Patti Labelle joins American Horror Story: Freakshow cast

I get the feeling her character might be like "Hetty Winthrop" or "Miss Marple" from the PBS mystery series. I could totally see her as the investigating consciousness that unravels a gruesome town mystery.

Well obviously shed play the role in her own way :p i take it you never saw her rocurring role as "mona" (dwanyne wayne's mother) on "a different world"? Shes not a "serious actress" by anymeans, but shes definitely a character actress lol.

I love how AHS is so damn good [and popular] that it brings in big names as guest stars. Last year it was Stevie Nicks, so it's pretty cool to see Patti Labelle in the lineup. :)

Yeah, I'm not giving her acting chops that much credit, dear...

She is a solid actress with more than a few credits. She simply is too valuable as a singer to waste on acting for too long. I expect her to perform more than adequately.

Well...I don't know if any of you watched her on it...but it was kind of a let down. She was on the show for a total of about three minutes. She was the maid to the Dandy character and I enjoyed her sass but I felt like the role was a little beneath her. I mean if you have Patty Labelle USE her. I mean I'm not her biggest fan in general but it just seemed like a missed opportunity.
