I know there might be be alot of steppers & hustlers on the board, but I AM! I'm from Detroit & we're VERY serious about it up there  Ppl down here in Nashville & the South do "line dancing"...which is similar to stepping/hustling .

There's lots of classic step/hustle songs, probably the most popular [ in Detroit] is: "My eyes don't cry no more" by Stevie Wonder. But what are some GOOD hustle/step songs out today?? Some ppl have tried stepping to "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke but I am not a fan of that song.

For any one else who does this style of dance, any recommendations for current songs?

Honestly "Blurred Lines" is one of the best ones out. The groove of the song is inspired by "Got to Give it Up' by Marvin Gaye, so it is set up perfectly for stepping/hustling.

"Get Lucky" by Daft Punk is worth your time as well. VERY nice groove for stepping/hustling.

Yeah i know, but Somebody should tell THICKE that. Did you read about how HE is suing the GAYE estate/family b/c they alleged he didn't obtain permission to sample or give proper credit?

The first few times I heard it (before seeing the video) I was good w/ it. But after that video? You know the feminist in me just REALLY couldnt get down w/ it anymore :sure: (& apparently the more widely broadcast version of the video is "TAME" compared to the unedited/uncensored version)

Ill be checking out Get Lucky!

I can see how you might feel that way. But I see three women paid a lot of money to dance in a video while being worshipped by 3 music idols. Point of view I guess. I just am not automatically equating nudity with exploitation.

As for the Marvin Gaye claims, they had to do it because it seemed obvious that his estate was going to sue and they needed to preempt. The key and major/minor it was written in is different, the beat is somewhat similar, you can see the inspiration. But I am not a fan of people with their hands out every time a song gets made that sounds even remotely like your song or in this case, your Daddy's song.

Both songs were produced by Pharrell btw. And the uncut of Blurred lines...ok yeah they are naked. But what is wrong with a little nudity in your music?

Just heard "Lose Yourself to Dance" by Daft Punk and Pharrell. Might be worth a listen. Smooth groove, a bit slower than the two aforementioned but a nice guitar track and beat.
