The folly of Bianca

Nicolas moved with the rest of the team with urgency, arriving at the lobby with them when he FELT the backlash of Spell's impending death. It staggered him, making his head ACHE with the psychic scream.

They emerged at the roof as Alison aided Morgan and Haleigh stymied him for the moment. As he came around he was beside himself as he saw her condition. Alsion called for Shadow Weaver.

I can FEEL her magick LEAVING her...she's DYING and I CAN'T stop it! Call Shadow Weaver....and HURRY.

:: She looks at Haleigh...with much the same look the night she revealed to Haleigh who would die at the hands of Master Mold.::

:: She HAD to pull herself together. they would NEED her as a PRECOG in realtime in this battle if they had any hope of fighting ...surviving...POSSIBLY defeating Black. She did NOT address Bianca. If the woman was near them now...Alison would not acknowledge her...not NOW.::

....::blinking a few times as tears fall from her face.::

When Shadow Weaver gets here...she'll be nearly beside herelf. she already knows what's happening to Morgan. she could sense it through their bond as Mother and Child. Haleigh...CALM her and tell her She MUST take Morgan away from here...back to Minerva's manion- the infirmary. I have...a protocall there in place for this...ever since the last time Morgan nearly died in battle with Black. Shadow Weaver has the power to PERHAPS hold Morgan together and put her into coma. But most importantly, she wont be HERE.

WE will keep Black HERE and will...we MUST

::Black's roar is heard a he prepares to rush them again.::

deal with him!

Nicolas tore open a hole in the Astral field that emerged thousands of miles away and roared to Shadow Weaver and Mike...

Come take Morgan from here! NOW. Time is of the essence.

Nicolas turned back as Black made a rush. His markings manifested themselves as he rushed to meet him, gleaming axe in hand. He slammed the creature with tens of tons of TK force as he met him headlong.

I am going to KILL you BLACK!!

Delilah sunk to her knees at Morgan's side, silent with worry. Alison assented to calling Karen; Nicolas beat Haleigh to the punch.

Alison: When Shadow Weaver gets here...she'll be nearly beside herself. she already knows what's happening to Morgan. she could sense it through their bond as Mother and Child. Haleigh...CALM her and tell her she MUST take Morgan away from here... back to Minerva's mansion - the infirmary. I have a protocol there in place for this...ever since the last time Morgan nearly died in battle with Black. Shadow Weaver has the power to PERHAPS hold Morgan together and put her into a coma. but most importantly, she won't be HERE.

Haleigh nodded as Nicolas called across the astral plane... but in his haste and worry didn't tell them where or bring them over. Ava had a plan to hit Black with an illusion, but in order for Alison to split her attention to a spell, she needed to be well protected. Haleigh picked Delilah up by grasping her upper arms and stood her back up, lifting her chin and forcing her to look up. Her gaze was steady, pleading for Delilah to focus and follow through.

"Nicolas and Ava will hammer Black offensively. You're on Defense, okay? No matter WHAT, make sure that nothing Black manages to do reaches this spot. Make sure nothing ricochets either. You put up a shield around you three, and don't let ANYTHING cross it."

Haleigh gave one more glance to Alison, then disappeared. Mere seconds later she reappeared halfway across the world, in front of Karen and Mike. As Alison had foretold, Karen looked like she was barely keeping it together. Haleigh took her by the elbow.

"Alright Karen, focus. There's no time to waste. Morgan is hurt, BUT SHE CAN BE SAVED. It's NOT TOO LATE, but you have to keep your wits about you. BREATHE. Once we hit the rooftop, take Morgan AND the injured man to Minerva's. Alison has a protocol set up for this. You hold Morgan together, induce a coma and let Alison's team help you, okay? Heal the spare [Maxim] if you can after you take care of Morgan. Prepare yourself, okay? It's gonna look bad, but you can DO THIS. Now I don't often tow other people along when I travel, so take a deep breath."

