Your honor, the the forensic account records, along with the laundry list of allegations that are substantiated by the documented reports of sexual harrassment, along with the photographic evidence of his misconduct would suggest otherwise.

And I object to the noticeable bias in favor, along with your inflamatory statements against my clienet without reviewing the full scope of evidence presented to this hearing!

<< But "Judge" Kimberly Shaw continued, and Rose grew more and more agitated, her hair began to flow once more and the signs were there for those watching.>>

<< Shaw continued, dismissing any and all of the IRON CLAD evidence that tied Nedry to the disappearence of over a dozen children, as well as his personal conduct AND the evidence of his ethics being compromised by outside sources, with a money trail to prove it.>>

<< Alycia was STUNNED by this GROSS misconduct on the part of this judge.>>

It is DUE DILLIGENCE. And from the information I've received, from what has been PROPERLY filed and documented, not...DUMPED on the table carelessly, as you did just now..it appears that your client is quite clearly suffering in some kind of way. At the very least, I cannot allow her to leave this facility without the reccommendation that she be placed on a 5150 hold so that we might BETTER be able to monitor her behavior and ensure that she is NO danger to herself or those that she has been entrusted by the courts to take care of. Her children will be placed under the care of Nedry and Child Protective Services."

OBJECTION.

Your honor, for you to suggest holding my client on such grounds is outrageous. You do not have the credentials NOR the evidence to make such a sweeping move against my client!

The REAL danger in this courtroom today is THAT man, and you have balatantly REFUSED to review evidence that was properly vetted and submitted to this court in the interest of insuring a fair, ETHICAL hearing.

I request an IMMEDIATE continuance, on the grounds that that this public servant << gestures at Nedry>> and this COURT! << directly calling out the judge>> are clearly INCAPACITATED.

Further more, the U.S. Supreme Court case law and the State of New York's canons of judicial ethics, clearly states that a judge must bow out of hearing any case in which his or her impartiality might reasonably be questioned. The New York Canons of Judicial Conduct says that judges must avoid all impropriety and appearance of impropriety.

For the record, I am asserting this, along with New York Legal code 283, in the name of preserving ETHICAL DUTY, I make move for your immediate recusal, Judge Shaw!

< Talisman motioned for a bailiff to head over towards Isis who was still holding Jake, as if he was preparing to TAKE the child from Dominique's arms. >

:: But this "judge" seemed to take more perverse delight in the chaos she was causing than in seeing the LAW run it's due course. She banged her gavel, and the baliffs began to close in on Dominique and Jake. Jake clings to Dominique, screaming for her not to let them take him::

<< she SCREAMED with PAIN as she shook her head....and black tears began to fall from her eyes once more. Rae would perceive the image of CHAINS...BEING BROKEN!>>

<< a WHITE soul satellite FLARED into view, and flew to the center of the room, and began to cast its spectral light in a broad beam, and circular pattern, like a light louse. As the light cast over the JUDGE, she felt the same POWER that Cobra and Scion before her had felt. BLEW THROUGH whatever defenses she had, and saw through to her SOUL.>>

Rose SCREAMS and falls from the air to the ground, clutching her head in pain>>

"Kimberly Shaw:" Is MORE than a match for YOU, FORMER Black Queen!

<< The baliffs now closing in on the rest of the team, starting with Alycia, who has gone to Rose's aid.>>

<< The baliffs, the court clerk, the judge, EVERYONE is in on this! Rose was RIGHT, this was ALL a lie! But would they LIVE long enough to do anything about it? They charge at Steel, Oracle, Recall and Tachyon, some with projectile weapons, others with melee weapons. >>

<< Oracle and the others had seconds to process what they'd seen, and ACT...lives were in danger, THEIRS!>>

< She sat there, admiring her manicure as Alycia continued to speak. Her knowledge of the law was impressive. Talisman wasn't trying to earn her juris doctorate here, and besides she already had PHDs in Biology and Philosophy of Sicence. She had come here to ruffle some feathers, get an up close and personal look at Rose's power signature, and remind The Birds of Prey that she would continue to vex them if they continued to impede her agenda. Things were about to get interesting. >

Alycia: "Let it be known HERE AND NOW, that this action has been taken against my client and her child WITHOUT DUE PROCESS!"

< Smirking, her cobalt blue eyes smuldered at Alycia as she signaled for the bailiff's to make their way towards Isis and Jake. >

"You have no such authority in THIS courtroom, Barnett! In fact, I thi--"

"Fuck!"

