Minerva's Mansion- Executive Study

:: On another floor, at the end of a long hall, through the closed double doors, we find Alison still inside the large, regal executive study. She sits at her desk looking over these old documents and journals of Barbara's as well as pictures of the mansion and the floor plans. this was a technological wonder on par with ARKLAY mansion in terms of structure and its intricate details but the technology , especially in the well fortified catacombs was almost ALIEN.::

:: time had passed and it was ironic that the precog, known as "the keeper of time" had LOST track of time this afternoon, so engrossed in what she was reading that she missed lunch with the others. On somethings, she used her power to actually "see/visit" the moments/areas described in the writings, journals and photos with her seer's eye. ::

Barbara was a true tactician and hunter as well as an archeologist, historian and adventurer.

:: it reminded Alison of when she felt compelled to leave home...at 14. She ventured into the world, already tempered and honed by the battles against her own abusive mother and used her powers to prowl and explore places even grown men wouldnt dare. propelled by a boldness that only a precog could have and the coldness that she was known for. she could further see now how her destiny had come to connect her to barbara and this place.::

:: but more importantly, Alison searched for any indications of problems like a "haunting" on the mansion, or the island or even the waters around the island in the past or perhaps there would be some photo of any given place in the mansion that had a clue that was not noticeable in these current times.::

nothing yet...

:: she said in a low tone. but she felt like she might find something if she just...::

:: Nicolas would be arriving any moment. She had just enough time to come out of her deep thought right before he knocked and then entered. She didnt want to overreact on ANOTHER friend like she did Haleigh a week earlier.::

Nicolas...

:: she said in a low but friendly tone as she looked up and leaned back a bit in her chair::

Rampage said:
KNOCK! KNOCK! You failed to eat and even YOU cannot continue to do that. Have a snack and let me help you work on this if you must press ahead.

Nicolas had no intention of allowing Alison to continue to bear this alone. He walked in with the fruit and an open mind.

Do you have any leads?

:: always trying to look after everyone, even though he was one of the youngest and at times needed to be looked after the most himself, Alison looked upon him. she smiled JUST a bit before returning to her more thoughtful countenance.::

:: As Nicolas entered, neither he, NOR Alison noticed the VERY recent appearence of a STATUE now in the very corner of the room, where Haleigh had been sent flying into the wall a week earlier, was now standing. The beautifully, intricately sculpted statue appeared to have ALWAYS been there. Neither one of them was aware that the statue was NOT there before and that it didnt belong. It simply seemed that it had always been there.::

thank you.

:: she said as she partook of the fresh fruit. she had to admit, it was nice to have something to refresh herself with. and this fruit did the trick.::

:: he asked if she had any leads. she sighed. they all saw how much she'd been wrapped up in this. they wanted to help her and support her, but in her mind, the ultimate burden fell on her as mistress of this mansion and all therein.::

No, nothing yet. But I had the feeling I needed to look BACK on the history of the mansion, during Barbara's time here from the time it was constructed up till her death a year ago. The woman was amazing. Despite being "only human", she was something more than that, a temporal anamoly that even I couldnt "see" beyond physically looking at her.

:: Nicolas would see there were several pictures, some up to 8X10, of Barbara Minerva in various outfits as an explorer, hunter or as the regal mistress of this mansion some of the photos appeared to be very old judging by the look of the weapons Barbara and her soldiers had and even the quality of the film, another indication that Barbara was easily immortal, having lived a full life in two different timelines. there was even a photo of Barbara with Persephone and Spellbinder's cross time alternate, DARKCHILDE, along with other standout members of the MoE. ::

:: Nicolas remembered Barbara, she was a noble, brave woman who had a history with Persephone and Spellbinder's alternate from the MoE timeline. She was also revealed to be the guardian of Pandora and her legendary box and many other artifacts of the world that were thought to be myths. She aided the Six during the beginning of the Red Moon/Circe caper, and ultimately gave her life so that they could succeed in saving Pandora and the world from the rogue goddess sorceress. Alison was called to fullfill her destiny to REPLACE Barbara in this role as Harbinger while Barbara received a truly just reward for her life of adventure, boldness, bravery and sacrifice and was reborn as an AMAZON, now living on Themyscria with Alycia among others and with no memory of her previous life here or in the MoE timeline.::

When Persephone first brought us here during the Red Moon, We never got a "grand tour" of this place before Barbara died, and after I inherited the mansion I spent months learning it. Pandora helped me immensely and the guards, those who survived the Red Moon and the ones recruited by Mike during his stay here, they've been excellent.

This mansion is on par with Arklay in terms of its structure and the hidden networks/passages within. the catacombs, the watch towers on the islands, the markers in the ocean...all of these things make this one of the most protected places in the world even though hardly anyone can find it!

With this place's history, Barbara's history and unique nature, and many of the artifacts she guarded...I can't help but feel like what is going on NOW has something to do with something or someone from the PAST here and since I never got the chance to properly know Barbara herself and Pandora could only tell me so much for even SHE hadnt known Barbara immediately after she arrived here from the MoE timeline, I decided to do some research.

So far, I havent found any recordings or evidence of previous hauntings...but I'm not finished looking through these yet. I feel that I may find something.

:: she takes another piece of fresh fruit and eats it gingerly.::

How are the others? Delilah?

:: she took a moment to look at Nicolas before continuing.::

You've been doing really well with not upsetting her. Take it from the precog, it really IS just a "matter of time" before she is able to tolerate and trust you as a team mate. but I dont see you two ever being "good friends".

