For me, he's confirming what I started to realize when I studied history. Religion itself is a tool for control & conditioning. That's not to say that there's no higher power or a spiritual quality to life, only that these MAN MADE systems of religion often complicate things or make things worse. Religion has caused more wars & bloodshed than anything else & has been used to justify all sorts of horrors including the slave trade, burning times, decimation of the native americans, the holocaust, various genocides & more.

many religions that predate christianity dont even believe or acknowledge the concept of hell/satan.

My uncle doesn't believe in hell either. If he were here, he'd give you an entire sermon on it. LOL!

Me, I'm starting to believe the same. To me, God is like a daddy. He wants to be known like that, instead of like a mean old man up in the sky who wants to whack off anybody and everybody. So, seeing God like that, and knowing He loves everybody, why would He send all of His children to a place of eternal torment? It just doesn't make sense.
