In a monumental joint partnership between the two biggest companies in the comic book industry, DC Comics and Marvel Comics, the two publishing rivals, worked together to temporarily create new super-heroes based on the amalgamation of their greatest legends. By combining characters such as Batman and Wolverine, they created Dark Claw, a new dark vigilante who borrowed elements and powers from each of the characters' true origins. Featured in THE AMALGAM AGE OF COMICS: THE DC COMICS COLLECTION are the adventures of these momentary collaborations such as Super Soldier (Captain America and Superman), Amazon (Wonder Woman/Storm) and JLX (Justice League and the X-Men).

Personal thought:This was born from the effects and outcome of the highly publicized "Marvel Vs. DC" crossover battle of 1996. I really enjoyed the Amalgam universe characters, especially Amazon (Wonder Woman/ Storm) Bullets and Bracelets (Frank Castle/Punisher & Diana Prince [formerly "Wonder Woman"] ).

Did anyone else enjoy this creative run?

I love corssovers...sometimes regardless of how bad they are.Not that there were many bad ones with DC/Marvel IMO.
I loved the Amalgam run. I have a thing for costumes-you got a cool one and I'm your fan.Shallow but there's worse than me out there hehe.

Half the fun of amalgam was figuring out who they were crossed with. My ex left a lot of his comics that he loaned me ot read, and there's a lot of Amalgam in there. My favorite was Generation Hex lol

the Amalgam universe was the most unexpected thing to come out of that Marvel Vs. DC cross over. this was the most heavily hyped cross over event in the history of the Marvel Vs. DC storylines and Marvel was DEPENDING on it due to their slumping sales at the time.

the Amalgam was something that really captured my attention and i KNEW it was not going to last because comic houses never seem to want to go in bold directions like this for very long.

I just read one of the Amalgam issues Dr. Strangefate. it was actually pretty good better than i was expecting. I think if Marvel and DC had kept up with the characters they might of had something nice.
