O’Malley’s to the Sanctuary

Gabe said:
"Oh shit! We're late. [waving Liam] Hey, put the whole thing on my tab. I decided to save the pint she owes me for another time."

Zizi gave Gabe a look.

“I’m not sure you can do that…under the rules of pint debt repayment…”

But she laughed before she could finish ribbing him.

Gabe said:
"Alright m'lady....[Gabe helped her into her chair] Let’s see what other shenanigans are in store for us tonight."

He helped her into her chair, and then began to push her, something she didn’t usually let people do. But it didn’t embarrass her this time for some reason.

Gabe said:
"Hopefully none involving the removal of my balls."

Zizi blushed, but recovered.

“Well, if it does, I have someone I can call to heal you.”

Gabe helped her into the car, and they zoomed off to the Sanctuary. They parked and checked in with the police at the entrance to the compound. They were expected, so were escorted to the door and then left alone. Gabe rang the bell.

“Well, here goes nothing.”

The War Room

Delilah noticed the cold, calculating tone in Morgan’s voice – there was a quality there that she hadn’t seen in her since before she joined the Six. She seemed in control, though, which was a new development for sure. They started to talk about the mysterious red headed woman.

Spellbinder said:
What was interesting to me, is that Persephone seemed content to hide behind her and that barrier! Nothing like the goddess that came to us in the beginning!

“Maybe that should tell us something. Maybe she was holding back. To lull us into a false sense of security. Or…”

She knew she didn’t need to say it, and that it wouldn’t be well received. That maybe she was holding back because she didn’t really want to hurt them.

Spellbinder said:
I'm not sacrificing ANYONE on some idea that we "must save them AT ANY COST." Zach heard what he WANTED to hear...but I was QUITE CLEAR to both him AND Delilah what would happen if Persephone and Black Widow left us no other choice.

She didn’t need to be talked down to like she didn’t understand what was at stake. As if she hadn’t done what needed to be done despite the cost before.

“And *I* said to YOU: we have to defend ourselves and those we protect. No one is saying save them at any cost. There are options to consider, that’s all I’m saying.”

Spellbinder said:
But I'm giving Prophet my full endorsement to use his psi powers to excise the Persephone persona OUT of that body. That may be the only way TO save HER.

“But what will that do to her?”

Especially with Cameron in his current state...would he really care if he destroyed Ava in the process as long as Persephone was taken down?

Spellbinder said:
They've struck at us and our loved ones, and associates with no kind of hesitation or remorse. If the Red Knight or anyone ELSE gets in the way, they can be cut down as well.

“Agreed. Anyone from Hellfire is fair game now. We don’t owe them anything, not anymore.”

Cass stormed in, stomping her feet like a spoiled child, and talking some cutesy family bullshit.

Cass said:
“Don’t flatter yourself. When I said ‘family’, I wasn’t referring to YOU.”

Delilah rolled her eyes.

“Well, why don’t you stop referring to it at all.”

Delilah reassured her that she’d at least been included in the important parts.

Blaze said:
Oh, so you would've taken time out of your daily chanting of "Blaze is a bitch" To respond and SHOW UP?

“I’M not the one who has a problem doing my duty, Blaze.”

And Morgan of course had to pull the “leader” thing.

Spellbinder said:
By remaining, you indicate that you are ready to GET TO WORK.

Delilah waved her hand in the air.

“That’s all I was saying…”

Spellbinder said:
Going forward, EVERYONE is to remain in contact with at least one other member of the team. If you see or are confronted by a Hellfire member, you send out a distress call FIRST, THEN stand your ground. And we're THROUGH discussing HOW to handle Persephone and Black Widow.

WE never discussed it at all.

Spellbinder said:
We'll TRY to capture them, but if they make it impossible for us...then SO BE IT.

“Alright. But let’s just make sure we actually try, yeah?”

CJ had to bring the conversation back to herself, as usual, talking about her ex from the Hellfire Club she had just run in to.

CJ said:
“We fought…he sent me crashing into the wall of the cathedral and then I…drained him. Not enough to kill him, but enough to cause him great pain.”

“That would have been a good time to call one of us – and we could have finished the job for you.”

Delilah wouldn’t suggest that she kill him herself, but it was a Hellfire Club member, who blatantly told her that Hellfire was using him against her, and then fought her.

CJ said:
“So I may need round-the-clock protection.”

“Morgan just said to keep in contact with someone else from the team. But we are not security guards or a babysitting service. Can we please get back to the real issue at hand?”

Seriously, what were they doing with this girl? She obviously couldn’t handle herself. They were just wasting time. She turned to Morgan.

"How is your plan coming?"

Delilah held up her hand.

"You don't have to tell us what it is, but does it look promising?"

The Red Knight’s Quarters

Seph took his hand and wrapped it around her.

Seph said:
"Relationships with parents are a strange thing. You hate them one minute...then crave their love and approval the next. Regardless of how you felt about your mother and what you wish you could of had with her, YOU created the life you have now. You're successful and powerful and feared. And loved..."

For a split second, his heart leapt.

Seph said:
"...by Helena."

