Has anyone ever read these comics? The adventures (or misadventures ..depending on how you look at it) of "Katchoo" and her bestfriend/love of her life, "Francine".

this series was touted as "the comic for people who don't read comics". there's no super powers, no outrageous costumes (or figures for that matter) and there is LOST of drama, dark imagery and adult situations.

i've recently read a TPB featuring issues 1 thru 9 which centered around "Katchoo" (Katina Choovanski) returning to Houston TX from Canada following a stint as an exclusive call girl (who serviced rich FEMALE clients). she's being chased by a mob princess and she returns to her best friend (whom she's so in love with)..the frumpy, neurotic but intelligent and brave "Francine" and their hapless male friend "David".

it gets much darker as you read on into the series.

over here, i was able to find copies of the various series in the library so i just checked them out and devoured them. a friend of mine had tried to get me into this book a few years back but i dont know why i didnt take notice of it then.

honestly its a REALLY good comic. its a refreshing change from the dribble that Marvel puts out and its definately something an adult can appreciate.

the relationship between Katchoo and Francine blends and blurs SO MUCH...it kind of reminds me of the movie "threesome" (lara flynn boyle, josh charles and stephen baldwin) .