< The purple haired monster began to rear her ugly head. She knew that Rose was in a fragile state, but she had made the assumption that a woman who held as much power as Rose would be a little more put together. Making that assumption was her mistake. She was THROTTLED with INCREDIBLE pain. She grabbed her head for a moment as she FOUGHT against the pain, her mystical and magickal alarms doing their best to counteract the brutal pain that she was feeling. >

"UGHHHHHH!"

Rose: "LIAR. FRAUD!"

< staggering and gritting through the pain. >

"I...prefer...DOCTOR!"

< The bailiff's caused Rose to split her focus as Kelly began to regain her composure. Experiencing the power of Rose was rather...thrilling to her, as well as telling. An arousing experience indeed. One Talisman would not soon forget. She had cautioned even Diana to be careful around Rose in the astral plane, but Talisman was confident that her "do-gooder" friends would do what they always did - get in the way and redirect Rose's fury onto themselves. She was also confident in The Sisterhood's ability to placate Rose if necessary. >

Rose: "THIS IS ALL A LIE!"

< Rose turned her fury towards Nedry as Talisman surveyed her FURTHER. She was putting all of his business out on the street, to which Kelly hardly batted an eyelash. She had long determined that most humans were disgusting creatures and one of base instinct. At least Nedry had a bit of ART in the way he consumed and destroyed everything around him. In fact, it reminded her of her own work in The Body Shoppe, her safe place, that allowed her to experiment FREELY and without MORALITY. >

< On cues the doors and exits slam shut as the bailiff's moved into place. Rose was taken down, but the white noise generator was thwarted by Alycia Barnett - an ironic move for a woman who exhaled more white noise in the last five minutes than Kelly had experienced in quite some time.

Baliffs: "OPEN FIRE!"

< And so it had begun. The court room became a bullet riddled battlefield as Talisman negated her illusion spell to reveal her true form as she began to make her way towards Isis - jumping over the top of the judge bench and landing on her feet. A split screen of two brilliant eyes making contact with each other for the first time can be seen. >

Isis: "I won't let you have this child."

"Why not? You've already helped me claim twenty four of them. Well twenty SIX if you figure the two [in a baby voice] wittle bodies I made sure wound up on that playground for you."

< Talisman edged even closer. >

"We meet at last. Allow me to introduce myself..."

< A crack of energy could be felt in the air as a whizzing technological sound could be heard buzzing in the area around her. At once, two swarms of nanites in an electric green aura began swirling around Talisman's hands like halos. It was impossible to determine the exact amount swirling but their clicking and clacking could be heard as she stood in a defensive stance. >

"Dr. Kelly Shaw - Black Queen of The Hellfire Club. You'll excuse me if I smell a bit off - the last tenant of my chambers wore a rather...perplexing and CHEAP scent. I'm still freshening things up."

< Smirking. >

"The boy himself..is not necessarily important."

< Glancing down at him. >

"Sorry, kid. But it was never your personality I was after."

< Her eyes went from Jake's in a menacing manner to Dominique's in a cold and apathetic stare that was nearly on the same level as Isis' own signature glances. Talisman was not here to go in for the kill. No, taking down Isis in any sense of the word cause quite a bit more finesse and planning. But still, she couldn't help but dig at the woman who found what Dr. Shaw did so pervasive and depraved. >

"However...call me petulant, but..I can't help but feel that if *I* can't have Jake, I definitely don't want YOU to."

< Talisman FLEXED her hands into fists as the nanites continued to SWARM around her hands in halos, this time becoming encased in her bright green energy signature as TWO high power mystic blasts catapulted in a CHAOTIC pattern in two separate beams, one headed towards Isis, and the other..heading straight for Jake. >

:: Vivica was on edge, frustrated and pissed as she sat through this hearing. Listening to it not going as planned. As she watched the mysterious judge, her brain went into overdrive as she began to access records she had in her memory banks of whatever knowledge she had on local court systems. Nothing was coming up. Either this woman was not who she seemed or she was so brand spanking new that it seemed she wouldn't have the closeness with Nedry that she was displaying. Something was rotten in the state of Denmark and Vivica was determined to get to the bottom of it. ::

It is DUE DILLIGENCE. And from the information I've received, from what has been PROPERLY filed and documented, not...DUMPED on the table carelessly, as you did just now..it appears that your client is quite clearly suffering in some kind of way. Vivica immediately shifted into the defensive, cautiously watching the movements of the SWARM of security officers flanking nearly ever exit. This amount of security was absurd! ::

:: The realization that Rose had just murdered a man in a New York City courtroom in broad daylight settled in quickly for her. Even if they survived this encounter, the implications of what Rose had just done could not be buried. The WORLD didn't know Nedry was who he was. They would only know a CPS worker suspicious of her ability to care for children was murdered in an emergency hearing regarding her frame of mind. ::

:: Vivica instinctively ducked and crept under neath the court seats, allowing her to see footsteps and the ability to trace their patterns of movements. Things were about to get REALLY fucking bad, and unlike the others, she wasn't a speedster, she didn't have her weapons on her and she was not capable of a sonic scream or a face of fear. She swallowed hard in her throat. ::

Baliffs: OPEN FIRE!

