Male Voice: "Wow... that was intense."

"Yeah." Haleigh responds, as she drops her defensive stance. The holographic opponent at her feet fades out, and the CI operative hands Haleigh a hand towel and a gatorade sports bottle. Haleigh squirts a good amount of gatorade into her mouth before passing the bottle back and gently blots a light layer of perspiration from her neckline and the skin exposed by the v-neck opening in the front of her BDU.

Operative:"You could've dispatched it a lot faster than that. What's distracting you?"

"She's KEEPING something from me... from US.... and.... it's bothering me. Why did she tear out of here so quickly?? You know what.... Run the Arklay Mansion simulation again, minus the welcoming committee... I want to see if I can poke around and find something.... I've got to confront her or I'll go nuts.... and I need something more concrete to do it with than the liar-liar-pants-on-fire technique."

The man nodded and disappeared, and a few seconds later the sparring room setting shifted to the creepy, eerie mansion, and Haleigh paced slowly around, hoping something might catch her eye.... she mentally accessed files on Sharon and grasped for straws on any reports on Arklay, all while she focused intensely on her surroundings, even going so far as to implement x-ray vision.

Bishop sat in his one chair at a rectangular kitchen table, cleaning his guns. He took them apart and oiled and polished them piece by piece. People underestimated the importance of firearm maintenance. Luckily, that was the first rule of the Marine Corps.

This was one of many safe houses. Sparsely furnished, but then he didn't need much. He didn't have friends to entertain, no family to provide for. It was just him, and that suited him just fine. No distractions. Nothing to get in the way of his mission.

He swatted at a fly and sent the lamp hanging over the table swinging, the light throwing itself in strange patterns on the brick walls of the converted warehouse. He thought about his kill earlier. He had hesitated - taken too long. He shouldn't have spoken to the cop - that made it personal. He could tell she really believed in it all. He only believed in himself. Get in, take out the target, get out. That's how it always had been. He couldn't afford less.

He berated himself inside his head. He needed to focus. There were more important things to deal with than a cop on a mission. Finishing his work he stood and moved to a coffee table where several open manila folders sat. He picked a weight up off the floor and began doing bicep curls with one hand as he flipped through the files with the other. After a time he switched arms but continued reading, studying the information intently. Finally coming to a stack of photographs intermixed with stills from surveillance cameras he let them fall one by one onto the table in front of him.

Spellbinder during the Inferno

"Spellbinder: Morgan Victoria..."

Guardian decapitating Victor Klein

"Guardian aka Harbinger: Alison Marble..."

Several photographs from the recent debacle at St. Patrick's Cathedral

"Black Widow: Haleigh Davidoff..."

"Rampage: Nicolas King..."

"Persephone: Ava Cassadine..."

"Prophet: Cameron King..."

Alycia hitting Stavros with the golf club

"Alycia Barnett...and the prime target"

The final two photographs fall. The first is of Sharon, reigning destruction down upon midtown Manhattan. The other shows Sharon, her husband, and her young son Kyle, all smiling happily into the camera.

"The Silver Swan..."

Curious

Illustra- the Danger room

<< ever the quick think, Haleigh decides to see what more she can learn about the Arklay Mansion via the Danger Room's files and simulations. Now that Alycia has given a NAME to "that place" that upset Sharon so much.>>

<< as she directed the Arklay mansion sequence to be ran MINUS the zombies and bio hazards, the computer systems activated with compliance and Haleigh found herself once again inside the immense, victorian estate.>>

(pardon the horrid music LOL it was the best clip i could find)

<< as Haleigh moves through the simulation, it becomes clear that this place is FAR MORE than what it seems from any outside photo Haleigh could have contained...there was an immense, haunting lonliness to it...the same stagnant feeling was there...as if the LIFE had been drained from it long ago...and that was UNUSUAL for what shouldve been a mere simulation. there were no signs of Sharon or anything ELSE...but some rooms looked a bit ransacked, while other rooms looked "out of place" with the decor of the mansion. there were old papers...it generally looked like most places she saw any evidence of occupation had been long abandonned. >>