Aside from the recent haunting, it looks like you all have benefited from this unprecedented amount of downtime. I guess the sister fates owed you after that heavy battle with Viper, a surprise holdover from Mystech.

I know that we're all concerned about Delilah and waiting is the hardest thing, but at least you're all together, and here as opposed to a more visible location like Melrose Place.

That way we can handle this ourselves without prying eyes....or minds

Delilah loved to watch the storms that came to the island. The patterns of light stretching out through the darkness were fascinating to her – plus the light and sound show always left her feeling refreshed and energized. Her time on the island had left her rejuvenated.

Morgan was talking about the recent events – mysterious, unexplainable occurrences. Nicolas made a bad joke, and Delilah rolled her eyes. The way he kissed Morgan’s ass really made her want to vomit.

Spellbinder said:
How about you? any weird happenings in your suite?

Her attention snapped back to Morgan, who was asking about her own experience.

“To tell you the truth, I’ve seen the animals act strangely, and I’ve heard stories from everyone about it, but I’ve not really had a problem myself.”

Delilah shrugged. The whole thing was strange, indeed, but Delilah didn’t think it was something to get worked up over. More likely than not, Mike had concocted some harebrained scheme to prank them.

“I am enjoying our time here so much. I love being this close to an ocean that doesn’t have medical waste in it.” Delilah was not terribly a fan of Los Angeles, despite the warm weather everyone always praised. And the ocean there was dirty and cold – the polar opposite of the Aegean.

Morgan was worried about Alison and thought they should help her figure out what was going on.

“I don’t know, Morg – we’ve run every scan and test known to Man and come up with nothing. Maybe it’s time to just chalk it down to Barbara Minerva weirdness and move on.”

Truth was, she was so relaxed and at peace here that the last thing she wanted was another “caper” to have to work on. Couldn’t they just have some time to be normal?

“Do you really think it’s that big of a deal?”

Minerva's Mansion

Delilah: Do you really think it's that big of a deal?

Cameron smirked.

"When is it NOT that big of a deal with us. One minute makeup is being left out or clothes, or paintings have gone missing, the next it's some horrible Kleptomaniac Hell Goddess with a need for revenge because one of us is apparantly their sibling."

His eyes darted back and forthe to the others in the room.

"Well.. you all know i'm not even exaggerating. But still, I think it's definitely worth looking into. Even if it's harmless, something that Alison, Morgan, myself or Nicholas can't detect is SOMETHING I want to know about."

He looked out the grand windows of the mansion to the sea in front of them, watching the clouds change, the water become more rapid, and it actually made him want to go BACK.. to Los Angeles.

"As much as I am enjoying myself here.. I miss Los Angeles. I grew up there. I love the rapid pace, I love the people.. I hate not feeling like I have don't have anything...to DO? I don't know. I've loved this vacation, but I will definitely be ready to get back to Melrose Place."

Alison smiled JUST a bit and took the fruit, having a bite before replying.

Apparently she believed that the best way to figure this out was by better understanding the past; a sound judgement that a son of an exploror like Magnus would appreciate. This past involved a deeper study of Barbara Minerva, a damned strong and apparently IMMORTAL woman who laid down her own life to help them not so long ago before being reborn as an Amazon. He looked upong the assemblage of history and nodded as she continued, string the images and information in to his still near perfect-recall mind. As he studied, Alison continued.

You've been doing really well with not upsetting her. Take it from the precog, it really IS just a "matter of time" before she is able to tolerate and trust you as a team mate. but I dont see you two ever being "good friends".

Funny thing is, I don't NEED her to like me now. I simply want her to be OK; that is my wish. How she feels about me cannot be undone, not by me anyway. And causing you and Morgan grief over the issue is simply counterproductive. She will feel about me that ways she feels when she feels it, simple as that. And that is just fine.

Nicolas' response showed the precog the wisdom of him spending time with Isis. The idea of him being able to live with the situation as it was now was unthinkable before he left. He voice lowered a bit as he spoke next, obviously trying to make certain that his idea he had would only be heard easily by Alison.

I DID come here with a plan as well...may help, may not, but cannot hurt. The two of us are the two greatest TK users on the planet as far as I can tell. I am wondering if we could combine forces and do something out of the box?

I am thinking of us making a telekinetic "snapshot" of the entire island at a timestamp...then take another one at a later time once we notice something and compare them. Even if we do not get the WHO, we can analyze the results and perhaps gather forensic evidence, sorth through it, and find some way to see what the characteristics the one we are seeking might have. What do you think?

Morgan: A nap would be nice. Stormy weather is good sleeping weahter. Outside of my time on Aerie following Barbas...I can honestly say i have not had THIS much time to actually REST in ages! This mansion is truly amazing.

"I'm glad one of us is."

Ava quipped, not meaning to sound like a bitch, but just stating fact.

"On second thought....I think a stiff drink would suffice."

Walking toward the cart of alcoholic beverages that was located across the room, everyone began to discuss all the mysterious events that had been taking place the past few weeks. Picking up a glass tumbler, Ava began to pour herself some Bourbon as Nicolas excused himself to go check on Alison. Downing what was the equivalent of 4 shots in one take, the liquid burned her throat causing her to wince just slightly and shake her head.

Delilah: Do you really think it's that big of a deal?

Ava scoffed humorously, pouring the same amount of Bourbon as she had before.

Cameron: "When is it NOT that big of a deal with us. One minute makeup is being left out or clothes, or paintings have gone missing, the next it's some horrible Kleptomaniac Hell Goddess with a need for revenge because one of us is apparantly their sibling."

