Have you ever considered relocating to another country?

I've been researching Canada. Being that i'm from Detroit, MI & the detroit/windsor border crossing was only 30 mins away @ best, I traveled to windsor frequently. after bush won re-election in '04, i began doing some research about moving to canada.

since then, ive increased my research & what I learned was very encouraging. Most likely my way in would be a work related visa & b/c of my current & emerging skill sets I'd likely get one based on the official canadian gov't website...but then I learned there might be a problem w/ me bring my two cats along. i love my babies & i'm not about to part w/ them like that.

Aside from the issue of bringing my cats along, Toronto Canada has been looking very good to me & I know two people that have officially relocated to Canada & become expatriots.

I never really thought about permanently living somewhere outside of the United States, however I have always wanted to move to Australia. Despite the fact that I grew up in the north, I can't take the northern temperatures anymore. I'm just acclimated to the southern heat now. BUT, the biggest downfall to Australia is the fact that they have the Huntsman spider and Sydney Funnel Web spider. I can't deal with that shit....I can barely deal with the spiders down here in Florida LOL.

Im considering it, maybe moving to Svalbard, it certainly would have been a different experience, [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Svalbard"]Svalbard - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

Another place i've been thinking of is moving to the northern parts of norway, i have some family up there, and i remember from vacation how beautiful it can be up there.

But i think it would only be for a limited time.
