You know for all the doomsaying that the human race does I'm not sure we have what it takes to accept that we might live. I think for all our predictions on how we are gonna end we as a species might actually make it, even a billion years laters we might live.

i honestly feel that 'doomsday' will be brought about by manmade circumstances. abuse of the environment, abuse of power by gov't resulting in economic or food crisis, more acts of atrocity etc. we've already seen so many species of animals lost and every other period had a dominant species that is no longer dominant. i think we'll be the same way. i think itll be some decimating environmental event or the human species tearing itself apart.

all i want is to either be dead by the time that happens or if it does happen in my life time, to be with friends/family and to go quickly.

Yeah, but you know all the outrageous religious quacks will believe that all those occurrences you listed were the wrath of God lol.

But I agree. I think ultimately the "end of the world" won't happen while we're all alive, but I do think when it does happen it will be because of the way we treated the Earth.