She said, steeling Karen for the scene and then whisking her away via molecular displacement. They reappeared in record time. Karen went instantly to Morgan's side. Haleigh grabbed Bishop by the scruff of his jacket and drug him over to Karen to make it easier.

"GO Karen, we've got this."

empire state building rooftop

:: Rampage went AFTER Black. If EVER there was a time for Nicolas to cut loose on someone, THIS was it.::

We must try to.... :: Harbinger tried to steady herself, her emotions as Black Widow went to retrieve Shadow Weaver after Nicolas reached out to her:: ... END this. The Empire State Bldg. will give way from the forces at work here before too long.

Bianca is relatively safe with her temporal cloak. She gave us the crucial moment we needed and now Rampage is showing Black that he's NOT dealing with "just another sequel to Valiant".

:: Rampage's full offensive on Black was buying the time they needed for Shadow Weaver to get Spellbinder and [because it was the right thing to do] Bishop OUT of here.::

As soon as Shadow Weaver is free and clear with Morgan and Bishop....MorningStar, be prepared to release your MOST POWERFULL stroboscopic "flash bulb" effect. No matter how powerfull OR deadly Black is, he's NOT a telepath. He relies on sensory input from his eyes.

When Black forces Rampage away, I'LL distract him with my astral projection. He CAN'T harm my projection, but when he tries to, MorningStar, BLIND the bastard!

When he recovers :: she looks at Persephone: He'll be confronted with one of his deepest fears...."ORORO". I'll cast the "illusion/fear" spell to make you appear as though you are Ororo. You must attack him as SAVAGELY as you can!

:: and what then?::

Rampage can BACK your play after you've hit him hard. Neither we nor the innocents we stand between need to find out just how far this can go...we have to DESTROY him.

:: Habinger KNEW that with Morgan gone, SHE would be the next target Black would ZERO IN on. After her, Persephone. She didnt argue Black Widow ordering MorningStar to BLOCK for her. She was so shaken by how bad this had all gotten, how bad it had all BEEN from the moment Delilah DIED up until NOW. ::

:: BIANCA! if they werent in mortal physical danger, if SPellbinder werent so near DEATH and if that STUPID WOMAN hadn't managed to HELP them in small but crucial ways just now, ALison would have BLOWN HER UP and used the battle with Black to cover her MURDER of Bianca up.::

Nicolas turned back as Black made a rush. His markings manifested themselves as he rushed to meet him, gleaming axe in hand. He slammed the creature with tens of tons of TK force as he met him headlong.

I am going to KILL you BLACK!!

Airborne from the force, Black flies up and several feet back before slamming into an antenna, snapping it as it crashes down into the roof with crater impact.

moments later, he rises. sparks and orbs of nega-energy pop and fling out from the crater where he landed.

A telekinetic event, of high level.

He looks upon the mutant, who shows markings indicating something more than mere mutation. Rampage stood between him and the most obvious path to where MorningStar, Harbinger, Persephone and the fallen Spellbinder were grouped.

The strange voice that had called out to him earlier had no traceable source. perhaps it was just an anamoly.

You are just as dangerous as the witches. Possible omega level threat. You must be terminated. Any ally of Spellbinder must be terminated! Along with the witch herself.

Black launches himself forward, seemingly taking an OBVIOUS direct route. But as Nicolas went to deal with him head on, he immediately shifts forms, turning into dark energy tendrils that spread out around Nicolas before shooting down into the ground, meeting up UNDER Rampage as they combine into one massive column of nega-energy and BLAST upward.

Black's energy would not be immediately lethal to anyone OTHER than SPellbinder, Harbinger & Shadow Weaver BUT that didnt mean his power didnt pack a deadly, DAMAGING PUNCH or other hurtfull effects.

Rampage found himself cought up in an eruption of nega-energy that BLASTS upward, hitting him with the SAME amount of power he gave to Black. He was then STRUCK by several powerfull bolts of nega-energy while airborne, like lightning strikes.

I don't know why you care about that witch so much, but I am capable of MATCHING your brute force, mutant anamoly.

