Texas "vampire" arrest sparks discussion on pop culture

proxy.php

HOUSTON (Reuters) - The arrest of a Texas man who broke into a woman's house, threw her against a wall and tried to suck her blood over the weekend has sparked discussion over the impact of vampire books and movies on U.S. youth culture.

--------------

oh gimme a break! :rolleyes2: how about the impact of PARENTS doing their job & teaching the "youth" the difference between fantasy & reality, common sense & good behavior?! My mother had the "difference between fantasy & reality" talk w/ me often as a young girl - often she would do it WHILE a tv show or movie was playing. she wanted to deconstruct what i was seeing & understand that while it was intriguing that it was FANTASY & that you don't go & try to imitate things like attacking someone as a vamp etc in REALITY.

Now for those who are apart of the "underground" vamp culture (& I knew a few ppl who are) that's different b/c everyone involved is a knowing, consenting adult.

You can't blame books & movies for ppl's ridiculous behavior. But you CAN blame parents who didnt educate & train ppl when they were children & young adults to know better.

Meanwhile- if any of YOU twilight ho's try that shit w/ me?? I'll go all DARK PHOENIX on your ass! :fdevil: :p