<< They begin to fire upon Charope high powered gun fire! But to THEIR surprise, Charope begins to defend herself and Rose, BLOCK/DEFLECTING the bullets with her feminum bracelets.>>

:: She took a deep breath as bailiff's began to swarm the area. Not missing a beat, Vivica smashed the foot of one of the guards and as he recoiled in pain she POPPED up with enhanced speed, jammed his gun, watching as the clip fell out with great speed, elbowed the guard in the face and used him as a human shield, before THROWING him into another guard, using their momentum to have them collide at the last possible second, allowing her to grab the gun of one of the guards as she began to systematically shoot at the bailiff's around her with deadly accuracy, her focus split between Dominique and Talisman. She was ready to intercept Jake if neccessary. ::

 

[Oracle]

The Courtroom

Alycia laid out the facts she had accumulated against Nedry - much more than even what Gabe had provided, which was impressive. Oracle's eyebrows raised as she even recommended that Zach be given temporary custody of Jake. Zizi's eyes went immediately to Rose, who surprisingly didn't protest or even look disturbed by this. Maybe everything would work out, after all. But the judge refused to even hear what Alycia was saying, and seemed very much on Nedry's side. Everything was corroborating what Vivica and Steel had felt: this was a set up.

The judge went so far as to order Rose detained, and to give custody of Jake to NEDRY. Zizi looked to Alycia, who was doing everything in her power, but the judge wasn't listening, and bailiffs were approaching Dominique, with the intent of taking him from her. The boy was crying and pleading, and tears came to Zizi's eyes at the sight of it.

[via com, to Gabe] "Cypher, if they take him, we need to have eyes on him at all times, do you understand?"

He couldn't be left in Nedry's "care" without him being watched to ensure Jake's safety. If they had to appeal this, it would take time, and they couldn't trust that they had it. They couldn't afford to lose his whereabouts again.

Meanwhile Rose was visibly and understandably upset. But then it became something more, her eyes crying black tears like she had before in the waiting room. Before she ATTACKED. A light manifested from Rose, casting upon those in the courtroom as Rose began yelling at the judge, and then pushing the bailiffs who tried to restrain her back. Then the light shone on Nedry, revealing to them the horrors he had perpetrated. Some of these Oracle had read about in his file, but there was so much more, so many horrible things. She felt a pain, like her inside being twisted. Rose was advancing towards Nedry now, rage emanating from her.

"Rose, NO!"

But it was too late, as Rose brutally KILLED Nedry, and then turned on the judge!

ORACLE, that JUDGE...

"Is not a judge."

Doors slammed shut all over the courtroom, and everyone outside of her allies were now brandishing weapons and advancing on them. Oracle grabbed her staff, now in its short form. She began firing stun bolts into the bailiffs nearest to them.

"Everyone, stick together. We need to get to Isis and help protect Jake!"

 

[Valkyrie]

The Courtroom

Ashley took a seat with the others, next to Zach. She took his hand, interlocking her fingers with his, and gave it a squeeze of support. She didn't give a fuck what happened to Rose - she needed to be in a nut house, at the very least, for all Ashley thought - but it was important to Zach, and that was enough for her to be there. That they all were just sitting there like Rose hadn't just tried to kill Zach AND her was annoying, but typical.

[via com] "We are definitely not in friendly territory here - everyone, be ready."

"We haven't been in friendly territory all day," she mumbled under her breath.

Dominique was on the OTHER side of the courtroom. She saw Alycia turn around and tell Oracle in front of her that Jake was with Dominique. The judge came in, and Nedry made a statement that made Ashley want to punch him in the face, and she didn't even give a shit about this whole thing. Hell, maybe if they took Jake away from Rose, Zach could finally see him. Alycia then got up and did what she did best: talking a bunch of shit. But then, she said something surprising.

I also have submitted an emergency petition to place Jake at a safe house, for the time being, until this case can be reassigned to a CFS worker that meets ethical standards, and can clear a state background check. That safe place is with Zachary Armani, your honor, who is present today.

Ashley let go of Zach's hand as he stood, and she could tell he was as shocked as he was. Alycia finally actually did something to help Zach see Jake. Which of course, would mean nothing at all if immediately afterward Rose went mental and killed him for it.