Black now stood where Nicolas had once stood before Black blasted him more than a MILE up in the air.

WITCH! I WILL NOT BE DENIED!

He bellowed as he once more set his sights on Harbinger and Spellbinder

and then

<< As Black once again chrages for the witches, MorningStar & Persephone to prepare to block and defend but then, in a show of aerial grace and how far he'd come since training with Isis, Rampage checks Black as he SLAMS DOWN into Black with more than the force of a high powered wrecking ball.>>

<< AT THAT MOMENT, Black Widow RETURNS, with an obviously distressed Shadow Weaver, who is in her current costume. She rushes to her fallen daughter's side. taking her into her arms as crestfallen Harbinger, MorningStar and Persephone look on.>>

Shadow Weaver said:
: oh Morgan...baby....

<< Karen clutches Morgan closely as she looks to the other women, tears streaming down her face. Spellbinder was truly near DEATH. Harbinger felt it, and Karen felt it even as it was happening BEFORE Nicolas reached out to her. Now that she was this close...she felt like a piece of HERSELF was dying with Morgan.>>

Black Widow said:
Karen...take Morgan AND the injured man[Bishop] to Minerva's. Alison has a protocol set up for this. You hold Morgan together, induce a coma and let Alison's team help you, okay? Heal the spare [Maxim] if you can after you take care of Morgan. Prepare yourself, okay? It's gonna look bad, but you can DO THIS. Now I don't often tow other people along when I travel, so take a deep breath.

<< to save time and effort on Karen's part, Haleigh pulls Bishop over. Knowing that Karen can "move" under her own power across vast distances and that she can carry at least two or three other people with her.>>

Harbinger said:
I know...Karen. I KNOW what you're thinking...but I promise you, BLACK WON'T be coming after you OR Morgan. He might be here now...but he's NOT GOING ANYWHERE FURTHER.

Persephone said:
You have our word

MorningStar said:
We'll send this bastard back to HELL where he belongs!

<< when Rampage IMPACTS Black and stops him from reaching the rest of the Six, the time for Karen being here has come to an end. Black Widow, accustomed to pulling the group on in moments like this is the last to speak...>>

Black Widow said:
"GO Karen, we've got this."

<< the power of the impact and the shockwave rocks the area but as Black Widow urgers Karen to evacuate with her daughter and bishop, the sorceress does so. Much to the relief of the team, she escapes with Morgan, who now has a chance at survival with her Mother and Alison's protocals at Minerva's.>>

<< and NOW comes THEIR burden...to deal with a creature that has prooven to be a deadly menace to more than one in more than one timeline. the TRUE owner of the Sword of Anger.>>

Rampage had no problem launching himself at Black time and again. He had incredible force behind him, for someone who was ultimately HUMAN. And his desire to protect the witch was interesting, if not a ILLOGICAL.

Rampage slams his axe into Black's chest. Had it NOT been charmed with Spellbinder's MAGICK, it would have been a terrible blow to sustain, but Black's energy signature had LONG been designed to compensate for HER magick and so, while the physical impact was tremendous, any lasting effects were NEGATED and Black's body reforms.

Why do you care about this witch?

He slams his hand into Nicolas FACE and BLASTS Nicolas away from him after they trade several blows that would have KILLED other individuals, superhuman or not.

You're efforts, while "VALIANT", only delay the inevitable. YOU will tire LONG before I do.

Black stands up once more, hulking and looming.

Empire State bldg. rooftop

:: Harbinger exhales as Shadow Weaver carries Spellbinder away from ground zero. THAT part of this whole thing had gone according to plan and now for the rest...::

:: Rampage had bought them the time they needed to evacuate Spellbinder and even Bishop but Black was right, even Rampage would tire long before BLACK would. Both Harbinger and Persephone knew from first hand experience that to fight Black required a CAREFULL TEAM EFFORT... and some seriously EXTREME act of divine intervention at some point.::

:: as Rampage is finally blasted away by Black as Alison had predicted, Harbinger teleblinks Nioclas, setting him upright and back with the the group.::

:: it was time for them to launch their GROUP offensive now.::

okay...here we go.

