I mean to post this awhile back, but I forgot.

A new country singer is making waves in the music world by being openly gay. His songs are definitely country but they are sung from a uniquely gay perspective.

I don't know..I don't think he is the most talented singer out there lol..there is a certain production quality he just doesn't have, but I think that's mostly because I don't think he has a major label representing him.

Listen to some of his songs and let me know what you think! Do you think he has a chance in the world of country?

I really like "Stay". It's really catchy.

But I'm more shocked that you made a thread about a COUNTRY singer. ;) :p

I actually like a LOT of country...I'm not really big into a lot of male country singers because I feel like they have it really easy. They just have to be marginally attractive and a marginally good singer, wear a hat and they make a shit ton of money :p

Some of my favorites would have to be Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, Alison Kraus, I DO love me some OLD School Shania Twain (Everything until her Up! CD LOL) I LOVE Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill, Dixie Chicks, etc.

I don't really have any favorite MALE country singers outside of Tim McGraw...I love him, he is so adorable and I just think he's an all around great guy.

I always look for vocal talent and instrumentation in country singers because I am also a really big fan of simpler folk music...just a guitar, a piano and a voice, so when I listen to country I listen more to the voice...and I can't STAND people like Toby Keith who just make songs that pander to stupid outdated American Ideals/White Trash people LOL.

Knowing the type of community Nashville is and the reaction Chely Wright got when she came out, I don't see him doing very well in the country music industry, simply because he's gay. And that's sad...

His songs are alright, but nothing to write home about for me...