Only for it to come crashing back down. There was a time when her love was all he had wanted, and everything he did was to attain it. And he did love her like she was his own mother. MORE, in truth. The mother he should have had. But it was like history repeating itself. Just like his own mother, Helena didn’t love him enough to want to see him happy, to allow him to be with the woman he cared about. Instead she was going to kill Persephone, and force him to hate Helena in the process.

Seph turned to face him.

Seph said:
"Like I said, it's The Butterfly Effect. Would you be here now if what happened in the past didn't happen?"

“Probably not. But I’d be the handsomest sheep farmer in Scandinavia.”

He grinned at her, and she kissed him, wrapping her arms around his neck.

Seph said:
"Ready to get out? Order some dessert--watch a movie. Just...relax."

“Dessert sounds wonderful. Where do you want to order from?”

His hand slid to her bottom with a smirk.

“I’m not sure how long we’ll be able to relax…but let’s give it a shot.”

Alek stood and stepped out of the tub, keeping hold of Seph’s hand, and then helped her out as well. He wrapped a towel around his waist before getting one for her, opening it and pulling it around her shoulders and gently drying her off. Gripping both edges of the towel he pulled her into him for a long kiss. He pulled a clean robe off the shelf for her, then led her back out into the main living space.

"You pick the movie."

this is the first time I've read him having an possible variance on Helena. I feel some sympathy for him in this moment.
The Sanctuary- Rose's brownstone

They were expected, so were escorted to the door and then left alone. Gabe rang the bell.

“Well, here goes nothing.”

<< Soon, the door of the brownstone opened, and there stood Rose. She was taller in person, with Gabe only being "JUST" a bit taller than she.>>

<< The woman's purple hair flowed, even though there was no wind around her, and she smiled warmly at Oracle and Gabe.>>

Good evening, do come in.

<< She said as she stands to the side to allow Gabe and Oracle to enter.>>

<< This was Oracle's first time inside of Rose's actual house. There was a distinct "old world" feel to the place. It was dark, but warm, comforting, and the smell of fine italian food wafted through the air. >>

I welcome you both to my home, and I look forward to sharing a meal with you this evening, my way of saying "thank you" for your help!

<< As she lead them through the main floor of the brownstone, the observant Oracle would catch a view of her Parlor, along with her glowing crystal ball and tarot deck on a table near the fireplace. As they moved further in, they would soon hear the soft chatter of those already gathered in the dining room. There was a space prepared for Oracle, and one for Gabe as well.>>

Alycia: Hi, Zizi!

Several trays of hand made hors d'oeuvres are ready, please help yourselves.

Would you like some wine?

<< She asked them both as she helped Zizi.>>

<< She stood before them all.>>

Elizabeth, Gabe, meet Rae and Danny, my very dear friends. Gabe, I believe you've already met Xavier, this is Alycia Barnett, my legal counsel.

<< there was a soft mew down near the floor>>

And this...<< smiling at her beloved pet>> is my feline companion, Sable.

Dinner will be served shortly.

<< and with that, Rose disappeared through a door leading to the kitchen, leaving the assembled guests to chat, and enjoy the wine and hors d'oeuvres>>

This was threatening to derail. Blaze and Delilah seeped disdain for one another and then Cassandra came in, angry at being left out of everything...no...horny as all hell, exhilarated from feeding and deflecting from a near-tryst with...a low level Inner Circle guy...oh, so THIS is Ben. Delilah was not having her mouth and, finally, Spell demanded order. Nicolas sighed and then relaxed.

That is my question as well. And I was a bit out of line just now. It's just, we have to acknowledge that we went half speed just now. Sloppy. And its because we care about them. And it's gonna get someone killed. I mean, even Cameron, who...what the fuck happened to you?!

Entire train of thought. GONE. Cam was missing a part of his mental/emotional SELF. Nicolas could not determine exactly what it was without invasive probing, but he was concerned. He stood quickly and spoke with force to Cameron, coming closer, his eyes searching for any clue of answer to him. And he got it. He knew. His mouth fell open.

Oh SHIT. YOU did this to YOURSELF?! CAM!! What did you tear out? And it is TORN, I can sense it. It has been smoothed after the fact...did you work on it Morgan? What would make you risk your own mind in this way, Cameron?!

Nicolas wanted answers, and he wanted them now. This was what he was most afraid of...

They finally arrived at The Sanctuary. It felt a lot bigger in person than in the schematics.

Zizi: "Well, here goes nothing."

He let his eyes wander around a moment.

"Ch ch ch ch ch ca ca ca ca ca....."

Gabe couldn't help but laugh. Friday the 13th, The Sanctuary....yeah, it had a pretty good ring to it.

"Sorry, sorry. Okay, i'm good."

He rang the door bell and after a few moments Rose answered.

Rose: "Good evening, do come in."

He stood to the side and allowed Zizi to enter first before finally entering himself. Looking around the place looked like a mausoleum, minus the dust and cobwebs.

"Thanks you..."

But he smelled garlic bread and all was good in the world. He finally turned to Rose and extended his hand out to properly greet her.

Rose: "I welcome you both to my home, and I look forward to sharing a meal with you this evening, my way of saying "thank you" for your help!"

