Ororo's ghost story II: Outbreak

As Mike was explaining to Delilah what had happened. Morgan and Blaze started in. he'd had a LONG day, and he'd had enough. his voice was even and betrayed no rea anger, but he would not just let her get by this time.

Morgan: She was an INNOCENT Michael. Cant you people in the RPD do ANYTHING right? or all you good for is HARRASSING widows and their daughters and being a day late and dollar short?

If something has happened to her....but the goddess I swear....

Try swearing to do something constructive for once instead of threatening people and leaving the work to us "mere mortals". You had a choice today, to teleport an INNOCENT friend out as well, and you chose otherwise. That left me or death for her. And until she ran from me she was ALIVE. You're welcome. Well now she is missing, that makes three. And we WILL find them all, but not with you trying to breathe misplaced hatred down my neck. So let's FOCUS on who has your mother, and Haleigh and possibly Jennifer as well.

Nicolas listened as the witch told him about herself, detailed what she'd done. And as she did so, the weight of her revelations didn't weigh on the young man, but on the older woman herself. She was moving towards despair, resignation, moving away from him emotionally, likely expecting him to abandon her at first chance.

As they reached the courtyard, she had apparently come to a decision.

Nicolas, we're outside. You can leave. Just go. Leave me here.

<< she said coldly. as she tried once more to get the young man to take himself and the kitten to escape.>>

Nicolas turned to Karen as she spoke, his eyes betraying a reddish hue. Now he was angry. Angry that he would die for something that she seemed now perfectly wiling to throw away. She was missing something...he would remind her.

Do you realize that you are the only living person who cares about me? If you die here, what is to become of me? Am I to become an orphan all over again? A THIRD time. To be left alone AGAIN?!! I say NO!!!

Nicolas leaps to a statue of a warrior in the courtyard holding a gigantic axe of perhaps 5 feet in height and 4 in width. As a monster closed in near Karen and his kitty he roared, his eyes glowing that same red as he leaped back and swung, cutting it in two at the base of the skull.

You will not leave me again. Indeed, you will find that my power is much more difficult to check now, you cannot simply send me away and I will not allow you to leave me in despair. I will die before I am simply tossed away by you, from you.

Nicolas tuned to some additional ghouls making their way to the trio, and he flattened one end of his axe into a hammer telekinetically then slammed it to the ground, causing bodies to fly back before him.

KWATHOOOOOOOOM!!!!

Karen...TELL me where your friend is. I WILL retrieve her WITH you, no matter what!!

<< Morgan stood poised as Michael attempted to rebuke her for idle threats. OHH if this was another time and place, she'd show HIM! :fdevil: and NOT in the way h e would want.>>

I beg your pardon? In case you hadnt noticed...MORTAL...

<< speaking in a hostile but hushed tone so as not to arrouse suspicion from other patrons.>>

My sister and I are supers. I couldnt just "TELEPORT" Jennifer in broad daylight in front of any unsuspecting eyes. I was going to do that TONIGHT! all you had to do was bring her here...i was going to give her some money and send her ANYWHERE she wanted to go! SHe wasnt just my secretary, she was a trusted FRIEND. She knew about Blaze and I, but OTHER people in the building DIDNT...and now you've LOST her just like the MASSIVELY INCOMPETENT job you do with anyone ELSE who needs the protection of the RPD.

<< referring to Blaze mostly.>>

I dont have time for you. You're slow and you're a mortal.

<< Blaze began to show signs of discomfort as she looked over at the cop sitting at the bar with his head down.>>

Blaze? what's the matter?

<< Blaze looked pale...>>

Blaze: Morgan...I'm just....not feeling well.

<< Blaze's anxiety was getting a foothold on her.>>

Morgan: I think you should sit down...I'll get you some water...

Blaze: No...I'll just go to the ladies room real fast...I'll be right back...

<< Morgan watched her sister leave for the ladies room. She didnt like to let Blaze out of her sight for long but she figured her fire manipulating sister could handle a trip to the ladies room by herself.>>

<< Morgan exhaled and folds her arms...fuming about Jennifer's disappearence.>>

I dont know what i'm going to DO...I...oh my PURSE

<< which was back at the table by the window they were sitting at. she walked over to retrieve it and noticed a missed call on her phone. from her MOTHER....>>

<< As Morgan looked clearly dismayed at her phone, Alison waves her hand for silence as they all look at her, wondering what is wrong.>>

terror reaches the tavern

<< the door to the tavern opens...the bell tingles.>>

<< a man comes in, dressed like a casual patron might be, but walking slowly, with his head down.>>

bartender: what a weird looking customer.

