while meditating on life and the universe i asked myself the age old question what is the world. i was considering the possibilities when i thought of an old article i read about "science and the soul" and about how the concept of a soul is back in scientific possibility cause after death the human body mysterious loses some weight and what happens to electrochemical energy after death.
when i considered all this i think the energy we call a soul is part of the world after death and before life entering and leaving the body with what we call karma acting as a mechanism to move things in harmony. i think we're cells in a massive organism made of energy, what do you all think?

Interesting theory. It is possible that were just parts of a massive whole made with percesion to keep the Universe at top efficiency. However it also could be said that we are part of a giant machine, but not the kind of machine were used to. Of course all of this could be also be a simulation, a false world that's only truth IS that it is false and that whatever is beyond it is real and that when we die our energy is released unto that real world giving us true form and not this crude, un-luminous form of matter.

if this is a false world and the truth is energy and information we're all living in the 3D side effect of a 2D world. really makes you wonder if it is true that our perceptions craft reality then is this world merely our own creation make by what we think and want to believe to be true. can a ant effect our world as much as a person and can chaos theory be applied to the false world?

I don't think so...our minds are not strong enough to create something as large as a Universe. Someone else has to be pulling the strings here and if this is a truly false world then he OR she is a "real person" and we are crafted in his OR her image. But then of course there is the possibility that both worlds are true and the second merely contains a higher form of life, higher than what we would probably consider life. But there is no way to know unless we were to do what Galactus did at the end of his Universe back in the comics. We would need to journey into the heart of the Universe and the malestrom that sits there as the Universe dies. Only then would we find what lies beyond the borders of our small world.

i disagree with your point that our minds might not be strong enough. we don't know the true strength of the human mind or how fluidic reality truly is but the idea that there is a "God" pulling the strings of the world is interesting. to think we all may be figments in the thoughts of a higher being.

Ooops I forgot to add currently to my last post. Currently our minds our not strong enough to be able to create worlds based just upon our perceptions. If that were true we'd be seeing everything differently. One person would be seeing an endless forest while the other sees a dark, jagged world that is eternally covered by night and twilight.

i don't think so at some level we all accept some base truths about the world up, down, time flows one way. i think its these basic ideas that form our world. each generation building on what was made before it craft our base existence not the "higher thoughts" but the subconscious mind

Good point...too good. Now here's a theory...what if...the entire Universe is just an MMORPG that is simply titled "The Universe." What if we are all based on someone elses world? It would mean that not only are we not real but we are also not unique!

uniqueness is overrated :p but we don't know for all we think and wonder that can be the truth of the world

Exactly...or what if existence was an accident? What if it was never meant to be but continued on because he or she who exists beyond was fascinated by it's brilliance?!

existence as nothing more then a grand experiment but are we loyal companions or germs within a dish. if there is a supreme creator out there the thoughts of this great being are so beyond us to try to understand them is impossible. i think we should move our conversation back to what it means to be alive.

But that would lead right back into THIS discussion. In fact...we may already be going in a circle right now! It might never end if we go any further. Are you prepared for that Black King?

i think we need fresh ideas we should wait for other members of the site to post share and discuss or we will end up going in circles.

i have my days where i can entertain things like this, but as ive told people before....unless you have a ton of money and a lot of free time on your hands...its not often that your average middle class person is going to be able to "wax philosophical" on life..since we're so busy trying to make our way THROUGH it.

the ideas here are interesting when pondered though.

the infinite expanse of the universe, when truly dwelled on makes you feel SMALL and alot of people could do with some humility.'

that's all i can think of at the moment lol

Amen to that! Spellbinder has found the solution to our dilemma! We are free at last, free at last! Lord Almighty we are Free At Last! I am gonna go celebrate by posting some more!

with the size of the universe i don't think its meant to make us seem small but more to remind us we are part of something greater and we all have a part.

but honestly, you could get LOST in the vastness of the cosmos. even self proclaimed "cosmologists" dont truly do the universe justice with their interpretation. hell, we havent even explored the whole of our OWN planet.

i just gauge things by: it might seem important now...but 100 years from now it wont even matter so why stress? what comes AFTER this life? i really dont know and "faith" seems kind of pretentious to me.

To be honest the fact that there is no definitive proof on what happen when you die other than 2000 year old stories that have been edited for the purpose of economic and political power over the years is what makes me wary of faith and religion.
I don't think anyne can truly do justice to life, the universe and existence but i find people are capable of great things when they try.

Oh man, philosophy....not my strongest side :worry:

My look on life or life motto, is that i do what i do, i might regret it later, but not when i do it. I'll take the consequences of my actions, i don't really believe there a god out there, i believe in a life BEFORE death.

That's all i had too say, i hope this is relevant too this thread, if not then ill take the consequences later :p