"It's a pleasure, Rose. Thank you for the invitation tonight. My men should be here in about ten minutes to take a look around the perimeter and do some assessments. They won't be too long--should be gone before we start dinner."

Rose began to escort them toward the dining room. Gabe noted the tarot cards and crystal ball. Lifting an eyebrow, now that was a conversation starter. Finally they entered the dining room only to be greeted by Alycia Barnett. Yeah, Gabe knew of Alycia....she was the one that killed Stavros Cassadine with a golf club no less. Good thing Rose didn't look like the golfing type.

Rose: "Several trays of hand made hors d'oeuvres are ready, please help yourselves. Would you like some wine?"

"Most definitely."

Hard liquor sounded more appealing, but wine worked.

Rose: "Elizabeth, Gabe, meet Rae and Danny, my very dear friends. Gabe, I believe you've already met Xavier, this is Alycia Barnett, my legal counsel."

"Nice to meet you... [giving Xavier a smile] Again. [he looked at Alycia and nodded] Ms. Barnett. Your reputation proceeds you."

He wondered if she yelled 'fore' before knocking Stavros out the 100th story window. Okay, he really needed that wine now.

From Rose to Alycia, he's just out of order! LOL
Alek: “Dessert sounds wonderful. Where do you want to order from?”

"Anywhere that has chocolate mousse."

He slid his hands under her ass and Persephone grinned.

Alek: “I’m not sure how long we’ll be able to relax…but let’s give it a shot.”

Letting out a small laugh, he definitely was a man with endurance that was for sure. Climbing off his lap, both she and Alek stood from the tub, Alek climbing out first before helping her out. He wrapped a towel around her body and pulled her into him using the towel as leverage. Smiling as she kissed him, her body relaxed instantly at the feeling of his lips on hers. Persephone broke the kiss, her face staying close to his.

"Thank you for the bath. I needed it."

Alek then took one of his robes and wrapped her in it before they made their way back into the main living space of his room.

Alek: "You pick the movie."

Climbing onto the couch nearest the roaring fireplace, Persephone tucked her legs behind her and flipped on the television. Scanning through the various movies, she decided on The Thing from Another World, an old 1951 horror movie. Pulling the robe closer around herself, she curled up comfortably as the classic old school score began to play.

Gabe said:
"Ch ch ch ch ch ca ca ca ca ca....."

Zizi smacked him on the arm.

“Not funny.”

Gabe said:
"Sorry, sorry. Okay, I'm good."

Zizi’s stern look melted into an amused smile. It was a little funny.

Gabe rang the bell, and Rose answered, her hair flowing and her stature such that she would be imposing were it not for the warm and friendly smile she gave the two of them.

Rose said:
Good evening, do come in. I welcome you both to my home, and I look forward to sharing a meal with you this evening, my way of saying "thank you" for your help!

Gabe thanked her, and also let her know that his team would be arriving to work on the security system.

“Yes, thank you for inviting us, Rose. It’s very nice to finally meet in person.”

Zizi came further into the comfortably furnished home.

“Dinner smells wonderful.”

As she followed Rose, she noticed a parlor with some otherworldly accent pieces. She caught Gabe eyeing them, and pinched his arm. They entered the dining room, and Zizi saw that Rose had thoughtfully already removed the chair at one of the places for her.

Alycia said:
Hi, Zizi!

Zizi smiled at her.

“Alycia, it’s good to see you looking so well.”

Rose said:
Several trays of hand made hors d'oeuvres are ready, please help yourselves. Would you like some wine?

“Everything looks fantastic. And yes, please, I would love a glass of wine, thank you.”

Rose said:
Elizabeth, Gabe, meet Rae and Danny, my very dear friends. Gabe, I believe you've already met Xavier, this is Alycia Barnett, my legal counsel.

Zizi nodded to Rae and Danny, and waved to Xavier.

Danny…Citadel…finally we meet.

“Nice to meet you. And please, call me Zizi – everyone does.”

She smiled, her eyes lighting up as Rose introduced her cat.

“Yes, we’ve already met.”

Zizi reached down to scratch behind Sable’s ears. Rose left then to finish cooking, leaving them to chat.

“So, Rae, Danny, how do you know Rose?”

Might as well get the ball rolling…and get some information as well.

The Parthenon- The War Room 2

Delilah waved her hand in the air.

“That’s all I was saying…”

<< She eyed Delilah for a moment. She didn't want to hear another word about this somehow being Blaze's fault, or that Blaze did something to spite her. Not one more word! Then she looked at Cass, ooh did SHE have a lot of nerve, coming in here the way she did!? But thankfully the girl settled herself a bit, which is the only reason why Morgan didn't give her a good DRAGGING just now.>>

<< Spellbinder made it clear that what the general strategy was, and that it was time to move on.>>

“Alright. But let’s just make sure we actually try, yeah?”

As long as it doesn't put you, or anyone else at unnecessary risk, certainly! But you've seen what they'll do if given an inch...

