As Frost thanked her, Haleigh said nothing in response.... for she had the foresight to know that sooner or later the favor would be returned.... it always went the way among the six, and if Frost TRULY was to be apart of their cartel, then she would reciprocate without even thinking about it at some point. Sure enough, mere seconds later, Haleigh found herself ducking out of the way of Frost's next attack, which drilled an approaching spider back. As her comrades around her agreed to take flight from the arachnids, Haleigh turned her back to the beasts and ran, grabbing Jas by the collar of her suit as she passed and pulling the girl along with her.
"We're Square, now let's get OUT of here." Haleigh's version of a thank you. Frost was the first to speed up their movements, rocketing them 500 feet forward on ice, then Guardian put up a forcefield that kept the Ant Lions back as they all took to running the rest of the way. Haleigh's own speed, coupled with Alison's temporal boost, allowed her to pull slightly ahead of the group, and she was a few paces ahead of them as they neared Morgan.
Spellbinder and the creatures that threatened her were coming nearer and Haleigh could hear hissing and other reptile noises and knew exactly what kind of trouble Morgan had run into... but as she entered the final run of the cave... the dungeon that Morgan had walked through minutes before, Haleigh came to a grinding, sliding halt.... The smell alone was revolting, the overpowering stench of death, decay, and human waste thick in the air and Haleigh now takes to walking the rest of the way. She can hear Jasmine coughing from nausea beside her, and then as alison catches up, the instructions for them all. Haleigh passes the disfigured and the dead, her face blank... She has a hard time associating this kind of result coming from Rick Riley... losing his brother must have truly struck the man's psyche... because though Haleigh'd seen tortue and been victim to it before.... this seemed more like purposeless torment than torture for information. As she passed, a victim reached out towards her and made a murmured plea for help. Haleigh drew a 9mm with a suppressor attached and silently put the man out of his misery... and then took to delivering a single bullet to the head of each one she passed out of pity, releasing all those still miraculously alive to pass on to the afterlife. She shook her head softly in disgust.
Her teammates had taken to fighting off the creatures as they came to Morgan, but Haleigh seemed to be working on autopilot. She closed her eyes on count but that was the ONLY sign that she was remotely involved in the fight, as Delilah took her place in fighting off the dragons, Haleigh's attention rose to the final sight Morgan had happened upon before she realized she was at the dead end.... and it made her blood run cold. Haleigh knew enough to figure that this final victim was already dead, but the sight of the naked, skinned body of a man put on display like this was enough to make even Haleigh raise her hands to her mouth and gasp. She realized, at this point, that the man she had known in Rick Riley was LONG gone. Haleigh stood there numbly, with her back to the battle... it was a testament of the sheer effectiveness of the team that she wasn't blindsided by one of the biohazards.
Haleigh's attention to current events was finally gained when something hit her bicep. She turned her head to look at the blood splatter on her arm and then down at the chunk of komodo Dragon that had just fallen to the ground after hiting her. Alison had just blown up one of the reptiles and Haleigh finally registered the directions that had been given to her minutes before. Haleigh looked up at the cavernous ceiling and pulled from her pocket a small spherical object, which she squeezed tightly. It began to glow and Haleigh threw it upwards with surprising velocity... as the battle around them began to subside and quiet, the thing Hales had thrown splattered on the ceiling of the dungeon. Haleigh looked round the group and saw Morningstar still trying to dispatch a dragon. Haleigh finally joined in the fight, approaching the final komodo while it was still stunned. A metal bat formed in her hands, and Haleigh swung at its head with such engineered super strength and speed that a loud and sickening crack followed the connection of the bat with the creature's skull, and the beast went limp almost instantly. Haleigh lead Delilah over to where Morgan and Alison were and beckoned the rest of the group to move in closer.
A large, thick sheet of steel developed beneath everyone's feet and it gave a lurch as Haleigh mentally lifted it [and the group] from the floor of the cavern. Overhead, there was no explosion, for Haleigh had not thrown a bomb... but as they rose through they air the realized the rock and earth above them was slowly disappearing, and a passage was opening up. Haleigh smiled as everyone regained their bearings.
"Chemical warfare... the 'bomb' is quickly eating its way through the minerals... I know you wanted to make a smash entrance, Alison.... but trust me... I am much more qualified at quiet, surreptitious infiltration... after all... I AM a spy." She says with a wink. "You all ready yourselves... we'll be there shortly.... Morgan.... you did good girl... you rest for a minute. Alison... i trust your forcefield is still allowing the Ant Lions to give chase? I think they will offer a nice distraction as we storm Riley and his black guards.... I'll go directly for Sharon and Alycia. I promised nothing would happen to them on my watch.... so you can understand this thing with Riley is a bit personal.... once I secure those two... we can deal with Riley.... we probably wont have time to skin him alive... but I'm sure we can manage something sufficiently painful...."