<< what was more unusual, the secret lower levels...the technological catacombs, the immense water tanks, the labs....what kind of PLACE was this? what did it mean to Sharon? and WHAT did Alycia know about it? Why was she hiding it from them after everything else they all knew about EACH OTHER? the Arklay Mansion lay in a mountain range over looking the same lush forest that Sharon's cottage was come to find out....the mountain range itself was called "Arklay" .WHY hadnt anyone noticed this before? curious>>

<< Haleigh had to speak to Alycia...and with seeing this place....it was OBVIOUS there was an immense back story to it. Even Haleigh didnt know MUCH about Sharon prior to her becoming a senator, except the public knowledge that her husband and son had been murdered by MysTech.>>

across town from Illustra

<< this mysterious man, Bishop, sat with a relaxed confidence at his desk, looking over startling and disturbing images of past and present members of the six at their worst moments. what was most disturbing was that many of these moments had been THOUGHT to be covered up by Alycia! but HE was clearly someone who was NOT so easily dissuaded from the TRUTH.>>

<< he made a bold move against Delilah this evening, pulling the rug out from under her and killing her suspect cold. his methods, while ultimately effective, CONFLICTED with what Delilah believed to be proper procedure..what "THE LAW" dictated.>>

<< this dark man of mystery was JUST getting started and his final gaze lay on Sharon Kelly, in her new aspect as The Silver Swan as well as her time with her husband Robert and young son Kyle.>>

<< the night was just beginning and so were Bishop's own plans.>>

NYPD

<< Delilah Trelevan, a woman of courage and tenacity, seems to be faltering in thought at the moment, the mysterious man in black tripped her up more than a little and now, she's doing a massive systems search for him. but more than that....his words linger in her mind. were his methods more effective than her's? she'd often questioned the methods of Alison and Morgan before when they were facing super natural threats...she was their dear friend but they differed on some deeper levels when it came to character...not that anyone was BETTER....just that Delilah seemed to have a stronger moral convictions than Morgan or Alison.>>

<< Still, this man in black was both infuriating and intriguing at once, his EYES looking through her, his resolve even in defiance of her authority...who was he? HOW DARE HE?>>

<< true to form, Delilah pressed on after sending her team home, seeing what, if anything she could find, UNAWARE that HE had already found QUITE A BIT on her friends and allies, the Six and Alycia.>>

personal endeavors

<< upon getting the greenlight from Morgan, Ava expidited the signature and completion of the contracts, sealing the deal for Cassadine Industries to supply Alycia's department within the committee of super human affairs with state of the art technology, hardware and other accessories. what better way to cap off such a success than with dinner out on the town with a man whom she'd come to enjoy the company of lately, James, from the mini concert/gala. But Ava would find that James wasnt the only company she'd be keeping this evening.>>

NYC- the brownstone

:: Sharon listened to the young man. How far he had come in life. She remembered him as a young boy..bright eyed, full of energy and courage and even then, he was a young gentleman. to see him NOW...it brought forth a flicker of the maternal feeling she had once felt for him before ...before the way she is now. his words were thoughtfull and insightfull and she allowed herself to rest in them for now.::

:: he was right after all...mystech HAD miscalculated...they didnt count on her own humanity resurfacing and allowing her to TRIUMPH over Rick Riley and helping to destroy him...thereby winning her own freedom. she'd taken the first crucial step to making a new life inspite of being the Silver Swan...andnow it was time to let her friends, the people she'd often advocated for, help HER. she HAD to trust them...now more than ever.::

[She was lead by the hand, by nicolas, into a large, cool storage unit, where she IMMEDIATELY sensed the presence of large avians. one of her powers...telepathic control over all species of birds...]

Nicolas said:
It took a lot of time to find them, and I want you to have them. With your abilities, you can care for them and understand them like no other. You see, these two are interbred with Golden Eagles and are going to be HUGE. But they are immature, powerful, and difficult to handle. The reason I believe, is that whoever made these two failed to realize that Golden Eagles and Gyrfalcons are natural ENEMIES, like you and Mystech were. It is like they are uncomfortable in their own skin, battling conflicting natures much like YOU are. But I believe that you and they will get along just fine, and together you will help each other through this. They are young and need LOTS of love, but I can feel that you have that in your heart to give. Please accept them. And excuse the coldness of the room, these birds prefer a bit cooler environment to rest.