Downing the drink once again, Ava managed to laugh despite the reoccurring burn to her throat.

"He's right--that deserves a drink."

She stated before turning around, holding a clean glass tumbler in her free hand. Tossing it in Cameron's direction, Ava smirked.

"Though I don't like how you're insinuating that this possible psychotic poltergeist is a goddess...[cocking a brow] but then again...I can see how you came to that conclusion."

Shrugging her shoulder up almost playfully, her statement was a jab at her own expense; seeing as how she has time and again become outwardly violent toward a few members of the six [namely Nicolas and Mike].

Pouring Cameron some Bourbon before pouring herself some more, she raised her glass in a "cheers" fashion before finishing it off once again.

"All I know is i'm not getting a stitch of sleep because of this entity. She's literally tormenting Onyx so much the poor cat needs to be sedated in order for me to get any rest. I'm thinking of moving her back to Arie until we figure out who Casper The Bitchy Ghost is and what they want....[pausing, after 12 shots in less than 5 minutes, Ava was starting to feel the effects of the alcohol] then again, I really don't think i'll have much trouble sleeping tonight."

Ava: Though I don't like how you're insinuating that this possible psychotic poltergeist is a goddess...but then again...I can see how you came to that conclusion.

[Cameron smirked]

"Well.. this vacation has given Cassadine a sense of humor! I like it!"

Prophet took the glass of bourbon and slammed it down before finishing it and setting the empty glass down on the table.

"But Bourbon? A little too fiery for this guy. I prefer my gin.. Any takers?"

Cameron headed over to the bar and began to fiddle around with the bottles.

Ava: All I know is i'm not getting a stitch of sleep because of this entity. She's literally tormenting Onyx so much the poor cat needs to be sedated in order for me to get any rest. I'm thinking of moving her back to Arie until we figure out who Casper The Bitchy Ghost is and what they want....then again, I really don't think i'll have much trouble sleeping tonight.

[Cameron laughed heartily]

"No kidding! When did you become a Banger Sister?"

Finding the liquor of his choice, he began to mix himself a gin and tonic.

"And I wish it was that easy for me.. I haven't had a peaceful night sleep since we got to this place... too much sitting around...alone time. It's amazing what the mind goes to when left to wander...especially when you're a telepath.."

[resting his elbows on the bar]

"But nevermind the trials and tribulations of an aging narcissist, whatever this is, if it has my SISTER worried, then it has me worried, things have only just begun to calm down since Del--" [taking a moment to internally curse himself]since the Viper caper, if something is going on, better to figure it out now and deal with it before it becomes any bigger of an issue...."

[taking a sip of his drink and letting out a satisfactory AHH!]

"THAT'S the stuff..."

in the observatory

<< Morgan looked at Delilah and Cameron in disbelief.>>

Of course it's a big deal. You of all people should know better. Unexplained phenomena that CAN be detected is one thing, but this is something else all together different and YOUR sister [ looking at Cameron] and long time friend, former team mate [ looking at Delilah] has to bear the burden of it because it's happening in HER mansion, where WE'VE been staying as her guests. You showed up on her doorstep following Viper and have been here ever since. Don't you think you should do something to repay her hospitality?

<< Ava was less "devil may care"...she was annoyed and tired. understandibly so. >>

I know this has been unusually difficult for you, given your rapport with all the animals. Poor onyx and the rest of the creatures on the mansion grounds not to mention little tinkerbell.

<< tink was still laying contentedly in Morgan's lap just now.>>

we here in this room should know by now that even when the animals are reacting so strongly to something that we havent been able to find YET that its something we should look into.

and Cameron, what's all this about wanting to get back to Melrose Place? you werent even THERE when we first moved in! and besides << rolling her eyes >> there's no guarantee that even if I teleport us from Greece to L.A. that even in that split second, you wont find a way to disappear, get captured by some malevolent being and used as bait for us or decide to go soul searching in another dimension...AGAIN.

<< Ava wasnt the only one capable of bitchy observations :p >>

<< It was different for Morgan, who had been on leave from the team following the trauma of Barbas. Her return from Aerie to Minerva's was due to the emergency with Delilah. One would think she'd been chomping at the chance to get back "in action" but after everything she'd been through...she found herself much more calm and centered.>>

<< Cameron and Delilah were ready to get back to "life"....and Morgan looked at Delilah with a calm expression but in her mind she did not believe for one second that Delilah was ready. She hadnt once said anything about her experience...her suicide or her time w/Ororo & Hecate and no one had pushed her into it. Was it time to say something about it? >>

I'm waiting for Nicolas to return with an update from Alison. If any of you doesnt feel like staying, feel free to leave and do whatever around the mansion but i highly doubt any of you wants to venture out into this STORM.

[Cameron sighed at Morgan's words]

"Really Morgan? I wasn't aware that I wasn't concerned. I AM concerned, and that's WHY I am here. I'm NOT storming off somewhere. I'm HERE.

Morgan: and Cameron, what's all this about wanting to get back to Melrose Place? you werent even THERE when we first moved in! and besides, there's no guarantee that even if I teleport us from Greece to L.A. that even in that split second, you wont find a way to disappear, get captured by some malevolent being and used as bait for us or decide to go soul searching in another dimension...AGAIN.