<< Ruby revealed more information about her whereabouts, and it was good for her that she chose to do so, instead of attempting to LIE in the presence of two telepaths. But it drew looks of disapproval from Spelbinder AND Firebird to hear the truth.>>

Firebird: Oh i see. So while we're battling against our enemies in the Hellfire Club who have hurt our friends, you know the ones you can't BARE the thought of hurting even though they've not only hurt, but almost killed several of OUR loved ones, YOU decided to go tip toeing through the tulips with a member of the inner circle!?

Cassandra came in, angry at being left out of everything...no...horny as all hell, exhilarated from feeding and deflecting from a near-tryst with...a low level Inner Circle guy...oh, so THIS is Ben.

“That would have been a good time to call one of us – and we could have finished the job for you.”

Ruby, I understand that everyone has a past, and that relationships can add....<< glancing at Delilah>> complexity. I've not always shown the proper regard for that before, but lessons learned. However, that does not negate the clearly BAD CHOICE you made. If ANYONE should've been contacting someone, it should've been YOU.

You've already made yourself look like a tactical risk due to your inability to see Presephone and Black Widow for the enemies that they ARE right now. This "Ben" person is a member of the Inner Circle, who did you THINK his loyalties were going to lie with if push comes to shove? YOU are lucky he didn't capture you and drag you to the waiting clutches of the Black Queen!

Ruby said:
So I may need round-the-clock protection.

<< Spellbinder looked at Ruby for a moment....studying her intently. Did she KNOW what the stakes were here!? Morgan understood the need to protect each other, but EVERYONE had to have some sense that they could at LEAST DEFEND THEMSELVES with their own abilities!>>

<< Nicolas, Blaze and Cameron could all see the look on Morgan's face. Ruby had never dealt with SPELLBINDER actively leading the Six before...>>

“Morgan just said to keep in contact with someone else from the team. But we are not security guards or a babysitting service. Can we please get back to the real issue at hand?”

<< She finally broke her gaze, and looked at Delilah for a moment, before returning back to Ruby.>>

Ruby, I want to see you later....one on one. Until that happens, you'll REMAIN HERE in the Parthenon where it's relatively safe, is that clear?

"How is your plan coming?"

Delilah held up her hand.

"You don't have to tell us what it is, but does it look promising?"

That is my question as well.

Well, it should bring the two of you some relief to know that my exploratory mission, which included an encounter with Haleigh in Limbo, where I TESTED HER, leads me to believe that she will not have to be killed, she CAN be rescued.

After that? I visited Harbinger. We've narrowed things down to three options that she "sees" having the greatest success AND survival rate for us. So the plan is progressing. When it's time to take action, I'll gather everyone together, and that's part of why I want everyone to stay in contact, and stay close at hand!

And I was a bit out of line just now.

I don't think you were. If you'd seen the aftermath of what happened to Zach and Alycia, you wouldn't feel that way either.

It's just, we have to acknowledge that we went half speed just now. Sloppy. And its because we care about them. And it's gonna get someone killed. I mean, even Cameron, who...what the fuck happened to you?!

<< Spellbinder frowned a bit, and turned to Cameron. She had a feeling she knew what this was, she mentioned it to Delilah at Charope.>>

No, I haven't performed any magicks on Cameron. Maybe my mom, or Isis?

But he [Cameron] woudn't be the first among us to resort to drastic measures at one time or another.

<< Still, SOMEONE had to "smooth over" whatever he'd done to himself. THAT was an eye opening detail.>>

But Cameron, we need to know WHO we are dealing with...

Delilah’s eyes widened in surprise.

“You talked to her? What did she say?!”

It was a relief to hear that Morgan thought Haleigh could be rescued, but what had she told her? What were they doing to her in that place?

Spellbinder said:
After that? I visited Harbinger. We've narrowed things down to three options that she "sees" having the greatest success AND survival right for us. So the plan is progressing. When it's time to take action, I'll gather everyone together, and that's part of why I want everyone to stay in contact, and stay close at hand!

Delilah shook her head absently. Again, Morgan and Alison making all the decisions, all the choices. Fall in line or get out. Things hadn’t really changed.

Nicolas said:

“Cameron has done what he needed to do to get through this and be the greatest possible help in neutralizing this threat.”

She looked at him and gave him a small smile.

“He is himself.”

Looking back to the group.

“The how and what is his business, and is just as important to our success that it stays his secret as keeping Morgan’s plan a secret is.”

Delilah might not like what Cameron did, and she might be worried, but she would respect his wishes. And make the others respect them too.

The Parthenon- War Room 2

Delilah’s eyes widened in surprise.

“You talked to her? What did she say?!”

For the first time, I saw that she might have realized she was in over her head.

<<FLASH!>>

"No, Morgan, YOU listen. Pay attention to what I'm telling you. Even if you're right, even if this is REAL. It's TOO LATE for me, okay?? All the good parts of me are DYING. By the time you get to me, all that will be left is SCION."

I brought her to Limbo so that I could confront her away from prying eyes and minds.

Once she passed the test, I...gave her a life line.

<< She didn't want to say FLAT OUT that she activated Haleigh's birthright, the teleempathic rapport that the Victory sisters shared, or the version of it that Morgan and Blaze shared with Karen. If any unprotected mind knew this, Malice could potentially discover it. As it was...there was some RISK in doing that with Haleigh, BUT because it happened in Limbo, there was no chance of Malice being immediately aware of it at this time.>>

She understands that the time for this foolishness is coming to an END, and she's not going to hinder my...OUR efforts.