Nicolas held out his hand, gesturing for Sharon to get closer to her two new "children".

...

:: Sharon felt an immediate telepathic rapport with the birds...sensing their uncertainty and distress...::

nicolas.....they're beautifull!!

:: as he held out his hand, Sharon slowly stepped forward to the two large Gryfalcons...even the color of their plumage was exotic...a true silver hue....::

:: one of them glared at Sharon but she was unphased as she held out her own silver armor covered hand.::

don't be afraid....

:: the gryfalcon lowered its head and allowed Sharon to gently stroke it...as it made a soft noise.::

yes...that's it....

:: watching her establish contact with the birds was amazing...an aspect of her power that Nicolas had seen when used for VIOLENCE...but in this moment it really WAS like a mother comforting her long lost "children"::

would you like to stay with me? We can help each other....

:: the gryfalcons moved closer to sharon as she comforted them. Nicolas' gift was perfect.::

Nicolas....thank you....for these beautifull birds.

:: she moved away from them after a few moments and toward Nicolas.::

When i met you...years ago...you were such a beautifull, sweet young boy. your father...he was ALWAYS so proud of you. I wish i could have introduced you to MY son..but he was already gone by then. I watched you grow, and i knew you would do your father proud.....and you have....

i want to....thank you....for all youve done for me since my return from the dead....i feel SO ASHAMED sometimes...but youve helped me so much....

:: in a moment of humanity and emotion, Sharon hugs her "would be" surrogate son....as tears fall from her silver eyes.::

you make me feel....a little more human with your kindness...

:: as she hugged Nicolas, he could feel the coldness of the body armour she wore. the thunder could be heard rolling across the night sky as well.::

:: Exiting the limo, provided to her by James, Ava was helped out by the driver to have paparrazi swarm around her and begin to take pictures. Word began to spread like wildfire that Ava and James were meeting more frequently since the gala a couple weeks ago. Tabloids had already printed that she was a homewrecker and how his fiance was devestated and hurt by James' 'cheating'. Trashy stories by trashy newspapers. The fact remained that Ava and James were strictly friends. Although Ava very much desired to move their relationship to the next level as it was many years ago, she wouldn't put James in that situation, nor would she ever become 'the other woman'. ::

:: Walking into the Parthenon's main lobby, Ava removed her shoulder wrap and handed it to the coat check station. Wearing a gorgeous Michael Korrs black knee length dress, the back of the dress plunged dangerously to her lower back, explosing her sculpted frame. Thin spagetti straps were all that held the garmet onto the goddess frame, dripping fairly low in the front as well, exposing a respectable amount of clevage. With her long hair bone straight and parted to the side, and her makeup subtle but glamorous, Ava made her way into the Parthenon's resturant. ::

:: Spotting James right away, his striking blue eyes were hard to miss. Giving him a smile as she made her way to his table, he stood from his seat looking rather taken aback at the sight of her. "Ava, you look amazing." Reaching for her hand, they both gave each other a cheek to cheek kiss before he finally pulled Ava's chair out for her, offering her a seat. ::

"Thank you, James. You look handsome as always."

:: Sitting down, James rounded the table and took a seat as well. "I'm glad you could meet with me tonight." James started as the waiter approached the table and poured them both some wine. Picking up her glass, Ava took a sip. "Of course, you know I enjoy your company." But something seemed a bit odd about James tonight...and Ava didn't have to be a precog to pick that up. Placing her glass down on the table, she narrowed her eyes a bit, studying his facial expression. "Is something wrong?" Avoiding the question as best he could, James laughed off Ava's concern trying to assure her everything was fine. "Of course, everythings fine. I'm having dinner with a beautiful woman, what more could a guy ask for?" Shaking her head, Ava picked up her glass of wine, obviously not buying it. "You were a bad liar when we were kids, and you're a bad liar now." Sighing out, James leaned forward, lowering his voice. "Could we not do this now?" "Do what? I asked you a simple question, James, i'm not here to argue with you. If you would rather not tell me what's wrong, then don't. You know i'm not one to pry." Shaking his head, James closed her eyes for a moment, trying to collect his thoughts. "Ava, I asked you here for a reason, tonight....Kate left me.." Parting her mouth in shock, Ava reached forward taking James' hand. "Oh my God...James, i'm so sorry. Why? What happened?" Realizing it could be because of her, Ava's expression changed as she lowered her voice trying not to draw attention to them. "Please tell me it's not because of me..." Shaking his head, James looked up at Ava. "It had everything to do with you.." ::

New Beginning...