But this bitch of judge didn't seem to be going for any of what Alycia was saying. And while normally, Ashley would LOVE seeing that bitch taken down a peg, this time it affected Zach. Two minutes alone with the judge is all 'd need... She did almost stand up and cheer as the judge ordered Rose detained. Finally, someone saw her for the danger she was. But then she said that the children would be put under Nedry's care, that little turd. And then there were black tears, and yelling, and Ashley could have told them Rose was going to pop off, and then she did and KILLED Nedry.

"Well, that's the first sane thing she's ever done."

Just as she got the words out she felt someone hit her hard from behind. She turned and grabbed the two behind them by the arms that held their weapons and twisted sharply, breaking their arms. She turned back around. Rose was on the ground in pain. How do YOU like it, bitch? The courtroom was suddenly filled with enemies on all sides, closing in on their team. Her face morphed to her Valkyrie face. It had been too long since she'd a reasonable number of enemies to use her power on - not since the Purifiers. And humans were the easiest.

She pushed her power out to the bailiffs. The weakest would run, some would become paralyzed. They would be afraid to fire their weapons, that they might misfire or come back on them. They would feel like they couldn't possibly win.

 

[Steel]

The Courtroom

Steel took a seat next to Oracle. Having to sit there and listen to that little pipsqueak tell lies was excruciating. The whole thing was a farce, and it was clear early that no matter what Alycia did, she wasn't going to win. He flexed his hand, but Oracle put a steadying hand on his arm.

The judge rules that Rose was incompetent and should be detained, while the children would go into the custody of Nedry.

"Absolutely NOT."

John stood up in protest, but Rose was already out of her seat and using her powers, pushing bailiffs away from her and then showing them all what Nedry really was. But John had already known enough - the only remorse he felt when Rose killed Nedry was that SHE had had to do it. In the aftermath, it became painfully clear that everyone in the court room was in on the farce, and began attacking them.

Steel's body melted to a metallic color picking up the bailiff nearest to him and throwing him across the room. Other bailiffs began to fire upon Alycia.

"Alycia!"

She was able to deflect their bullets though as he rushed the gun-wielding bailiffs in front of the rest of them, using his body to shield Zizi and the others. Bullets bounced off his metallic skin as he reached for the guns of the two closest to him, squeezing the muzzles closed then ripping the guns from their hands and tossing them away. He began to cut a path towards Isis, punching some of the bailiffs, grabbing others by the throat and tossing them aside.

 

[Tachyon]

Xavier, unlike Alycia, had little faith in courts. He smelled a rat from the beginning and while the proceedings continued, he was already watching the exits, the personnel, and their preparedness.

Alycia was a vision in her element. He focused on her words and presentation. It enraged him that Nedry focused on her body. Jealousy was not the word, though he did hope that she would continue...whatever they had begun. No, this was a perpetuation of a power dynamic that was old and pervasive. He noted Vivica's discomfort and saw she was noticing what he was. He tapped a message on her leg on Morse code.

I have the package. Cover me.

After the judicial farce was answered by Alycia and then rebutted, Rose lost control, killing Nedry after exposing the fullness of his evil. The sight hardened Xavier's heart and he stood as Vivica did.

As the scene deteriorated, it slowed to a crawl for him. Checking quickly on his teammates, he saw they were fine, so he grabbed an empty pew and threw it as he saw the finally revealed Black Queen start to ignite her spell.

< Talisman FLEXED her hands into fists as the nanites continued to SWARM around her hands in halos, this time becoming encased in her bright green energy signature as TWO high power mystic blasts catapulted in a CHAOTIC pattern in two separate beams, one headed towards Jake!

Flying in at supersonic speeds, the pew was vaporized by the pair of blasts as the speedster lifted a second pew, throwing it at the source of the blasts herself!

 

[Cypher]

Gabe relayed that whatever happened from there on out, whether it be in the witness room, court room, or the damn parking lot, NO ONE from Hellfire would have incriminating video footage to use against the Birds.

Zizi: [via com, to Cypher]: "I love you."

Gabe smiled.

[com link to Oracle] "I love you too--stop distracting me."

He said with a small laugh, the mood lightened for at least a moment. But it was back to business as Cypher continued to watch everyone make their way into the court room. Dominique was sitting with Jake on one side of the courtroom while everyone sat on the other. Rose seemed calm enough and Alycia was already in lawyer mode. Then the judge walked in and Nedry started his opening arguments. Gabe looked a mixture of confused and disgusted when the judge seemed to be OKAY with what Nedry was saying, but even WORSE was when Alycia made her argument the judge basically disregarded and dismissed everything that was presented.

