Personal Observations!

One of the deadliest mistakes we can make is in underestimating our Foes in the GoL. we have encountered many of them over the months........and one of the best things we can do to help us continue to out power them is to document their tactics and movements.

HERE in this thread........i would like ALL members to document any substantial encounters with a GoL. be sure to list their important information such as : name, level, species if its available, an amulets, weaponry or accessories they appear to posses and above all else...what powers they display. note thier battle tactics and general presentation as well. list any apparent weaknesses you might discern as well.

ALL of us need to keep an eye out...reading this thread to see the information that is listed...... someone could read up on a member who is having a hard time over coming a GoL who uses a spellbinder amulet to a fault (for example) and might have a solution to offer in getting around that. if we study our foes...and work together we can continue to out power and out maneuver the GoL AND their Leaders.

This thread will only be useful if MEMBERS continue to provide observations on our foes. make sure the person you are listing is NOT already posted here.....unless you have something important to ADD ....then you can post that person again.

Guess I'll post first, then.

Jules. A level 4 Calefactionist

She possesses, as far as I know:

  • Phoenix Down - some kind of healing device. I don't know if its a potion, a bought item, a power, or what. She tends to use that after she'd taken a huge hit to heal herself fully
  • Intangibility - Avoiding physical attacks (partially) and to maneuver herself out of any position where she may be "trapped". Be careful that you don't let something pass through her and hit you instead
  • Blowing things up - she's tried to blow up three limbs of mine. I personally feel thats one of the GoLs downfalls... they rely too heavily on simply flicking their wrists and blowing limbs up. It gets boring. Which is where, when she tried to blow up a third hand of mine, I killed her.
  • Optic beams - every time she uses them, its when I somehow have her trapped, e.g. hand around her neck, pulling her down into the water, whatever. Her eyes go milky pink first, and they have the power to cut through steel.
  • Earth control - I think this may be her species power. She has a high control of the element earth, and uses it well
  • Sigel rune - Levels herself up by one, and her opponent down by one. I particularly HATE that one.
  • Eohl rune - repels evil, and caused me to loose my powers
  • Telekinesis
  • Cloning

I've gone through the threads and those are the powers I've seen her using. I've fought Jules throughout the course of both Pain in Paradise threads, and I have to say she is a great opponent to fight. GENERALLY she comes up with unique attacks, although a couple of times she has repeated herself with the most simple of attacks... TKing a blade into me, and blowing up hands.

Its when people continually blow up limbs that I go in for the kill... it gets totally annoying.

You forgot to mention Jules' Isa Rune which forced me to babysteps and the loss of my powers for 4 posts but i agree with your synospis on her style

The phoenix down i believe is an item bought from the item shop hack...

with regards to the Intangibility. what the GoL might not be aware of is that intangibility does NOT protect from every thing......Adamantium is so dense...that even when phasing......if you slashed through her with adamantium claws.....she would STILL quite stunned and hurt by that pass.

being intangible also will not protect against MYSTICAL blades or weapons that are used against the person who is phasing.

phasing will also NOT protect against energy based attacks (that occurr on a internal basis).

Oh yeah. i must add. Molecular acceleration is a very irritating power the Gols rely on. Most people will have trouble with Gol who just simply explode you arm leaving you armless. I would suggest people thinking of ways of replacing lost limbs, since MA is getting very very common.

Personally, i feel witches in GOL are the most irritating. They posses cheap moves and boring tactics, mainly freezing and exploding. Also TK... I don't quite get their power buying system, but lots of them seem to have MA. Even level ones. To me, i feel MA should be an upper leveled power...

Also guys be on the look out, Jules just leveled up to level 5 so who knows what sorts of powers she has gained

In regards to MA and healing, make sure your in a fight thread with a friend who has a healing talisman or even a wraith so they can heal your limbs, thats how I work it so I do not have to waste like a spell

Wow, there seems to be a huge boom in promotions these last few weeks... members on both sides seem to have jumpde several levels over less than a month... But hey, if they deserve those levels than good for them.
Hopefully AHBL participation will increase as a result of this.. if not, why are the higher levels the levels they are?

MA IS the most annoying power... I just honestly do not see the point of simply blowing someone's arm up... its entirely boring, IMO. Where's the creativity in that?!

And, Farrah, thanks for the info on intangibility... thats defiantely good to know...

With regards to MA, anyway... Crouching Samurai is VERY annoying with his use of that... I suggest if he tries to explode something more than once (which, without doubt, he will), just kill him :) To teach a lesson hopefully he will one day learn.

