as he pulled out her chair and requested a fresh glass of iced tea as he was pouring the drinks. Loading her plate with a little bit of everything, she ate heartily and had a habit of urging the guys to have second helpings.

Nicolas said:
This was TOO much, Haleigh. Allow me to reciprocate this evening for dinner.

"I thought we were going to do lunch after the training session? Besides.... we'd better NOT have dinner together.... wouldn't want you-know-who to get the wrong idea.... THAT'S potentially disastrous. I don't CARE what they think or SAY about me, but I hope they didn't give you two a hard time about being here... [halving a mini sausage link rather violently with her fork, her tone dry and somewhat bitter] I'm SURE they tried to talk you out of our little arrangement.... I imagine they're afraid I'll poison your SOULS or something equally ridiculous. No doubt to them I'm the most depraved, perverse person to ever walk the planet and they fear my particular kind of UNSPEAKABLE turpitude is contagious.... so they brand me 'PARIAH' and all but FORBID the rest of you from seeing me."

:: The aroma of waffles and coffee made it's way up to the master suite, prompting Ava to smile. She was planning on spending the entire day in bed; hell, what else was there to do on this island? Propping herself up on her elbow, suddenly, a voice came blaring into her head, startling her. ::

"Christ!....Nicolas?!"

:: The NERVE of him! Sitting up fully now, Ava listened as Nicolas began this long, drawn out message about her and James, him being in danger...telepathic implants?! Grunting out as she closed her eyes, she began to massage her temples until, finally, Nicolas stopped talking. ::

"What do I say?...How about GET OUT OF MY HEAD! You're unbelievable, you know that? And there's no 'James and I', alright? We're just...FRIENDS, not that it's any of your business....WHY am I explaining this to you. UGH, Nicolas, you are by far the most irritating man i've ever met in my LIFE!"

:: Cupping her hands over her face, Ava inhaled a deep breath before slamming both hands into the mattress. Calming down a bit, she knew Nicolas was only trying to look out for James' well being, and hers as well. It just annoyed her to know that TWO people knew he was here...and that she was becoming intimate with him. Blame it on the 'don't kiss and tell' rule that Demeter drilled into her head as a child, but it just made the goddess feel utterly exposed. Sighing out. ::

"I'm sorry...I know you're just trying to help...and I do appreciate it. I was just caught a little off guard by your sudden...'appearance' in my head. I'll speak to James about what you suggested and get back to you later."

:: Hearing James call from the kitchen, saying breakfast is almost done, Ava's mood became more somber. Nicolas was right...if they were to be discovered again, people could go after James, trying to get information. It was unlikely, really..but still a frightful thought. Climbing out of bed, Ava pulled on a thin black mini robe and tied it tightly around her waist. Perhaps it was time for him to leave the island..::

Aerie- Delilah's place

:: Delilah opens the door and clearly is a bit nervous. Alison, who was never one to smile much, offered a slight smile and a calm response.::

good morning.

:: Delilah offered her to come in and Alison stepped in, looking around.::

quite a nice, cozy place you have here.

:: she said with a bit of warmth in her tone. as Delilah offered her something, Alison nodded to the negaive.::

no, thank you. i'm fine.

I really just came by...because...well we havent really talked in a couple weeks, since everything happened. I never really said "goodbye" before returning to Minerva's because i was still upset....more with Haleigh than you.

:: she walked with Delilah.::

I want you to understand...I didnt enjoy, nor did i LOOK FORWARD to being upset or hard on you...and I hope that i didn't hurt your feelings.

:: Alison was not one to offer any apology of any kind to most people, but Delilah was a friend, like a sister at times. Alison didnt want to mistreat those who were close to her...but coming from a toxic family dynamic, she learned at an early age how to get vicious and fast with someone when it seemed they were doing her wrong.::

I hope that you're feeling better now.

:: looking out toward the ocean.::

Morgan is not doing so well, nor Karen. I came here to see about them last night. stayed at the rotunda. they are both sleeping right now and i thought to let them rest would be best.

I also saw Ava...

:: deciding not to mention that she was breaking the trust of the goddesses as well as Morgan and Karen by bringing a mortal to the island. she understood WHY Ava needed to see James but she didnt agree with having him HERE, whether he knew their secret or not...the whole idea was to be HIDDEN from the world at a time when they needed to be most. She would keep from revealing it..but she wasnt all too sure that someone like ATHENA would not.::

Nicolas and Mike are at Haleigh's....some sort of training session.