<< at that moment, the police officer sitting at the bar falls over from his stool onto the floor! his friends immediately see to him. it seems as though he's passed out drunk, but all is NOT as it seems.>>

<< as the new arrival lumbers forward, Alison waves her hand for those in "the group" to hush up. Morgan is by the window, her back turned and unaware of the new arrival.>>

<< the bartender goes up to the man and asks if needs a seat, if he's alright. then as the man seems to be moaning but not responding to him, he puts his hand on the man's shoulder attempting to get his attention.>>

<< the man looks up slowly....his eyes are now sunken in...ghostly white, his face greyed and slightly decayed! his moans turn to a growl and he LUNGES for the bartender...biting him SAVAGELY on the neck. some of the patrons gasp and rush out of the door while the bartender screams "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" and struggles with the man before forcing HIM out and shutting the door....locking it. the bell tingles once again as horrified onlookers stare in disbelief.>>

Bartender: ah....wha.....what was THAT!?

<< he staggers a bit before running over to the bar to try to find the first aid kit. a female bar tender goes to his aid.>>

:: Alison saw/heard the exchange between Mike and the sisters. She did not interfere. That was their personal squabble and while Morgan and Blaze had some justification to be unhappy with Mike and some of his methods...whats done is done.::

:: Alison looks at Ava for a moment and then turns to the door.::

Oh no...

:: she says as s he grabs Ava's hand.::

:: the bar seems to fall a bit silent as many patrons have left, only a few remain but here comes this man. this peculiar acting man.::

:: Morgan can be heard cursing at her cell phone by the window but Alison remains focused on this man.::

Something is wrong.

:: Cameron would sense it too with his telepathy. This man was not what he seemed.::

:: and then it happens, the same "unruly behavior" that had been attributed to the fan at the football game would now be seen up front HERE. the man ATTACKS the bartender like a raging CANNIBAL! people gasp with shock and some rush out of the bar. Mike attempts to step in.::

Don't be a FOOL, Michael!

:: Alison snaps and he stops in his tracks.::

:: the man forces his attacker out of the bar and shuts the door, locking it. he screams and rushes over for a first aid kit.::

We have to get out of here...DEATH has come!

:: and this was JUST the beginning of something they couldnt imagine!::

Morgan...GET AWAY from the window!

nocturnal tavern

<< as Morgan was trying to dial her mother back frantically, wondering if perhaps her mother was calling her to tell her where she was...if she was alright, she didnt immediately catch the latest, GRUESOME development but at the sound of screams and a few people exiting, Morgan looked up.>>

hmm? what the hell!?

<< annoyed at first, thinking it might be some stupid drunken blonde college girls from the football game.>>

Alison: get away from the WINDOW!

<< Morgan turned to LOOK at the window and GASPED as SEVERAL people...GROTESQUE looking "people" were moaning...pressed up against the window and looking at Morgan like she was the main course for their feeding frenzy.>>

<< it was not at ALL what she expected. she gave a start as she backed away, almost TRIPPING over the cop on the floor.>>

GODDESS....what is THIS!?

<< she says as they are ALL confronted with something they were not truly ready for.>>

Alison: DEATH has come.

Blaze....I have to get her! She went to the bathroom...

I have to get to her now!

<< it was happening! the most impossible thing was happening and her sister...she'd been attacked before! Morgan HAD to get to her.>>

in the bathroom

<< Blaze had taken time to splash water on her face and pop a few pills...calming herself down from what promised to be an anxiety attack. she was looking at her face in the mirror, noticing her emerald green eyes and chocolate brown hair but she felt like her face was flat...with no life or energy she once had. she often felt that way since the incident.>>

<< she was so engrossed in herself in an odd sort of way that she didnt realize what was happening outside until it was too late...as she heard that awfull...that DREADFULL moan she had heard months ago. but in the BATHROOM!?>>

no...it cant be...not HERE...not again!

<< she said as she looked around. she saw no one but at that moment, from the vent near the floor, the cover BURSTS off and several arms reach through, grabbing her legs and YANKING HER DOWN with force as she hits the floor and cries out with pain.>>

MORGAN!!!! Morgan!!! HELP ME!!

<< she SCREAMS as she tries to kick and pull away from the decayed arms and gripping hands but its no use! the growling and moaning can be heard loud and echoing as the mutant is forced to RELIVE her greatest nightmare AGAIN...something she always feared might happen but hoped would NOT.>>

<< Morgan , in the hall, hears her sister.>>

Oh NO! BLAZE!

<< she runs FULL SPEED....ready to do WHATEVER it takes to save her sister as she BUSTS into the bathroom and finds her sister screaming and CRYING with panic on the floor being pulled INTO the vent.>>

NO!

