Do you watch alot of TV? is Cable , Satellite etc a NECESSITY for you? Or are you one of those who could care less?

Me personally, for many years I definately devoted time to watching TV. there were alot of programs I couldnt miss, of course this was in part due to their being no options like internet or tv shows on DVD collections. when i was growing up, having Cable was a luxury and a status symbol (along with having a microwave, a vcr and COLOR tv) . if you had it, you were suddenly the popular one in the neighborhood lol!

These days, the only show i make it a point to keep up with is "The Bold and the Beautiful" and i can watch that online. I got rid of cable at the end of 2009 and i don't miss it. I love having one LESS bill to pay.

I find that alot of stuff that's on these days just isnt that good. There's no real variety or creativity on network TV and anything i can watch on cable, i can find online.

So i was just wondering what your tv habits are and how you feel about having cable etc.

I find i watch TV mostly for background noise now lol, if it is a show i actually like i watch online, download or rarely try to watch when it comes on. Actually i only watch a few shows and really only bother with cable when I'm at home or there's a special on that i like. Really the only reason to have cable is to kill time lol

I watch a lot of tv I guess, but I tivo most everything and rarely watch stuff when it's actually on unless it's for background noise as BK said. I'd die without cable though lol

I don't think shows are as good as they used to be either, but I think that's because now they have to produce so much more programming that the quality went down on a lot of it.

Like Vil, there's not alot of decent shows on now like there used to be, so I don't watch alot television. Although I do watch a lot shows that have re-runs on or even some that are still going on, I don't watch TV very much and I might just watch it if I'm bored at home with nothing else to do. But Friday night is the night that I watch alot of TV, because Smallville, Supernatural, and other good shows air new episodes then. Also, I have Cable and I can't give it up lol!

Netflix is amazing, IMO. I only recently started using Hulu because we got rid of our tv this summer.

I watch a LOT of TV, but like Vil I DVR a lot of my shows. I honestly wouldn't survive without cable lol. I can watch everything online, but it's just not the same as watching it on an actual television.
