Phoenix, of course is the "child of the stars, the "chaos bringer", the force of creation/destruction in marvel who is listed as "2nd only to the creator in terms of power..." from devouring stars & tearing planets apart w/ her telekinetic power, to creating star gates, black holes & battling galactus, this woman has been a force to be feared & admired for a while & became the standard by which all future female characters in marvel would be measured for a long time.

Moleclue Man may not be much to look @ physically but he's been described by marvel as one of the most unique & arguably most powerful characters in MU due to his ability to control all matter on a molecular level. he was the only earthbound character (@ the time) who made galactus even respond (much less be taken aback) by his human presence during secret wars.

w/ his abilities, he can fly, control complex machines, disrupt matter into dust or liquid, convert matter from one form to another (among other things). marvel states there is no know limit to his power.

Does Molecule Man have a chance @ facing/fighting Phoenix?

Well in terms of power i think he could hold his own pretty good, when i have seen him for the most part he seemed timid and reluctant to really let go, so i don't think he has the same "killer instinct" that Phoenix has, and that would probably be his downfall.

I haven't seen much of MM, and he might have gotten bolder, but overall i think this one goes to Phoenix.

Reece has a weak mind. There is a reason why he has a bad record vs. damn near everyone. He potentially has the power to win but not the will.

It's been a long while since I've read MM but when I read a special "What If the heroes had remained on Battleworld after Secret Wars?" in that, many characters had paired off & had children. Among them was MM & Volcana's son, Vincent, who had inherited all of MM's abilities but definitely was NOT timid or shy about using them & he nearly killed/overwhelmed several ppl he battled in the story.

Now that you guys mention it though. MM himself DID have a very weak mind. Both he & Doctor Octopus had some serious mental health issues lol!

So I guess MM's biggest handicap in a fight against Phoenix WOULD be himself...his MIND, & for someone like HER that would make him ideal prey.

I don't think Molecule Man has any chance here, it doesn't really work in his favor that the one power he might not have (psychic powers) is the one thing that Phoenix is the most powerful in the universe at.