<< It was reflex for Morgan to take charge, especially on this, as Haleigh WAS her sister.>>

It wasn't just what she said...it was what she didn't say, but I PERCEIVED it during our encounter.

<<FLASH!>>

"Morgan--"

She started, wanting to ask her to tell them all that she was sorry, that she'd made a terrible mistake and wished she could take it all back. But she couldn't take it all back, and being sorry didn't seem like enough to make up for it.

"I made my choices, and I'll do what I have to. I know you want to get me out, and I.... WANT OUT. But listen.... Protecting THEM is more important than saving me. Malice is my MOTHER, and she'll do ANYTHING, she'll kill ANYONE to own me."

Morgan: Malice may be your mother. But your BIG SISTER is SORCERESS SUPREME. EVERYONE in that mansion will find out what that means!

She pleaded for consideration for Ava as well. She confirmed that Malice used her psi powers to render the Ava persona dormant, allowing Persephone to run rampant.

The encounter I had with Black Widow was very productive. If she had FAILED my test, I would have struck her down, and LEFT her in Limbo, in order to FREE her, and throwing an IMMEDIATE wrench into Malice's machine.

<< she looks away for a moment, showing a softer side that had seemingly vanished since this all began.>>

I'm....pleased that it didn't come to that.

Delilah shook her head absently.

I KNOW what you must be thinking, Delilah. And I'm SORRY that you feel that way, but this ISN'T the blue moon! Your MIND is not protected from Malice, NONE of your minds are!

They ALREADY have several advantages that weren't present before, we can't afford to give them any MORE.

Can't you just TRUST me? I'm trying to MINIMIZE the risk! We need to get them BACK before we can effectively wage war, because when WAR comes, it's going to be for KEEPS, and if you want those two to SURVIVE? They MUST be on OUR side. THE END.

<< and then to the topic of Cameron, and his extensive self modification.>>

Delilah got up from her chair and went to stand beside Cameron. She put a hand on his arm.

“Cameron has done what he needed to do to get through this and be the greatest possible help in neutralizing this threat.”

As long as it doesnt HAMPER him, which judging by the confrontation with Persephone, it DOESN'T, ... or make him some how more susceptible to Malice, that's fine. But apparently someone had to perform additional modifications to HIS modification, so I think NEXT time...

Nicolas straightened up, taking a couple of steps back from Cameron. He shook his head to the positive.

Fair enough. I am glad that it went as well as could be hoped.

His smile returned...at least a little. He glanced at Delilah.

When you feel strongly about something it can be hard to be questioned on it, even for you as well. I trust you both with your shared secrets. If you need me Cam, you know I am here for you.

Remember Cam, there is a reason why doctors do not treat themselves.

The next line was sent telepathically to Cam...

And you know I could have helped you Cameron King. This talk will not last forever, but it is also not over.

Now, where were we?

<< She moves back toward the center of the room.>>

Now, if there's nothing else? We should get ready to see my mom and Mike off.

And Cass? I'll be seeing you later for a one on one conversation.

Nicolas made a mental note to check on Cassandra after this talk. Morgan was a good leader, but notorious for the sharpness of her 'talks' at times.

Nicolas stood up to get ready to head upstairs. he had set the doorway up to open and take them to the hallway outside the suite. He was in no mood to waste time and the LAST thing this crew needed was to stand all together in an enclosed space.

:: Cass doesn’t know what she’s doing, Cass can’t see what is in front of her eyes, Cass made a big mistake, Cass is worthless, blah, blah, blah. Cass was SICK of everyone ganging up on her. Cass frowned. ::

*confused*: “But…he didn’t. You’re right; he COULD’VE captured me, but he didn’t.” *to nobody in particular; mostly to herself*: “WHY?”

:: A curious thought that Morgan had brought up. The reason it all broke down in the first place was because he had told her that he was to get her for MysTech…but he didn’t. There were MANY opportunities for him to just grab her and take her away, but HE DIDN’T. Just like there was AMPLE opportunity for him to do the same thing today, especially with his observation that the Six was nowhere to be found, but, again, HE DIDN’T. She mentioned about maybe needing round-the-clock protection and Morgan was looking at her with two heads. Excuse her for wanting to be safer than safe. ::

Morgan: “Ruby, I want to see you later....one on one. Until that happens, you'll REMAIN HERE in the Parthenon where it's relatively safe, is that clear?”

“Crystal.”

:: She wasn’t looking forward to the meeting with Morgan, if this so-called ‘debriefing’ was a glimpse of what was to come. And, thank heavens, the topic had finally changed to Morgan’s plan. Apparently Morgan had a one on one with Haleigh and it seemed to be productive. Morgan believed that Haleigh didn’t didn’t HAVE to be killed, but she could be rescued. ::

“That’s great news!”

:: Morgan then went on to say that afterwards she had a visit with Alison and that they are starting to work out on something that could help. Then the topic moved to Cameron. ::

Nicolas: “Oh SHIT. YOU did this to YOURSELF?! CAM!! What did you tear out? And it is TORN, I can sense it. It has been smoothed after the fact...did you work on it Morgan? What would make you risk your own mind in this way, Cameron?!”