"What the fuck....No, this is wrong."

Gabe did a facial recognition scan on Judge Kimberly Shaw, the computer freeze framing her face and pulling it off to the side of the monitor while the live feed continued to play. The database began to cipher through all government personal throughout the state of New York and nothing came up for a Judge Kimberly Shaw. Gabe even went as far as to run it nationally, and still nothing. Whoever this Kimberly Shaw was, she wasn't a judge, and she most definitely HAD to have been working for Hellfire.

But before Gabe could relay the message to the Birds, he watched as Rose began to unravel. His eyes widened as she began to cry black tears while screaming at the judge and Nedry. Then she attacked.

"FUCK!"

He watched in horror as Rose basically electrocuted Nedry's head until he fell to the floor dead. Mouth agape, the entire fucking courthouse went ape shit. Judge Kimberly Shaw revealed herself to be the Black Queen, and at that moment everyone began to attack the Birds.

Zizi: [via com, to Gabe] "Cypher, if they take him, we need to have eyes on him at all times, do you understand?"

[com link to Oracle] "Yeah, yeah I got him! Liz be careful!"

Gabe watched as she used her staff to send stun bolts at whatever court officials were attacking, but he was immediately concerned with her safety considering the circumstances. His brows furrowed and his heart raced as he watched the scene continue to unfold and everyone fighting for their lives.

 

[Orion]

The Courthouse

On his way to court, Zach grabbed his jacket from the chair that Jake had been sitting in and pulled it on before taking Ashley's hand. She'd said she was 'fine', but he could tell she was still recovering from whatever Rose had done to her. The thought was acrid, a frustration made worse by the fury Zach had taken from John. He did his best to hide his scowl as they all filed in to the court room and sat on Rose's side.

As soon as he got his bearings, Zach knew this room felt all wrong. There was too much antipathy in here, and condescension was everywhere. The judge came in, smug and sordid. She even greeted Nedry politely, and that was a giant red flag. Isis sat across the aisle, with Jake in her lap. Nedry began his opening statement, as Zach focused his efforts on keeping Jake as calm and devoid of anxiety as possible. Zach was already making his decisions, planning how he was going to get Jake out of this courtroom and to safety. He had a feeling that this hearing would not go their way. He leaned over to whisper in Ashley's ear.

"I'm going to need your help."

Alycia: Zachary Armani, your honor, who is present today.

Zach was utterly shocked to hear his own name. He had heard Alycia talking, but since he was immersed in plotting an escape, he hadn't fully registered what she'd been saying. He looked up to see she was gesturing to him, and he slowly rose to his feet.

Alycia: Mr. Armani meets and EXCEEDS the New York Child Family Services requirements, and presents with EXCELLENT credentials, as a United Nations Ambassador, and he is uniquely qualified to care for a child with Jake's special needs.

Zach's gaze snapped over to Rose, who was sitting with her back to him. He couldn't see her expression, but then he didn't need to. She was reluctant, but calm. She made no effort to object to Alycia's suggestion, a complete surprise considering the fact that she had very nearly killed Zach a few minutes ago for merely sitting next to Jake. Alycia went on as if everything was going according to plan.

Alycia: Placing Jake in the temporary care and custody of Zachary Armani, a well respected citizen with strong ties to this community, as well as a clearly documented history with Jake O'Brien is in the child's best interest, while this court, and the external ethics panel reviews Mr. Nedry's conduct.

That was undeniably true, but the judge wasn't going for it. Alycia objected, and argued her case, but she was getting dismissed outright by the judge, who was clearly biased. As expected, she ruled against them, awarding all of Rose's children, including Jake, to Nedry. The bailiffs had apparently been prepared for this, as they were already closing in to rip Jake away from Isis.

Jake: ROSE! Don't let them take me! PLEASE! You and Zach PROMISED ME!!!

There was a flare of despair from Rose, and then she snapped, and Nedry got exactly what he had coming. Rose's attack commanded the attention of everyone in the courtroom. For a few moments, they all froze and watched it happen, like a train coming off the rails and exploding. The next thing Zach experienced was a sharp pain in the back of the head that sent him lurching forward.

Ashley turned and addressed their attackers, and the sound of breaking bones could be heard. Zach turned back as well, with a spinning roundhouse kick hardened by fury, that was powerful enough to send one guy flying sideways into the other, knocking them both down like bowling pins. Ashley faced the front again and Zach felt fear ripple through the guards like a wave. Zach reached for her shoulder and gave her a power boost of rage.