Nicolas smirks a bit as the pair of sisters bombard him on two different channels with their issues. He decided to simply let Ava go away for now, nothing would be gained from responding to her in any case. Hopefully though, she will listen and understand his offer of help. As for Haleigh, he decided to make things clear, immediately. Glancing at Mike, who nodded to him, he spoke in response. Both men's voices were tinged with indignation as they let the mutant know that they were in no way controlled by anyone.

NICOLAS: Haleigh look, we did leave a bit hastily last night, and I apologize for that. But it was not because we were CAUGHT here with you. How anyone on this island spends their time is their business. I spend time with you because I enjoy doing so. Hell, you're the ONLY other scientific mind on the island and we have come to far for me to leave the friendship that we have built. The discussion we had with Karen and Morgan had to do with issues between the pair of couples...

MIKE: And in any case, I am my own man. I can stand and speak for myself and what I want. And I do not choose to get into this family spat you guys are having. Besides, it's obvious that you four go at it because you are really similar. But if you prefer, lunch it is.

The pair of men were finished with their breakfast by now, and Mike stood, offering to clean up the table. He took Nicolas' plate and offered for Haleigh's, winking at her to let her know all was well.

:: Leaning her shoulder on the frame of the open french doors, Ava had her arms crossed along her chest and her head resting to the side as well. Looking out at the ocean, it was time for the goddess to stop being selfish and putting her team's secret and well being in jeopardy...this was a good end; a good way to say goodbye to James. They had spent one wonderful week of bliss and relaxation together. He knew she was alive and well, which was all Ava had wanted him to know. Hearing the bedroom door open, Ava lifted her head and looked over her shoulder, seeing James enter with a tray of waffles, strawberries and cream, and coffee. ::

James: "What are you doing out of bed? I can't serve you breakfast in bed if your over there...and dressed."

:: James gave her a smirk, but Ava only returned his teasing joke with a faint smile. He placed the tray of food down on the bed, looking more concerned as he walked over to Ava. ::

James: "What's wrong?" [Ava turned to him] "You need to leave..." [James lowered both eyebrows giving her a questionable look] "Why? Everything's been perfect.." [Ava shook her head, crossing past him] "I was naive and irresponsible to bring you here. I could risk our exposure --" [James cut in] "You KNOW I won't say anything." [Sighing, Ava sat down on the edge of the bed] "I'm not worried about you saying anything, i'm worried about WHO might try to pry it out of you. There are dangerous people out there, James. People who wouldn't hesitate to kill you for information if they think you have it. I was just so....BLINDED by..by THIS [gesturing between them] to think rationally about what I was doing. I guess I decided to take a page out of Haleigh's book and just live in the moment."

:: James slowly made his way over to Ava, standing in front of her, sighing. Running his hand down the side of her head, he understood what she was saying, but it was still difficult to hear. ::

James: "I understand your position...I may not like it, but I understand it. I don't want you to get in any trouble with your team because of this..so i'll leave whenever your ready for me to. [pausing, James looked down at Ava who finally looked up at him] When will I see you again?" [Ava hesitated, unsure of the answer] "I..honestly don't know."

:: It wasn't the answer he was hoping for, nor was it the answer Ava wanted to give. The two just stayed silent for a few moments until James finally placed both hands on Ava's upper arms, drawing her up from the bed and to her feet. Kissing her, he then embraced her in a hug, knowing this could be the last moment they would ever see each other. ::

"Nicolas...erase all of James' memories of Aerie...and me being alive. I'm taking him back now."

:: And with that, both James and Ava were engulfed in a tornado of winds, disappearing from the island. ::

Nicolas inhaled deeply as he heard Ava'a request. It pained him because he could feel how badly this felt. But he paused as she returned him back and, taking advantage of James' disorientation from teleportation and sadness at leaving Ava, Nicolas cleanly removed any trace of memory of Ava being alive or their time at Aerie. The only thing that James would know is that wherever Ava's spirit was, she would care for him VERY much. Nicolas DID leave him THAT.

“Yeah, I’ll bet they are.” She smirked.

She led Alison inside to the living room, and motioned for her to have a seat on the plush white couch. She herself took a seat in one of the armchairs. She shifted a bit, not sure how to reply to the things Alison had already brought up. She started to speak, then stopped, then started again.

“Alison. [pause] Despite how you see yourself [she smiled] I don’t think you’re a cold, vindictive person. Of course I don’t think you purposefully were angry or lashed out at me. We can’t always control our emotions, none of us.”