<< She scrambles forward, dropping to her knees and wrapping her arms around Blaze's chest from behind.>>

I'VE GOT YOU! I'VE GOT YOU BLAZE!

Blaze: MORGAN! PLEASE DONT LET THEM GET ME!

Morgan: I WONT! I PROMISE!!! HOLD ON! HOLD...ONNNN!!

<< it was a terrifying situation, even for super powered women! Morgan had tremendous physical strength, courtesy of her mystical heritage but the zombies had a measure of strength and there were AT LEAST 3 pairs of arms...somehow...reaching , clawing and gripping her sister.>>

I've GOT YOU! I WONT LET THEM TAKE YOU!

<< Blaze is too PANIC stricken to use her own power effectively and Morgan STRUGGLES to gain the leverage without HURTING her sister from exerting that strength....>>

<< she felt them pulling them closer.>>

BLAZE: PLEASE GET ME OUT OF HERE! GET THEM OFF MEEE!!

<< Morgan looks TERRIFIED herself.>>

I....I'm GOING TO HAVE TO TELEPORT US!

<< and in the twinkling of her eye...they are WHISKED away via stepping disc...BACK out into the hall of the bar....with Morgan holding Blaze TIGHTLY as Blaze is now beside herself.>>

<< Morgan calls out for Delilah.>>

DEE! HELP ME!

<< Morgan wanted to KILL WHOEVER was doing this to her sister but how could she? she couldnt see them...just their arms. HOW MANY WERE THERE?!>>

Dee...they were in the bathroom...they attacked my sister...just like the last time! they're INSIDE THE BAR!

Delilah looked at her watch – Jennifer and Mike should have been here by now. She breathed a sigh of relief as she saw Mike enter the tavern. But…no Jennifer.

“Mike…?”

He proceeded to explain what had happened, and then Morgan joined them and promptly EXPLODED. Blaze excused herself and Morgan went to retrieve her bag, leaving Delilah and Cameron with Mike. She gave him a weak smile.

“It’s not your fault, Mike. But you SHOULD have called us as soon as she jetted. Morgan could have tried to call her. She can try and soon as she gets…”

Suddenly there was a commotion as one of the customers BIT the bartender.

“Holy shit! Did you see that?”

Alison was trying to get their attention. She moved closer to the seer, trying to hear what she was trying to tell them.

Harbinger said:
We have to get out of here...DEATH has come!

"Alison, what does that mean? What’s happening?"

But before Alison could answer, Morgan suddenly TELEPORTED right to them, with Blaze in her arms. Delilah rushed over to them.

"Blaze! Are you hurt?"

She crouched down beside the sisters and began checking Blaze over for wounds, and, not finding any, turned her attention onto Blaze's attackers. Standing up to her full height, she looked in the direction of the ladies room, eyes narrowing. Delilah's skin became noticeably brighter with her anger.

"Those motherfuckers are going to have to deal with ME."

Ava turned the stool toward the enterance of the bar seeing Mike enter. He immediately headed over to Delilah and explained that he had lost Morgan's secretery and friend, Jennifer. Rolling her eyes, she KNEW Morgan was going to have a melt down; and sure enough she did.

"Great. We don't NEED this right now."

Ava said to Alison; both woman deciding to sit this little argument out. Distracted by the tension in the room between Morgan and Mike, Ava didn't even notice another patron enter the bar. Not until she heard the bartender cry out in pain and see the man BITING his neck. Instinctively sliding off her barstool, Ava's eyes were wide.

"Oh my God."

Alison quickly grabbed for Ava's hand as she stood there wide eyed and motionless by the bar.

Alison: We have to get out of here...DEATH has come!

"They look pretty damn ALIVE to me!"

Morgan rushed away form the window seeing more zombies outside the bar...there must have been atleast ten of them! As Morgan fled from the window and headed to the bathroom to retrieve Blaze, Ava quickly sprinted to the front entrance of the bar seeing that some of the zombies were attempting to come in. With her enhanced strength, Ava SLAMMED the door shut cutting off any limbs that had been reaching in. Deadbolting the door closed, she pressed her back against the door; her chest noticably heaving in and out with deep breaths--a sign of the elemental's fear of what had suddenly happen.

"We need to get the FUCK out of here!"

Eventhough the door was locked, it would only be a matter of time before the zombies break through the numerous windows throughout the bar to try and get in.

It means, Delilah, that DEATH is here...the DEAD WALK!

:: pointing to the zombies pounding on the picture window.::

:: Morgan appeared carrying a terrified Blaze and Delilah went to deal with their pursuers/attackers.::

:: Alison got up as well, moving to a halfway point to be near Ava and close enough to warn the others.::

They're getting in from all entrances. We have to move to the back!