[slamming his hand down on the bar firmly]

"Yeah, and it just gets FUNNIER everytime somebody mentions it, but let's NOT forget that NONE of us here is without fault at something. Ava's tried to kill half the team, YOU'VE [pointing at Morgan] tried to destroyed the world, oh wait, I forgot that's all MY fault, Nicholas attempted RAPE, Haleigh has SLEPT with half the team, I mean do I need to go on? Nobody is here without fault or chip on their shoulder, so I don't understand the need for you to keep bringing this up. I've made my decisions, they are my own, and I don't expect anyone to understand them, or agree with them. I can only be who I am right at this very moment, and if you or anybody else doesn't want to accept that, then FINE. I guess I can't choose how you react, but I REALLY wish you'd maybe consider the fact that DESPITE my many flaws, I do absolutely care about each and every one of you..."

He hadn't meant to outburst like that, but his lack of sleep coupled with the nightly episodes of mental distress, being faced with most of the things he had failed at were starting to stretch him thin.

"I didn't mean to go off like that, Morgan.. I really didn't. I'm just.. fucking...exhausted..."

Cameron rested his chin in his hand, and took another LONG, lingering sip of his drink.

Cameron: "Well.. this vacation has given Cassadine a sense of humor! I like it!"

"Don't get used to it, King."

With a cocky smile as if to say she could easily go back to being a cold-hearted bitch to him, Ava poured herself one more round of Bourbon as Cameron slammed back his share.

Cameron: "But Bourbon? A little too fiery for this guy. I prefer my gin.. Any takers?"

Slamming back the Bourbon, that shot was particularly rough, causing the brunette to shudder and wince.

[with an almost horse voice] "What can I say? I like it hard."

Clearing her burning throat, the Bourbon was definitely winning this round. Beyond buzzed and feeling far more relaxed than before, deciding to have a night cap definitely trumped her previous plan to go to sleep.

Morgan: I know this has been unusually difficult for you, given your rapport with all the animals. Poor onyx and the rest of the creatures on the mansion grounds not to mention little tinkerbell.

"This thing is paying particular attention to Onyx for some reason, which is why I want to move her. As for the other animals, I think once Onyx is gone i'll have a better time disconnecting myself from their anxieties."

Slowly sauntering away from the beverage cart, Ava made her way over to the large sectional sofa that Morgan was sitting on and plopped down.

Cameron: "And I wish it was that easy for me.. I haven't had a peaceful night sleep since we got to this place... too much sitting around...alone time. It's amazing what the mind goes to when left to wander...especially when you're a telepath.."

"Sexual fantasies do not count as tribulations, King."

Brushing her hair back away from her shoulders, it was becoming awfully hot in the observatory. Unzipping her black fitted long sleeved shirt, Ava tossed it next to her on the couch. Now wearing a simple black cami, it was obvious the goddess was full on intoxicated now. :p

"God knows I could use some of those right now."

Blunt and definitely unable [or willing] to hold her tongue, Ava rested her head back lazily as Morgan began her own snarky remarks at Cameron.

Morgan: and Cameron, what's all this about wanting to get back to Melrose Place? you werent even THERE when we first moved in! and besides << rolling her eyes >> there's no guarantee that even if I teleport us from Greece to L.A. that even in that split second, you wont find a way to disappear, get captured by some malevolent being and used as bait for us or decide to go soul searching in another dimension...AGAIN.

"HA!"

Finding Morgan's comment funny....obviously Cameron did not. He quickly retaliated with a vicious rant about everyone's faults on the team, including her own. That brought Ava back to reality...sort of. Nibbling her bottom lip quietly, Cameron quickly apologized.

Cameron: "I didn't mean to go off like that, Morgan.. I really didn't. I'm just.. fucking...exhausted..."

[dryly] "Drink more. It helps."

<< Morgan looked at Cameron with an unwavering glare of contempt.>>

You're right. But you know what I think?

<< Morgan leans forward, extends her arm out and forward, with her index finger pointed.>>

<<ZARK!>>

<< unleashing an eldritch bolt, she blasts Cameron where he stands.>>

you're MUCH more usefull as a TARGET than you are a man!

Ava: << looking with surprise at first, she then turns to Morgan.>> Good shoot, Spell!

Haleigh: Bullseye!

<< they clap and Morgan bows her head gracefully with a look of satisfaction on her face.>>

<< the chimes of magick and din of the eldritch bolt ring and echo as ....>>

BACK IN REALITY

<< Morgan looks at Cameron with an unwavering glare of contempt.>>

Now that you're FINISHED, would you like to borrow one of my tampons? is it that time of the month dear?

<< she waves her hand dismissively and scoffs as Cameron then apologizes for his abrupt outburst.>>

you should know by now, that I dont hesitate to speak my mind and I'm sorry if you can't handle the fact that your constant appearing and disappearing is a source of ANNOYANCE for the people you claim to care about as THEY care about YOU.

Yes, we ALL have a laundry list of mistakes and sins among us, what's your point? that has nothing to do with the fact that you just sat here and basically said that what was going on at this mansion was no big deal and you were ready to get back to melrose place.

Don't be mad at ME because I called you on it. Your sister may be too distracted to bust your balls, but I'M not. And if you think I'm the ONLY one who is thinking what i SAID, think again. << knowing that Haleigh more than a little agreed with her.>> You're part of this team and you have a responsibility to US...to your SISTER just as WE have a responsibility to YOU.