Morgan: “No, I haven't performed any magicks on Cameron. Maybe my mom, or Isis? But he [Cameron] woudn't be the first among us to resort to drastic measures at one time or another. But Cameron, we need to know WHO we are dealing with...”

Delilah said:
Delilah got up from her chair and went to stand beside Cameron. She put a hand on his arm.

“Cameron has done what he needed to do to get through this and be the greatest possible help in neutralizing this threat.”

She looked at him and gave him a small smile.

“He is himself.”

Looking back to the group.

“The how and what is his business, and is just as important to our success that it stays his secret as keeping Morgan’s plan a secret is.”

:: Cass really didn’t give a DAMN about what Cameron had done. At least, not at this moment she didn’t. ::

Morgan said:
As long as it doesnt HAMPER him, which judging by the confrontation with Persephone, it DOESN'T, ... or make him some how more susceptible to Malice, that's fine. But apparently someone had to perform additional modifications to HIS modification, so I think NEXT time...

<< she walks over to Cameron and takes one of his hands into her own>>

...REACH OUT, you never know who might be able to help make sure your efforts result in the best possible effects for you...the FIRST time round.

:: Morgan then moved to the center of the room and asked if there was anything else and if there wasn’t, then they should go get ready to see Mike and Karen off. Cass suppressed a groan. She wasn’t in the mood to be in the same room with these people again. ::

Morgan: “And Cass? I'll be seeing you later for a one on one conversation.”

“Yep.”

Yay.

“You weren’t needed. If you had been, you would have been called.”

“Clearly we were, because you couldn’t do the job.”

Delilah asked Morgan about talking to Haleigh.

Spellbinder said:
For the first time, I saw that she might have realized she was in over her head.

“Good. If she realizes it, she might accept help. For once.”

It was a step in the right direction at least. Perhaps Haleigh would realize how completely ludicrous her plan had been.

Spellbinder said:
She pleaded for consideration for Ava as well. She confirmed that Malice used her psi powers to render the Ava persona dormant, allowing Persephone to run rampant.

“Well then, all we need to do-“

She smirked sarcastically.

“-is bring Ava out again. Easy peasy.”

Morgan went on to talk about how she and Alison had decided what they would do, without any input from anyone else.

Spellbinder said:
I KNOW what you must be thinking, Delilah. And I'm SORRY that you feel that way, but this ISN'T the blue moon! Your MIND is not protected from Malice, NONE of your minds are! They ALREADY have several advantages that weren't present before, we can't afford to give them any MORE.

“I know that, Morgan. Doesn’t make us feel less like we’re walking into this blind.”

Spellbinder said:
Can't you just TRUST me? I'm trying to MINIMIZE the risk! We need to get them BACK before we can effectively wage war, because when WAR comes, it's going to be for KEEPS, and if you want those two to SURVIVE? They MUST be on OUR side. THE END.

“What do you think I have been doing? Morgan, if I didn’t trust you, I wouldn’t be here.”

But Malice isn’t always going to be an excuse. They would see. But it was unsettling.

Spellbinder said:
Now, if there's nothing else? We should get ready to see my mom and Mike off.

Delilah nodded, and moved to the doorway Nicolas had prepared. The one thing they could all agree on was getting Karen to safety.

The Clocktower

Ashley lay in Zach’s arms, facing him, her arms clasped around his back. Even though they were spent, and through the peace of contented exhaustion, they didn’t stop sharing tender kisses. Ashley closed her eyes.

“What are you doing to me, Zach?”

She sighed with satisfaction, pressing her cheek into the crook of his neck. She felt as if she had no control over herself, that all she wanted was to be next to him, with him, loving him. She could think of nothing else. He made her feel alive in a way she couldn’t remember feeling before.

And the things he had said this time…and she had actually believed them. He made her feel important to him, truly, and not just as part of game like it had been with Alek. He had wanted her body, but Zach wanted her. And there was nothing like that feeling.

She groaned as the doorbell rang.

“It’s the food.”

She rolled over sleepily, to face the back of the couch, and murmured.

“You get it. I know how you feel about me being naked.”

She called after him:

“Check the camera first – make sure it’s them.”

The Parthenon- Blaze's penthouse- guest room

<< Karen sat in front of a beautiful vanity. She was already in her outfit, looking elegant and stylish as she was known for, and now putting the finishing touches on her make up when Tinkerbell, Morgan's beloved, and enchanted, siamese familiar jumped into view, mewing and moving back and forth in front of the mirror.>>

Oh, Tink.

<< Karen said with a smile, as Tinker greeted her.>>

Yes, I'll be leaving soon.

<< she said in a less than happy tone.>>

But...I suppose it's for the best, at least for now.

<< Tinker lowered her head, brushing against Karen's soft, manicured hand. She meowed once more.>>

What is it, kitty?

<< Soon, Tinker's blue eyes began to glow, and an image bubble "popped" into view. She saw a shimmering image of Hazel at Minerva's aerie, and the special treat that she and Karen had made for Tinker and the kitten from the herbs and plants in one of the gardens, it was more potent than catnip even.>>

Aww, you want some special treats?

