So our host has figured out a way to more accurately calculate database size as a part of the server space that we use, which means I am running out of space on both server accounts I have. We still have some breathing room on this one, so no need to panic just yet.

But I wanted to have a discussion about it before it gets critical. Right now, I have SG and AD on one server, and BB on its own. If I move BB up to the next level hosting plan, which I will have to do unless I switch hosts, there will be an insane amount of extra space and bandwith.

So I guess the question is, how important is it that we keep SG on a separate server from BB?
 
That's definitely not my area to place opinions on lol.

But pruning the shoutbox sounds like a good idea. :D
 
by all means, prune away. if it helps keep us from breeching too high a space usage.

this is not my area of expertise either and ive always trusted you, vil, because you know what you're doing AND you've never done me or this board wrong.

i would like to ask...are there any major changes that would come from having SG and BB on the same server? if BB goes down, does SG go down with it during any glitches? That's the only thing that I can think of at this moment.
 
Well, if the server BB is on goes down, then SG would too. I've cleared out some space on both servers, so it's not an immediate issue. Just something to think about.
