For those not familiar, this is the daughter of A-list actor, Laurence Fisburne & his first wife. She became [in]famous within the last couple years for beginning [what she thinks is] a career by way of PORN & her own reasoning for this is that "Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton & Sasha Grey inspired her." She references them as "STARS" & wants to follow their pattern.

Meanwhile, Laurence Fishburne, the mainstream, multiple awared winning & nominated leading man on the big & small screen has publicly cut ties w/ his daughter, saying she's no longer welcomed in his life.

Just wondering what anyone here thinks about this.

I find myself wondering how did they RAISE her in order for her to come to think that Kardashian, Hilton or Grey are "STARS" :sure: Sure plenty of other individuals (including Madonna) have a softcore flick or two on their resume' from their distant past but using porn to launch a career is so 70s/80s/90s....it really doesnt have the same effect anymore.

As someone who thinks porn stars are just glorified sex toys and high-tech prostitutes, I say good for him. On the other hand, though, as somebody who lost her father while still a baby, I say that that's incredibly sad.

It's really sad that they aren't even speaking to one another. I can see why he's not positive about her career choice, and neither am I, actually, but honestly? Thet's her choice and her decision.

Of course, I don't have a daughter who wants to be a porn star. I'm well aware that if I were in his shoes, I'd probably be feeling the same way.

I try to be sex positive and really thing that if its your own choose to maintain a career in erotica or porn, thats your choice and its what you want to do so rock out. While there are some that shouldn't be in that industry cause either they were in the right place to make that decision at the time or because they were force into it for whatever reason, there are those that make it their preferred career and throw themselves into it. This however in this case it really seems more like shes using and abusing her for what to get ahead in hollywood? This is the difference between negotiating with expectations and actual liberation. When shes finished with this really all shes going to remember if pissing off her daddy and getting her name in the news not anything she can really be proud of.

If you come from nothing or very little and want to be in porn because you are gonna get screwed anyway and would rather be paid, then you do you.

If you come form a successful acting family and your parents are worth many millions, take your ass to college. Don't shame your Dad to be 'famous'. With any work at all you would have already BENN famous. I have seen her, she is pretty. She could have simply tried anything and been around for when her Dad was around and she could have been FAMOUS.

I wonder if Lawrence Fishbourne wasn't famous, if he would have been making such a huge deal about what his daughter is doing, or if the reason he's cutting ties with her is because it's all being exposed to the world?

Regardless, she can make her own dumb mistakes. I just think it's stupid that she's going into porn when she has an established and wealthy family who would probably give her a fantastic life otherwise.

Unless your name is Traci Lords or Linda Lovelace. Those are the only two that I can think of who were unknowns w/ no celebrity pedigree & that truly made their career w/ PORN as their foundation & graduated on to something better.

Sasha Grey is doing the same now too, to this day i hear i need to watch "The Girlfriend Experience" and she just had a recurring role on Entourage

The thing is making for name with porn isn't that bad its just that unless you are spectacular as an actress/whatever you're trying to do you aren't crossing over into anything mainstream