:: she says as she looks among them while they all gather around her. Without any obvious physical action, Black Widow blows out some of the light fixtures around the rooftop to distract Black for a moment.::

::Alison bows her head and shuts her eyes and activates her ASTRAL PROJECTION power, as "she" suddenly appears behind Black several feet near the cage where Bianca had held Delilah.::

Harbinger: I'm over here, ASSHOLE. Come and get me!

Black: You barely survived our last encounter, witch. Your power is different than Spellbinder's. But the outcome will be the same and Ororo will NOT be able to save you this time.

Harbinger: maybe you should "save" your breath for saving YOURSELF you big lummox. we've taken Spellbinder away from you...and I'm NOT scared of you.

:: "she" smirks and nods her head, mocking Black::

Black: I'll stain my hands with you're blood! Worse than your own screams...the last thing you'll hear...

:: as he begins his charge toward her::

Black: is the cracking of your vertabrae. ONE...BY ONE!

::Harbinger doesnt move! she waits! Black closes in on her. If the team didnt know what was really happening, this would be beyond insane to watch unfold.::

:: and now, having moved far from the group toward "Alison", Black reaches out to grab hold of "her", only to see "her" wave goodbye as "she" VANISHES. Black is quite tripped up as his momentum works against him now as he lungees at what was apparently NEVER THERE and begins to fall forward, hitting his chin squarely on the ledge of the roof!::

:: It was now time for MorningStar to attack!::

Nicolas went at him head-on, but Black managed to dissipate and reform...

Eh?

UNDER him, launching him into the air quickly enough to nearly catch his clothing on fire. Before he knew it, he was over 1900 meters up and still going. But his time with Isis and with NUT was not wasted. He redirected all kinetic energy DOWNWARD, accelerated at an incredible pace, and coated himself with a TK-field to limit self-damage as he SLAMMED back down into Black, creating a shockwave that would have killed most people in and of itself. He felt the building give as he landed, and immediately effected repairs to save the thousands still inside.

That gave Black an opening and he took it,slamming into Nicolas' head and chest. Nicolas gave as good as he got, and he MIGHT have even been stronger than Black, but the beast got in a good shot, managing to punch and fire into Rampage's face, propelling him backwards...

to the team? It had to be Alison; indeed, he could feel the effect of her teleblink maneuver on his cells as he landed upright, and his body, while not as resilient as Black's, was in very good shape as they regrouped.

Nice save.

He plucked the plan from Ava's mind and prepared himself..his axe sharpening and becoming more jagged, its glyphs starting to glow, the "hammer" side of the axe becoming a spike. His trench began to billow in the wind, seeming to expand and managing to cloak the team further in shadow as Ava began to play with Black's mind.

Karen had taken Morgan away – she was safe, at least, if not well – and that helped Delilah focus. She pushed the worry out of her mind. She had to trust in Karen right now.

Delilah readied herself. She cracked her knuckles, watching Black’s movements intently, waiting for her moment.

Harbinger’s astral self was the perfect decoy, and Black fell for it easily. He lunged for her, and it felt real even to Delilah who knew it was fake. The projection disappeared, and Black actually fell forward. Now was the time, while he was already disoriented.

Delilah thrust out her left hand, her fingers spread wide. Blinding flashes of light began bursting around Black, in addition to a “strobe light” pattern. The combination would be disorienting at the very least. If Black were human, he’d be convulsing. But he wasn’t human, and Delilah could only hope it would be enough to distract him.

As her attack continued, she raised her right hand near her shoulder and made a tight fist, erecting a shield of blue light between her comrades and Black. She’d done what she could - now it was time to see if Harbinger’s spell would work.

Millennia smirked with satisfaction as she watched Black blasted by MorningStar, then pummelled by Black Widow. That would show him to mess with her.

Then, strangely, Black Widow decided to address her directly.

