Well they might not be "new" but you could just now be checking them out.
Recently I've tried some songs by this icy pixie faerie type singer who calls herself "Zola Jesus". I've also checked out "Florence and the Machine". They're definately outside of my usual genres but they both have a sound that really appeals to me!
Zola Jesus has a song called "I Cant Stand" which was the first of her music I heard. I've listened to more and she really has an icy, dreamy quality to her work.
What are some new artists you're getting into? I have to say that if it werent for magazines like Spin, I'd not have the chance to learn about different artists to try. The radio play as it is today sucks. I really enjoy music so I'm consider getting digital radio which will open up endless selection for me. I'd rather pay for that than cable.