As Sharon looked upon the falcons, Nicolas saw her eyes light up. It was the reaction he had hoped for. Sharon was a DOER. She NEEDED something to care for, to be responsible for. This pair, although a bit reluctantly at first, definitely fit the bill. She had them cooing in no time and Nicolas was struck at how a power he had seen lay low a GODDESS from miles away also could do so much for a pair of disressed creatures. He even wondered if her rapport was defined enough that he could use it to communictae with her himself. It was the scientist in him coming out.

Suddenly, she HUGGED him. Tears welled in his eyes as he felt a warmth from her heart that belied the coldness of her metallic armor. He hugged her back tightly, kissing her forehead as an adult son might. This was a situation in which her invulnerability came in handy as he forgot all about his strength, focusing instead on the kind lady who made his fathers eyes shine.

They stayed that way for a long time, then Nicolas turned to the Gyrfalcons again, his arm around Sharon's shoulders. The hunters eyed him intently, seeming to understand that their new Mommy was in no danger, but willing to still posture in case Nicolas forgot his place. He laughed softly and spoke to Sharon, his eyes still on the raptors.

You know what? They need names. Something tough I would imagine. It was difficult, but I resisted the urge to name them myself. So, who are they Sharon? Or will I have to wait?

Silver Swan and her new allies

:: in that moment, it didnt matter how big or tall Nicolas had gotten, there was a flash of feeling...of humanity that Sharon had thought she forgot. The young boy had grown up to be a good young man. The feeling of HUMANITY made Sharon a little light headed at the moment, she was still adjusting to so much and it was only nutural to still feel internal conflict.::

:: as Nicolas stood behind her with his hand on her shoulder, she looked at her new "children"...sensing their alertness and speaking to them on a telepathic level as she reassured them and calmed them still...they made small vocalizations indicating they were fine...and she gently petted each one with one of her armoured hands.::

yes...that's right...you'll be here with me and i'll be your new mommy. we'll find our way together.

:: her cold and haunting voice sounded a bit more soothed as the birds closed their eyes a bit, warming to the touch of the Silver Swan.::

what would you like to be called? something unusual and pretty?

:: the birds seemed to listen as she spoke to them on a telepathic level::

I will call you Artemis....:: and looking to the other:: and I will call you Antiope...

:: In her former life, Sharon had long been a fan of the Amazons and mythology, though she was friends with the six she had not been alive to see or know about their adventures with the gods/goddesses of antiquity.::

:: not looking back, she asked Nicolas::

what do you think?

They seem to like it...

:: the two large gryfalcons seemed very content at the moment as Sharon continued to pet each one of them.::

back in NYC

:: it was raining now...a summer night's storm. not overly severe, not enough to bring the night life to a halt. still, most people would prefer to keep out the rain anyway they could.::

:: A cloaked figure moves with fluent grace down the side walk and through the revolving doors of the Parthenon's foyer. once inside, SHE removes her hooded cape and reveals herself to be none other than ALISON MARBLE! returned to NYC for the first time in months since the dawn of the red moon!::

:: her blue/black hair was longer now...with subtle AUBURN highlights to give it and her face a slightly warmer look. Alison looked as beautifull as ever but in a different way. not nearly as SEVERE...but hardly to be mistaken for "soft". Life in Greece had obviously agreed with her.::

:: she looked around for a moment, taking in the scene, the Parthenon was carrying on fine without her and she already knew Alycia was here but she would not go to see her now. instead she would find Ava and James in the 5 star restaurant off to the left of the marble foyer.::

:: wearing a low cut, blue corsett top and a black mini skirt with black high heels, Alison still dressed with an edge that would make Morgan proud. the host attempted to intercept her as she strode in but upon closer inspection, he realized who she was and backed off..instead, SCRAMBLING to find her a table for one which happened to be along a window looking out on the street and in plain view of AVA , which James' back facing her.::