<< Morgan spoke with unapologetic bluntness.>>

<< speaking of responsibility...she felt her own guilty about Delilah resurfacing. Why didnt she just take Delilah aside and have a private talk with her about everything? If ANYONE could do that with D, surely it was Morgan. What was she afraid of? Beside the fact that they ALL couldnt help but see Delilah as being this fragile flower in danger of snapping at the stem at any moment know. The suicide and the issue surrounding it had touched them all on an emotional level. It wasnt JUST Delilah's guilt over killing Bishop, it was what the man had done to them all to change their lives forever.>>

Look, I'm going to go see what Alison is doing myself. << Standing up, she craddles Tinkerbell and nuzzels her before carefully handing her over to Delilah.>>

Delilah....if you're not sleeping in a few hours, I'd like to talk with you...privately.

<< she smiled at her friend before looking to the others.>>

I'll see you later.

<< and to Cameron.>>

Good job, Sally Field. Pick up your Academy Award for most dynamic bi polar drama queen on your way out.

<< tossing her hair back as she turns and walks away, she steps through the door way and disappears around the corner, on her way to Alison's executive study.>>

the executive study

:: Alison nodded with understanding. Nicolas was calm, had a clear view of things and understood the reality of his standing with Delilah, accepted it and adapted accordingly. It was a pleasing development that justified the small sliver of hope she had for the young man even through his worst moments. Infuriating though he may be, he had promise and now he was realizing it.::

:: she didnt need to say anything about that.::

:: on the subject of the island, the mansion, Alison thought it was a sound idea.::

Yes. That's why I retrieved the floor plans and some photos of the island, the mansion and even the ocean from the past. I'd like to do a comparison on as deep a level as I can, and with my own power as a precog, I can try to "see" any significant events or people that occurred during the time of any given photo we're looking at. SOMETHING is behind all the strangeness going on here. Barbara was out of the ordinary, as is this mansion, as are WE. There's no reason why WE cant figure this out....and like i told Haleigh, I HAVE to.

The safety of Pandora and the catacombs' contents are my top priority.

:: Between Nicolas and Alison, using TK to conduct a thorough snap shot of the island, the mansion from top to bottom and even the waters around the ocean would be an involved task but hardly impossible.::

If we're going to do this, I should at least speak to the others and let them know that I will be busy with this and that it is important I am not disturbed unless there's an absolute EMERGENCY.

:: of course in her seer's eye, she knew that with Delilah and the casualty moving across time threads toward HER, that "emergency" may be arriving at anytime. She'd already told Haleigh this a week ago.::

It's time for my guards to do a shift change. I want to check on the catacombs and Pandora before I get started with this. Follow me, Nicolas.

:: she says as she gets up, leaving everything she had on her desk and leading the way out of the study, past the statue in the corner. ::

Nicolas listened as she responded, drawing a plan of action incorporating his ideas along some ideas of her own. It was succinct and well-thought out. When she got up, he walked with her as asked, taking a last glance and committing the floorplans to memory as he moved.

WE will figure this out Ali. Not just YOU any more, you have backup.

Haleigh and Zach were late for lunch, and they were giggling and enjoying some private joke like only lovers do when they arrived. It was clear they were drawing closer during the downtime, and it seemed they were nearing the level of intimacy they'd shared when they'd gotten engaged-- back before Sharon had returned with a revelation that turned everything upside down. They got to the gardens in high spirits and apologized for their tardiness, then assembled their plates and sat down, but only had minutes before the storm REALLY started to threaten, and everyone decided to head inside.

They both took their plates with them, and once inside, sank side by side into a cozy loveseat to finish eating as the others discussed resting. Annoyed 'haunting' aside, Haleigh felt very well rested. Since Zach had arrived, she'd slept soundly every night, and she hadn't had the nightmare about Delilah in a fortnight. Good sleep and great sex -- on top of the fact that no one on the team currently hated her guts, which was a rare moment indeed -- had been just the thing Haleigh needed after something as grueling as the Viper caper. The struggle for control, the sense of doom, the failure and her subsequent DEATH/REANIMATION, her RESURRECTION at the hands of Malice.... and her new power advancement since then was enough to rock Haleigh to the core. She had been BARELY coming to terms with it when they'd all been hit with the whammy of Delilah's suicide attempt.

Nicolas excused himself to take Alison some food and moral support. Haleigh warned him to announce himself clearly, smirking to herself as she did so. The group discussed the haunting of Minerva's, and Delilah and Cameron were notably less anxious about it than the others.

Delilah: Do you really think it's that big of a deal?

Haleigh was about to say 'nothing we can't handle when it stops pussyfooting around', but Cameron interjected with something that could easily be either the TRUTH or a joke, or any combination thereof.

"Well I have accounted for all my siblings."

She deadpanned, as her sister started draining a bottle a bourbon at and alarming rate. By the time she'd downed her THIRD glass, Haleigh was about ready to comment, but Ava cut herself off and Haleigh watched with mild concern as Ava's blood-alcohol concentration began to rise. On one hand, Ava was a grown ass woman with the right to drink herself silly if she wanted, but on the other, she was also Haleigh's little sister and the instinct to intervene was pretty strong.

Morgan admonished their lax attitude and remarked on Cameron's restlessness, hanging a lantern on his inability to approach the idea of being dependable. Cameron shot back.

