I'll tell you in another lifetime when we are both
So I watched Thor: The Dark World.

Watched it alone, by myself in the cinema, the way I like it. No son, no idiot friends who don't get why I'm geeking out or girlfriend who I'm trying to feel up in the dark. Nope, just me getting my geek on and enjoying this shit on the many levels that I and only I can enjoy it.

And wow I lost count on how many levels I enjoyed it.

Now the thing I love about Thor and Asgard is that depending on the artist you either get a technological marvel or a magical one. Thor: Lord of Asgard (and Earth) was more technological IMO. JMS' Thor, before Siege, magical. This film, however, manages to find a perfect blend between the two and in doing so delivers a far more satisifying sci-fi experience than arguably Star Trek (remake) and a plethora of recent sci-fi films, while not losing that Middle Earth feel.

I don't want to say too much a spoil it for those that haven't seen it yet but the easter eggs (rock villain at the beginning, two easter eggs and the significance of those characters) were not lost on me. Also the teaser at the end, for all you Marvel Universe fans, should stand in awe as how one 30sec teaser can expand a fictional Universe to the nth degree. I literally was like "Oh my god, I can't believe they're doing it..."

The charactisation was tight as well, but if there is a third it really needs to focus on the Warriors Three and Thor's support cast. Sif needs more screen time and certainly needs a cat fight with Jane Foster, in fact this film needed it and the film does miss a scene there. I was hoping for a full on, "Skank, Bitch" hair pull-scratchy-boob slap fight. But we got nothing.

The villain was one of Asgard's more significant villains but not well known unless you collect the series, though he was the feature of a recent Thor story arc.

But the bottom line, I loved this film, everything in it, everything it represented and everything it stood for. It was also so much better than Iron Man 3, which IMO has become a parody of itself - and IMO, does nothing to progress the Marvel film Universe.

Guardians of the Galaxy next, and this film really does create a platform for it.

just finished watching this movie and enjoyed it a great deal it was a fun self-contained adventure but did a good job expanding the universe

Hoping Captain America: The Winter Soldier does a good job too
