When I get access to my computer again, I want to update some of the forum and board banners. Some are just way old while others I remember just throwing together and not liking lol.

Also, I really love the colors for the Silver Surfer and Harry Potter board wide schemes, but since those movies are super old, I was thinking of using the actual scheme but just changing the banners? I know Vil says it's easier to make schemes to match the banners, but i've gotten pretty good at matching up banner colors to schemes. :)

And maybe with some of the 'hidden' schemes, doing the same thing. Just so we can have more variety for people to choose from since there's more active members now. Without overloading Vil into making new schemes. We could just utilize the ones we have now. I was even thinking a Buffy scheme would be cool.

Also, I know Farrah likes the Madonna main scheme, but since Confessions is an older CD, I was thinking of just updating the Madonna scheme with newer pics, especially with her single 'Celebration' out.

Is that okay with the two of you?

sounds fine with me, i trust your judgement but i just HAVE to ask that when you do Plasma Screen, be SURE to include Elizabeth Montgomery in the banner...whatever ELSE you do, just include her lol!

and i think its time to redo Great Escape too. the scheme and the banner.
 
I was actually planning on redoing the Great Escape and incorperating comic pictures and comic movie pictures. Since comics are not just in print, but on screen now as well.

And i'll definitely include EM. ;) No worries. :)

Some of the banners I want to keep [like the moonlight lounge], but I just want to edit it a bit. Just to sorta revamp the look of the board since we have new members.

i liked what we had in Great Escape up till now, it was an idea given to me by a personal friend of mine and i hadnt seen anything like it online on other comic boards. its a shame more people didnt appreciate it but it was very well done. I'm ready for a new look now.

I look forward to what you come up with.
 
I know this is the same thing I've said before, but I don't see the reasoning behind changing the banners for the board-wide styles we have. MORE choice seems like the better way to go rather than getting rid of something someone might like for something they might not. I use the Charmed and Harry Potter ones, for example, and there's no guarantee (not because of your skill Sam, just because of personal tastes) that I would like what they were replaced with. Personally (JMHO) you should just make the banners you want and we'll add them to the choice.

And I'd be sort of against using most of the unused styles, cause they're not that great. I'd rather do new.

I'm all for updating the look of the forums that have specific styles assigned to them. Again, I think you should just make the banners you want and we can make the color schemes fit them. I've gotten better over the years at the colors and if we're going to facelift the forums might as well go all the way with it, instead of just changing graphics.

Maybe a new default style also?

As for Buffy...I'm not in the current mood to deal with that one lol
 
i like the idea of getting newer looks because being we're an "entertainment" board, movies and tv are always changing, music too. the only areas that can (and should ) stay the same are red carpet, moonlight lounge, electronic express and the six.

and i also like getting new things because both of you have been at this for a while and it goes without saying that with improved skill, will come eye catching banners and schemes. as long as its not more WORK for either of you, I prefer changing things up every so often.

if there are ones you'd like us to keep, that's fine too. but i do think we should get some new things in here.

and do you mind if sam creates a buffy banner/scheme? it would be just another option for defult. and speaking of default, i like the current one we have...especially the banner. maybe we can just modify the scheme a bit.
 
Just throwing it out there that Rana, who granted has sensitive eyes, can't use the Red Carpet forum cause it is too bright for her lol. I'd love to change that one up, but it's really difficult to do an all red style.

I'm not saying don't change the "individual forum" ones. I'm just saying, if we're going to change the banners, might as well re-do the color scheme as well. Otherwise, it's not really changing.

And yes, by all means, let's add some new choices for the board-wide ones (the ones like Madonna, Charmed etc). But I just don't see the necessity of getting rid of the ones that are already there. It's not like there's a limit to the number of choices we can have... If it's a matter of not wanting two Madonna styles, for example, then that's another story and I can see updating.

And I also was just saying that the unused color schemes are unused for a reason and it would sort of be a waste of Sam's time to design banners around them lol
 
PS How come we can't change Moonlight Lounge and Electronica Express' graphics? Not that I think anything is wrong with them...might try to redo the color scheme though.
 
I like the banner we have for the moonlight lounge and electronica express if the color schemes can be updated suitably to coordinate thats fine with me but i like the banners and buttons for both those forums that we have in place.

<< sigh>> i dont want rana to have a hard time viewing any part of the board, but i do love the red of Red Carpet. its so luxurious to me if we have teo change it, i still want to keep the pearl white background.

thats fine and it makes sense. i think she was just suggesting one way of doing it so as not to overload you with doing so many schemes.

we worked through this before, with great results. we can do it now too. :)
 
Well I would personally like to change the red carpet banner because that banner was made back when I STARTED doing graphics with adobe LOL. I will stick to the same red carpet style with the papparazi and celebs, but it'll look a lot sharper.

I just suggested using the other schemes to keep you from having to do a lot of work Vil. But if you want to make all new schemes, i'm all for that. However, I really LOVE the Desperate Housewives and Soap Opera color schemes, you did a fantastic job on them. So would I be able to just update the banners and keep the color schemes the way they are? Pretty please!! :D :D Plus, I think the DH scheme isn't even available for everyone to view....so they probably won't realize it's old. ;) :p

Like I said in the avatar thread, i'm dog sitting for my co-worker at her house for three weeks, so access to my personal computer is limited. But i'll be steadily working on the new banners. It just might not be right away. ;)

yes. those are fine the way they are (even though green is not a color i like, it IS well done in that forum)

hey vil, i'm probably going to start making some of the new scheme banners tonight. i'll just post them in here as i get them done. :)
 
I just wanted to bump this so Farrah can see the banners that i've come up with thus far. Vil will be working on the schemes [obviously lol].

Tonight i'll be putting together Buffy, Heroes, Vampire Diaries, and a comic banner. If I have time, i'll see if I can also do Transformers and Friends one. But it depends on if my adobe starts acting up again. ;)
