The Legacy of Star Wars premiered tonight on the History Channel and tells about what anceint literature and major themes Star Wars draws it's six-part saga from. Each section of the documentary focused on differernt characters and the themes and stories associated with them (for example: Anakin's fall from grace in the newer movies mirrors the events surrounding Lucifer Morningstar's transformation into Satan in John Milton's Paradise Lost.) All in all it was a really great documentary and really expanded my knowledge of ancient literature and enriched Star Wars for me at least in a way that was far beyond anything I could have ever imagined. But if you missed it I am sure they will sell it online for 24 bucks...even though it should really be at the most 15 bucks for a documentary but whatever.

I was asking my mother if her husband had watched this program and she said "oh you better believe it. he made an evening event out of it" lol. She said she was in and out of the room, and didnt really get into it that much. My mother's husband comes from a family of star wars fanatics and when his brother , a professional photographer and video producer oversaw the video recording of my mother's wedding to her current husband, her brother in law took it upon himself to make this cute little featurette in the beginning of the video that featured "the epic story of Karen Eckert and Andrew Smith" complete with animated star wars dolls and tolls and a little setting for the dolls :haha: it was VERY well done but my mother would NOT allow her wedding itself to become a star wars festival.

i think its truly fascinating how Star Wars has become almost a culture in itself...it has more than become a staple of american pop culture. I personally was never THAT into Star Wars...i was born the year the ORIGINAL movie (episode IV i guess) was released and so i came up with the original set. later on, i went to the movies for the re-release of the original film in 1996-97 just so that I could experience it in THAT type of setting. good LORD was i surrounded by a whole different kind of people lol. there were people there in costumes and some of them were so elaborate.

the second group of SW films...episodes I thru III, i wasnt pressed about seeing

I thought the newer ones were okay but didn't really match up to the originals maybe except for Episode III, but that was just barely. I am not a huge Star Wars fantatic, it's not like I go out and buy a million action figures when the newest movie would come out or something like that. I just like the movies...and owning a Lightsaber to beat people with.
