Did anyone notice how during the Writers Guild strike, that we saw a flurry of reality shows on just about every channel? that horrid genre WAS on the wane until the strike happened.

Now there's a "Reality remix" channel, a "Reality awards show" and just about EVERY channel is copying a show from another channel's original idea.

for example: "Dancing with the stars" which really isnt that bad to watch...but now Lifetime has 'Your mama dont dance" and Bravo has "Step it up and Dance"...with Elizabeth Berkley as its host.

I DO admit to watching Bravo's show because I'm a fan of Elizabeth Berkley. She's from detroit AND she's a dance major herself. but aside from that...i'm SOO tired of the Reality TV genre....the one that STARTED it all, "Survivor" isnt even that popular anymore.

I never really like reality shows never like any of them. The only reality show i really like is 30 Days from the guy that made "Super Size Me". That show is interesting, funny and actually has a point beyond watch the crazy people.

i also like The Bad Girls Club....hell i'd audition to be on that show but I'm probably too "old". most casting for shows have a cut off of age 25  its ridiculous lol!

The Bad Girls Club is definately not like most other shows and being that its on Oxygen, I hope it stays for a while.

BUT i still maintain that the Reality TV genre as a WHOLE has gotten stale.

I never saw the appeal in Reality Shows until last year I would say. I found them entertaining to veg in front of after having a stressful day at the office. I never could get into Survivor but I liked MTV's Real World, Real World vs. Road Rules, Inferno, etc. I loved the drama that ensued with the characters. Most of which was likely scripted but it was funny. It made my life more ordinary lol.

But, yes I have to agree. There are more and more reality shows that are rip off's of originals. Look at American Idiol, now you have all sorts of competitions for singing and dancing.

I've noticed a revival of the game shows like Deal or No Deal, Are you smarter than a fifth grader, etc.

I honesty thought Realty Award shows are a joke lol. I tried watching the Real World Awards and I was bored lol.

Then there are the Modeling shows like America's Next Top Model, this Australia modeling show, beauty contests, etc.

I have to say one of the more amusing and unique reality shows was Scare Tactics, I miss it.

Um.. I LOVE Reality Television!

I am a huge Survivor Fan (Or at least I was) and in fact used to write an Online Column for a Survivor Message board back in I think 2002. The Website is SurvivorFire.Com - Look me up if your interested lol. I have been a member there since 2001 and if a season gets me interested, I usually go back. I used to watch every single season but I stopped after awhile. My column was pretty popular and I got to interview many of the cast members via phone interview and in fact my favorite Cast Member even autograph a photo and sent it to me. It was my high point while at that website haha.

I LOVE Big Brother and I really want to be on the show. I think I could win that shit in a heartbeat! Pretty much I like most competitive Reality Shows for Money, but I also have a weakness for Rock of Love and Charm School and I Love Money, pretty much, if it's on VH1 I'll watch it!