:: she felt something grabbing her ankle and looked down...it was the BARTENDER. he had become a zombie! Alison GASPED as his grip tightened and he attempted to BITE her on her leg! the waitress and several others were zombies now too! ::

NO!

:: she kicks him with her high heeled boot and then STOMPS him repeatedly. his frenzied biting and growling continues. finally she frees herself, with no injury as the zombie bartender slowly gets up.::

Come on! we have to hurry!

:: she thrusts her hand out, and a rushing chime is heard as she BLOCKS the door Ava is holding via her TK.::

Ava, come on! I'm blocking the door with my power.

:: she hurridly beckons as the elemental joins her.::

the rest of you better make tracks if you want to live! even THEY are doing it!

:: ushering Cameron along. she signals everyone in their party to follow through the back double doors and once through, Alison slams them shut with with her TK. down the narrow hall, they are forced to move single file, Morgan still carrying Blaze.::

Delilah...those officers up ahead, do you know them?

the roof of the bar

<< the main area of the tavern soon filled with zombies as they bust through the front door, no longer sealed by Alison's TK. some fell through and others simply stumbled over them.>>

<< those who were still alive had evacuated to the back hall, down one corridor and two another. up a flight of stairs, they moved to the roof of the tavern and once out on the roof, the door behind them was shut and barricaded.>>

<< the officers had their seemingly "too drunk" partner. He didnt look drunk...he looked ghostly.>>

Alison: We have a few minutes, but we can't stay here forever.

Do you know them, Delilah? They insisted on bring their fallen partner with. I think he's one of those things down stairs...those zombies.

<< from their new vantage point out in the night sky, they could HEAR sirens wailing in the air and could see smoke billows from a few FIRES around the sprawling downtown area of Raccoon City. Death had come and brought a NIGHTMARE the likes of which they couldnt yet grasp the whole scope of.>>

<< for the moment though, Morgan attempted to calm Blaze. Checking and RE checking her for any possible wounds. Some moments she held Blaze's hands...other moments she hugged her sister close and rocked her, stroking her hair as she shushed her and continued to calm her, assuring her that it was alright.>>

<< Mike could SEE first hand now why Morgan hated the RPD so much. THIS was but a TASTE of what Blaze had survived in the forest and the police had FAILED her then. Now Karen AND Jennifer might be lost and Blaze had been attacked AGAIN. It was a heavy burden on Morgan. He saw his colleagues a few feet away tending to their sick partner and heard Alison say that he might be turning into a zombie. the precog suggested they kill them ALL to preserve their secret. Her bloodthirsty nature was appalling but he knew so little about her other than that she was Cameron's sister.>>

Alison: Cameron? are you alright? You stay close now, okay?

<< The precog said as she checked on her baby brother. Cameron, was at a loss. He KNEW something BAD was coming, but he didnt imagine it would start like THIS. He had to think and get a clear head. He was a telepath, and a powerfull one at that but how could he fight these "THINGS" if they were already dead? Alison had always told him that he had to be fast and think on his feet. These things...these creatures were human anymore and so...they didnt require any consideration. He'd use his psi powers to theier most lethal extent to defend himself, his sister and his allies to help make sure they all survived.>>

moving away from the supers and over to the trio of officers

1rst officer: what hell just happened?! ::radioing the RPD for information and medical assistance, his attempts were met with static:: I can't get through to HQ

2nd officer: I dont know...i dont know man...but look over there! << pointing at Delilah and Mike>> arent those the two hot shot S.T.A.R.S. officers? they're supposed to be trained to deal with this shit! werent they involved in some freaky shit a few months back?!

1rst officer: Trelevan was. She resigned after the investigation.

2nd officer: forget them. they're hanging out with the pretty elite. we're on our own.

<< the 3rd officer stirs a bit...groaning as he looks up and opens his eyes, but he's NOT a zombie...not yet.>>

2nd officer: dude...what the hell happened to you down stairs? you sick? we're on the roof, some freaky shit is happening...we dont quite know what...but we're gonna get you out of here.

3rd officer: no....it's too late...for me.

2nd Officer: what? what do you mean?

3rd officer: those things...down stairs...those people...i feel...what they feel....the HUNGER. i FEEL IT....

<< he said in a slow, mournfull tone as he looked upon his friend and partner with a pale face...>>

3rd officer: it wont..be long before I'm one of THEM. a danger to you...all of you.

<< he takes his gun out and attemps to aim it at his head.>>

1rst officer: what are you DOING!? << wrestling the gun down.>>

3rd officer: don't you understand!? i'm....i'm not well! i can FEEL myself DYING...TURNING INTO ONE OF THOSE THINGS! let me END my life HERE while I am still MYSELF...still IN CONTROL!