She looked out of the window for a second.

“My feelings WERE hurt – of course they were. But I brought that on myself, I know that now. It’s not your fault, and you weren’t wrong. I keep replaying things in my mind, trying to figure out what I could have done differently that would have saved us…”

She drifted off for a second, then snapped back to the present, sitting up taller and looking directly at Alison.

“But that’s not important now, what is wrong with Morgan and Karen?”

Haleigh sat back and smiled as Mike took her plate. She drained the last of her tea and dabbed at her lips with a cloth napkin.

"Just put the dishes in the dishwasher, Mike. and Of COURSE you're free to do what you please.... that's not what I meant. It's just that.... I HATE that you two have to be stuck in the middle of this STUPID feud. I don't know WHY they're being so damn obstinate about this. Well... i know why KAREN is.... I'm the spawn of Satan in her eyes, and can do no right. But Morgan and Alison.... I dunno.... I thought our friendship was stronger than that. One day Morgan is going to have to realize that her mother contributes as MUCH to the quarrel as I do.... and that her mother can hold her own JUST FINE. Morgan didn't NEED to get involved.... I wish I didn't have to have a falling out with HER every time her mother and I have a row.... and I don't even know WHAT Alison's problem is.... just that she avoids me like the plague. Because of the Alycia thing? Utterly absurd. Why do I have to be the villain just because I didn't want Alycia to leave? [standing from the table] Whatever. I don't want to discuss it anymore... it stresses me out and unlike YOU.... I haven't got someone to snuggle with all night and help me unwind. Let's go start training."

She said, leading them down the path headed for the combat room. She let them into the structure, which was decorated like a japanese dojo, and excused herself to her master chambers so that she could change into a more appropriate outfit [an underarmor tank top and karate pants].

"[coming back into the structure] Alright..... a quick brief on the setting, yes? As you may have gathered, the floor is thinly padded in the sparring area. The weapons on display over there are 100% authentic and I encourage use of them, should you find yourself near them and desire a weapon of opportunity. You should also know that like Illustra's danger room, this room can create illusions, holographs, and additional opponents, so don't get so wrapped up in fighting me that you forget to mind your surroundings. Mike..... as nicely toned as your chest is, and though I do thoroughly enjoy looking at it, I'd like you to put on your suit now.... so that we can get a base idea of it in use."

Aerie- Delilah's house

:: Alison was glad to know Delilah was feeling better.::

i spent a LONG time on my own delilah, stalking the world's darkest, scariest places..as a TEENAGER. those experiences helped define me. I learned at a very early age how to be cold. Kelly forced my hand at an EARLY age. [the stories of Alison, as early as age 10 fronting off her mother to protect her baby sister and brother from the abuse] it was only after i met Morgan, Karen, yourself and then the events that lead to the six that my way of being was forced into a change. it's still hard for me to backtrack. usually when i lash out at someone...its deserved. That's one of the reasons Morgan and I always got along so well. we both had parents that paved the way to become overtly hostile.

change hasnt been easy and like Morgan, i struggle with the idea of seeming "soft"..after all this time with the six.

but i dont want to "maintain my reputation" at the expense of my friends...friends like you.

:: Delilah mentioned that its not important...::

it is. especially with Morgan and myself. Ava was right...we're like sisters....and as the sayings go.. sisters will fight. Karen has been a mother to both of us as well as Morgan...but you had the most NORMAL family life out of the three of us. it makes you different on a fundamental level and that difference has often served to balance the methods or morgan and myself. its just that when Bishop came along...things changed.

we all make mistakes...sometimes terrible ones...and as a precog, KNOWING someone is going to make a mistake, the hardest thing is not only trying to warn them but either watching them do it anyway, or knowing that it might be one of those times that i can't attempt to prevent it.

I'll never forget how you came to Morgan following the Inferno. you and her mother were there when even I could not be...at a time when many people were looking for her HEAD. it's an example that we should all remember...so yes...it is important.

:: as Delilah asked what was wrong with Morgan and Karen, Alison paused for a moment and looke out of a window.::

Morgan is very unhappy. she feels lost and without a purpose now that she no longer has the world of fashion to be apart of. Karen , is on an island with women young enough to be her daughters and being courted by a young man. she's still uncertain...on the deepest level, given what Christopher has done. she's making a valiant. This situation with Haleigh is taking a toll as well.
