So there's been alot of coverage about Andrew Speaker, the 31 year old attourney who has a deadly, drug resistant and HIGHLY contagious strain of turberculosis. This man was diagnosed and told NOT to fly and yet he chose to do so ANYWAY, taking a trans atlantic flight and putting hundreds of other passengers at risk. This man is now under FEDERAL quarantine and that hasnt happened for DECADES.

Now his name, his face..and his whole life are being put out there by the media and he has the nerve to complain he's being unfairly scrutinized. PERSONALLY, i feel like this many should get PRISON time for what he did. this is right along the lines of a person who is HIV positive and WILLFULLY hides his/her HIV status from a sexual partner while engaging in unprotected sex.

the strain of TB he has is quite deadly and now the CDC (center for disease control) is advising anyone that was in prologned contact with this man..even sitting next to him... to get tested for possible infection. This man is engaged to be married! (which i find bizarre) and his FATHER-IN-LAW, a CDC official is now under investigation by the U.S. government for his link and possible complicity to this man's actions.

Do you feel like this man and/or his father-in-law should be jailed for what he has done? should MORE be done about this?

its a hard choice to make but if this man was diagnosed with such a deadly and viral disease i think even against his will he should have put in a immediate quarantine and keep there for the safety of himself and others.

I think he should be jailed for having done this. He had no pressing business that could not wait and he willfully put others at risk. He is no different than the street thug who shoots up someone's house. he had a deadly weapon, and he wielded it without regard for human life. Period.

i thought i might have been HARSH in thinking he deserved jail time, but i see i'm not alone.

ive been reading subsequen articles and NOW he's trying to excuse his careless behavior and even reiterates that he's "not a threat". how STUPID can he be? because he's a lawyer he thinks he can mouthoff to congress and skirt the rules?

he mentioned the fact that his doctor had a prolonged meeting with him and didnt wear a mask but MY thinking is that...the doctor CHOSE not to wear a mask for whatever reason but HE was still informed and AWARE of the situaiton. the passengers on those flights that were exposed to this man had NO IDEA and that's why there's an international health scare now.

can you imagine how this might be fueling some of the anti amerian sentiment around the globe at this point? that's something going through my head because at first glance of these articles, and this man's quote responses...he seems VERY arrogant AND ignorant.

Working in a law firm I have met some really pompous Attorney’s most of them are men. Most of them feel the need to disregard the rules so much that one of our partners is being sued regarding a criminal matter. Not every Attorney is like that but its almost like they are above the rules and regulations of society.

I personally agree that this moron should have been tossed in a private jail sell, isolating him from others.

thats what he gets. he's being so arrogant and cavlier about it...and for that ALONE he needs to be raked across the coals. he caused an international health scare and wasnt even apologetic for it. he needs to be held accountable for his thoughtless behavior. its not like he DIDNT KNOW what risk he was exposing other people to...and just because those people RECENTLY tested negative for TB doesnt mean they couldnt contract it LATER. TB is an airborne virus.