:: it would take Ava a few moments to realize it was HER, but Alison already knew ava was here. Alison had returned to NYC and was soon to be reunited with the Six....but it wasnt ALL for the best of reasons.::

:: upon being seated, she was brought a drink promptly and once the server turned his back, she touched the glass and with a soft "ting"...the drink transformed into her trademark favorite....HEMLOCK.::

:: as the thunder rolled outside in the night sky and the winds whistled a bit. Alison slowly sipped her drink, before her cobalt blue eyes fixed on Ava from across the way, watching her interact with James.::

Nicolas listened as she named the two birds. One a goddess, one an Amazonian queen and wife to Theseus. They seemed quite appropriate and Nicolas chimed in at her question.

Beautiful names. I hope that they will live up to them. If you like, we can go tomorrow to the docks, take the boat out a bit and let them get some exercise. I also have all of their treatment records, food, and your licenses for them whenever you are ready. They have had enough food for a couple of days already. I will leave you with them and see you tomorrow.

Nicolas turns to show himself out...

[ Delilah pulled up the collar of her black cropped jacked against the rain that was now pouring down from the summer night sky. She had been out here several hours, tracking down her most reliable snitches. It had turned out that there were quite a few unexplained homicides, and even more surprising had been the number of reports of a mysterious assailant that quite closely matched her man in black. Because of the shady nature of the murder victims, however, the investigations hadn't been given much priority. She had taken her investigation out to the streets, hoping someone, somewhere, would talk.

She walked into a seedy looking building and knocked on the door of a first floor apartment. The door opened a crack and Delilah caught glimpse of one beady eye and a dirty hand. The hand quickly moved to pushed the door closed again but Delilah kicked it inwards, hitting the apartment's occupent square in the face and forcing him to back up into the room. She shut the door behind her. ]

"Jesus, Trelaven, why'd you have to go and do that for?!"

"How's it going Willy?"

[ Willy was rubbing his bruised forehead with one hand and wiping his runny nose with the other. ]

"Oh you know, staying out of trouble. For real this time. Keeping my nose clean."

"Hmm. I can see that."

[ She crossed her arms and walked towards the dingy window. ]

"What do you know about a guy who likes to bump off the bad guys. Talk, dark and handsome type. Real stealthy. Just did Bobby McNally."

[ She turned her head back to look at Willy's face as she asked, and his face was now filled with horror. ]

"I don't know nothing about nobody like that."

[ She was across the room in seconds and had him pinned to the wall by the neck with her forearm. ]

"Don't make me ask again Willy."

[ She could tell he was thinking it over, could almost see his brain weighing whether she or the mystery man would be worse to cross. He finally came to a decision, but this time when he spoke it was a whisper. And not just from lack of oxygen. ]

"Okay, okay. There's this guy I heard of. Never seen him myself, but...likes to take out mob-types. Killers mostly. They say he can get in anywhere, take down anyone. Some of the guys are real scared of him. Call him "The Bishop", because he makes you pay for your sins..."

[ She gave him a look that said "come on". He held up his hands. ]

"I swear, I'm telling you the truth."

[ Delilah let him go. She wasn't so sure she believed Willy's picture of her stranger, but at least it was a start. And now she had a name. Well, sort of. Bishop.

Finally feeling that she was getting somewhere, she headed back out into the rain. But for some reason, she didn't mind it so much. ]

night time thought

:: Sharon settled her new "children" down for the evening, ensuring they would rest well in their new home. ::

:: as bid them goodnight and closed the door, she made her way along and thought about the immediate future. What would she do? could she become a protector of the innocent and defender of the weak? could she REALLY use her power to do what she couldnt before even as a senator? with her new pets and with the proper training, perhaps "Silver Swan" could become a force of good.::

:: she wasnt sure at the moment.....but the more she thought about it, the idea of being billed as a "bird of prey" seemed more appealing to her.::

:: she looked out of a window as the rains fell....and thought of her husband and son again...wondering what they would say...wondering if ever since that fatefull night she and her family were invited to the Arklay Mansion for that ruse of a "dinner" was she PRE DESTINED to be blighted and hounded by MysTech? well....if that WAS the case...they made a GRAVE mistake turning her into THIS...She may have BEGAN her life as Silver Swan on a terrifying note....but as Ororo once said....CREATION IS BUT THE FIRST STEP....and even a MISSTEP can sometimes lead to a brave and bold new world.::