<< he YANKS his hand loose and takes aim again...committing SUICIDE to spare himself the damnation of becoming a zombie and to spare his friends and others the DANGER he would pose. All of this takes place in front of Delilah, Mike and the others who looked on from a little ways away.>>

<< the two officers mourn their fallen comrade...trying to figure out what to do as they ALL can see more creatures around the bar on the ground level.>>

on the roof

<< Morgan craddled Blaze as Delilah leapt forward to defend them from the oncoming zombie creatures from the ladies room. Morgan worried for her friend...those THINGS were insane! But the woman was a veteran in the field and a super, if anyone could deal with them efficiently, surely it was her.>>

<< there was chaos and commotion. MORE of the creatures were outside! Ava blocked the door as people began to evacuate to the back of the building. as Alison yelled for them to move, Morgan continued to carry Blaze with ease due to her super strength as she followed the others.>>

Don't worry Blaze! I have you. NO ONE is going to get you tonight.

<< out on the roof, the benefit of some fresh breezy air did help and being on the roof provided them with a respite from the utter madness that was exploding in their faces.>>

<< as the others adjusted and try to make sense of what was going on, Delilah and Morgan see to Blaze.>>

She ...was always AFRAID this [the attack] would happen again!

<< they checked her body...NO wounds.>>

no bites...thank the goddess.

<< Morgan holds Blaze close and attempts to calm her, rocking her slowly.>>

Delilah...thank you for helping me. I...saw her in the bathroom, the arms and hands were trying to pull her into the vent! what if i hadnt heard her!? what if i hadnt got there in time! I PROMISED her nothing like that would EVER happen to her again the LAST TIME....and NOW...

<< Morgan looked TERRIBLY distraught, having lost her gucci shades during the mad dash for he roof. she was a bit teary eyed herself as she held her sister.>>

<< stroking Blaze's hair as she kept her sister's head and eyes hidden from whatever was going on around her, Morgan continued to rock her slowly as she sat there with her.>>

Blaze...honey, I KNOW you're upset...its what you've always feared, seeing these things, this creatures again. But I'm here this time, so is Dee. We're on the roof and we're safe for now but we're going to have to move soon. We have to find Jennifer and remember...we have to resuce our mother and Haleigh.

Blaze, listen to me, okay? It's OKAY to be afraid. But...now that you've realized your fear...<< Morgan HOPED she didnt sound insensitive>> there's no where left to go but UP and FORWARD. You have me, your big sister...you KNOW I will be there. You have Delilah...and we have Ava and our allies. When the time comes for us to leave here...i need you -- you've GOT to be ready to go, to FIGHT! Jennifer, OUR mother, and Haleigh's lives depend on it.

I know you're reeling...but you're FIRE remember? Fire doesnt shrink back...it grows...it BURNS. Use your power to BURN those zombies up...so that theyll NEVER hurt you or anyone ELSE again. We'll be right here with you.

For now though...you just rest.

<< Morgan spoke as only a big sister could, promising to protect Blaze but reminding her of the need, the IMPORTANCE of now STANDING UP to confront the monster that was menacing her for all their sakes.>>

<< the sad drama of the police officer unfolded. apparently he KNEW hwas sick...and turning into one of those THINGS!>>

why is he up here with us!?

<< Morgan was taken aback as he KILLED himself right then and there. She couldnt help but feel a bit of sympathy for him and his partners...despite them being RPD officers. BUT she kept that to herself. She was never one to show much of her softer side to those she felt didnt deserve it.>>

sirens in the air...and smoke coming up from various points from where we can see from here.

what's HAPPENING in the city!?

The roof

:: Cameron was in complete and utter shock. Whatever he pictured in his head would happen, it was nothing like this. Everything moved around him so fast almost as if he wanted to react but couldn't. Bartenders were turning into zombies as well as people all over the city and now as they are on the roof he sees the making of a police officer about to become a zombie himself. He was beginning to go a little crazy. ::

"Deep breaths, Cameron..."

:: He knew he had only one option. These things were not human anymore, they had minimal brain function it seemed other than the basic animal instinct to feed. His telepathy wasn't going to get him very far, he would have to rely on his other abilities in order to get him out of this mess alive and he was going to have to be absolutely lethal a side that nobody had ever really seen, not even Cameron himself. Up until now he had lived a comfy life using his abilities to gain the life he always thought he wanted. He had never had to fight, but with so many lives on the line, the telepath knew he most certainly WOULD fight. ::

"Take a deep breath..."

