So season 2 premiere was tonight:

Elena returns home and is horrified to learn what has happened to Jeremy and Uncle John. Bonnie, Matt, and Damon wait at the hospital with Sheriff Forbes, who is anxious to hear whether Caroline will survive the car accident. Elena and Damon share a confusing conversation about the evening's events, and Damon realizes that Katherine has returned. He and Stefan set out to learn why Katherine came back and whether she poses a threat to Mystic Falls. Tyler's uncle, Mason, arrives to console his family members, who are still grieving after the mayor's death.

So pretty good season opener. GAME ON Katherine lol

Poor poor Damon. But I think he saw the ring on Jeremy's finger.

PS Me-OW Mason.

I agree Vil, great season opener! I'm really loving that Katherine is going to be a major part of this season, it's going to really spice everything up.

However i'm getting sick of the whole "Stefan's the only one I'll ever and have ever loved" crap from both Elena and Katherine. Ugh....at least give Damon ONE of them lol. Poor Damon. :(

And YEAH, Mason is freakin hooooot.

Okay, let's talk about last week's. a) I can't believe they're keeping stupid wolf girl around when they killed off Mason AND Rose AND Lexi and b) is Uncle John a vamp now or what?!

I know!! I can't stand that wolf girl. And I really really loved Rose. I think she brought in a great dynamic, especially with Damon. It was so heartbreaking during Rose's dream sequence right before Damon killed her. :(

I don't think Uncle John's a vampire now...but he bugs the hell out of me too. They always seem to get rid of the characters I really enjoy and keep the ones that annoy me. lol I'm just waiting for the day they kill of Caroline, because ever since she became a vampire i've loved her.

I think I just blocked out some major part of an episode, because I totally was thinking Katherine killed him lol

Katherine cut off his fingers to get the ring off him, then I think she stabbed him. But he survived.

Slight spoilers in these articles - more teasers really. Interviews with Andie, Uncle John & Damon. Enjoy.

The Vampire Diaries' Dawn Olivieri: Andie Starr Won't Play the Victim

by Robyn Ross

What's it like being the girlfriend of a vampire? Vampire Diaries' actress Dawn Oliveri compares it to harboring a criminal.

After laying eyes on the sexy reporter, Damon compelled Andie (Olivieri) to become his girlfriend and forget everything he ever tells her. In Thursday's episode, Andie will unknowingly help Damon attempt to kill Elijah. Will she ever realize that's she under Damon's spell? And also, that she's being nibbled on nightly? Olivieri says there are moments where Andie will struggle to come out of her comatose state and eventually she'll try to get to the bottom of what's really going down in Mystic Falls. TVGuide.com spoke to the actress about Andie's fate and how long she expects to stick around on the CW series.

This week's episode focuses on Damon's dinner party and a plot to take down Elijah. How is Andie involved?

Dawn Olivieri: More than involved, she takes the [role] of facilitator. She becomes the hostess of the party, but is hypnotized. Unknowingly, she's facilitating this crazy night. It's like harboring a criminal, but you have no idea you're doing it.

Will Andie be disposable to Damon when he's done using her?

Olivieri: Damon thinks that he's just using her, but Andie is smarter than the girls you've seen him fall [for]. Andie is a worthy opponent not in physicality, but in the mind. What's going to be interesting is when Andie comes to from her comatose state. She's a news reporter so she's not going to be a victim of a crime and let things happen. The unfortunate thing for Andie is she's going to want to get to the bottom of it.

Will that be her demise?

Olivieri: It can go one of two ways. It could lead to her demise or it could do the opposite, which would be the fantastic turn that no one expects because every girl that comes on here just gets killed.

How do we know when Andie is under compulsion or having true emotion?

Olivieri: At the very beginning of the bathtub scene, that was her. Pretty much everything after that she's been compelled [to do], but I don't like it to be just flat-out compulsion. But she has moments that I've sprinkled throughout. They're very subtle. There was one, for example, when I saw the bite and I took a moment in the mirror, almost like you see the reflection of a trapped person inside. It's moments like that, that I want to have for her so it's not just all her being hypnotized. I want that struggle to come through and for her to fight to come up for air. As the episodes go on I'm going to build on that, whether the writers will honor that choice, I don't know. This next episode will be fun because I intend to put more pressure on that struggle.