::many people lost their lives while Sharon was held in the thrall of MysTech...and she would NEVER truly get past that...but for the first time, this night she DARED to think that she MIGHT just MAKE IT THROUGH after all.::

:: thunder crashes and lightening flashes and she stands, motionless, looking out of the window....everything she sees she has seen before...but somehow it all seems NEW to her again.::

:: she has no idea that a ripple effect from her new state of being is brewing in the same city as she...not too far away.::

[ Delilah returned to Illustra, feeling more upbeat than earlier in the day. She rode the elevator up to her floor, thinking about Bishop. She wasn't a profiler by training by any means, but she kept thinking about the why of him. Why was he committing these heinous crimes? What had happened to him to make him this way? She was still lost in thought as she reached her floor and walked to her door.

She walked into the entryway and threw her car keys on the hall table. She hadn't realized how tired she was until now she was home. But then she realized that something wasn't right. She sensed something...something off. She pulled her Browning Hi-Power and held it low with two hands as she crept silently into the dark living room.

Lightning flashed from the storm that raged outside, illuminating a figure seated in the leather armchair. ]

"Don't. Move."

[ Delilah trained her weapon at the intruder's chest. ]

Bishop’s eyes raised to meet her’s. His voice was low, gruff. Exactly the way he looked.

“Usually they like it when I do, darlin’.”

Then he smiled – very arrogant and nonchalant for someone with a gun aimed at him. But he didn’t have anything to lose – nothing so small as a handgun was going to worry him.

[ Delilah rolled her eyes in spite of herself. Didn’t this guy know that he should be afraid, that she could kill him with just a squeeze of her hand (not to mention, if she chose to go MorningStar on his ass). She tilted her head to avoid the gun sight as she talked. ]

“Why are you here?”

[ Bishop’s face went blank, now totally serious. ]

“Stop looking for me.”

[ Delilah stifled a laugh. A pretty ridiculous request considering he was sitting in her living room. ]

“How do you know I won’t shoot you right now? Bishop.”

He laughed, a low rumble from his chest.

“Call me Connor.”

[ No, seriously, who did this guy this he was? ]

“Don’t believe me? I will pull this trigger.”

He smiled again, amused once more. He shook his head as he stood up. He took a few steps forward, so that now he was inches from her outstretched gun. He looked right into her eyes.

“No, you won’t.”

She was uncomfortable at his closeness, but couldn’t seem to function enough to take a step back. Even to her, she sounded like a little girl when she responded.

“Why won’t I?”

“Because somewhere, deep down inside, you know I’m right.”

Delilah was clearly taken aback at this statement. Connor paused for a moment, almost as if he was thinking about it, then turned his back to her and moved to look out the floor-to-ceiling windows at the storm.

“If you were going to shoot me, you’d have done it when I tapped McNally.”

He was silent for a few seconds, then turned his head back to her as he spoke.

“Nice digs you have here, for a cop.”

[ Delilah lowered her gun. It certainly wasn’t getting her anywhere, and her arms were getting tired of holding it up. She holstered it, and crossed her arms in front of her, now slightly perturbed. ]

“Thanks.”

[ The sarcasm would not be lost on him. ]

“You can’t possibly think you’re in the right in all this. I saw you murder a man today.”

[ He nodded slowly, still looking outside. It was as if the weight of it was sinking in. The amusement was once again gone from his voice. ]

“I murdered a murderer. I did what was necessary.”

[ God, he was frustrating.]

“But we were there to arrest him! He was GOING to JAIL. There was no need-"

Bishop interrupted her before she could continue.

“Come on, Detective. You know how it works. How many killers have you seen walk over your years on the force? Don’t tell me it’s never crossed your mind, how easy it would be? A perp gets shot resisting arrest, he falls on his own booby trap, he gets the wrong end of his weapon. So easy to make sure that murderer can never hurt anyone ever again.”

He turned and looked at her now. She didn’t exactly know what to say.

“But that’s not how we do things in this country. The system’s not perfect, but it’s there for a reason. You can’t just go around killing people…”

“I give their families peace. I do what they can’t, I give them what the police can’t. I give them justice.”