:: That's when he saw the Police Officer KILL himself right there. He wanted to scream out but at this point but he was just a little numb to everything. He was in preservation mode. All that mattered right now was getting out of this mess. Cameron had finally foud himself a little centered as he rose to his feet and over to his sister where he placed his hand over hers and let out a sigh. ::

"The things we get ourselves into, Alison.. but before this gets any bigger before we don't have time to talk. If I get bitten, scratched, mauled or ANYTHING of the sort..."

:: Cameron broke the gaze of his sister ::

"I want you to kill me..."

:: Cameron took a the moment to look around at Raccoon City. A place that was once picturesque was now seemingly being ripped apart. He looked over at Morgan. ::

"It's like Alison said. Death is here, Morgan..."

Delilah did the best she could, but was forced to retreat down the hallway with the others. Making their way to the roof with the “survivors”, from this vantage point they could now see that this didn’t seem to be an isolated incident.

Alison asked her if she knew the policemen from the bar. She glanced over at them.

“I recognize them as RPD, worked with the tall guy once or twice I think, but I don’t know them well.”

Her attention was still on them – she was distracted by the conversation that was going on amongst the officers. And then the injured one pulled out his piece and blew his brains out right in front of them. Delilah physically jumped back, shocked. Her hand flew to her mouth.

Delilah’s former fellows were visibly and understandably distraught. She slipped the black wrap she was wearing off of her shoulders and walked slowly over to them. She carefully covered the dead man, in honor of his sacrifice.

She laid a hand on each of his comrade’s shoulders for a brief moment before returning to the others.

“We have got to make a plan – we’re not safe here, not for long.”

The entire bar was overtaken by zombies. Quickly everyone headed for the roof....because when people are being hunted by flesh eating zombies, going to a roof with no escape is a STELLAR idea. ;) Feeling like one of those stupid characters in a horror movie that everyone yells at to run out the front door and not upstairs to their bedroom, Ava dashed through the door that lead to the roof and Alison quickly blocked it shut.

"Jesus Christ."

Out of breath, the wind whipped across the roof giving the elemental some much needed air. Her sapphire eyes looked out into the distance...the town looked like a middle eastern warzone. Strands of brunette hair blew across her face as she stood stunned by what she was seeing. Walking to the edge of the roof, Ava looked down seeing people screaming and running. Zombies eating those they captured. Buildings burning and cars flipped over. Spotting the coffee shop she and Alison had grabbed lunch at only a few hours earlier, the windows were completely shattered with a woman's half eaten body laying limp on the frame.

Completely enthralled with what she was witnessing--like watching a car crash and knowing you should turn away but you can't--Ava was snapped back into reality after hearing a gunshot behind her. Jumping, she turned to see one of the police officers that had been apart of their escape party had shot himself. With a slight grimace on her face, she shut her eyes and exhaled slowly. If it was this bad now...after only a couple hours....how the hell was Haleigh surviving after missing for WEEKS. Ava's eyes began to water, reality sinking in. Turning away just as Delilah covered the dead police officer with her black shaw, the elemental blinked back the tears and took a few deep breaths.

[quietly to herself] "Calm down. She's okay. She's......okay."

Mike and Morgan were having a little talk when a man staggered in and fell. The bartender was handling it, Mike thinking it was possibly some drunk, when the damn thing BIT him!! Mike stepped forward, but Alison stopped him, yelling that DEATH itself was here. He didn't know what she could DO yet, but she spoke like someone whose voice should be considered. So he stepped back, then realized what was happening. Like a bad horror movie. ZOMBIES?!

He was already armed for bear thankfully, with a small duffel of other goodies with him. He put on a pair of combat gloves and retreated with three of his own and his new pack of supers, foolishly following smooth FLAWLESS legs up instead of down, towards the roof. He would make no fuss this time, as he saw the sisters distraught once again, saw the FEAR in Blaze's eyes as she was attacked in the bathroom and barely saved by Morgan from these...THINGS.

Seeing her horror helped him understand their anger with the police and how their investigation was handled...hell, even HE was pissed about that. They did the same thing to him a Dee when it was Haleigh. But the point was driven home and noted.

As the made the roof, he took note of their surrounding...bleak and dismal, little logistical chance of getting anywhere safe. he COULD see his car though. It was a masterpiece of old-school steel and engineering. If someone needed THAT, they could get away at least from this epicenter, drive the sidewalk, run THROUGH most of these baby foreign cars...he was brought back to reality by Alison suggesting that they kill the police officers, a move that was HARDLY an option in his mind. he decided to speak concerning it when the one who seemed injured took his un and shot himself in the head.