Cameron: Yeah, and it just gets FUNNIER everytime somebody mentions it, but let's NOT forget that NONE of us here is without fault at something. Ava's tried to kill half the team, YOU'VE [Morgan] tried to destroy the world, oh wait, that's all MY fault, Nicolas attempted RAPE, Haleigh has SLEPT with half the team--

"The pot reproaches the kettle, and yet they are BOTH BLACK. But you know what's REALLY interesting? It's that of all my very legitimate faults, you mention my promiscuity, as if that's the most heinous of anything I've ever done, AS IF WHO I FUCK IS NOW --OR EVER WILL BE-- ANY OF YOUR FUCKING BUSINESS. But let's put it on display for everyone to see, shall we? YOU are the only man on this team that I haven't taken to bed. I don't have a problem with that. NOBODY ELSE HERE has a problem with that. The ONLY PERSON interested in declaring the sovereign of my WHOREDOM is YOU."

One step forward, two steps back, and just like that, their pleasant gathering had taken a sour turn. Zach took her hand gently, and she exhaled the annoyance in a huff of indignation. Morgan replied and Cameron apologized for the outburst, as Ava buzzed along blithely on the sofa. Morgan excused herself to go check on Alison. Everybody stared uncomfortably at everyone else. Haleigh set down her plate.

"Delilah, would you like to play a game of chess? I'm tired of losing to Zach."

She proposes with an open smile, gesturing toward the chess table set up in the bay window of the observatory. No pressure, no hovering, no we-need-to-talk overture. Just a game of chess to distract them from the herd of giant elephants in the room.

Minerva's Mansion

<< Morgan walked, with a confident gait and that unconscious model bounce that she'd long go perfected in her step. her high heels clicked along and echoed off the pure marble floors. down one hall, around another, down stairs...and later more stairs still. There was ALOT of ground to cover, but Morgan didnt mind, she wanted to burn as much of the calories she had during lunch anyway :D>>

<< finally reaching a hall where there were massive barrel vaulted shaped windows even spaced, she walked along, passing statues as the rain fell hard outside and the lightning flashed alternately against the thunder. powerfull as the thunder was, it was muffled by the strong, sturdy structure of the mansion.>>

<< Morgan hummed "Rain" by Madonna softly. Different thoughts flowed through her mind. Cameron could be such a bastard, and yet, when he put his mind to it, he could show that he WAS one of the founders of this team and a true asset. Morgan was RELIEVED that he was back with them, but she couldnt get over the pain and anguish he caused his sister ...ALL of them over his repeated disappearences and then to find that he had been held captive by Barbas to torture Alison...It made Morgan think of how her father, Christopher had held, experimented upon and tortured Blaze (Foxfire)...her sister...his DAUGHTER. She didnt feel that Cameron understood that while he could do whatever he wanted, the choices he made not ONLY determined the life HE lead, but would ALSO effect those who were emotionally invested in him, primarily ALISON, his only living relative now. and when Alison hurt...MORGAN and the rest of the Six would certainly be effected by that. >>

<< onward she went not paying attention to the guards at various posts who were watching her and some were discussing quietly among themselves how they'd like to do this or that with/to her. If she could turn away from Nicolas, as good looking as HE was...then even the BEST looking among these MORTAL guards would have less than no chance in hell of capturing her attention.>>

<< it wouldnt be long before she heard Alison and Nicolas' voices. faint and far off at first, but soon she saw them coming toward her just as she was making her way.>>

Alison! Nicolas.

<< they finally met up, stopping just in front of another large window. The two sorceresses hug as Nicolas looks on.>>

Morgan: I was coming to see what was going on with you. Nicolas went ahead but I wanted to see if I could help and I....

Alison: I know, Cameron pissed you off. Somethings never change eh? << Morgan sighs as she looks up at the ceiling>>

Morgan: He can be a real bastard at times.

Alison: Don't I know it? don't we ALL know it? :: she shakes her head.:: but at least I have him here now...I can keep an eye on him no matter WHERE he is and if need be, tie him down to keep him from running off on some cockamamie mission of self reflection.

Morgan: See Nicolas? you're not the only one who pisses people off to no end!

<< Morgan says in a semi joking tone before winking at him.>>

Alison: I was on my way to see everyone, Nicolas is going to help me with my latest attempt to uncover the mystery of the haunting going on around here.

Morgan: well I'll give us a lift. Save you some time.

<< and with that, Morgan summons a stepping disc, teleporting the three back up to the observatory where Ava and Cameron were enjoying their shots and Delilah and Haleigh were playing a game of chess while Tinkerbell insisted on laying on the table with the chess board, curiously watching the chess pieces.>>

Everyone, Alison was on her way to see US just now so I brought her here.

the observatory

:: Looking around the room at them all, and already aware of what had gone on moments ago, Alison took a moment to reflect on how everyone (almost) was together under one roof again, and that they had enjoyed the benefit of downtime, there were some things that just wouldnt ever change. It had been nearly 2 months and Alison's contact with the team was still as sparce as if they were in Melrose and she was here. It was a reminder of how her destiny took precedence over her ties to the team she helped bring together but even with the "haunting" , Alison still had Delilah on her mind.::

Sorry I missed lunch. I trust everything was well prepared though. :: knowing that her expert staff would please any guest she had at the mansion.::

Delilah, how are you feeling?

:: Alison reached down to gently scratch Tinkerbell's head as the siamese bleated a bit for attention.::

:: after a few moments::

Guys...I have some serious work to do over the two hours or so. Nicolas has volunteered to help me. I can't be disturbed unless its an absolute emergency that involves the mansion, pandora ....:: looking at Haleigh hoping she'd pick up on her SILENT visual cue:: or DELILAH

Meantime, my home is your home. The guards and staff will carry on just fine as always, no need to interact with them unless t here's a threat to the mansion and they might be able to use your super powered assistance.

It's nice to have nearly everyone back under the same roof.