Black Widow said:
"You know, thunder is just noise. Lightning does the damage. Just a life lesson for ya. Instead of huffing and puffing and threatening to do a bunch of shit, you might consider just GETTING SHIT DONE. Especially when time is of the essence."

“Nice metaphor trash mouth. And how much time did you waste thinking that little speech up? Next time I won’t waste my time assisting you.”

The others forgot about her as they huddled around the fallen Spellbinder. Bianca masked her surprise as Black Widow disappeared and then reappeared with Morgan’s mother. Karen Victoria took her daughter – and Maxim – away. She didn’t feel sorry for them, Bianca was never sorry, but it was an unfortunate occurrence.

The Six had a plan. It seemed sound – perhaps these people could actually pull it off even. But she wasn’t about to take the chance on it. Black didn’t notice her, and she was relatively safe, even if there were many unpleasant things that could happen to her still on that roof. But Black was not going to get away.

She spoke to her security chief on the ground through the com in her ear. Thankfully the thing was practically indestructible – and well should be, for the pricetag. But there were things available to the insanely wealthy that just weren’t available to regular people. And now was the time, if ever there was one, to benefit from that fact.

“Set a perimeter. Ground and aerial. That thing-“

- she knew he had been monitoring the events on the roof via satellite –

“-does not make it off this building, comprenez-vous? And for god’s sake, keep the press away. And the NYPD. Call the governor if you have to. Call the president. Nothing is going on here tonight as far as they’re concerned.”

She paused, then added, though she wasn’t sure why,

“Oh, and do another sweep of the building, make sure no one else is here.”

Black talked a big game…to a hologram, or something. Whatever it was Alison did. And then he fell on his face. Bianca laughed.

casting the spell

:: Watching Black through the eyes of her Astral form was no easy thing for Alison. When he LUNGED for her, she DID feel a flash of distress...PANIC even. Her astral form vanishes as she herself comes to with a start.::

:: MorningStar takes her shot and makes it count. So INTENSE was the strobe effect that Alison had to look away for it was painfully intense even from where they were.::

Get ready....remember...hit him HARD.

:: she said to Persephone.::

:: When the powerfull strobe effect attack concluded, Black was ROARING with shock and pain! MorningStar had done it! but for how long? Rampage manages to use the darkness of his cloak to mask their presence in the illusion of the nighttime darkness as MorningStar's strobe attack subsided::

:: extending her hands and gesturing, Harbinger weaves a pattern of power and utters an incantation::

Darkness of illusion Destroy his might!
Bring forth his ultimate fear in full sight

:: a rushing sound is heard as dark orbs flow around Persephone and spread out as they continue to swirl before glow brightly and fade from view. for The Six, Persephone looks the same but as she steps out of Nicolas's shadow, she seems to glamor into the form of ORORO, the immortal weather goddeses that guards the Dark Trinity and resides in Limbo as the 2nd strongest authority there.::

:: Persephone appears and even FEELS to be the real thing and with her own intimate knowledge of Ororo both in the MoE time and this mainstream timeline, the goddess would be able to imitate Ororo to fine detail. The SPELL guarantees her voice will sound like Ororo's as well and with Persephone's elemental power, she'll most certainly be able to strike with a painfully similar ferocity!::

:: the rest of the Six remain back as Persephone, in the form of Ororo, wearing her white "goddess dress", her BLACK cape and a black spiked choker w/ a red rose that adorns her dress like a brooch (her attire when she's angered or in battle) ::

scare tactics

<< Rampage was thoughtfull enough to care for the structure of the building. wiwth such powerfull forces at play, the building would gave way LONG before anything was conluded here and to spare them a major catastrophe, he helpsp keep it together.>>

<< Bianca ALSO does her part, using her established web of surveilance and soldiers to not only prepare a last ditch effort to keep Black from leaving this place should the Six fail, but ALSO keep the press, law enforcement and other potentially BAD leaks/interference, innocent people away. She felt no sympathy for Spellbinder BUT her whole outlook on this had changed, starting with when Spellbinder reached out to her HUMANELY rather than with demonic agression. MorningStar's words had been heard after all but what woulld that mean in the aftermath...if there was one?>>

<< and now, the next stage of the Six's gambit unfolds as Harbinger casts a classic illusion/fear spell that will be powered unwittingly by BLACK. Persephone, another of his close personal encounters, takes on the form of ORORO, a being he TRULY feared and who had overpowered/humiliated him TWICE in mainstream time.>>

<< Would Persephone be able to pull it off? It was time for them to see what she could REALLY do and against someone who was TRULY deserving of it.>>

Black: MORNINGSTAR! YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS.