Mike joined Delilah over, and as she spoke to the two left, he quickly said Psalm 23 and laid the fallen officer to one side. He turned back and spoke to the men as well.

We'll get you somewhere relatively safe. I see you have weaponry. I will give you more ammo. Find a car and get to somewhere safe to get supplies, then find a small area you can defend until this blows over. NO hero shit, OK? If it is slow and/or mumbles, kill it. HEAD shot, no questions, got me?

The men nodded their heads a bit, still in shock.

Stay close by, get it together, we have to plan this out.

Mike walked back towards the group of supers when he noticed Ava crying, trying to get together. he knew somehow what she was thinking, feeling. FEAR that Haleigh had to endure ANYTHING like this. He came up beside her and placed a hand on her shoulder, speaking softly to her, kindly as he pulled her a bit closer.

She is FINE. You KNOW that someone can't simply bite or scratch her, and she is the best I've ever seen. I KNOW she is still surviving. We will find her Ava, I am so sorry that I hadn't already. But we both know that you are MUCH more than simply a pretty face. We are going to kick ass and take names from now on until we get her and Karen and Jennifer, and then we are going to kick some more ass. Are you with me?

Nocturnal roof

:: at alternate moments, the normally unshakable precog looked utterly DISMAYED. all it took was the arrival of one man....one CREATURE and all hell broke loose in the tavern. what was worse, glow of DEATH was sweeping across raccoon city. those who were trying to flee or even FIGHT were being overtaken by the intial wave...the OUTBREAK of the T Virus.::

:: it all happened so quickly, like being caught in the riptide of whirl pool, they were sucked in and trying to get their bearings like the rest of the city before it was too late.::

:: as long as she was CONSCIOUS, her telekinetic power would keep the door from the staircase leading out to the roof SHUT. the upper limit of her telekinetic strength had not been defined or tested like that. in fact, with the exception of Delilah, NONE of the "supers" present were battle tested.::

:: Alison and Cameron, along with Ava "learned by doing" and grew in their confidence and control of their powers while Karen taught Morgan the art of witch craft and secretly taught her and Blaze how to use their powers to protect themselves. and here they all were, thrust together NOW being forced to call on their abilities like never before. were they up for it? Alison...for once...couldnt be SURE. the death glow was so strong, nothing ELSE seemed clear.::

:: the night summer breeze blew, causing her blue/black hair to flow a bit but it also brought the smell of smoke and burning even up where they were. Alison coughed a bit.::

american air was never to my liking...always so POLLUTED.

:: she mumbled...trying to find SOMETHING to give her focus at a moment where she felt truly out of place.::

::Cameron had finally foud himself a little centered as he rose to his feet and over to his sister where he placed his hand over hers and let out a sigh. ::

"The things we get ourselves into, Alison.. but before this gets any bigger before we don't have time to talk. If I get bitten, scratched, mauled or ANYTHING of the sort..."

:: Cameron broke the gaze of his sister ::

"I want you to kill me..."

:: Alison looked at her brother, and squeezed his hand.::

don't be absurd, Cameron. I'm not going to kill you. I'm going to PROTECT you and make SURE you don't get bitten by one of those things. You do as i say and stay by me...you understand?

:: Alison spoke as his big sister, the often BOSSY big sister that he endured as a child :p::

:: she couldnt afford to treat this like an "Adventure" this was an EMERGENCY and in emergencies...there were NO guarantees especially when hr precognition was being overloaded by the ARMY of disaster scenarios invading her mind's eye. all the probable time threads were converging on one thing. DESTRUCTION::

we're going to have to move soon...

:: she said softly as she looked on the police officers. her first suggestion was to kill them but after one of them took his own life to spare them the danger he would later pose, Alison in a RARE moment, backed off and let Delilah and Mike handle "their own". Ava was shuddering with dismay as well, the gravity of it all was setting in and she feared the worst for Haleigh. The precog placed a gentle, reassuring hand on her friend's shoulder.::

:: Mike seemed to bind their fate to the supers and Alison nodded with disapproval.::

We can't take them with us.

:: she beckoned Delilah and the others over. ::

Morgan can teleport us but we need to get moving. She can send them some place safe, leaving them HERE would be a suicide run. I'm not even sure all of US are going to make it safe.
them down as we move but we've GOT to keep moving.

Mike nodded in AGREEMENT, likely shocking Alison.

I understand, Alison. I simply told them we would get them to safety. I have a storage...I have the address. I figured that even if I had to render them unconscious MYSELF for a few minutes, they could be teleported there with a note of instructions. There are weapons, provisions and a car there for them to get their bearings...it'll give them a chance. What do you think?

Mike asked Alison, as she seemed to be running tactical for the group...

