So I want to know when the trend of Vamp movies & TV shows is going to fall back so that WITCHES can get sometime in the spotlight again?


There's huge vacuum for witches on TV & in movies in a post Charmed, Willow (Buffy) world. Rose Mcgowan plays a sorceress in the Conan remake but I havent heard how powerfull the character is. The last powerfull witch I can remember seeing on the big screen was Michele Pfiefer's witch in 'Stardust' ...that was such a kick ass movie btw.

On TV, ppl tell me that witches have been fighting the vamps on Vampire Diaries ( i think that's the show) but I dont know anything about the show as i don't watch it or True Blood. The "Eastwick" TV show didnt take off like i hoped it would...& "The witches of Eastwick" was classic on the bigscreen.
 
I saw Conan...and honestly, I had no idea Rose McGowen was the sorceress until the camera got really close to her face and I was like, oh shit! That's Rose McGowen! LOL. She wasn't powerful in the movie, but she was ruthless.

True Blood's entire season this year is about witches, and she's a pretty bad ass witch. I think you would like her. As for Vampire Diaries, there is definitely witch craft too, however it started becoming much more prominent this past season.

And Vil, I haven't heard of The Secret Circle but I just watched a preview and it looks awesome! And I like how the guy who plays Elijah on VD is on it. :) Here's a preview Farrah. It looks like something you would like!

I expect witches to bumrush us in no time. I personally think that they were waiting for the CGI to improve enough to do good TV stuff cheaply enough to have a show.
 
I think witches have slowly been working their way back. Bonnie from Vampire Diaries was the first bad ass witch I'd seen since Buffy and Charmed got cancelled. As for the Secret Circle... I loved it, but I got really busy and now I'm behind. I gotta find a day where I'm not doing much, so I can find the episodes online and catch up. lol LJ Smith has created such a great universe for both these TV shows to spawn out of. Although until I catch up on Secret Circle... gotta say Bonnie from Vampire Diaries has my vote as the best. Strong, feisty, moral... I'd love to see them explore her darkside eventually like they did with Willow on Buffy.
 
I just hope witches don't end up like vampires cause fantasy/sci-fi fans can only handle so much sparkling
 
If you go to any bookstore, you'll find that there are tons of series about witches there. Vampires, yes; but there are witch series there too. :)

As for film, I don't know why there's barely any witch movies/shows out.