As she worked her magic on a large group of bailiffs in front of them, Zach, back to back with Ash, fought off those who tried to flank and attack them from behind. Some idiot came rushing in, a police baton in hand, raised high overhead in preparation for a downward strike. Zach pushed the bench behind them right into the attacker's path and burst towards guy, catching him mid-swing with a high block and delivering an elbow strike to the chin that knocked the man off his feet. Zach stripped the bailiff of his weapon and after meeting and defeating a couple more guards using a few well placed strikes with the baton, Zach tossed a glance back at Ashley.

"Ash, we gotta move, and get Jake outta here."

He said, and began to work his way towards where Isis and Jake were.

 

[Valkyrie]

The Courthouse

Ashley was watching the trial or whatever it was, when Zach leaned over and whispered to her.

"I'm going to need your help."

She turned her head and looked at him, serious.

"Whatever you need."

Alycia was then suggesting Zach for Jake's guardian, which the judge denied, ordering Rose be taken into custody. Then all hell broke loose, as Rose killed Nedry and the entire courtroom seemed to start attacking them. Both she and Zach were hit from behind, and then turned and took out their attackers. As she used her power of intimidation, she felt Zach's hand on her shoulder and her power ratchet up. Tag team FTW.

They began to fight the bailiffs back to back.

"Ash, we gotta move, and get Jake outta here."

Ashley nodded, grabbing a club from one of their attackers and summarily crushing his skull with it.

"You grab him, I'll block for you on the way out."

She reached out in front of her and grabbed a bailiff by the neck, creating an energy field with her power, giving him a heart attack as she dropped him to the side. Getting to Isis? Easy peasy.

 

[Isis]

Family Court Room

"Why not? You've already helped me claim twenty four of them. Well twenty SIX if you figure the two [in a baby voice] wittle bodies I made sure wound up on that playground for you."

< Talisman edged even closer. >

is this woman insane? talking in riddles... but the part about the children...on "THAT PLAYGROUND!?"

:: Isis narrows her aqua blue eyes as she looks grimly upon the woman. The sorceress stands tall, with Jake now behind her, as golden halos of magick form around her hands::

:: She caught sight of Recall making her way over. She could push Jake away, into Recall's arms...::

"We meet at last. Allow me to introduce myself..."

< A crack of energy could be felt in the air as a whizzing technological sound could be heard buzzing in the area around her. At once, two swarms of nanites in an electric green aura began swirling around Talisman's hands like halos. It was impossible to determine the exact amount swirling but their clicking and clacking could be heard as she stood in a defensive stance. >

"Dr. Kelly Shaw - Black Queen of The Hellfire Club.

She doesn't know that I've ALREADY been observing her...

:: She narrowed her aqua blue eyes. To see her successor in the role of the Black Queen, for the first time, IN PERSON, was definitely "a moment." But NOT for the reasons Talisman, in her grandiose opinion of herself, would think. ::

The Hellfire Club has relaxed it's standards for membership, apparently?

You'll excuse me if I smell a bit off - the last tenant of my chambers wore a rather...perplexing and CHEAP scent. I'm still freshening things up."

< Her eyes went from Jake's in a menacing manner to Dominique's in a cold and apathetic stare that was nearly on the same level as Isis' own signature glances. Talisman was not here to go in for the kill. No, taking down Isis in any sense of the word cause quite a bit more finesse and planning. But still, she couldn't help but dig at the woman who found what Dr. Shaw did so pervasive and depraved. >

"However...call me petulant, but..I can't help but feel that if *I* can't have Jake, I definitely don't want YOU to."

:: Isis lifts one of her hands, now encircled with golden halos of magick. The other one is now on Jake::

....I can weave a pattern of power sufficient to fracture and REDIRECT this attack!

:: she QUICKLY strikes a "pose" as she weaves a pattern of mystical power that charges forward and begins to "corkscrew" around the green hued beam like a golden ribbon, before TWISTING IT off it's original course, and turning it BACK toward Talisman, forcing her to dodge her own attack. The beam crashes into the wall::

:: Isis replied with a smirk of her own, for not only did she turn her foe's attack back on her, AIMED it "Just so", and while Talisman dodged, she was now in the oncoming path of the bench Tachyon had hurled her way!::

He said, and began to work his way towards where Isis and Jake were.

<< It wasn't going to be that easy for Orion, OR Valkyrie, as they were both intercepted and attacked by the court clerk and another baliff, BOTH of whom were master martial artists, and moving with GREAT speed and skill. The court clerk was armed with an energy baton, and was UNDAUNTED by Valkyrie's visage, as she attacked the woman, striking her across the face with the energy baton, which BURNED on contact, and knocking her to the ground. The clerk was about to deliver a vicious high heeled stomp to Valkyrie's face, while Orion was knocked OVER a bench by a well placed karate AIR kick that landed square on chest.>>

:: Alycia had CRUSHED the white noise genetator, and was now blocking/deflecting a volley of gun fire from several baliffs with her feminium bracelets. ::

:: She called out as she continued, but the omega level psi did not move or respond. If Charope faltered, or let up her defense even for a MOMENT, she OR Rose cold get hit!::

"Alycia!"