<< Tinker perked up, meowing in response.>>

Well, I'll make sure to send some back for you and your baby sister, Okay?

<< Tinker came forward and nuzzled Karen, who laughed and gently stroked the feline's head>>

Don't worry, baby, I won't forget.

You just make sure you'll be good for mommy, and look after the kitten too.

<< Tinker understood, she even nodded her little head a bit. Karen smiled with approval, and and once again petted the cat>>

Mike walked up behind Karen, who was brushing her hair and finalizing her makeup. He hugged her and at first she tensed, but he persisted and she eventually relented, melting back into him and grabbing one arm with both of hers. He kissed her cheek and took in her smell...man she smelled as amazing as she felt. He continued to hold on as he whispered in her ear.

Once we get back, I will give you one of my patented backrubs. Massage oil, the whole nine, OK? And we can relax and have dinner under the stars.

Doc might rage and rant, but she WAS not turning down his backrub. At least she hadn't so far...

<< Karen looked at Michael's reflection behind her's in the mirror.>>

It's not going to be that easy, Michael.

<< She said coldly>>

A backrub doesn't make this...this....INSULT go away.

<< Tinker sets on the desk, and watches, as a mystic chime sounds off, and Karen suddenly disappears from where she was. With another chime, she reappears , now standing behind Michael and looking very agitated. >>

I'm leaving because my daughters, and you, are concerned for my well being in this clear and present danger being posed by Persephone and Black Widow.

Both of those women, who I WASTED so much time and effort trying to help! Just like I WASTED MY TIME on so many OTHERS in this building.

<< she points>>

I'm NOT happy, Michael, about ANY of this.

I'm NOT some old, feeble woman who can't defend herself!

I shouldn't have to leave because these RECKLESS, HARD HEADED CHILDREN << referring to the six as a whole>> can't make sound decisions.

Look at them, they can't even keep their lives in ORDER for their own SAFETY...but I'M the person who has to leave!?

I don't even want my DAUGHTERS to stay here with this group anymore!

There's still the matter of TALISMAN, and vengeance for FROST, someone that no one...INCLUDING YOU...cared aboout, but I did!

Talisman must ANSWER for what she's done, and don't you think for ONE MOMENT that my leaving changes that, and don't you think that a BACK RUB is going to fix this either!

<< she said with that clear, stern tone she was known for. she was not in the mood to be patronized either.>>

Let's be on our way.

<< she moves past Michael, and grabs her wrap, and her purse, exiting the guest room of Blaze's penthouse apartment. Tinker meows at Mike, before jumping off the vanity and quickly following after Karen.>>

The sooner we "evacuate", the sooner my daughters can get to work, and not feel like they have to worry, and the sooner YOU can stop treating me like a bird in a gilded cage.

<< without looking back, she DISAPPEARS again, as a mystic chime sounds off, leaving Michael to take the elevator down to the floor of the parthenon where one of her offices was housed. >>

<< Karen stands, with Tinker now sitting up in a nearby chair. In that moment of brief solitude, she exhales, and a look of disappointment and even a bit of pain washes over her normally elegant visage.>>

Seer said:
<< Michael would arrive soon, he knew he had his work cut out for him, but maybe once they were back at Minerva's Aerie, things would get a bit easier. MAYBE.>>

<< Soon, Nicolas, Delilah, Cameron Cass, Blaze and Spellbinder were arriving, and Dominique, Richard and Vivica were entering through the double doors.>>

<< Karen's facial expression softened as she looked at Michael once more, then over to the others as they arrived. It DID mean something that these people cared enough to at least see them off like this, and she knew that her daughters and those who agreed with their evacuation meant well...still, she did not like the idea of leaving...UNFINISHED BUSINESS.>>

The Clocktower

Ashley: What are you doing to me, Zach?

"Making you happy."

He quipped, his gratified smile tainted by satire. He ran his fingers through her hair, from her roots all the way to the ends slowly, infatuated with the way it felt, like silk running through his fingers.

She looked like she was about to fall asleep, and this time he would let her. He was just considering how nice it would be to sleep like this, cuddled up with her in his arms, when the doorbell rudely interrupted. She reminded him that they'd been expecting a delivery.

Right, dinner.

He stomach growled in anticipation. Ash rolled over.

Ashley: You get it. I know how you feel about me being naked.

He chuckled as he sat up, and pulled the blanket over her.

"Look, I can sense their lust.... and it provokes me a little, okay. Have mercy on me, I mean, how would it be if I BEAT the delivery boy's ASS just for leering at you?"

He replied, pulling his pants on and taking some cash from his wallet. He gently scratched at the scar on his chest as he headed for the door.

Ashley: Check the camera first – make sure it’s them.

He doubted that anybody here to attack them would be so polite as to ring the bell first, but he checked anyway, because she'd asked him to.

"Better safe than sorry, right?"

It was the dinner delivery boy, laden with a cardboard box filled to the brim with to-go dishes. Zach opened the door. The kid was only about five and a half feet tall, maybe a 120 lbs soaking wet, and all of 16 years old. Zach smiled kindly, and took the box from the boy with one arm.