Delilah scoffed. “No, I give them justice. You give them revenge.”

He raised an eyebrow.

“Same thing.”

“And this is so easy for you, so black and white? An eye for an eye, just go out an kill someone? Just like that?”

[ He looked almost angry now, but definitely injured. ]

“No. Not easy. But I do it, so that others don’t have to. I take full responsibility for my crimes. My soul is black, I am going to Hell, I have no ideas otherwise. But I am needed in this world. And I will continue to rid this world of murderers until I am no longer needed.”

[ Delilah just shook her head in exasperation. He really believed in what he was doing. To hear him tell it, it almost didn’t seem so bad. But Delilah believed in her job, in the process. That even criminals deserved a fair trial under the law.

Bishop walked slowly to her again, without the gun being able to get right into her face. He looked her straight in the eyes again for a moment before whispering in her ear. ]

“I’ll let you do your job, you let me do mine.”

[ He pulled her roughly towards him then, and kissed her quickly and hard on the mouth. Before she could protest or even react, he was out the door and gone.

Delilah let out a deep breath, and plopped herself down on her couch. She covered her face with a pillow. She was definitely getting too old for this. ]

:: Things were slowly going down hill as Ava listened to James explain that Kate knew he still had feelings for her. It was hard to hear because she too, still had feelings for James. She always had. But Ava's life was far more complicated than it had been when they were young adults. She wasn't "fully" Ava, she was merged with power weilding goddess, she saved the world on a daily freakin' basis, and aside from her usual wonderful attributes, James was better off being with Kate. ::

"James, we can never be together. I'm stubborn and selfish...and high maintenance. I have a completely different life now that you know nothing about. You can't just drop everything because we've had a few good weeks together. You're in love with Kate; you got engaged to her for godsakes."

:: Sighing out, Ava sat back, putting distance between the two of them. ::

"Ava, please, just listen to me."

:: Shaking her head, regardless of what Ava was personally feeling in the matter, she refused to bring James into her lifestyle. People died who were involved in the six...people changed, and she didn't want that for him. Letting him protest, Ava glanced away from him and across the room, but what she saw was a surprise in itself. ::

"Alison..?"

:: Murmuring under her breath, Ava couldn't believe her eyes. It was Alison, sitting 10 feet away from her. Looking to James, Ava began to stand, prompting him to stand as well. ::

"I'm sorry....I have to go."

:: James grasped for her hand, stopping her. "Ava, don't leave like this." Looking at him, Ava leaned forward and gave him a cheek to cheek kiss before whispering in his ear. ::

"I have to, i'm sorry."

:: Pulling her hand away from his, Ava made her way through the resturant until finally reaching Alison's table. With a small smirk, Ava gave Alison a once over, noting her new look. ::

"I see Greece has been treating you well. How are you, Alison? And what are you doing in New York?"

The Parthenon Restaurant

:: Alison moved as she would have inspite of watching the scene unfold between Ava and James. As Ava made her way over and noted her look, Alison looked at her with a subtle smile (she was never one to smile much as they all knew but it was good to look upon a friendly , familiar face and to be in familiar, secure surroundings. even ALISON had an emotional core.::

Thank you, Ava. I thought i'd try something different with my hair. Pandora helped with the coloring. She is quite the beauty queen, no doubt Aphrodite's influence. You're looking nice yourself. You've adapted well to my old position in Illustra

:: she winked as she motioned for Ava to have a seat. It was clear that though she was gone...she still knew what was going on.::

I'm here because I can be...but more importantly, I came to see about you.. ALL of you.

:: thunder rumbled in the night sky as she spoke, and the rains continued to fall.::

I still have citizenship here...it's though I've never left "officially"...Alycia is helping me with that. In fact she's in a diamond executive suite of the Parthenon's residential tower now...where she will be met by Haleigh shortly for a much needed conversation.

:: Ava might have forgotten just how easy it was for Alison to "see" things...but at this moment, it was like she had never LEFT the six.::

I need to talk to YOU because something's COMING...and our FAMILY is in danger!

:: For Alison, the Harbinger to appear in NYC in SPITE of her destiny...it MUST have been serious and so, Ava's evening went from one of personal indulgence, to one of necessary intrigue and attention.::