She was able to deflect their bullets though as he rushed the gun-wielding bailiffs in front of the rest of them, using his body to shield Zizi and the others. UGH!!!!....

:: there was almost NO time left!::

:: she rolled to the left, narrowly avoiding the first blow, and thanks to Oracle's stun beams, several MORE were knocked off their feet! ::

:: she telepathically summons the fragment of DOME that she carries with her, commanding it to take the shape of a shimmering staff weapon and then, with her amazonian reflexes and skill, she QUICKLY goes from defensive to OFFENSIVE, turning the tables on her would be attackers.::

[ Silver Swan wasted no time, taking an approach similar to Steel. She hefted a man over her head, and charged forward, throwing him INTO three more of his cohorts, who were firing upon her, but as she was well nigh invulnerable, their fire was of no use against her]

[ thrusting out her hands, several high velocity spinning stars fly forward, and SLICE the weapons of gun men busting in and coming for Oracle, rending them useless. ]

"Everyone, stick together. We need to get to Isis and help protect Jake!"

[ Isis and Talisman were engaged in a firefight, while Valkyrie and Orion were being assaulted by another group that was blocking for Talisman.]

Silver Swan: Recall's got Jake, and Tachyon's got them out of the way. We CAN'T let Talisman get away! We OWE her PAY BACK for what she did to Shadow Weaver!

 

[Tachyon]

And a strike! The pew smashed into the new, less gorgeous and accomplished Black Queen. The real Black Queen (who is even Black!) sausages up for another go as Xavier noticed that people were definitely tied up. He dashed over to Recall, who now had Jake.

Recall, take him and run out the door. NO ONE WILL TOUCH YOU. Trust me.

Xavier began to clear a path to the door. The bailiffs at the exit crumpled, felled each by a thousand punches. He was moving to quickly to be seen as he began the process of breaking bones and intercepting projectiles, forming a high speed biological force field around the fleeing pair.

As they reached the exit, the exit doors shook...then fell apart. The coast was clear.

 

[Rose]

Family Court Room

ROSE!!!

:: She called out as she continued, but the omega level psi did not move or respond. If Charope faltered, or let up her defense even for a MOMENT, she OR Rose cold get hit!::

:: Steel This gave Alycia a moment she needed to actually see to Rose!::

<< She doesnt respond to Oracle or Silver Swan, as she stands there, with WHITE energy surrounding her. She turns and looks at Talisman.>>

<< Rose lifts off the ground, and takes aim, launching forward in a PSYCHO CRUSHER attack, she SMASHES through the men attacking Orion and Valkyrie, but the PRESSURE around her power signature flattens the two of them as she passes, and she BOWLS Isis out of the way like a BOWLING PIN. She flies across the room and charges into Talisman, the moment of impact is surrounded by white light, as she hits/bombards the witch on a myriad of levels, both on the physical AND the astral plane.>>

 

[Orion]

The Courthouse

When Zach told Ash he'd need her help, she agreed, no questions asked. He wanted to kiss her right then, but surprisingly Alycia called his name and recommended that he be awarded guardianship of Jake. Even more surprising, Rose didn't flip out right away, in fact she didn't totally lose her shit until the judge ruled against Zach getting custody. Zach momentarily wondered if he was dreaming, but the sharp pain in the back of his head would certainly have woken him up if he were. He and Ashley proceeded to kick some ass, couple-style, watching each other's backs. Zach knew his goal from before hadn't changed: he needed to get Jake out of this mess, to somewhere safe. He said as much to his partner in crime.

Ashley: You grab him, I'll block for you on the way out.

She said, making short work of the bailiff she had by the neck. Watching her from over his shoulder, he gave her a half smile.

"That was awesome, babe."

He commented, glad to have her on his side. He faced forward again, and saw a trio of men coming at him. He forced grief on two of them, sending them to their knees in tears, and the third man, who was annoyed that his companions stumbled, Zach enraged, and watched as the third man turned attacked the other two, who sobbed and begged, but wouldn't fight back.

A bailiff came flying through the air, and planted a foot square in Zach's chest, knocking him backwards. Zach caught the man's shoe on impact and as he fell backwards, he dragged his attacker down with him, trapping the captured foot under his arm. He wrapped his legs around the bailiff's thigh, applying a leg lock Haleigh had taught him, the 'heel hook.' He twisted the foot, applying torque to the knee until the man screamed and Zach felt the ligaments tear.

