Things are not looking so bright for the View in a post-Barbara Walters era. Whoopi is the anchor of the show but her co-hosts don't seem to have much staying power. Rosie O'Donell, who returned amid big buzz & fanfare, left rather quickly, citing personal troubles (although rumours said she & Whoopi were butting heads BIG TIME & Rosie didn't have the clout this time around like she did the 1st time she joined the view (& helped bump its ratings up nearly 27%).

Now it's been reported that Rosie Perez is leaving. I have to say, I was disappointed in her showing @ the table. I thought she'd bring alot more passion & fire and offer some more varied opinions. But she seemed to blend into the background too much, so does Nicole Wallace, & now its rumoured she too might be leaving. It's been suggested that if Whoopi doesn't renew her contract in '16 & the show can't be saved, it'll be cxl'ed.

On the other side, Raven Symone was installed as the most recent PERMANENT co-host after a string of successfull guest host spots on the show. She's got a striking look, & some of her views & opinions are truly UNUSUAL & interesting. She gets ppl talking & the show runners saw that, so they kept her.

After watching Tuesday's show, which featured Candace Cameron Bure (a.k.a. "DJ Tanner" from "Full House" & sister to Kirk Cameron), I think Candace would make a good PERMANENT co-host as well. I think SHE'D be the "new Elizabeth Hassleback", which is what the show runners were hoping Nicole Wallace would be @ first. Candace is a loud & proud christian conservative & some of her views are a bit unsual as well. She quickly established herself as a polar opposite to Raven & the two got into a heated debate on private businesses refusing service to same sex couples.

If the View show runners were smart, they'd keep Candace, along w/ Raven & they'd definitely get the "hot topics" portion of the show back on track instead of using the View to hawk "it-products of the moment" & talking about dumb reality shows.

Who else would make a good addition to the View's table?

I don't watch the show often but I feel like something is going on there since they seem to lose people so often. I don't know if they are intimidated by Whoopi or what.

I'm not sure Candace is the person I would choose to show the conservative side, but like I said, I don't watch so it doesn't really matter to me lol. I really rather they pick a moderate rather than have someone who is going to be an extreme person.

You know who might actually be good, not knowing anything of her politics lol - Danielle Fishel. She was the girl on Boys Meets World, but a couple years ago now I saw on her a talk show (I forget why they had her) but she was really well spoken. I think she is the Nutrisystem (or some other weight loss plan) spokesperson, because she actually lost weight with it and on that talk show said how she would love to be their spokesperson because she believes in their program so much. She seemed like she could present a "regular person" view.

Nicolle Wallace Axed as ‘The View’ Co-Host (EXCLUSIVE)

-----------------

This is unfortunate, I think. Nicolle was an intelligent conservative who made you want to listen to her views & insights on issues. She wasn't a knee-jerk, talking-point obsessed, conflict loving chicken hawk like Elizabeth Hassleback & she actually KNEW what she was talking about. I did feel like sometimes she faded to the back too easily during the hot topics portion of the show, but when she talked, she was worth listening to, where as Hassleback made my eyes roll so hard (or sometimes she'd have me laughing hard LOL).

Seems like TPTB @ the View have their eye on Candace Cameron-Bure after all. But I think Danielle Fishel WOULD be a good idea, @ least as a rotating co-host! She has an engaging personality and she knows how to communicate. She doesnt just holler and shriek like Hassleback.

Sherri Shephard is returning to the view . I didn't care for her. I thought she was woefully uninformed on alot of issues she felt so compelled to speak out on. But apparently the viewing audience likes her...

They need a FAR RIGHT Republican..a MODERATE Republican..a FAR LEFT Democrat and a MODERATE Democrat in order to make it work...let the two extremists give you the soundbytes you want for a show and let the moderates keep people watching by trying to "bridge the gap". That's the only way it will work well..because as much as I don't like Hasselbeck for YEARS it was like THREE other women against her every day of the week..that couldn't have been fun.

I'm all for a balance like that. But they also need to make sure that any of those women are well informed. Sherri Shephard & Hassleback often spouted things that were not true (Shephard declared she thought the world was literally FLAT until recent years; Hassleback [among MANY other things] once stated that FDR was NOT the president during the Great Depression).

Nicolle Wallace was intelligent, media savvy & well informed. SO WHAT if she didn't know much about the Kardashians (which apparently was a source of shock & disapproval from the audience...)
she offered a RARE glimpse into the thought process of a republican who actually knows what they stand for & can speak clearly & to the FACTS.

Hassleback was not only a lightning rod, but she was "T&A" (she drew alot of the young male demographic to the show in a way few other co-hosts had). That made her tolerable for a while despite some of the DUMB SHIT that she'd say. She HAD to be heard & demanded as much, so she shouldve expected to face off against however many @ the table w/ her would disagree. She didn't seem to mind it until Rosie O'Donnell devoured her not once but TWICE. Then she cried.

I was really disappointed by Rosie O's return. Not only was it brief, but nobody @ the table seemed to have chemistry & apparently Rosie O & Whoopi clashed BIG TIME behind the scenes.

I think Raven is a good addition but she DEFINITELY needs an opposing view & someone who will challenge her & so far the person who seemed to spark the most reaction out of her w/ their opposing opinions was Candace Cameron Bure (she's definitely Hassleback-LITE if nothing else).

Honestly, they can't sell an intelligent conservative. They'll use CCB because she's going to spout a lot of "crazy Christian" views they can point at and say, "Look at how ridiculous conservatives are." They don't want a balanced show, or they wouldn't pick people like Joy Behar to be on it either - they want people who are inflammatory.