<< Black stumbled about as he breathed more labored. His eyes, his senses , his mind recovering from the SHOCK and OVERLOAD of MorningStar's strobe attack. Most humans wouldve been battered unconscious, left blind and DAZZLED but Black was something else all together and so while staggerred, he wasnt DOWN yet. His blindness would be temporary.>>

<< as his sensory input began to recover and his eyesight returned.. he shook his head, noticing that no one seemed to be in view.>>

Black: cloaking spells? Harbinger you should know by now that i....

<< he didnt realize it WASNT Harbinger behind this...or that she WAS behind something ELSE.>>

<< he spots...>>

Black:...what....YOU!?

<< he seems TRULY taken aback as he believes his sensory inpput is still off from MorningStar's attack.>>

Black: It's NOT POSSIBLE. NO ONE CALLED FOR YOU! SPELLBINDER IS...

Everyone did their part; Haleigh retrieved Karen to help Morgan, Nicolas attacked Black with brute force, Alison distracted him as Karen whisked Morgan and Maxim away, and Delilah assaulted Black with a very powerful and very intense strobe attack. He was in pain and distracted, covering his eyes while roaring in agony. This gave Alison the time needed to start her spell.

Thunder crashed loudly in the skies as the spell took effect. Persephone still looked like Persephone to the others, but to Black, she was now Ororo.

Black: Black:...what....YOU!?

Stepping out from the shadows, Persephone further revealed her new form to Black. He was in utter shock--completely taken aback.

Black: Black: It's NOT POSSIBLE. NO ONE CALLED FOR YOU! SPELLBINDER IS...

[her voice reverberating loudly] "ALIVE AND SAFE! And I needn't be called by ANYONE to know when you're presents has RAPED THIS WORLD!"

Thrusting her hand out at Black, a powerful blast of wind hit him from BEHIND, sending him flying directly in Persephone's path. Thrusting her other hand out, a MASSIVE bolt of lightning illuminated the sky around the Empire State Building as it charged down at Black and hits him directly in the chest! His body is now soaring backwards like a rag doll until it crashes onto the concrete roof creating a crater where he hit.

Walking forward, the wind began to pick up violently and the air turning a bitter, bitter cold.

"YOU!"

Another lightning bolt came hurling down at Black from the skies above, hitting him in the back as he staggered to try and get up. He would immediately feel his body turning rigid because of the dip in temperature; this making her attack even MORE painful and him even more sluggish.

"WILL NEVER!"

ANOTHER bolt crashed down upon Black.

"HURT ANYONE!"

And ANOTHER lightning bolt strikes down on him; his flesh sizzling with each assault.

"I LOVE AGAIN!!!"

And with that, the crater beneath Black EXPLODES upward with the force rivaling that of a volcano erupting, and sent him flying high into the air above the needle of the Empire State Building. Persephone's hands were lifted into the sky until finally, she waved them down; the wind hitting Black's body like a battering ram and literally sending him hurling INTO the famous building's lightning rod, PIERCING him through his torso like a skewer.

Karma
Karma
excellent! Marvel might get mad at us if they see this! :D
MorningStar looked on triumphantly as Black was doubled over from her attack. She wanted to hurt him for what he’d done to Spellbinder – and what he would do to Harbinger and Persephone if he could. She held her shield strong – making sure nothing could touch Alison as she performed her spell.

Black: MORNINGSTAR! YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS.

“Yeah you can try Ugly. But a wallet doesn’t go with this outfit, dick.”