Are you done filming?

Olivieri: I'm going back next week. From the beginning, it's been for an "undisclosed" amount of episodes so it's my feeling I'll make it to the end. There's so much more to do with her.

If you stay, would you want to remain human or turn into a vampire?

Olivieri: Who wants to be human? I would love to be turned.

Interview with Mr. Sark lol:

Vampire Diaries' David Anders: Trust Uncle John

by Robyn Ross

"Why does everything John touches fall apart?" Elena asks in an upcoming episode of The Vampire Diaries.

We still don't know who John Gilbert (David Anders) works for or why he's really back in Mystic Falls, but Anders swears to TVGuide.com that his intentions for his biological daughter, Elena (Nina Dobrev), are good. But, he warns, "Nothing ever goes well by this guy. He likes to try to convey that sh--'s under control, but it never is, it seems."

Still, he's more a jerk than a sad-sack. Why tell Aunt Jenna (Sara Canning) that he is Elena's biological father and that Isobel, Alaric's "dead" wife, is her mother? "There is a reason I've said this to her, to stir up stuff between her and Alaric, in order to get something back from Alaric that is rightfully his," he says. Hmm, maybe it's that ring that protects him? "That will all come to light for a period of five episodes or so. It's a slow burn," he says.

OK, so if John wants to cause trouble with Alaric and he still has ties to Isobel and Katherine, why should Elena trust him? "There's a great scene between me and [Elena]; it will paint the direction that we're headed as far as our relationship is concerned," he says. "I've always described it as Darth Vader-Luke Skywalker-like, [but] I think that's going by the wayside now."

Vampire Diaries' Michaela McManus: Brady's arrival brings destruction — and answers

Will daddy and daughter make up? Anders teases that Elena's familial web will only get more tangled in the coming weeks. "There might be a surprise visit from Isobel," he says.

Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder: Andie Is Damon's "Hot Beard"

Feb 9, 2011 10:01 PM ET
by Robyn Ross

One word of advice for Vampire Diaries viewers feeling sorry that Damon lost Rose: Don't.

Ian Somerhalder says Damon never actually felt for her. "Not to burst anyone's bubble, it's not that Damon actually gave a sh-- about Rose, it's really what it evoked in him and made him realize what is really important to him," Somerhalder tells TVGuide.com.

In "The Descent," Rose, played by Lauren Cohan, finally succumbed to her werewolf bite. The usually sarcastic yet charmingly jerky Damon stood by her side and even shed a tear as he let her go. It didn't take long for Damon to find his next leading lady, Andie Starr (Dawn Olivieri), whom Somerhalder likes to call his "hot beard."

"Damon is this eligible bachelor in this town, and if he never has a girlfriend, people will start talking," the actor says. "It's kind of comical, but also sad that he ... can channel that energy that he has for Elena into someone else who doesn't even know what's going on. Project it right onto them."

As we saw in last week's episode, Damon not only uses Andie for pleasure, but to get his emotionally conflicted feelings off his chest before compelling her to forget what he says. "It's like the people who can't express their feelings unless they're drinking; it's sad," Somerhalder says. "It's not something I would recommend, but it is one way to live."

Although Somerhalder doesn't believe that Damon will continue down his heartbreakingly vulnerable path too long, he does reveal it will become problematic.

"He's just struggling with this feeling thing and the whole thing is just foreign to him," he says.

Whether it's Rose or "Miss Sexy Reporter Girl" with whom Damon is spending time, it always comes back to the very specific feelings he has for both Elena and her mean vampire doppelganger Katherine.

"There are two women that look identical and you're in love with both of them," he says. "That is the ultimate Damon challenge — that's his journey.

Vampire Diaries' Final Full Moon — and 6 Other Spoilers

Feb 2, 2011 11:00 PM ET
by Natalie Abrams

As Vampire Diaries dives into the second half of Season 2, the impending vampire-werewolf conflict will culminate in the season's final full moon — which executive producer Julie Plec says will be filled with "bad, bad things." That's not the only trouble Mystic Falls will see. Get the scoop from the cast below:

The Vampire-Werewolf War: The conflict between the vampires and werewolves "is going from a simmer to a boil," Plec says. In the center of it all: star-crossed maybe-lovers werewolf Tyler (Michael Trevino) and vampire Caroline (Candice Accola). "The next few episodes take us down the road of what Tyler knows, what he learns and how it impacts his friendships with Caroline and Matt [Zach Roerig]," Plec says. Adds Paul Wesley: "There are unforeseen alliances."