He released the man's leg then, now grotesquely limp. No more fancy flying kicks for this asshole. Zach sat up, getting to his knees then and pounding on the bailiff until he went silent. The next thing he knew, Rose was attacking. He saw her blast coming out of the corner of his eye, and immediately he dove for Ash, knocking them both away from the brunt of the blast, but he still took a glancing hit. He was a little slow in getting up, and couldn't stifle a groan. The bailiff that Zach had knocked unconscious seconds before, and the court clerk who'd been fighting with Ash were both dead, scorched by Rose's blast. Zach looked at Ash in alarm.

"She nearly KILLED us just now!"

He exclaimed, helping Ash to her feet.

"Are you hurt? Jake's gone, but I saw him with Recall and Tachyon."

He said, and then he activated his com-link.

"Titan, Matrix! Heads up guys, we were ambushed at court! Lock down the Sanctuary, you could be hit next!"

The Courtroom

Zizi asked Gabe to keep eyes on Jake, as things erupted into chaos.

[com link to Oracle] "Yeah, yeah I got him! Liz be careful!"

[via com] "I will, don't worry."

She told the team to protect the boy, and they made their way that direction. Steel blocked the bullets being fired at them and took care of the guns, then cut a path towards Isis. Oracle followed him, extending her staff now that there was a bit more room, and using it to keep any bailiffs that got too close away - sweeping their feet out from under them and continuing to fire the stun bolts.

Zach and Ashley were closer, but their path was not clear, and Isis was engaged with the Black Queen while Tachyon & Vivica got Jake.

Sharon dispatched several bailiffs coming towards her.

Recall's got Jake, and Tachyon's got them out of the way. We CAN'T let Talisman get away! We OWE her PAY BACK for what she did to Shadow Weaver!

Zizi nodded to her.

[via com] "Everyone but Recall and Tachyon, towards Talisman - and let's clean out the rest of these imposters on the way!"

But then, suddenly, the men around her and Sharon vaporized...she looked, and saw Rose, glowing white. She lifted off the ground, and began to attack more of their attackers, and then Talisman herself, hurtling into the Black Queen in a flash of light like an atom bomb.

"Titan, Matrix! Heads up guys, we were ambushed at court! Lock down the Sanctuary, you could be hit next!"

[via com] "Steel, help Isis. Cypher, can you confirm that the Sanctuary is still on lock down?"

 

[Valkyrie]

The Courtroom

The two of them were cutting through their foes like a knife through butter. She used her power to give one of them a heart attack.

"That was awesome, babe."

"Not looking so bad yourself," she said as Zach was bringing the three coming at HIM to their knees, while she punched another of the attackers in the face.

The court clerk was coming at her.

"Look at THIS bitch."

The woman came at her with a baton, but when Ashley went to grab her arm, the baton made contact with her face and burned her. Ashley's hands went to her face as she cried out - it hurt like a motherfucker - allowing the woman to get in a strike that knocked her to the ground. The clerk raised her foot to stomp down on Ashley's burned face, but she grabbed the woman's other leg and pulled, bringing her down. Ashley got to her feet, but the woman was quick and had righted herself as well.

Suddenly Zach was plowing into her, knocking her away from Rose who barrelled through the clerk, the resultant blast of energy enough to throw them both to the ground.

"She nearly KILLED us just now!"

"Third time today - I'm getting used to it."

Zach helped pull her to her feet.

"Are you hurt? Jake's gone, but I saw him with Recall and Tachyon."

"I'll live. Are YOU okay?"

She looked to where Rose was fighting Talisman.

"I never thought I'd say this, but I prefer the old Black Queen. This new bitch needs to die."

She thought about it.

"Maybe the two of them will kill each other."

 

[Steel]

The Courtroom

Steel was trying to protect Zizi & the others as they made there way across the courtroom towards where Isis was attacking Talisman. Zach & Ashley were also fighting nearby, and he saw Vivica and Tachyon get Jake safely out of the room. He had heard Alycia say that Rose was unconscious, but now he saw her rise up, a white energy around her. She vaporized a group of men coming towards Oracle & Sharon, and then bowled Isis over as she took out several others in between her and Talisman. Rose's agression was turned on Talisman for now, but he was concerned about the implications of what he was seeing. Isis, Zach & Ashley had already been collateral damage.

[via com] "Steel, help Isis."

He nodded, moving quickly to Isis' side and crouching down.

"Are you okay Isis?"

He reached out his hand to help her.