:: even Zach was among them. Only Sharon, Firebird, Karen, Mike and Alycia were missing.::

I hope it doesnt get too boring for you here. There's lots to see and do. :: she thought for a moment and then...:: Cameron, try to keep yourself under control after you're doing drinking enough alcohol to make even ALEXIS QUARTERMAINE proud. The last thing we need around here is another sex scandal but then again, with Haleigh in the room ANYTHING'S possible.

:: smirking as she ribbed the hybrid a bit.::

Seriously though, I just wanted wanted to stop by because I missed lunch. Im sorry about that, but I really need to get to the bottom of the weirdness that's going on around here.

for reasons you might not even begin to realize.

Lounging on the sofa, head rested back and eyes closed, Ava hadn't felt this good in a looong time. Since her self imposed exile on Arie as a matter of fact. Though the brunette enjoyed a stiff drink every now and again, she wasn't the type to actively go out and get drunk. Usually because drunks pissed her off and she never wanted to be placed in that category. But tonight was a special night. A night of who gives a flying fuck. So as Ava relaxed sloshed on the couch, she didn't have a care in the world. Poltergeist be damned.

Feeling the familiar movement of a cat jumping up next to her, Ava opened her eyes to see Tinkerbell next to her. Obviously she got bored with Haleigh and Delilah's game--looking over at the two sitting there in deep thought in front of the board, Ava could see why. Being sent to Manchester Prep by Stavros as a child, chess ranked up there with oxygen and food when it came to importance. Even intoxicated Ava could see one move that would lead to Haleigh's check mate.

Scooping up the cat, Tinkerbell instantly began purring. She had a great rapport with Morgan's feline; mainly due to her tie to animals. Tinkerbell felt very at ease with the elemental and knew if she wanted something Ava would get it for her quicker than most. Gently petting Tink, the cats eyes closed showing it's content.

"Tinky Winky.....wait...wasn't that a Teletubbie?"

Opening her eyes, Tinkerbell craned her neck around giving Ava what most would consider a "bitch please" look, if a cat could give one. :p Even emphasizing with a huff.

"Sorry, sorry. Auntie Ava isn't exactly in her right mind."

Tinkerbell accepted the answer and went back to closing her eyes, enjoying the attention that she was receiving.

Looking over at the chess game once again, Delilah and Haleigh were still in the same place they were in before. No pieces moved, no check mate made. Sighing, she couldn't take it any longer.

"Pssssst. PSSSST! [in a overly loud whisper] DELILAH! Rook to G-6. She moves her queen to D-5 leaving you open to capture her kiiiiinnnnggg."

Seeing the look Haleigh was giving her, Ava shrugged.

"What?.."

Suddenly Morgan appeared via stepping disc with Alison and Nicolas, quickly diverting attention away from Ava's helpful cheating. Alison apologized for not making it to lunch and expressed that she needed time alone in order to figure out what entity was haunting them. Hell, Ava had no problem with that. Whatever Alison could do she was supportive of.

Haleigh: The pot reproaches the kettle, and yet they are BOTH BLACK. The ONLY PERSON interested in declaring the sovereign of my WHOREDOM is YOU.

Cameron sighed and laughed.

"Ooh, that one HURT Buttercup. Yeah, I think Morgan definitely didn't have a problem with you sleeping with Nicholas, oh and YOU definitely didn't have a problem with Zach sleeping with Sharon Kelly...oh AND Claudia Zacchara.. or did you forget? Your vagina has gotten the team into far more emotional turmoil than my running away, the fact that I stated it out loud, is neither here nor there. I don't have a secret agenda to get you back, Toots, and as far as i'm concerned, you're damaged goods, so calm down."

He took another shot. Morgan's words didn't sting him like they used to. He had learned awhile ago, that when push came to shove, Morgan and Cameron could work extremely well and harmoniously together, but that their personal relationship would always remain a little stagnant. They both got on each other's nerves, and they BOTH knew which buttons to push, and that was just how it was. Neither good or bad. He respected Morgan as much as his sister, he just showed it differently.

Morgan had dispersed and Haleigh went to play chess with Zach and Delilah. Just great. It was a strange day in his life when he realized that the only person he was connecting with in the room was AVA CASSADINE. There was a time they couldn't even be in the same ROOM together and here they were drinking shots and spouting out one liners, now she was proceeding to get even more hammered and cheat at Chess. What a weird fricken day.

At that time Alison arrived with Morgan and Nicolas, and Cameron was worried round two of the insults would be starting up again, so he slumped into the couch.

Alison: Cameron, try to keep yourself under control after you're doing drinking enough alcohol to make even ALEXIS QUARTERMAINE proud. The last thing we need around here is another sex scandal but then again, with Haleigh in the room ANYTHING'S possible.

Cameron laughed out loud. He WAS feeling the alcohol quite a bit at this point.

"Alley Cat, I haven't begun to be buzzed.. our dear friend AVA however, has enough booze in her system to make Rush Limbaugh blush! But thanks for your concern.. but... i'm sorry.. I don't mean to start any tension in your house.."

[smirking]

"Did you figure anything out?"

Cameron: Ooh, that one HURT buttercup.

"Oh kiss my ASS. I wasn't TRYING to hurt you. [turning her gaze from the game to lock eyes with him] You'll know when I'm TRYING to hurt you Cameron King, because you'll DAMN WELL feel it."