Yeah, see, I'd accidentally KILL this kid if I fought him.

Boy: Damn dude, that scar. Car accident?

How WOULD he explain what happened?

"Train Wreck."

He deadpanned, passing the kid cash enough for the bill and a tip.

Boy: See, that's why I don't take the subway.

"Yeah, don't blame you. Hey, keep the change, have a good night."

He replied, and the kid bid him a happy goodbye, prompting Zach to close the door and lock it again.

"Sweet, the food is still hot. What did you order again?"

He asked as he passed by on the way to the kitchen.

The Clocktower

Zach was running his fingers through her hair, and it was so relaxing that she almost fell asleep, like a cat being petted. Of course, sleep was yet again interrupted, this time by the food delivery.

“Sleepus, interruptus.”

She murmered, as she told Zach that HE could get the door. She smiled as he draped the blanket over her, knowing that she had gotten her way.

Zach said:
"Look, I can sense their lust.... and it provokes me a little, okay. Have mercy on me, I mean, how would it be if I BEAT the delivery boy's ASS just for leering at you?"

“Mmm…that would be awesome, actually.”

Zach returned with a box of food.

Zach said:
”Sweet, the food is still hot. What did you order again?"

She sat up, scratching her head, letting the blanket pool around her waist, groggily trying to stave off the sleep she desperately wanted. She scrunched up her face in thought.

“Uh…General Tso’s, steamed dumplings, and crab Rangoon. Oh and spring rolls. And an egg roll. And I need lots of duck sauce. And chopsticks. And another beer."

The Parthenon- Karen's Office

<< Spellbinder shifted to her previous outfit , and used her magicks to change Blaze's as well. They find Karen and Michael standing together, with Tinker nearby in a chair. Their mom looks ever so stylish in her outfit, but her facial expression suggests displeasure. >>

<< Tinker meowed and vocalized, as she jumped down from her chair, and ran to Morgan before leaping up into Morgan's arm's>>

Tink!

<< Morgan hugs her enchanted familiar, who purrs and mews a bit as Blaze pets her. The sisters, and Tink make their way to Shadow Weaver, who embraces them both as they embrace her>>

Karen: My daughters...

<< Morgan and Blaze exchange one silent look between each other...as they knowingly conceal the most recent events involving Persephone and Firebird from Karen.>>

Morgan: Mom....PLEASE don't be angry with us.

Blaze: We just wanted to get you out of harm's way.

<< Karen could sense her daughter's genuine emotion as she lets go of them, and steps back, looking at Tinker, and gently stroking the side of her face before responding to Morgan and Blaze.>>

Karen: I know what's happened << up till the Firebird vs Persephone situation>>. I watched as Black Widow, armed with the knowledge that I helped her uncover, made an insane choice and INVALIDATE all the effort that I made, all the WILL that you all demonstrated to see her through this, and she's given herself to the woman more or less responsible for every terrible thing that has shaped our lives...since BEFORE MOST OF YOU WERE BORN!

<< she looks at Delilah, Cameron, Nicolas, and the rest assembled.>>

Karen: Ava Cassadine, a woman that I performed psychotherapy on for MONTHS to help her recover from trauma, TRAUMA that lead her to have an unintentional role in 42 children dying no less, REMOVED the safe guards I put in place, and INVALIDATED my efforts as she chose to dive into DARKNESS...and NOW she has HURT people I care about. Do you know what else I've seen?

<< she looks at Cameron>>

Arrogance.

<< Delilah>>

Stubbornness.

<< Michael>>

CONDESCENSION.

I've seen reckless and willfull behavior that has wasted time and exposed you all to vulnerability that you're only just NOW beginning to address...and I've had JUST ABOUT ENOUGH.

<< Her unhappiness was quite clear in her tone>>

You're sending me away to protect me from clear and present danger. Given the situation, I do understand, and that's why I've agreed to go along with it.

Karen: Who will protect YOU from your reckless and INSANE choices?

<< This was it, this was the build of all the frustration and anger that the doctor felt since the Frost caper, Talisman and everything up till now. She looks at her daughters>>

Karen: Who will protect YOU? Or have you all FORGOTTEN just who it is that Haleigh GAVE herself to?

<< and if anyone could remind them of just what a looming figure Malice was, it would be Karen.>>

<< Morgan and Blaze look at Michael, he could see them both bearing Karen's withering remarks.>>

Karen’s Office – The Parthenon

Delilah stepped to the other side of the doorway and saw that Karen was there already. And she had words, especially for Morgan and Blaze but also for the rest of them.

"Karen, we haven't forgotten. We're together now and we are going to fix this."

She walked up and hugged her.

“I wanted to say goodbye before you left.”

And then she lowered her voice.

“I know this isn’t easy, but it will put your children’s minds at ease for what is to come. And we will need you…after.”

She gave Karen an understanding smile. She knew the witch wasn’t happy about leaving, and it wasn’t as if Karen couldn’t fend for herself. But if something did happen to her? None of them would ever forgive themselves, and they would all worry about her to the point of distraction.

“Take a swim in the ocean for me.”

With a squeeze of Karen’s hand, Delilah stepped aside.