Or someone can use their own MA and give them a taste of their own medicine hehe

Been there, done that... they don't like it very much, thats for sure ;) Always give twice as much as you get *nods*

Another downfall of the intangibility power is that it requires concentration to maintain. Sonics and psionics can even the playing field quite abit. Especially when they are phasing through something. ;)

Also regarding the matter acceleration ability, am not sure but it might work out that if you are in a state of temporal statis or slowdown, that power might serve to bring you back up to normal speed and provide an interesting surprise for your opponent. Check with the Farrah to make sure.

Crouching Samurai, a level 2 hunter.

He's lowered leveled, but thought the info should be useful for some people.

- Most irritating power, speeding up the molecules till the brink of explosion. I.E Molecular acceleration. He often explodes your hand.
- He also uses that ice staff of his WAY too often. And the amount of power that ice staff seemingly has is sometimes ridiculous. I believe it is merely an item from the item shop hack
- He also has this ring which blasts wind. Nothing big.
- He sometimes summons this rune warrior of some sort who can immobilise you i think... Oh and also throw energy balls...
- He also has super strength and super speed
- I believe he levitates.
- I believe he can blind you somehow...

Thats all i think. But these are the things he can do at level 1. Now he's level 2, he might have more...

Well, a GoL gave me her entire power table for her species so I would give her my powers. I belive I gave her my powers up to Lvl 2. Here is what she gave me.

Paladin: Holy warriors in a battle of good and evil, determine to serve the side of good, Paladins are a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. They are powerful and have the luck of the gods on their side. They are not to be messed with or you might of the Gods and find yourself smitten down by these mighty warriors.

**NOTE: Paladins are always equipped and adept with a Sword and very good at Fencing/Sword Fighting

Level 1: Smite/Magickal Armor - You can now summon the wrath of the gods to channel powerful blasts of unknown lightning from the sky at your opponents which can burn, knock unconscious, and in higher levels kill on contact/ You can now manifest magickal armor which protects you from all physical combat.

Level 2: Deflection Shield/Metalic Absorption - You know have a magickal, glowing shield that deflects tangible powers and projectiles/and you can now liquify all metals.

Level 3: Astral Projection/Conjuration - Can project an astral form of yourself outside your body/You can now conjure large and small things to aid you in battle.

Level 4: Banishment - You can now banish items, weapons and projectiles from the thread and they dissappear in black smoke. At level 6 you can banish people from the thread.

Level 5: Mental Possession - Your amor obtains a helm that protects you from Illusions and emotional manipulation attacks/You are now able to mentally possess another's mind and control their actions.

Level 6: Healing Touch/Wrath - You can now use an ability that allows you to completely heal and cure a fellow coven member or yourself once in battle. / You can summon the wrath of the Gods and send your opponent in a blast of lightning up to the heavens to be judged.

Hey Devon thanks for the 411 on Crouching Samurai because I am locked in mortal combat (pun intended) with him on the Streets of Rage thread. This will give me some stuff to watch out for.

There is something else that I needed to ask for any of the leaders who may know, about astral projections that is. Let's say there is a situation when you find yourself under the influence of blindness, immense pain, or poison, when you call on your astral form to defend your body, does your astral form suffer from the same ailments also? And what about that for clones too? I wanted to pull out the triple clone spell in case I ever found myself ailing and outnumbered...

Someone gave you their ENTIRE species power table?!

Well...that totally ruins the two hours I spent researching and observing them in AHBL...

Yup. That takes care of Whitestar and Circe. But when vacation comes, I will make more observations

I have noticed the promotion boom too...even though I'm not one of them. :p

Hey bud, i asked your question about abstral projection for you in the craone's cave. I was on the topic of AP anyway. DC says you'll be free of all the aliments your real body is inflicted on.

Just to let you know I was speaking to Imaginary she told me that she has only been in GOL for 3 weeks and she is already a level 2.. so dont be put off by Levels... they may seem like a higher level but they dont have much experience.. ;). Just a small heads up ;).

Charmed Slayer, a level 4 Nexus

The powers I've found he most commonly uses are:

-His Lumination talisman, this has trapped me into a globe of darkness and begun to suffocate me.
- Ice Amulet, this one annoys the hell out of me, he constantly uses ice spikes to stab someone, and they come ouf of his sword to freeze your blood. The most nerve wracking attack had to be when he froze me both mentally and physically.
-Phoenix Down
- Turning things to stone, a newly acquired power, that can turn body part to stone
-Intangibility, it's limited but your weapons can still go through it and claws if you have any.
- Temporal Statis
-A clone, he has a clone that has his full power.
- I remember once he made Titania swim in lava, not too sure what gives him the ability to though.
- A sword (just to clarify he has one and can stab you with it lol)