Flashback Blood Fever: The series will flash back once again to when Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan were turned into vampires. "Stefan is very Damon-esque," Wesley says. "He's lost and he doesn't know what to do with himself. He's living in guilt, so he is just sinful and lustful. We get some blood addiction. We're going back to his days of heavy usage."

Uncle John's Return: To save Elena (Nina Dobrev) from original vampire Klaus, Stefan has sought out her dad (David Anders). "He has some information that we need to extract from him but we also don't know if we can trust him," Wesley says."We go back to her roots and we start to uncover some things." Adds Dobrev: "Her father comes home and is in cahoots with everyone. She doesn't care about him, so it's almost annoying." In addition, Uncle John will challenge the "system [Jenna] has built and how hard she's worked to really build a home for" Elena and Jeremy, Sara Canning says.

Katherine's Still a Threat: Even though Katherine has been locked in the tomb, Dobrev says, "She's plotting her way out. She's a woman who likes to be in control and when she's not, she's not happy and that's not a good thing right now."

Bonnie's Witchy Friends: The new witches in town were revealed to be working with original vampire Elijah (Daniel Gillies). So are they good or evil? "We learn a lot more over the next few episodes about why they're with Elijah, what it is they want, what's driving them, what side they stand on and where they stand with each other as father and son," Plec says. "Their relationship gets really complicated and it really complicates Bonnie's life specifically as she learns more and more about them."

Elena's Fate: With Elena prepared to sacrifice herself — spoiler alert: she does die in the book series — will Elena survive through this season? "As long as there is still a human life left for Elena to live, taking that away from might seem premature," Plec says. "It's an option for the series because it's a very important part of the books. The big questions are: When do we go down that road? When is it too soon? When is it the right time? I don't know actually if we have the answer to that, so it's something we talk about all the time."

The Final Full Moon: Last season's arc drove towards the Founders' Day celebration. "This year, our signposts have been marked by the full moons and I know that we have one more full moon that will be upon us before we hit the end of the season," Plec says. "Bad, bad things are going to happen as a result of that full moon. We also have this impending ritual — the sacrifice that will break the curse of the sun and the moon. That's where we'll end our season."

Vampire Diaries airs Thursday at 8/7c on the CW.

‘THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’: WILL JENNA LEARN THE TRUTH?

Last night’s episode of The Vampire Diaries was certainly a tough one for Aunt Jenna (Sara Canning). Not only did she find herself distrusting her beau Alaric, but then he went and all but confirmed his streak of dishonesty regarding Isobel. And as it turns out, it’s only going to get worse for Elena’s still-clueless guardian.

“We’ll see her deal with it in her Jenna-like way. She’ll deal with some crazy stuff in next week’s episode, too, actually. Something that will shake her up even worse,” Canning teases.

Um, what could be worse than that? If I had to guess, it might have something to do with Jenna being out of the loop on a certain important matter. Of course, Canning doesn’t say exactly what that was, but I think we know.

“I don’t think it will be just speculation on her part. I think we’re going to see some stuff happen that are pretty smack you in the face proof,” she says. “I’m not going to say particularly that she’s been worried about, but she’s going to have some stuff happen to her that has no other explanation and there will be no way people will talk their way out of it.”

I’d personally like to see her get a glimpse of Elena and Katherine side-by-side or see a vampire die or transform. That’d be freaking awesome. Guesses? Hopes?

I love vampire diaries so much. I'm a total delena fan, and i love damon because i just so happen to totally be into that mysterious dark haired bad boy type of guy lol

This season has been really great and never have I once gotten bored with a story line or bored with what is happening.

I agree Heidi! I loved the first season, but this season has been absolutely amazing. They have seriously upped their game. And i'm a total Delena fan too. :) I also like Stefan and Caroline together. I think they're dynamic as old vampire/new vampire is so cute. They have great chemistry together imo. :)