She turned her attention back to the game, as he went on drudging up old pains-- things he wasn't even around for and therefore didn't even affect him, things he clearly didn't understand, things that shouldn't concern him since he 'wasn't trying to get her back'. and yet... he kept fixating on it! Haleigh moved her knight out of the way to open a lane. Cameron kept on.

Cameron: Your vagina has gotten the team into far more emotional turmoil than my running away, the fact that I stated it aloud is neither here nor there.

"Oh really?"

She began, this time not taking her eyes off the move Delilah was about to make. Her tone was flat, calm and controlled.

"Just because you weren't here to see it, doesn't mean your leaving didn't cause the rest of us some strife. I know this might blow your solipsistic little mind, but when you close your eyes, or run off to find yourself, the rest of us not only continue to exist, but we even continue to experience and feel and grow! And even though YOU weren't here to witness it, we mourned you when we thought you were dead, we searched for you when we thought you were missing, and we came for you when we thought you were in trouble. THAT is why we keep mentioning it, hoping that MAYBE THIS TIME, you'll stay-- because we CARE. If we didn't, we wouldn't say anything. So yes.... to my everlasting shame, my sleeping with Nicolas disappointed EVERYONE I love, and broke an undeserving heart. But DON'T THINK that your disappearance hasn't done the same, OVER AND OVER AGAIN."

Cameron: I don't have a secret agenda to get you back, Toots, and as far as I'm concerned, you're damaged goods, so calm down."

"Well GOOD, because I can't have you dragging my love around anymore, so AT LEAST we're on the same page now."

Ava: Pssssst. PSSSST! [in a overly loud whisper] DELILAH! Rook to G-6. She moves her queen to D-5 leaving you open to capture her kiiiiinnnnggg.

"Shush! She doesn't need your help. Why don't you just lay your head down and take a nap."

Morgan: Everyone, Alison was on her way to see US just now so I brought her here.

Alison apologized for missing lunch and updated them on what she was going to do. She mentioned that she was not to be disturbed unless it was an emergency and made eye contact meaningfully with Haleigh, who gave a nearly imperceptible nod.

Alison: The last thing we need around here is another sex scandal but then again, with Haleigh in the room ANYTHING'S possible.

[with deep sarcasm] "Oh yes, I was just about to post a sign up sheet for the orgy I'm planning later. I'd invite you to join, but I'm sure you'd rather just watch."

Morgan got up in arms.

Spellbinder said:
Of course it's a big deal. You of all people should know better. Unexplained phenomena that CAN be detected is one thing, but this is something else altogether different and YOUR sister [ looking at Cameron] and longtime friend, former team mate [ looking at Delilah] has to bear the burden of it because it's happening in HER mansion, where WE'VE been staying as her guests. You showed up on her doorstep following Viper and have been here ever since. Don't you think you should do something to repay her hospitality?

“Whoa whoa whoa – Morgan, of COURSE I want to help Alison any way I can. I’m just saying, there’s no need to get ourselves worked up until we know there’s something to be worked up about. That’s all I meant.”

Sometimes it was painfully clear that Morgan and Blaze were sisters. They shared that fiery temper that was quick to anger. But things seemed to be back to normal on the team. Ava was drunk, Cameron was throwing a tantrum, and Haleigh and Morgan were pissed at him – must be Tuesday. She sighed. Of all of them, Delilah was probably the most anxious to get back to real life – a normal life. There was nothing she wanted more than that. And for once, she wasn’t going to wait for the other shoe to drop, nervous and jumping at shadows. She would deal with whatever was up next for them when it came, and until then, she was going to pretend everything was fine and dandy.

Morgan asked to speak with her later, and handed Tink to her. She cuddled the Siamese and nodded. Then she walked over to where Cameron stood, and gave him a sympathetic half smile.

“Don’t worry about it Cameron. We’re all glad to have you back, even if we don’t always show it.”

Haleigh spoke harsh words to Cam, and he gave back in kind. Delilah gave him a disappointed look.

Haleigh asked her to play chess, and she nodded. Moving over to the table she sat Tink down on the table and the kitty watched curiously, almost as if she were playing herself. Ava began dishing out chess advice and Delilah shushed her good naturedly. At some point there were going to have to surgically remove the bottle from Ava’s hand, before her liver seceded from her body.

After a time Morgan and Alison suddenly appeared.

Harbinger said:
Delilah, how are you feeling?

She glanced from the chess table.

“Oh I’m fine, thank you. Though it’s not easy playing chess against a computer. I think she cheats.”

Alison was clearly on top of the situation on the island, and she apologized for missing their lunch.

“We know you’re busy, Alison, but it would be nice to get to visit with you while we here.”

She smiled, as if they were just old friends here for a reunion.

As Haleigh finally beat her with a crushing move on her king, Delilah turned to Morgan.

“Ready for that chat?”

Morgan and Nicolas weren't the only ones checking up on Alison. Little did they know that a fourth pair of ears were listening to their every word.

That Nicolas King was there nearly interested her. Gustav Magnusson's adopted son certainly had quite a lot of money - but as it was new money, she only gave him one fleeting thought.

Harbinger said:
It's time for my guards to do a shift change. I want to check on the catacombs and Pandora before I get started with this.

Those words lifted her stormy spirits with glee. FINALLY. She would have it soon and then she could get off this god-forsakened island. As the two left the study, Bianca followed, sight unseen and watched as they met Morgan.

They teleported away - but no matter. She knew where the precog was going. She made her way to the catacombs.

She felt an enormous sense of relief - everything was falling into place as she had expected. And who knows? Perhaps she'd be back sleeping in her own bed that very night.