It was amazing how perfectly transformed Ava was into Ororo. And she imitated the weather witch’s way of speaking and mannerisms exactly. Delilah had never really thought about the fact that Ava had known Ororo in her old life.

Ava was usually so reserved, it was rare that the Six would get to see her so forceful, wielding her power so unforgivingly and without reserve. She was brutal.

The rest of them could only watch as Persephone raised Black up, only to slam him down onto the lightning rod of the building.

“Holy…crap…”

She looked at Alison. Was that enough?

Empire State bldg. roof top

:: Harbinger couldnt help but silently cheer Persephone on as she deftly pulled off her ruse as "Ororo" which was made to manifest "real as life" by Harbinger's own fear based illusion spell.::

He's terrorized Morgan and Blaze...not to mention myself...and even Darkchilde and her MoE family. It's only fitting that he get a TASTE of that fear he brings to those he attacks.

:: they were all MORE than a "little" impressed by persephone. she imitated Ororo's fury and wrath quite well and with her own elemental power being unleashed without concern against their foe, it was a reminder that she should NEVER be underestimated, no matter how reserved she may be in this timeline.::

:: but now as Black lay impaled on the antenna high above, they all had the same question on their mind.::

was it enough??

:: speaking in a low town just to be heard by those gathered around her::

Ororo sent Black literallyscreaming out of this world hurtling back into Limbo engulfed in mystic flames and the white hot wrath of her lightning. We dont have the benefit of opening a stepping disc...we cant afford to leave this to chance.

:: already thinking of the best way to truly eliminate him.::

:: they all cautiously stepped forward, with Nicolas attemptig to scan Black for vitals of anykind.::

he wont stop coming for Spellbinder and anyone else he's set his sights on until she is dead, lifeless in his hands and as long as he remains alive in this reality, I can see it...no matter how remote. He will pursue and eventually catch up to Spellbinder.

transitional form

Spellbinder had overpowered him in what was supposed to be their "final" confrontation. It was a score he intended to even.

But time and again, this woman, this WEATHER WITCH got in his way! ORORO! Even in the MoE timeline, she was there!

It as easy to assume she would be a pushover, but th last time they fought, she sent him screaming out of this world, literally!

and her she was AGAIN!

Battered and on the ropes, Black's large form SLID down the spiked antenna as his heavy breathing could be heard in the night air. the billowing black clouds that held the soft rumble of thunder withinthm continued to swirl.

But when it was all said and done... he was still HERE. Why handn't Ororo CAST HIM OUT like she had every other time??

his groaning was audible and he was clearly wounded in this round but still not dead. and STILL ....HERE??

the others were talking, relying n the PREY (Harbinger) for an indication of what to do next.

after about5 minutes, Black roared with pain before SHATTERING and falling downtoward them in massive glowing "droplets" of nega-enegy. a black puddle forms and as dark lightning shoot down, Black' voice can be heard.

Weather Witch! your power must FAIL you! for I am STILL here!

the moving puddle flows up ward into the basic form of Black but not totally taking full form. the new transitional form extends his hands forward and fires upon them! massive broad beams of nega-energy that will MAIM Harbinger and subject the othes to a pain worse than being struck by lightning.

He flows toward Persephone, who appears to be in Ororo's fom.

I will remove you from ths equation. Your power clerly can't protect Spellbinder, Harbinger or anyone ELSE from me much LONGER, woman.

He forms a "bubble" that quickly flies toward Persephone, GROWING in its size. if it engulfs her, it will flood her from the inside out wit nega-energy in liquid form, much like he appears now, DROWNING her from within.

Nicolas watched, impressed as Ava opened up on Black, wearing him out with elemental attacks that exceeded any he had seen from her in the past. The coup de grace was her lifting him up and then IMPALING him on the lightning rod.

Well damn...

Nicolas began to scan him for life as the others asked about what to do next. He was very skeptical; his tussle with Black indicated regenerative abilities, and so he was not surprised when Black made his move.

