DG Hecate
Real Name: Ashley
Also Known As: Dark Goddess
Species/Character Type: Dark Faerie
Occupation: Mistress of Evil, Bringer of Death
Place of Origin: A land of magic long-ago lost to death and war. The true name was lost long ago.
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 135 lbs.
Hair Color: The deepest shade of black
Eye Color: Purple
General Appearance: DG projects and air of nobility and contempt to all who meet her. Though she is merely 5'7" (a rather short height for those who come from her home), those who encounter her always describe her as towering over them. She demands respect from all and her appearance is tailored to get that reaction, starting with the velvet, midnight-black cloak she wears which trails behind in her wake and ending with her long, straight black hair which streams down her back to create a beautiful, shining mane. She has never been seen without her purple-jewled staff, which is thought (though not confirmed) to be her main center of power. The large, purple amethyst at the top radiates a light into which any human who looks becomes immediately spellbound. Strong, mighty creatures have fallen to her feet in worship upon one look at the stone. DG's true age is unknown and does not show on her face. Guessing her age would be almost impossible, since truly studying her that closely would likely cause one to either become enchanted for the rest of their lives or die a slow, horrible death from asphyxiation.
Personality: DG has no patience for stupidity and thus treats nearly every person she meets with contempt. The only true friends she has are those whom have stuck with her and she trust completely. This is rare for DG, so she is mostly a loner and someone who likes to be alone with her thoughts. She holds those who would interrupt her with petty problems in the lowest of regards and will often kill them upon first sight. Only those who are truly powerful need to ever speak to DG, and even they generally tread lightly.
History:DG Hecate was born to a world in chaos. Her true parents were never known, as she was abandoned upon birth, presumably due to her parents knowing that they were unable to protect her from the fury of those at war. A member of her own race, a Dark Faerie named Maleficent, came to her rescue, though not intentionally. Maleficent later said that DG was levitating in the middle of the battlefield in which she had been abandoned and was enthralling those around her so as to stay as safe as possible. From that moment, Maleficent knew that a powerful new being had emerged and she took DG into her tutelage in order to use the girl, and her powers, for her own purposes.DG Hecate grew up in lands completely unfit for any child, much less one who was desperately starved for love and affection. Maleficent made it clear from the start that she was simply a guardian to DG, someone who could teach her, but never someone who could love her. As the years continued and DG's powers grew, she also began to understand that love and affection were emotions which only the weak surrendered to. Where love had once been, Maleficent instilled cruelty. Where the need for someone to care had been, Maleficent instilled a thirst for power. DG learned her lessons well and paid close attention to the terror Maleficent often rained down upon the Kings and Queens who would dare challenge her in any way. Often, DG would assist Maleficent in creating potions and spells which would curse those who resisted her power.
After many years, Maleficent finally began to see her protege for what she was: A threat. DG had long-suspected this would happen, so she was prepared. Maleficent had for years been in a war with a King and Queen over their daughter. DG never completely understood the circumstances, but more important than that was that she had been to create a sleeping draught which put the daughter to sleep until "true love's first kiss" awakened her. DG herself had suggested that clause, knowing that Maleficent hated love and would find the whole thing very amusing. So, with the clause in place, DG put her plan into action and set up the Prince to face Maleficent. What looked to be a hopeless fight was actually nothing even close, since the Prince would have DG fighting on his side. The battle occurred as planned. The Prince got in a lucky hit with a sword, weakening Maleficent ever-so-slightly. When she would've struck back again, DG used her staff to open the wound to 20x bigger and drained Maleficent's life. The tale of the victory of DG spread over the land for many years and her name struck fear in the hearts of those who would approach her. Those who did dare were generally killed swiftly. DG was not to be trifled with, everyone knew. Yet, DG was searching for something. She tired of her traveling and began to search for a place to settle and begin and developing her abilities once again. This was solidified one day a few years later when she was challenged by a Dark Wizard, which was something she should've easily won. Instead, she had to be assisted by a group of beings who happened along, two of which were named Ikarisand Morganna. The battle ended shortly, but it left DG injured. The group proposed that DG end her wanderings temporarily in order to heal and then also help to secure a hostile takeover of a place of training called The Academy of Demonic Arts. DG knew she needed them and liked the idea of the challenge. She agreed. After the takeover was secured, DG surprised everyone by staying around to assist in installing training programs, some of which came directly from what she had learned from Maleficent. For the first time in her life, DG appeared to be content. However, she was now fully healed and feeling the urge to leave again grow stronger within her. She knew that she was not meant for the settled life. She had begun to get testy with the new pupils and, after killing many of them, realized that it was time to wreak mayhem elsewhere. Her friends bid her goodbye and she went on her path.
Years later, DG was approached by a talented young pupil she remembered clearly from the ADA named Darkchilde. She checked her wrath, listed to what Darkchilde said and, to her surprise, it was suggested that she join a group called Masters of Evil. DG again was feeling that it was time to settle and develop her abilities further. DG checked the stars and saw that they aligned perfectly. A change was in the air and DG was ready for it. She agreed to join Masters of Evil and continue her reign of evil there.
Powers: DG can levitate and control the emotions of other at will. She can also shrink her size down so as to become nearly undetectable, an ability which she has often used to spy on others. Her other abilities are enhanced upon development, which is something in her nomadic life which is often neglected. These abilities are super speed, phasing/superficial regeneration, glamouring, teleportation and power absorption.
Special Weapons/Paraphenelia: DG Hecate has a jeweled staff which she carries with her at all times. The large amethyst at the top radiates a glow which enthralls nearly all who look at it, but most easily humans. The amethyst also has telekinetic properties which can be used at will by only DG when she's holding it. It was originally developed by Maleficent and likely also has life-draining abilities, though this can only be used as an offset when DG herself has fully developed her power absorption abilities
