Over the years, moreso now than ever before, we've seen a flood of pointless, outrageous and downright stupid comic characters...especially in Marvel.

I'm wondering whom you all consider to be the dumbest/most pointless character in the pages of Marvel, DC or any other comic house and WHY?

personally i feel like just about every character that came through the pages of "New X-men" (courtesy of that idiot Grant Morrison) were dumb as hell. characters like "Dummy", "Grob", "Martha"(seriously....WTF:stupid: ) and "No-Girl"....this was Marvel's equivalent of SPAM...these characters were stupid and had no potential to be taken seriously..EVER.

DOOP! That ridiculous spud really ground my gears! He was unintelligible except to his own team, virtually indestructible, and contained an infinite amount of space within him!

I loathed him from the very moment he set...well, not foot, since he didn't have one, but since he floated into the MU...

i saw him before...and even his bio in the X-men volume of the marvel encylopedia was written in a "language" that looked more like heiroglyphics than anything legilble.. but his stats were all at 7...wasnt he with the X-statics?

He was indeed; yeah, he speaks in those weird things, and only his team-mates can decipher it, so they all know what the hell he's saying, and no-one else has a clue.

I hated his weasel, infinite guts. I am SO glad he's dead.

well you dont think he surpases "NO-Girl" do you?....i mean what was the point of her? it wasnt as if she was a lesser version of Invisible Woman....and she had NO stats for her physical appearence OR powers so what the hell was the point?? lol i think grant was probably high off drugs when he created a majority of the "new x-men"....and the x-statics were horrible...well all of them except U-go-girl and one other female whose name i cant remember. i didnt even like the way they were drawn...they looked "dated" in their appearence.

Door Man - his super power is laying himself against a wall so his companions can walk through it. That's hella lame.

LMAO! :haha: i dont know why but just reading that made me laugh really loud..just the idea of someone actually having THAT as a super power...it just seems so STUPID!

lol I know! I've always thought it would be fun to roleplay some mutants and roll for random powers. They never get to pick what they are, so some of them could be real funny.

"I can make my ears move to any other part of my epidermis"
"Umm...so do you ever do that?"
"No. Why the fuck would I?"

:D

I did play a game with mutants {after a fashion} for a bit but I managed to get some pretty neat powers. Certaily they were -far- superior to any of those mentioned above, though I can't say I honestly know much about the lot of them since I never read the comics.

Oh, and another one that made me laugh:

Matter-eater lad: Can consume any matter—animal, vegetable, or mineral.

Dummy 'the Fart in a gimp suit' what was the point of him? What super powers did he have?

Sentry I like his purpose and what he represents, I like the psychological path Marvel are taking with him and I like the all powerful but yet still not enough his limited series is portraying. But was there really a need for Marvel to include him into their mainstream continuity. He is all powerful yes but within that no good can come from such a character as he has become the bain of almost every discussion and almost every possible vs. With little to no weakness all he is is the ultimate nullifier to almost every good story.

LOL, in Doormans defense he would kinda fit right in with the Mystery Men.

Ah, I forgot Backdown. He's my favorite X-Men character in terms of comedic effect, as no one actually knows what his mutant powers are (though they are expected to be quite impressive). He simply finds himself elsewhere when his teammates are in the thick of battle, while Wolverine or another tough X-Man screams out (usually after something explodes or one of the other characters has suffered a grievous injury)

"Where the fuck is Backdown!?"

Cut to backdown sitting on the couch, watching TV. :D

Sounds like his powers are 'never being there when he's needed' or possibly 'always backing down in the face of adversity' which would also account for his name.

I have always had a problem with Blob, to be honest. I do not find morbid immovable obesity to be such a cool power... If he were thin, that would make his power (and character) a million times cooler. An immovable THIN guy, that would be impressive.

The entire Legion of Substitute Heroes, Any form of Doom Patrol not written by Grant Morrison, the cast of the current Excalibur title (except Sage, Nocturne and Juggernaut), Cable, Nate Grey and Rachel Grey (all Summer/Grey children) and Wolverine needs to die there i said it hes pointless and needs to go.

to be honest i think M-day was just what the mutants need. except personally i think they all need to die and never return but thats just me. kill off about 80% to 90% and leave the rest as the scared minority.