Nicolas made an illusion of his own, shifting the appearance of the team by twenty yards to Black's right. His attack flowed harmlessly past but appeared in his eyes to have simply no effect on the team as he focused on "Ororo".

As the sphere approached Ava, Nicolas pulled the wiring through the roof, connecting the bubble to the upper grid of the Empire State Building and flooding it with tens of thousands of volts of electricity, hopefully enough to give him pause until they regrouped.

Persephone's eyes remained on Black as he remained immobile due to being impaled by the Empire State Buildings needle. Her attack wasn't just for show--to look like Ororo. Her attack was for every person that Black ever hurt in her life. Darkchilde, Spellbinder, Karen in both timelines, Harbinger, and the six. It was a giant FUCK YOU to his 'i'm invincible' mentality. It was damn satisfying.

After a few moments of calming down from the adrenaline rush, Alison regrouped everyone to inform them that only Ororo and Spellbinder could actually cast him to Limbo. It was beyond anything Persephone could do, even if she was impersonating the weather witch.

Alison: he wont stop coming for Spellbinder and anyone else he's set his sights on until she is dead, lifeless in his hands and as long as he remains alive in this reality, I can see it...no matter how remote. He will pursue and eventually catch up to Spellbinder.

"Then we'll figure out another way to send him to hell.....Delilah's wormholes maybe? A spell?"

But even as they discussed their possibilities, Black was already in the midst of causing more destruction. His body exploded from the antenna and pooled onto of the roof as a liquefied version of himself. He sent an onslaught of nega energy at the six, but Nicolas quickly acted and created an illusion of the group where Black's attack was aimed.

Black: Weather Witch! your power must FAIL you! for I am STILL here! I will remove you from ths equation. Your power clerly can't protect Spellbinder, Harbinger or anyone ELSE from me much LONGER, woman.

As the "Black Blob" approached Ava, Nicolas again acted by sending all the electricity flowing through the top levels of the Empire State Building INTO Black. Thunder crashed loudly as the skies opened up above New York City and a torrent of torrential rain began pouring all around them. The rain engulfed Black and the water ignited the electricity even further causing a violent explosion around his blob form.

"You're still here only because I WISH you to be you FOOL! Haven't you learned by now? I do things MY WAY."

Persephone's voice was booming as she shouted at Black--her impersonation of Ororo spot on. Turning to the others, Ava really couldn't do any more other than continue her onslaught of elemental attacks to buy them time.

"We need to figure out something soon! I can only play the Ororo card for so long.."

It was as if time stood still – the calm seconds between breaths, or lightning strikes…

He won’t stop coming for Spellbinder and anyone else he's set his sights on until she is dead, lifeless in his hands and as long as he remains alive in this reality, I can see it...no matter how remote. He will pursue and eventually catch up to Spellbinder.

Alison’s words triggered something in the back of Delilah’s mind. She commented on it offhand.

“Just like Master Mold…”

But there was no time to consider that thought, as Black was now turning his attack viciously onto Persephone. Her quick thinking turned the tables of the attack back onto him, though.

Persephone said:
"We need to figure out something soon! I can only play the Ororo card for so long.."

“And we can only defend ourselves out here against him so long…I can distract him with a hologram of Morgan, but we need something that can finish him.”

Ava: We need to figure out something soon! I can only play the Ororo card for so long..."

Delilah: And we can only defend ourselves out here against him so long... I can distract him with a hologram of Morgan, but we need something that can finish him."

"Well, there's always this."

Haleigh interjected, revealing the gleaming blade of the Sword of Anger. She'd seized it while her sister was battering Black with her Ororo impression. Because of her control over metals, Black would not be able to strip it from her like he did to Bianca.

"Morgan used it to defeat Black in their first battle, right? So off with the fucker's head. See how much trash he talks then. Delilah, include a replica of the sword in your hologram, and have Morgan challenge him. Morgan was badly injured by touching the sword, so don't forget to make it look hard for her. The more authenticity, the better the illusion. I'll hit him from the blind side with the real thing."