Mike came over and tried his best to console Ava. Haleigh was as tough as they came, but how could the elemental NOT become fearful that maybe this situation was just too much for her to handle? The city was being ravaged and it had only been an hour since the commerical aired. An HOUR. Blaze--whom was pretty damn tough herself--was literally shuttering in Morgan's arms, CRYING, because she was so scared. She had experienced all of this before and was traumatized! Despite Mike and Alison trying to comfort her, the scene spoke for itself. Ava was quickly loosing hope.

Shrugging off Mike's hand, Alison began to instruct everyone to what was about to happen. Morgan would teleport the two remaining police officers to safety and the rest of them were going to leave the rooftop. If they were going to find Haleigh and Karen, they needed to do it quickly. The entire city was getting worse by the minute.

Finally turning, Ava's eyes were moist but she remained stoic. She couldn't afford to come unraveled now. Looking over to Cameron, he was probably one of the most powerful telepaths Ava knew; if anyone could find a missing person, it was him.

"Cam, can you somehow pin point Jennifer's location in the city?"

Ava knew that Morgan cared deeply about Jennifer's safety. And the more time they wasted trying to track her down, the more time it took away from rescuing her sister.

the roof

:: Cameron looked his sister in the eye and his gaze somewhat softened a little bit. She was his only family left in this world and he wanted more than ever to believe Alison's words. He loved his sister but she wasn't one to accept the fact that she might fail, though he had never seen a situation where she had. But Cameron also knew the power of thoughts so instead of dwelling on their seemingly imminent deaths he decided to maintain an image in his mind of everyone making it out okay. ::

"I understand. We're getting out of this together Alley Cat..."

:: He winked at her as he watched Alison spoke of their need to get out of this place and soon. He agreed with her but even he too felt some sympathy for the officers, even though they were a huge liability for the group. They needed to get to the forest find Haleigh and get OUT of this town before it became a page in the history books. ::

"We need to get to the forest. The town is in a frenzy. We can't save everyone and I feel like the outskirts of town is our best option. We have a better chance of NOT running into these creatures..."

:: At that moment Ava spoke for the first time in a while and asked Cameron if he could pinpoint Jennifer's location. A task much easier said than done. If he had to open his mind to this city he wasn't sure he could take the strain. ::

"I'm not sure Ava. Opening my mind to thoughts of this city to pinpoint Jennifer would be tough. The amount of pain, the screams and the crying... and plus..."

:: Cameron didn't want to start an outcry ::

"Should we be trying to find Jennifer anyway? I know she means alot to Morgan but to be quite fair.. I have plenty of people close to me in this city. Friends and business associates... all of them could be dead. All of them could be zombies.. and I am here, with all of you, trying to find Haleigh.. it seems like a lark to find her when we have a bigger task at hand.. How much more valuable is finding her rather than Haleigh, or helping these police officers? We don't have time..."

:: He waited for an outburst but it needed to be said and it was how he felt in this situation. They needed to move and they needed to find Haleigh. ::

nocturnal roof

<< taking a moment to run her hands through her pulled back hair, she made sure Blaze was much more settled before getting up. Cameron reminded her of Alison's grim and to the point prophecy of about DEATH arriving and there was much Morgan could say about it. Even though the roof they were on wasnt the highest vantage point in the city, it offered enough of a view to see there were trouble spots all over. sirens wailing, gun shots ringing out, smoke from fire...all against the dark night sky.>>

at least we don't have to worry about a POWER OUTAGE as well.

<< she said as she looked on. everyone drew close as Alison said it was time to move. The woman was a precog so it seemed she would know best, wouldnt she? >>

yes fine fine...I'll send them on their way. You know like I was SUPPOSED to do with Jennifer?

<< looking at Mike. Ava asked if Cameron could pinpoint Jennifer and Morgan hoped he could but not only was it too risky but he went on to suggest she abandon her.>>

Look here, corporate HOT SHOT!

<< Morgan loudly interrupted him.>>

I dont know about you and your friends or all the BIMBOS you whore around town with...but i PROMISED Jennifer I would get her out. It's MICHAEL'S fault she's missing at this moment ANYWAY.

If you're too WEAK to find her with your paltry psychic mind tricks, then I'll do it MYSELF!

<< Morgan was determined to protect those she could. her anger and her resolve would spur her own to use her powers in a way she had not done before. she began with " magicking" up a scrying pool. a spell to find the one she seeks...and soon...the building where Rejuvination is housed appears!>>"

She's...back THERE!?

<< the building LOOKS solid and seems peacefull. in fact the area around it does too.>>

She must have gone there to get undercover! Well! this wont take long AT ALL!
